There are various Ships available in Star Trek Timelines . There are two types of ship, Ship Classes and Hero Ships. Ship Classes are generic ships that are not named, such as the Galaxy class. Hero Ships are named ships from the Star Trek universe, such as the USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Players can collect and command many different ships, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Players can change their active ship by using the Build and Change Ships screen in the main menu.

Each ship took around two weeks to model. [1]

Build and Change Ships Screen

The Build and Change Ships interface. This player has built a Maquis Raider and has, for example 300 schematics of the Enterprise-D out of the 450 required.

A certain number of schematics are required to build or upgrade - the number of schematics varies depending on the rank of the ship and the level of the upgrade. For instance it takes 45 schematics to build the Maquis Raider , or it takes 20 schematics to upgrade the Constellation Class from level 1 to level 2.

Upgrading a ship dramatically improves its performance on the battlefield.

Schematics can be acquired by various means:

  • From the (credit) Time Portal . This can award the schematics of any class, usually in units of 15.

Rare

  • By playing certain missions . Schematics can either be dropped as common rewards (usually in batches of 2) or as Rare rewards (usually in batches of 5).
  • By completing Episode 5 : the player can choose between 50 schematics for the Nova class or the Defiant class
  • From scans. This is highly unreliable and grants 1 or 2 schematics.
  • By buying them from Faction centres for dilithium. This is currently one of the most expensive ways to get schematics in the game.
  • If available, the Dabo Wheel has been known to give schematics.

For free-to-play players who look to upgrade their Constellation, you can drop 2 Schematics at the Elite difficulty of The Wrong Crowd (first episode of the first mission). While there are other spots, that is the easiest farmable mission.

A Faction represents one of the various political organizations, empires, federations, and groups from the galaxy and across all different universes. For example, the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance exists alongside the United Federation of Planets, the Terran Empire of the "Mirror, Mirror" universe, and the Cardassian Union.

With all of the different factions, it's no surprise many of them have frequent ideological and political disputes. As you become involved with various Factions through Episode storylines, you'll need to decide which sides to favor. Furthermore, each side will provide unique rewards upon reaching the maximum level of influence with them.

The Scan function of your starship allows for occasional daily scans to collect free salvage, which are items that can be used to progress your game in various ways. Rewards may include Faction Mission tokens and additional credits.

In STAR TREK TIMELINES, you assemble a dream team from Star Trek, including the original series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. As a Captain, you'll direct the action and choose crewmembers to tackle any given dangerous or tense situation.

As a roleplaying game, STAR TREK TIMELINES features characters with Skills [1], Levels [2], and Equipment [3]. However, your crew also have stats like Star Rating [4], Details [5], and level-cap advancement [6].

Star Rating [4] reflects the rarity of a particular crew member in STAR TREK TIMELINES, and roughly equates to their ultimate skill potential. More stars means overall higher skills, like Enterprise-D Picard's skills in Command, Diplomacy, and Science.

Each crew member has four Equipment [3] slots. Giving your crew the appropriate Equipment will raise their Skills [1] and capabilities in both Away Missions and Starship Battles. Once all four equipment slots are full, a crew can be Advanced [6], which raises their level-cap and opens up four new equipment slots. By improving crew equipment, you're able to increase their stats and overcome even more difficult challenges.

Your Daily Missions reset once per day, and include currency and item rewards for simply playing STAR TREK TIMELINES. They're also a good way to jump around game activities during quick play sessions.

You can chat with other players, send private messages, or talk with your fleet from anywhere in the game. Making new friends and talking with other players is a great way to earn more rewards and even learn some tips and tricks.

star trek timelines change ship

You can choose your name and portrait at an early Captain level. A small number of portraits are available to begin. It's possible to earn a crew member's portrait as your own Captain portrait by leveling-up that crew member.

Captain Experience & Levels Gain Captain experience and rise in levels to unlock new game features. You’ll unlock new game features like additional Captain portraits, access to Fleets (player guilds), and additional battle stations for your starships.

New Crew & Equipment To get new crew and equipment, you can buy and spend dilithium as well as earn and spend credits. Almost everything in STAR TREK TIMELINES can be earned by spending credits on crew and item packs, but dilithium packs have a better chance of dropping rare items, crew, and starships schematics. Captains earn credits by completing conflicts, fighting in ship battles and completing shuttle missions.

In addition, special "themed" packs have higher chances of dropping specific types of items — for instance, a Klingon or Romulan crew and item pack.

You can also complete Episodes to earn new crew and equipment. If you conclude an Episode in favor of a particular faction, you can recruit a crew member associated with that faction, like Worf (Klingon) or Bones (Federation).

  • Gray (Common): 1-star maximum
  • Green (Uncommon): 2-star maximum
  • Blue (Rare): 3-star maximum
  • Purple (Super Rare): 4-star maximum
  • Gold (Legendary): 5-star maximum

Crew Advancement & Item Rarity Just like crew, items also have rarity. An item’s rarity is expressed by the number of stars on the item’s bottom border. For example, look at Picard’s favorite variety of tea, Earl Grey:

Each new crew member joins your starship with one star, at level one, and with an starting level-cap of 10. So where does item rarity come in? Let’s take a look at Enterprise-D Picard.

Advancing crew, like Enterprise-D Picard, requires all four items, which are consumed when the crew is advanced:

star trek timelines change ship

At each level of advancement, Enterprise-D Picard will either need a more rare Earl Grey tea or even a new item altogether. This is true of any crew in STAR TREK TIMELINES, and so you’ll often have several Earl Grey teas or Type 2 Phasers in your inventory.

Many of the most common items in the game are combined to make rarer items as well, which is another reason you’ll sometimes earn (or even want) several duplicate items. It can take quite a combinations of items to make a 3- or 5-star Earl Grey.

Starship Battles are real-time conflicts between two starships and their respective crew. Before each battle, as Captain, you assign battle stations from your pool of crew. Each crew, when placed in a battle station, is able to temporarily increase the tactical capabilities of your starship. Currently, this is represented by three core stats: Damage, Accuracy, and Evasion.

star trek timelines change ship

To be victorious, Captains must choose the right crew for each respective battle, and that can change depending on whether you're battling a Borg Cube or a Klingon Bird of Prey. Sometimes, your starship may need more damage for the heavily armored starships. And other times you may require incredible accuracy to hit more nimble vessels.

star trek timelines change ship

Winning a Starship Battle earns you Captain and Crew experience, including credits to spend on upgrading crew or purchasing packs from the Time Portal.

Each Away Mission and Starship Battle also has three difficulty levels: Normal, Elite, and Epic. Each difficulty will increase both your challenge and rewards, and can only be unlocked by achieving 3-stars on the previous difficulty. You can earn 3-stars on Away Missions by earning all Rare Rewards. And to earn 3-stars on Starship Battles, you typically must win without losing shields or by defeating your opponent with a specific amount of time.

New Starships Looking for a new starship? Captains need the appropriate number of schematics unique to constructing each starship. Each vessel will have a required total number of schematics, varied by the ship's rarity and overall battle power. Schematics can be obtained in item packs at the Time Portal, and also by completing various missions from Episodes.

Each crew member can have up to 3 skills from the six areas of expertise: Science, Diplomacy, Engineering, Command, Medical, and Security. As Captain, you must assign three crew members to overcome each Away Mission's skill challenge nodes [1] and successfully complete your mission.

Structurally, an Away Mission is like a branching storyline where each challenge node [1] is both a decision and barrier your crew must overcome:

star trek timelines change ship

As you build your Away Team, any skills they posses that are required for the chosen Away Mission will cause any corresponding nodes [1] to be highlighted gold.

Each challenge node [1] has an associated skill (Diplomacy, Science, etc.) By default, crew with higher skill values will increase your chances at success. However, each sequential challenge will wear down a crew member, reducing their effectiveness in subsequent challenges until they rest one turn.

star trek timelines change ship

If you fail the challenge on any node other than the final one, it will cause your final skill challenge to be more difficult. Overall success or failure on an Away Mission is determined at the final challenge, so try to save your best officers for the final challenge.

Every Away Mission has a selection of Suggested Traits [2]. Each crew member has their own unique collection of Traits reflecting their personality and background. These include racial associations (e.g. the Klingon Trait) as well as Traits associated with particular jobs like Pilot or Astrophysicist, and even attitudes like Innovator.

Traits provide boosts on certain nodes [1], typically ones with Rare Rewards as noted by the star symbol [3] below a node. For a chance at earning a Rare Reward, your crew must have a high enough skill to achieve a critical success on the node. Once you've earned a Rare Reward the star symbol will disappear, noting the reward has been acquired.

star trek timelines change ship

Aside from Rare Rewards, completing Away Missions can earn you credits, experience, equipment, and training items. Moreover, earning all of the Rare Rewards available on a specific Away Mission will result in an award of 3 stars. As you progress through STAR TREK TIMELINES it will only become more important to balance the progression of your crew with the growing challenges of each new Episode, whether it's Starship Battles or Away Missions.

star trek timelines change ship

Upon winning an Away Mission you'll often receive equipment for your crew, Captain and crew experience, Training Programs to further level-up your crew, and credits. Other rewards can include Starship Schematics and Transmissions to complete faction missions, which themselves can give the above items.

There are three difficulty levels for Away Missions: Normal, Elite, and Epic. Each level presents higher skill node challenges and also better rewards. To unlock Elite and Epic difficulties, replay an Away Mission to unlock all Rare Rewards.

Warp 1 & Warp 10 Once you’ve earned 3-stars on an Away Mission or Starship Battle, you can return to them in the Episode screen via the Galaxy Map and use the Warp 1 and Warp 10 buttons. You can also use the Crew Management screen to tap on any empty and unlocked item slots for a list of away missions, starship battles, and faction missions that give said item as a reward.

Warp 1 will instantly play through a 3-star Away Mission or Starship Battle one time, as if you had successfully played through it. Warping costs chronitons, but in exchange you will acquire Captain experience, items, and credits. Warping will not earn your crew members any experience points, however.

star trek timelines change ship

Warp 10 is similar to Warp 1, except it automatically plays through the Away Mission or Starship Battle ten times successfully in the background. Be careful, however, as Warp 10 also costs 10x the amount of chronitons that Warp 1 does.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Posted by: BlueStacks Content Team

Editor’s Rating:

star trek timelines change ship

We’ve already mentioned in our guide to a great early game in Star Trek Timelines  that ships aren’t too important for your progression in the game. We maintain this view in terms of gameplay… however , we are also Star Trek fans and we have to be honest here – there is no way we won’t strive to have the coolest damned fleet of ships in the galaxy.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Some players really want to roleplay in a famous Federation vessel, while others want to become serious contenders in the arena. At any rate, there comes a time in your playthrough of Star Trek Timelines that you begin to want a legendary ship. Badly.

The good news is that, even though you can pay to get your favorite ship faster, you don’t have to. It is more than possible to play Star Trek Timelines for free  and still have plenty of fun, as well as obtain some of the best ships. In fact, if you play diligently for a couple of months, you’ll probably have too many to choose from!

Rest assured, though: we have you covered in case you can’t make up your own mind. The vessels we’ve included below are some of our favorites in the game so you might want to keep an eye out for their schematics at all times. Once we briefly go through these best ships and their features, we’ll also take a closer look at how you, too, can unlock them for free.

The Borg Cube

The 5-star legendary Borg Cube is pretty much the bane of the arena in Star Trek Timelines. People who have it and don’t mind using it are absolutely in love with it, while those who either don’t have it or prefer to use a different ship tend to hate its mechanical guts. Of course, it will be up to you to choose a side.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

The reason why the Cube is so popular is because of its “Laser Cutter Beam”, which increases Attack by +1 and deals 350% damage. It basically cuts through most other ships like the proverbial knife through butter. The disadvantage (there is one, thank Roddenberry!) is that the Cube has very low Evasion compared to other top-tier ships. If you’re up against a Cube in the arena, this is the weakness you have to exploit.

The HMS Bounty

A gorgeous tier 5 Klingon K’Vort Bird-of-Prey, the HMS Bounty is another community favorite, though it is perhaps not as obnoxious as the Borg Cube. With decent stats in terms of Attack Power, Speed, and Accuracy, this ship relies on a few extraordinary cooldowns to defeat others.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Its “Tritium Intermix” adds +2 Attack and reflects 40% of the damage dealt by the attacker, while the “Dispersive Armor” adds +2 Evasion and grants Cloak. Naturally, the ship must be paired with adequate characters for maximum impact, but, when upgraded and properly manned, it can be devastating.

The ISS Enterprise NCC-1701

A favorite among die-hard fans of the series, as well as a beast inside the arena, the ISS Enterprise has great stats and a decent combination of defensive and offensive cooldowns. What truly makes this ship shine is its “Boarding” feature, which allows you to equip and take advantage of boarding crew.

Play Star Trek Timelines on BlueStacks!

Thanks to its native high Attack stats and speed, the ISS Enterprise can blast a giant hole through the hull of any other ship… if properly manned. If you’ve gotten your hands on plenty of good crew members with the “Boarding” trait and high Attack bonuses, then this is definitely the best ship for you.

To put it broadly, the Prakesh is the Cardassian version of the ISS Enterprise. Although it does come with a lower Attack Power stat, it is ever-so-slightly faster to shoot and has significantly higher Accuracy. Like the Enterprise, however, the best part about the Prakesh is its use of “Boarding”.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Once you’ve built Prakesh, all you have to do is put together a great boarding crew. Some of your options include Third Remata’Klan (fully upgraded), Warship Chakotay, Scientist Degra, Commando Crusher, Kalifi Spock, Ardra, and many others.

D’Kora Krayton

Although you wouldn’t expect the Ferengi to have it in them, this tier 5 Marauder of the Ferengi Alliance can be a veritable powerhouse in the arena. Sure, you won’t see it as often as the ISS Enterprise when looking through leaderboards, but it has a steady presence and can be tremendously fun to play.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Its “Electromagnetic Pulse” is even better than the Cube’s most prominent offensive ability since it grants +2 Attack and deals 350% damage. Meanwhile, its “Cannibalize Auxiliary Vessel” offers some survivability with +2 Evasion and a 15% Hull repair.

Can You Actually Get These Ships… for Free?

Many a mobile game has tricked us into thinking that yes, we can play and be good for free. Most of the times, this is just a ploy to drag us in and reach for our wallets. But this is not the case with Star Trek Timelines. No one says that it doesn’t take a lot of time to build a good fleet without spending any real currency, but, ultimately, it is actually possible.

In terms of legendary ships, you have not one, but a few options to obtain them for free. These include:

The Dabo Wheel

By far the most consistent way to earn schematics for tier 5 ships, the Dabo Wheel can award as much as 450 schematics at a time. If you only log in and spin the wheel every day, you’re still likely to have several legendary ships by the end of two months.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Missions and Dilemmas

Not all missions or dilemmas reward you with schematics, but some do. Dilemmas, especially, can award as many as 600 at a time.

The Daily Rewards Calendar

Another great source of free schematics, this method only requires you to log in each day in order to obtain some of the best ships in the game.

Star Trek Timelines - The Best Legendary Ships and How to Get Them

Simple Scans

Although, to be fair, you’re only going to get 1-2 schematics at a time and only from some scans.

So there you have it – our selection of the best legendary ships in Star Trek Timelines and a couple of ways to earn them for free! You should make no illusions, though. While ships are amazing for roleplay, none of these will fare well without the right crew … and getting them, although possible, is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Simple Ship Transition

By LaughingTrendy | Thu 15 Jan 2015 12:00:00 PM PST

star trek timelines change ship

In our continuing effort to work on quality-of-life issues in Star Trek Online, we are adding a new system for simple ship transitions. We hope this change will make it easier for players to try out different ships and enjoy the process of switching ships when leveling.

This new feature is to help equip new ships that a player acquires. When a ship is readied for the first time, all of the items that can legally be fitted on the new ship will be moved from the old ship onto the newly readied ship. The items moved will be shadowed on the old ship, which will make it painless to switch back to any previous ships.  There a couple of requirements and notes for this new system.

  • This system is only triggered the first time a new ship is used. If you switch ships to a ship you have used previously, the ship switch process will work as it has always done.
  • The new ship cannot have had any items moved to it manually.
  • This feature will work either when readying the starship for the first time through the ship selector or when switching to the new ship for the first time in space.
  • The new ship can’t have any loadouts created for it.
  • Only common items will be moved to the player’s inventory.

The new ship transition system will go live on Holodeck in a future update, and will go to Tribble soon for player testing. Please give us your feedback on this change.

Discuss in the forums.

Anton Yelchin's Chekov Accent In Star Trek Was Inaccurate On Purpose

V iacom, the parent company of Paramount, underwent a dramatic split in 2005, causing the TV rights to "Star Trek" and the movie rights to "Star Trek" to be divided among two separate companies. This meant that if the movie-owners wanted to make a new feature film, they would have to license "Star Trek" iconography from the TV-owners. Under the conditions of such a liscense, a movie had to look legally distinct from the old TV show. What a headache.

This situation led to the creation of the Kelvin-verse, a "Star Trek" continuity that took place in a parallel timeline. The 2009 "Star Trek" movie featured the same ships and characters as the 1966 "Star Trek," but altered into something similar-yet-different. New actors played younger versions of the 1966 originals, and the U.S.S. Enterprise was now twice as big. Director J.J. Abrams also made the new movie more dramatic, action-packed, and full of explosions. There's some debate among Trekkies as to whether or not the Kelvin-verse is in the spirit of "Star Trek" or if it should be considered an autonomous media entity.

What everyone seemed to agree on, however, was the new film's savvy casting. The newer, younger actors all did exemplary jobs of capturing the looks, mannerisms, and personalities of their 1960s counterparts. They were youthful, more impulsive versions of the characters we knew, but held the same appeal.

The role of Ensign Pavel Chekhov, previously played by Walter Koenig, went to the late Anton Yelchin. Yelchin captured Koenig's cockiness, Russian-centric ego, and dazzling charm. He also recreated Koenig's broad Russian accent, a notable feature of the character.

In 2009, Yelchin spoke with TrekMovie , and he revealed that the accent was deliberately broad; it wasn't supposed to sound authentic. He also explained why he made that decision.
