Active Stirling's Primary 4 Tennis Festival 2024 - Stirling Primary Schools

Stirling Primary Schools P4 Tennis Festival News Story: https://www.activestirling.org.uk/news/stirling-primary-schools-tennis-festival As part of Active Stirling’s integral Active Schools Programme, funded by Sportscotland, our aim is to support Stirling Schools to participate in sport and physical activity, to give every school child in Stirling the opportunity to be active through extra-curricular activity and to create pathways to activities in their local community. We will support people to lead activities for children including parent or community volunteers, young people as sports leaders and school staff. More than 150 Primary 4 pupils enthusiastically took to the courts at The PEAK, Stirling Sports Village. The event proved to be a resounding success, with a vibrant atmosphere permeating the venue. Students from Riverside, Allan’s, Gargunnock, Fallin, Braehead, and East Plean Primary Schools revelled in a morning filled with fun, learning new skills. The format was designed to develop key social skills such as teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship, and build confidence as they enjoyed developing skills for Tennis. At the heart of the event's success, S3 students from Balfron High School generously lent their support to Active Stirling’s Active Schools team and Modern Apprentices, contributing significantly to the smooth execution of the event. Gratitude is extended to Tennis Scotland for their invaluable assistance in training the S3 leaders. Our children's ice skating lessons start from age 2 years upwards with our Skate tots programme. The Sports Union Awards Ball is the glamorous finale to a thrilling season of sport. Members from all clubs come together to celebrate the successes from the year. There are plenty of awards to be won, a tasty 3 course meal and a ceilidh/DJ to finish the evening. You won't want to miss it!

This year's Sports Ball is taking place on Thursday 6th April at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow.

The ball will celebrate all of our club's successes from the year, with awards up for grabs, including Blues, Colours, Sports Personality, Coach of the Year and the coveted Club of the Year trophy. To be in with a chance of winning an award, you must nominate members and your club, through the link below. Without a nomination, you cannot win an award, so don't miss out and getting nominating!

Dress code is black tie, formal, national dress. You can see photos of the 2019 ball here - Sports Ball 2019 photo.

The ball is kindly being supported by University of Stirling Sport. 

Tickets for this year's ball are £60, this includes return bus travel to and from the venue (leaving from campus, returning to both campus & city centre), three course meal, drinks reception, photo booth awards, ceilidh and DJ. 

Tickets will be sold online only, via the Union website on this page. Tickets are 1 per person, registered to your student account and cannot be transferred to another student. Do not purchase on someone's behalf as ID's will be cross checked with an attendee lists on the day of Sports Ball. On Thursday 6th April, you must come to the atrium to collect your physical ticket from 9.30am-3pm. This ticket will give you access on to the bus and into the venue.  

Tickets are now completely sold out. Although we were able to increase the capacity of Sports Ball for this year's event, we experienced a very high demand of sales. If you wish to join the waiting list on the chance another student can no longer attend, please put your details in to the  Form.

You will need to be a member of the Sports Union to buy your ticket. 

When checking out with your ticket purchase online, you'll be asked for any dietary requirements, accessibility requirements and which Sports Club you'd like to sit with -  please ensure you complete this information. 

You will receive an email receipt upon purchasing your ticket which will have logistical information such as bus departure times from campus and terms & conditions.

ticket FAQS

Please see below information which we are being regularly asked about tickets. 

• Pre-sale tickets - only registered committee members and final year students (including post-graduates) are eligible for advance ticket sale on the 20th February.
• Coaches/Alumni  - the Sports Union Awards Ball was established to recognise the contribution of students over the course of that academic year. Whilst it is greatly regrettable that many have missed out on this opportunity in recent years, the online ticketing system is only able to provide tickets to current University of Stirling students.
• Students on Placement  - unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate students unable to log in to the website during the dates of sale. We hope the online system provides a convenient and accessible opportunity for all students to buy their tickets. Whilst the event has a record of selling out, we expect sales to be available throughout the morning of Tuesday 21st February. Students cannot buy a ticket on someone else's behalf.
