The retro tour concept.
When three motorcycle enthusiasts and vintage lookers join forces to share their love of the Parisian lifestyle with travelers from around the world, you get the RETRO TOUR Paris concept.
Our idea was born from an obvious fact: Paris is our treasure and we wish to make you discover it in a different way, beyond the conventional and overexploited tourist networks. As lovers of history, of Parisian life, of its codes but also of its good addresses, we want to offer our visitors the best of our world-famous and renowned city.
Authenticity, sharing and conviviality are the fundamental values of our concept.
It is quite naturally that the expansion was made in franchise on the most beautiful cities and regions of France according to the meetings.
Come aboard, follow your Gentlemen Siders and live the RETRO TOUR experience.
Our Sidecars
Ural RETRO sidecar model
Inspired by the original Soviet M72 and its most recent incarnation, these 2014 bikes are just as robust, simple and beautiful as their forebears but have all the modern features modern riding demands: disc brakes and modern suspension all without losing those RETRO looks.
Our Equipment
You will be equipped with a vintage helmet Mârkö . Some helmet net are also at your disposal.
For sunny days, sunglasses are recommended!
WINTER (Oct-Fév.)
We recommend you to wrap up warm for the tour. However, we provide jackets. Also a warm blanket will be at your disposal in the sidecar for a maximum comfort.
When it does rain in Paris, it is often merely a light rain that seldom hampers a tour. We provide ponchos and gloves. The sidecar passenger has a windscreen and a waterproof cover.
A fun, informative and memorable normandy experience ! We thoroughly enjoyed the Great Escape tour. We were very impressed by the level of detail to visiting the historic sites and beautiful panorama views over Daeuville and Trouville, the professionalism and friendliness of the tour guides. We decided to do the early morning tour which was fantastic... no traffic or tourists on the roads. We were also happy with their covid parameters with cleaning the bikes, helmets and wearing face shields on the helmets. Overall, a memorable and wonderful experience!
An unforgettable experience with an unforgettable guide On a weekend to visit the beautiful city of Deauville and not knowing the area, we had the chance to board Paulette, our side car, driven by a bearded guide really passionate about the history of Normandy cities. It was a wonderful and pleasant moment that made us want to come back this time to discover the landing beaches. Thank you to our guide for his kindness and his culture which allowed us to spend a unique moment.
The Best ! What a unique and amazing way to explore Paris! I had the best driver who was aware, careful, knowledgeable and funny! What a fun experience! I would absolutely love do this again!
Tour on Motorcycle with Side Car of Paris. Took this with my husband sister and niece. The guides were knowledgeable of the city and itâs history. They were very flexible with the routes. For example the day before we did a boat tour so we wanted to do other areas. Felt very safe they navigated well and knew the roads well.
Absolutely Wonderful from start to finish I honestly couldnât say nicer things about this tour. It was hilarious and such a wonderful way to see Paris. Our driver was the lovely and patient Romain, who was so knowledgeable and fun. Our faces hurt from smiling so much. Would 1000% recommend this tour to anyone - even if youâve seen Paris in all its glory before.

Vodka Museum Tour with transport (excursion only)
Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.
Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldnÂŽt have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of todayÂŽs Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other
Moscow is Russiaâs largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europeâs largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system â each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russiaâs Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.
Moscow Tours centering on Russian History
Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations â capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms â he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russiaâs largest and most vibrant city.
Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers
What is the best time to visit moscow.
Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide
How many days are enough in Moscow?
If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.
Do they speak English in Moscow?
As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.
Is it safe to travel to Moscow?
It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. For more information, read our guide about staying safe in Russia .

The sprawling, mind-boggling metropolis of Russian Moscow has long been one of the theatrical stages on which the great dramas of Europe and Asia have been played out in grand style. Burned by Napoleon in 1812, immortalised by Tolstoy, utilised by the Bolsheviks and championed as a bastion of heroic defiance by the post-war communists, it’s almost hard to believe just how defining the historical events that found their home on Moscow’s streets have been. Moscow tour guides will easily be able to mark the major must-see landmarks on the map, from the onion-domed orthodox Saint Basil's Cathedral, to the political powerhouse of Red Square just next door, while others will be quick to recommend a ride on Moscow’s famous subterranean metro system, or a visit to the UNESCO-attested Novodevichy Convent on the city’s southern side. But Moscow is a city also in the throes of a cultural wrangling between the old and the new. Creative energies abound here: Boho bars and pumping super clubs now occupy the iconic mega structures of the old USSR; high-fashion outlets, trendy shopping malls and luxurious residential districts stand as testimony to a city that’s now the undisputed playground of the world’s super-rich, while sprawling modern art museums dominate the cultural offering of the downtown districts north of the Moskva River.

Grand Hotel Victoria, Lake Como, Italy
With all that moms do for us, it can be hard to find a gift that adequately expresses our gratitude. Instead of generic gifts like flowers and chocolate, experiential gifts are a more thoughtful gesture. Whether mom is burnt out and in need of a break from the family or retired and ready to travel, the gift of a vacation is one that keeps giving years after memories are made on her trip. The below list offers something for whatever mom is seekingâfrom elephant encounters in Thailand to truffle-hunting in Tuscany to forest bathing in the California Redwoods.
For the beach-lover: Rosewood Mayakoba , Riviera Maya, Mexico
Rosewood Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, Mexico
With the crowds of winter dissipating come Spring, Motherâs Day is the ideal time for a quick beach getaway. Upon arriving at this lush 620-acre resort where many of the rooms are accessed by taking a boat through winding mangrove-sheltered canals, it becomes apparent this is not your typical Mexican beach resort. All 129 suites feature oversized terraces, soothing earth materials and furnishings by Mexican artisans, creating a sense of calm. Moms will want to linger at Sense, A Rosewood Spa , which has its own hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room and hot-cold pool circuit, in addition to offering unique wellness experiences like a shaman-led ceremony in the temezcal (sweat lodge) and treatments inspired by the rituals of the ancient Aztecs. With eight dining conceptsâeach reflecting the cuisine of a different region of Mexicoâand plenty of activities offered by Mayakobaâthe gated community in which the Rosewood is set, like golfing, diving and hikingâmom could easily spend a week here and never get bored.
For the animal-lover: Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, Chiang Rai, Thailand
Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort
In a country where it can be hard to ethically participate in elephant tourism, moms can rest easy knowing this elephant camp supports the rehabilitation of their 20 onsite elephants. Located on the lush Mekong River at the intersection of Myanmar and Laos, an hour north of Chiang Rai, mom could easily fill her days taking in the views of the lush valley from the pool or her own balcony in one of the propertyâs spacious 15 suites. But with sidecar adventures, cooking classes, a jungle spa and the opportunity to sleep amidst the elephants in a luxury pod , itâll be hard to resist partaking in all this resort has to offer.

Hot Oceans Worsened Dubaiâs Dramatic Flooding, Scientists Say
An international team of researchers found that heavy rains had intensified in the region, though they couldnât say for sure how much climate change was responsible.
- Share full article
By Raymond Zhong
Scenes of flood-ravaged neighborhoods in one of the planetâs driest regions stunned the world this month. Heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates and Oman submerged cars, clogged highways and killed at least 21 people. Flights out of Dubaiâs airport, a major global hub, were severely disrupted.
The downpours werenât a total surprise â forecasters had anticipated the storms several days earlier and issued warnings. But they were certainly unusual.
Hereâs what to know.
Heavy rain there is rare, but not unheard-of.
On average, the Arabian Peninsula receives a scant few inches of rain a year, although scientists have found that a sizable chunk of that precipitation falls in infrequent but severe bursts, not as periodic showers. These rains often come during El Niño conditions like the ones the world is experiencing now.
U.A.E. officials said the 24-hour rain total on April 16 was the countryâs largest since records there began in 1949 . And parts of the nation had already experienced an earlier round of thunderstorms in March.
Oman, with its coastline on the Arabian Sea, is also vulnerable to tropical cyclones. Past storms there have brought torrential rain, powerful winds and mudslides, causing extensive damage.
Global warming is projected to intensify downpours.
Stronger storms are a key consequence of human-caused global warming. As the atmosphere gets hotter, it can hold more moisture, which can eventually make its way down to the earth as rain or snow.
But that doesnât mean rainfall patterns are changing in precisely the same way across every part of the globe.
In their latest assessment of climate research , scientists convened by the United Nations found there wasnât enough data to have firm conclusions about rainfall trends in the Arabian Peninsula and how climate change was affecting them. The researchers said, however, that if global warming were to be allowed to continue worsening in the coming decades, extreme downpours in the region would quite likely become more intense and more frequent.
Hot oceans are a big factor.
An international team of scientists has made a first attempt at estimating the extent to which climate change may have contributed to Aprilâs storms. The researchers didnât manage to pin down the connection precisely, though in their analysis, they did highlight one known driver of heavy rain in the region: above-normal ocean temperatures.
Large parts of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans have been hotter than usual recently, in part because of El Niño and other natural weather cycles, and in part because of human-induced warming .
When looking only at El Niño years, the scientists estimated that storm events as infrequent as this monthâs delivered 10 percent to 40 percent more rain to the region than they would in a world that hadnât been warmed by human activities. They cautioned, however, that these estimates were highly uncertain.
âRainfall, in general, is getting more extreme,â said Mansour Almazroui, a climate scientist at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and one of the researchers who contributed to the analysis.
The analysis was conducted by scientists affiliated with World Weather Attribution, a research collaboration that studies extreme weather events shortly after they occur. Their findings about this monthâs rains havenât yet been peer reviewed, but are based on standardized methods .
The role of cloud seeding isnât clear.
The U.A.E. has for decades worked to increase rainfall and boost water supplies by seeding clouds. Essentially, this involves shooting particles into clouds to encourage the moisture to gather into larger, heavier droplets, ones that are more likely to fall as rain or snow.
Cloud seeding and other rain-enhancement methods have been tried around the world, including in Australia, China, India, Israel, South Africa and the United States. Studies have found that these operations can, at best, affect precipitation modestly â enough to turn a downpour into a bigger downpour, but probably not a drizzle into a deluge.
Still, experts said pinning down how much seeding might have contributed to this monthâs storms would require detailed study.
âIn general, it is quite a challenge to assess the impact of seeding,â said Luca Delle Monache, a climate scientist at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, Calif. Dr. Delle Monache has been leading efforts to use artificial intelligence to improve the U.A.E.âs rain-enhancement program.
An official with the U.A.E.âs National Center of Meteorology, Omar Al Yazeedi, told news outlets that the agency didnât conduct any seeding during the latest storms. His statements didnât make clear, however, whether that was also true in the hours or days before.
Mr. Al Yazeedi didnât respond to emailed questions from The New York Times, and Adel Kamal, a spokesman for the center, didnât have further comment.
Cities in dry places just arenât designed for floods.
Wherever it happens, flooding isnât just a matter of how much rain comes down. Itâs also about what happens to all that water once itâs on the ground â most critically, in the places people live.
Cities in arid regions often arenât designed to drain very effectively. In these areas, paved surfaces block rain from seeping into the earth below, forcing it into drainage systems that can easily become overwhelmed.
One recent study of Sharjah , the capital of the third-largest emirate in the U.A.E., found that the cityâs rapid growth over the past half-century had made it vulnerable to flooding at far lower levels of rain than before.
