What to do in Taytay, Palawan’s hidden gem

Posted on January 31, 2020 | Julie J. |

Taytay, the ancient capital of Palawan during the Spanish occupation, now called the Star of the North, must be on your bucket list. Even if Palawan is full of tourists, few passes by Taytay and they’re missing something great. There are a lot of activities to do here and spending a few days in Taytay is a good way to escape the crowd. Deserted beaches, gorgeous waterfalls, and river dolphins watching are only a few things you can do in Taytay. Read on to discover some of Taytay’s best tourist spots.

Palawan is one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines, it’s also one of the most popular destinations. Places like El Nido and Puerto Princesa are often crowded by tourists and often suffer from the lack of proper infrastructures and over-tourism.

Fortunately, there are many beautiful places in Palawan that are more low-key and less frequented. Taytay is one of those places. A tiny city on the seaside with tons of things to do while there and many beautiful places to discover.

Best things to do in Taytay Palawan:

1 – irrawaddy dolphins watching.

Irrawaddy Dolphin

The Irradawy dolphin species is almost extinct and can only be found in a few places across the world like in Kalimantan or in Taytay. To see them you’ll need to start early, around 5 am. The tour lasts about 2 hours and will take you along the river and then to a big lake. The fishermen there see the dolphins every day so your chances of spotting a couple of them are high. Even the ride in itself is nice, the lake is beautiful and really peaceful.

Price: 1200 pesos for a boat good for 4 – 500 pesos for the tricycle back and forth (we got overpriced, I think you can find a better offer for the tricycle).

2 – Exploring Kuyawyaw falls

Kuyawyaw falls, taytay, palawan tourist spots

Located 26 kilometers north of Taytay, this 3-levels waterfall is a nice place to relax and do some jungle trekking. Because I went at the end of the dry season, the falls are pretty small and the water is not that clear. Only the third waterfall had nice water. Normally the water at all 3 levels is crystal blue.

It only takes 10 minutes to the first level and 10 more to the next level. The trek is easy but tiring because you go up and the path is often uneven. It takes 20 more minutes to reach the last level, this part is really steep and pretty hard to climb, go only if you’re in good shape.

To get there, you can just take a bus bound for El Nido and get off at the crossroad. If you’re lucky you’ll find a tricycle or habal-habal to take you to the entrance, otherwise you can walk, it’s about 1 kilometer away from the main road. You can also hire a tricycle from Taytay for 1000 pesos, the driver will wait for you and take you back. He might also serve as a guide.

Entrance fee: 200 pesos – You’ll need to hire a guide if you want to reach the third level.

3 – Taytay island hopping

Elephant Island, Taytay, Palawan

Island hopping is one of Taytay’s major attractions. Many islands are owned by resorts so you’ll need to be a guest or pay an entrance fee on some of the islands. But don’t worry there are still a lot of places to explore offshore.

One of the best spots is Elephant Island and its small lagoon. The island is full of small white-sand coves. The lagoon is easily accessible (just a bit of climbing) and reminded me of the caves where you can swim. The pool is surrounded by high rocks with just a little opening letting the sunlight come in. It’s also a great place for snorkeling with many beautiful reefs in the area.

You can arrange for the boat at Casa Rosa but it’s a bit expensive (starts at 3500 pesos for 2 persons). You can also go to the port and negotiate directly with a boatman. I paid 2500 pesos for the whole boat going to Elephant Island plus one snorkeling spot. The farther you want to go the higher the price.

The best part about island hopping in Taytay is that you’ll probably be alone on the islands you visit. Contrary to El Nido or Honda Bay , not many tourists visit Taytay, and it’s just as nice.

4 – Visiting Fuerza de Santa Isabel

Fuerza de Santa Isabel, Taytay

Built in 1667 by the Spaniards, the fort is still really well preserved. Invaded by vegetation, the place is perfect at sundown. You’ll get a great view, especially of the Taytay Hollywood-like sign. There’s an old chapel in the middle which looks like is still being used.

Taytay sign

Entrance fee: 50 pesos

5 – Wildlife watching in Danao Lake

Danao Lake, also known as Manguao Lake is a nice place for nature lovers. You can go on a boat or kayak tour to enjoy the landscape and maybe spot some wildlife. There’s also a trail there to trek and do some bird-watching.

Where to stay in Taytay

I stayed in Tay Lelong’s Pension House which is a nice budget-friendly option, I recommend it. It’s in a quiet neighborhood and they have a nice outdoor area with a pool.

Where to eat in Taytay

Next to the fort, you’ll find several food stands, the food there is super tasty. The best I had in the Philippines so far. I tried several booths, and each time, the food was amazing.

Including Taytay to your Palawan Itinerary

You could include Taytay to your itinerary between El Nido and Port Barton, or between El Nido and Puerto Princesa if you’re not going to visit Port Barton (which I highly recommend). I think 2 days in Taytay is enough. You can spend one day island hopping and on the second day, go dolphin watching in the morning, then head to the fall. In the evening visit the fort.

View of Daranak Falls in Rizal

The Calinawan Cave is a series of caves located in Barangay Tandang Kutyo in Tanay, Rizal. It contains different levels and chambers that tourists can explore. It is also known as a historical site since it was used as a hideout by Filipinos during World War II. Today, it is a popular filming location for movies and TV shows. Situated about 3.5 KM from the cave is Daranak Falls.

The falls are 14-meters tall and are nestled at the foot of the Tanay mountains. It is also surrounded by lush greeneries, contributing to its cool and refreshing atmosphere. Aside from swimming here, visitors can also climb the side of the falls to jump into the water below.

Groups can also rent the picnic sheds and tables to enjoy a meal by the cascading waterfalls. Similar to Calinawan Cave, the falls have also become a go-to spot for filming all kinds of videos.

Avilon Zoo is a 7.5-hectare facility that cares for the largest collection of animals in the Philippines. This family-friendly center is located in the town of Rodriguez and has over 3,000 specimens of exotic wildlife under its roof. Their impressive collection consists of more than 500 types of mammals, birds, reptiles, freshwater fish, amphibians, and invertebrates.

The center also houses a large array of animals that are endemic to our country. The majority of these local fauns were born in captivity under the zoo's off-site conservation program. Visitors are free to explore the facility on their own, but the staff also offers guided tours of the zoo. Among the animals they take care of are the Northern Luzon Cloud Rat, Philippine Falconet, Bornean Orangutan, and Young Philippine Carabao.

While you get a closer look at these beautiful animals, the center invites tourists to feed some species as well for a more friendly encounter.

13. Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs

Interior of the Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs

The Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs are an important historic site because it is believed to be the oldest known artworks in the country. These ancient images were carved into a wall of solid rock in the mountainside of Angono and Binangonan.

They span 25 meters of the wall and measure up to 3.7 meters from the ground. The images depict 127 human and animal figures, which are said to be associated with magic and healing.

While archaeologists estimate that they were made during the Neolithic period, the petroglyphs were only discovered back in 1965 by the late National Artist of the Philippines, Carlos V. Francisco. He himself was a muralist and a native of Angono.

Following his breakthrough, the National Museum of the Philippines built a view deck where visitors could safely admire the ancient piece of art. Today, it is recognized as one of the Philippines' National Cultural Treasures.

Travelers riding ATVs in Rizal, Philippines

Another great activity to try in this province is ATV riding across the rugged terrain and muddy trails of lush forests. Visitors can take part in this adrenaline-pumping activity at the ATV Adventures Rizal.

It is located along Sapinit Road in Antipolo, the provincial capital. Travelers, including families and large groups, can choose to ride these 4x4 vehicles across different trails and offer safety demos for beginners.

Each trail comes with the service of a tour guide who will ensure your safety as you traverse the rough paths. Certain trails also include treks to stunning rivers and waterfalls that visitors can take a refreshing dip in.

Besides swimming, you can also go fun boating along the river or even go camping in one of the campsites on their overnight trail. As you ride through the vast forests and rocky roads, you can avail of photo and video services as well to capture your thrilling adventure.

The waterfalls at Hinulugang Taktak, Rizal

Hinulugang Taktak is a 70-feet-tall waterfall that is nestled in Antipolo City. It is one of the nearest waterfalls from Manila and is about 84 feet in width. The stunning waterscape was named as such because a large bell (taktak) was dropped (hinulog) into it in the 15th or 16th century.

The bell was thrown there because locals disliked how loud it was when it was rung. In the following years, the area surrounding the falls has been designated as a protected area and a national park.

Though pollution in the 1990s made the water unsafe for recreational purposes such as swimming, visitors can still take a dip in the pool close to the falls. A cemented viewing deck has been built as well so tourists can get a better view of the falling water.

The whole park spans 3.2 hectares and also features attractions such as hanging bridges amid the canopy of trees in the park.

The waterfalls of Wawa Dam, Rizal

Wawa Dam is another spot that is beloved by locals for the cool water that falls from it. The dam is located in the Montalban Gorge along the Marikina River. It was originally built to provide water to Manila back in 1909 during the American colonial period.

However, it was eventually abandoned in 1968 after the Angat Dam was opened. Since then, it has become a popular spot for swimming and hiking.

The water rushing from the top of the dam also makes it look like a large waterfall and is a great attraction to take photos of. Travelers can also take a dip in the portion of the Marikina River near the dam to enjoy the cool waters.

After swimming, you can rent one of the bamboo cottages situated at the foot of the dam to have a meal while soaking your feet in the running water. Lush greens also surround the dam as it is part of Pamitinan Protected Landscape.

9. Cloud 9

Hanging bridge leading to Cloud 9 Antipolo's viewing deck

To get a panoramic view of Antipolo City, the province's capital, look no further than the Cloud 9 Hotel and Resort. This resort features three buildings that contain a total of 78 rooms and a swimming pool, but its most noteworthy attraction is its 360(degree symbol) View Deck.

It sits on the top of a towering building that travelers can only reach by crossing a hanging bridge that connects to a smaller building. Once you set foot on the deck, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the cityscape. One of the best times to visit is in the late afternoon so you can watch the sunset.

Aside from the viewing deck, visitors can also cross the resort's metal walkway. Thanks to the lush plants that grow along its railings, the path resembles a tunnel made of leaves and has become a popular spot to take photos in. After taking in the gorgeous views of the cityscape, you can then enjoy a meal at the resort's restaurant that serves an array of Filipino dishes.

8. Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binicayan

Rizal is also well-known as a top destination for hiking in the Philippines . It's perfect for hikers of all levels, thanks to a multitude of mountains that are found here. Two of the best peaks in this province are the two limestone mountains called Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binicayan.

Mt. Pamitinan is located in the Pamitinan Protected Landscape that also consists of Wawa Dam. Meanwhile, Mt. Binicayan stands across the Marikina River.

See our popular Hiking Tours

Both peaks have their own designated hiking trails that lead up to their respective summits. Since the two paths involve climbing past rough limestone rocks, it is best to bring gloves to help you get a better grip on them.

Once you reach the summit of either mountain, you will be rewarded with a gorgeous, panoramic view of the vibrant forestry lining the Marikina River and the neighboring mountains. The best time to go on hiking tours to these peaks is in the early morning, so you can also sit back and enjoy the sunrise from more than 423 meters above sea level.

7. Mount Purro Nature Reserve

The pool in Mount Purro Nature Reserve, Antipolo

Mount Purro Nature Reserve is an eco-park nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range. It's one of the best resorts in Antipolo , Rizal. Visitors often come here to reconnect with nature and enjoy the overall quiet atmosphere this nature reserve cultivates.

Its accommodations are heavily inspired by the Bahay Kubo, a traditional Filipino home often made from bamboo and similar materials. Travelers can stay in various cottages that can fit between 4 to 15 people, depending on the type you book.

To help you appreciate nature, this top Rizal resort does not have air-conditioning but stays cool thanks to the fresh air that breezes through the complex. It also only has a limited signal for cellphones and does not offer free WiFi to help minimize distractions during your stay here.

Visitors can also take a dip in the resort's swimming pool or enjoy the activities offered in the game room and nature playscape. The staff also offers forest hikes and river walks for those looking to explore nature around the eco-park.

6. Tinipak River

The blue waters of Tinipak River, Rizal

Tinipak River is another of Rizal's hidden gems that have gained recognition over the years. Tourists can find this stunning river that runs through white marble rocks in Barangay Daraitan and is one of the stops on the way to Mt. Daraitan.

Visitors often spend time here to take a dip in its pristine, clear waters before continuing the hike up to the mountain's peak or to relax after the descent.

  • Book a Tinipak River tour in Rizal

You can also sit by the river's shore to enjoy a simple picnic. If you would like to extend your visit to appreciate the river and its surroundings more, you can choose to spend the night here as well.

Tourists can bring their own tents or rent one from the team caring for the camping grounds. Aside from swimming in the river, visitors can also explore the nearby cave that contains natural streams and pools of water.

From Tinipak River, you can then continue your adventure and make your up to the peak of Mt. Daraitan. This mountain is part of the Sierra Madre mountain range, and with a difficulty level of 4 out of 9, it is a great climb for beginners.

The designated hiking trail spans 600 meters and will take you through the mountain's abundant forest. Travelers will also pass some jagged limestones on the way up, but there are bamboo railings that you can hold on to. Your guide will show how to maneuver through the areas as well.

The summit is 739 meters above sea level and offers a grand view of the Tinipak River and other mountains in the Sierra Madre range. Travelers can also set up camp here to watch the sunset and sunrise from this mountaintop.

The best time to go on a day hike up Mt. Daraitan is on the weekdays so that you can avoid the larger crowds on weekends. You can also join a Mt. Daraitan hiking tour that includes a trip to Tinipak River.

Windmills in Pililla Wind Farm, Rizal

On the rolling hills of Pililla sit 27 giant wind turbines that provide clean energy to Manila. These large structures are as tall as 33-story buildings or 125 meters and bring clean wind energy to approximately 66,000 households in our country's capital city. Tourists go here to enjoy the cool, strong gusts of wind that the turbines turn into electricity and to admire the towering fans as well.

During Holy Week, which typically takes place between March and April every year, an average of 130,000 tourists come to see the turbines up close. Aside from providing renewable energy, the Pililla Wind Farm also helps the local businesses by bringing in new customers to the area.

After gazing at the turbines, you can also drop by the visitor's center to learn more about the site and the benefits of wind energy. Here, tourists can view 18 information panels that explain and celebrate the effects of renewable power.

3. Antipolo Cathedral

The Antipolo Cathedral sits atop a hill in Antipolo City from where visitors can get a panoramic view of the cityscape below. This church was completed in 1632 and has been a well-known destination for travelers since it houses the image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.

Among the many visitors who paid respect to the wooden sculpture was our country's national hero, the late Jose Rizal, who came with his father back in 1868. Locals also go there to get their new cars blessed or before a long trip in hopes of getting to their destinations safely.

However, the cathedral also had its fair share of troubles and was destroyed during World War II. Following the war, architect Jose L. de Ocampo designed a new shrine that was completed in 1954.

One of the most important events that are celebrated here is the commemorative thanksgiving mass that takes place on the first Tuesday of May. This holy ceremony marks the start of the pilgrimage season and started back in 1947.

Two buildings in Pinto Art Museum

Pinto Art Museum is an open-air exhibition space that is located inside a two-hectare botanical garden in Antipolo City. This gallery was founded back in 2010 by Filipino neurologist Dr. Joven Cuanang so he could share his large art collection with the public. It's also one of the top tourist spots in Antipolo .

As an avid advocate of the arts, Dr. Cuanang's collection features paintings and sculptures from Filipino artists such as Elmer Borlongan, Geraldine Javier, and Marina Cruz, among others. The museum also consists of artworks that date back to the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines.

The whole collection is also spread across various white buildings that resemble Mediterranean architecture. While you are free to roam around the museum, the staff also offers guided tours for those looking to dive deeper into the history of the pieces.

As you make your way through the various exhibits, you can also enjoy a delicious meal and a rich cup of coffee at the in-house coffee shop called Cafe Rizal. Travelers can also visit a minimalist chapel inside the museum grounds that contain unique statues.

Hikers in Masungi Georeserve, Rizal

The Masungi Georeserve is a nature conservation center situated in the Sierra Madre mountain range in Baras, Rizal. The complex features stunning limestone peaks, lush rainforests, and caves with stalactite and stalagmite formations.

Visitors can explore the whole area by walking on hanging bridges above the limestone formations. The paths are made of sturdy metal to ensure the safety of travelers and the natural landscape as well.

The most popular attraction here is the Sapot (Cobweb in English), a suspended metal netting above limestones. From here, you can get a 360-degree view of the Sierra Madre mountain range and the Laguna de Bay. Travelers can also rest in an open-air bamboo house that sits in the middle of a long bridge and is suspended above tree crowns.

After exploring the diverse landscape, you can then look over the city skyline while enjoying a tasty meal at a hilltop glass hut inside the complex. To properly care for the natural landscape, the center only accepts a limited number of visitors per day, so make sure to call ahead to secure a spot.

View of the Taytay Spanish Fort

Taytay, Palawan, known as “ The Star of the North ,” was founded in 1623 and served as Palawan’s first capital. Its name comes from the native word for bridge, as it was a transportation hub for traders.

Though it was held captive by Magellan’s crew, it remains one of Palawan’s oldest municipalities and boasts a rich cultural history, including an old church located in the Taytay fort. While no longer the capital, it is still a must-visit for travelers seeking untouched nature and cultural experiences.

Must See Attractions in Taytay:

A view of the Taytay's Fort Church

Fort Santa Isabel

Fort Santa Isabel is a significant historical site situated in Taytay, a municipality in Palawan, Philippines. Originally built in 1667 as a wooden palisade by the Augustinian Recollect Fathers, it was later replaced with a formidable stone fort in 1738, under the leadership of Governor General Fernando Manuel de Bustillo, to protect against the attacks of Sulu Muslim warriors.

Constructed with coral stone blocks and egg white mortar, the quadrangular fort has bastions and garitas on its corners, named after San Toribio, Santa Isabel, San Juan, and San Manuel. The fortress, which is a lasting symbol of a rich historical heritage, is carved out of a massive rock and is home to a small chapel and cannons that remain intact.

The fort has a fascinating story, including a local legend that recounts how during a siege by pirates, the holy patron saint of Taytay, Santa Monica, advised local soldiers to pour boiling water and animal fat on the climbing pirates, making the walls slippery and scalding the raiders, which caused them to surrender. They re-embarked and sailed back to Jolo, never to bother the Taytayanos again.

The National Museum supervises Fort Santa Isabel, which is open daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Visitors are charged an entrance fee of PHP 50 per person, and it is recommended that they spend about an hour exploring the site. With its rich history and stunning architecture, Fort Santa Isabel is a must-visit attraction in Palawan, Philippines.

Malampaya Sound

Taytay municipality in Palawan is a hidden gem that not only boasts of its rich historical significance but also its abundant natural resources. Despite not receiving as much attention as popular tourist destinations like El Nido and the Underground River, Taytay has plenty to offer visitors.

The area is home to diverse marine life, including sea turtles, fishes, and corals, making it an excellent spot for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. Moreover, Malampaya Sound is a must-visit destination for tourists who want to go on an Irrawaddy Dolphin Watching tour. These dolphins are a rare and endangered species that are endemic to the Malampaya Sound. Unlike other dolphins, they resemble sea cows (dugongs) and have a shorter snout, slightly paler underparts, and smaller dorsal fins on their backs. They have a slaty blue to gray color, making them a fascinating sight to behold.

For those interested in dolphin watching, it is recommended to set aside about two hours for the tour, with costs ranging from PHP 1,500-2,500 for the boat. Overall, Taytay is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking to discover Palawan’s hidden gems.

Kuyawyaw Falls

Cuyawyaw Falls, also known as Kuyawyaw Falls, is a hidden gem in Taytay that offers a relaxing escape into nature at its purest. Nestled within the dense tropical forest, these three magnificent waterfalls drop from a height of approximately 25 meters , creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere.

Visitors can indulge in various activities, such as swimming in the cool waters, jungle trekking, and enjoying a picnic amidst the beautiful surroundings. The waterfalls are accessible via a 45-minute drive from Taytay town, followed by a 30-minute hike from the jump-off point.

A visit to Kuyawyaw Falls is highly recommended and should take approximately four hours to fully appreciate and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The cost for the experience is around PHP 1,000 per person, making it an affordable and worthwhile excursion for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Manguao Lake

Danao Lake, also referred to as Manguao Lake, is the largest freshwater lake in Palawan and a must-visit destination in Taytay. This massive body of water is home to over 124 different species of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers .

A 15-minute drive from Taytay town proper takes visitors through rural landscapes and quaint villages to reach Lake Danao. Upon arrival, visitors can choose to camp, take a nature hike through the trail path, or even fish and cook their catch in the picnic area.

While exploring Lake Danao, visitors can also embark on a relaxing lake cruise or enjoy jungle trekking. However, please note that this lake may be inaccessible during the rainy season due to the muddy and impassable road.

A visit to Danao Lake is recommended for a two-hour excursion, and the cost of a boat ride is around PHP 1,500- PHP 2,500 per boat. With its breathtaking scenery and abundance of wildlife, Danao Lake is a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

A scenic view of Palawan's Lake Danao

Pabellon Islands

The Pabellon Islands are a group of limestone islands that are famous for producing top-quality edible bird’s nests . The islands include the stunning Elephant Island and Castle Island, which both offer breathtaking scenery.

Elephant Island is known for its hidden lagoon inside a cave, as well as its white sandy beaches and dramatic limestone cliffs.

To get to the Pabellon Islands, you can rent a boat from Taytay port, and the journey takes around an hour.

The caves and caverns where the birds’ nests are found are strictly guarded to protect the Balinsasayaw nests in the area.

Visitors can enjoy snorkeling and exploring the lagoon while taking in the magnificent views of the limestone formations.

Isla Blanca

Isla Blanca is an exceptional destination for island-hopping and snorkeling in Taytay. This stunning island boasts a vast coral garden and an expansive coral sandbar that is simply breathtaking. Since Taytay is not yet a mainstream tourist destination, you may be lucky to have the entire island to yourself.

Dinamayan Island

Dinamayan Island is a true gem with its stunning white sand beach and thriving underwater world. A short boat ride from Taytay port, it is privately owned by the same owner of Casa Rosa Pension in Taytay, so arranging your trip to Dinamayan Island through Casa Rosa is easy and convenient.

Nabat Island

Nabat Island is a must-visit destination for snorkeling enthusiasts, offering rich coral reefs and a diverse array of tropical fish. In addition to the stunning marine life, Nabat Island also boasts a beautiful white sand beach. Note that the beach is only accessible during low tide.

To get to Nabat Island, you can rent a boat from Taytay port and arrange for a tour that includes snorkeling and beach lounging. Make sure to bring your own snorkeling gear for an unforgettable underwater experience.

Pasinggatan Festival

The Pasinggatan Festival is an annual ten-day event in Taytay, Palawan, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region through ethnic dances, songs, and local cuisine. Going here is definitely worth it! This island is another perfect example of a remote area, where you could immune to nature and have the privacy you wanted. Diving and snorkeling, and trekking its peak for 15-20 minutes are some of the best activities to do here.

Its 20 bungalows are surrounded by its jungle, a beautiful garden, a white sand beach, and the calm blue waters of Taytay. Did you know that the materials used for building its bungalows are made with recycled wood? Smart, isn’t it?

Situated at the Northern area of Taytay town lies a small uninhabited island called Quimbaluadn. It is known for some rocky shoreline, white sand beach, large shade trees for a picnic lunch, and of course, its rich marine life.

Just in case you’re diving or will just stroll around, be careful stepping into sea urchins. It mostly hides on coral reef and stone, but don’t worry! Your guides are trained to heal a wound.

Trip Tip!!!

If you’re planning for a unique surprise or wedding proposal to your special someone, why not bring them here at the rock formation called Umbrella. From here, you’ll see an amazing bird’s eye view of the vast and stunning waters of Taytay! There’s a cottage that will give you a nice spot for romantic dinner. You won’t regret visiting here!

Rizal Travel Guide 2023: Where to Stay, What to Eat, Things to Do

Go east of the metro into Rizal , and you’ll discover an abundance of not-so-hidden gems just a stone’s throw away from Manila . For one, the art scene is second to none, as you’ll see traversing from Antipolo to Angono . There’s also a thriving foodie circuit, with scenic restaurants and cosy cafes popping up everywhere in Rizal.

And for all its big city appeal, this province embraces its small-town charm: Age-old churches, small family-owned hotspots, and sweeping natural vistas of mountains, forests, rivers, and waterfalls. If you haven’t yet explored this incredible place, keep reading our Rizal travel guide for 2022 to start planning your trip east.

Getting there

antipolo view rizal

Given the sheer size of Rizal, there are different ways to get to the various parts of the province.

If you’re driving, there are two major access points to the Rizal Province Area: Ortigas Avenue Extension or Marikina-Infanta Highway (formerly Marcos Highway ). However, it’s typically easier to get from Manila to the towns of San Mateo and Rodriguez by driving from Commonwealth Avenue to Batasan–San Mateo Road .

Commuters can ride jeepneys or vans to the various towns in Rizal. There are terminals located in Cubao , SM Megamall , Crossing , and Makati . If you’re coming from the city of Manila, buses like RRCG and G-Liner ply the Manila-Rizal route from Quiapo or Divisoria . Meanwhile, the bus terminal in Robinsons Antipolo also offers point-to-point trips to and from Robinsons Galleria and Greenhills . Recently, the terminal even opened routes going to Bicol , Samar , Leyte , and Bohol .

Where to stay in Rizal

airbnb antipolo rizal travel guide

Although most destinations in Rizal are close enough to the metro for a day trip, the province is a wonderful place for an overnight stay, too.

As the capital city of Rizal, Antipolo is a great base for exploring the province. Not only is the city accessible, but it’s also home to fantastic staycation spots. If you’re looking for hotel-style accommodations, there are options like LeBlanc Hotel and Resort , Date & Dine Resort , and Loreland Farm Resort .

But if you’d rather live like a local, we recommend finding a vacation rental for the weekend. From penthouse digs overlooking the metro to a serene family sanctuary with a private pool , you’ll find that some of the best staycations in the mountain city are beautifully designed Airbnbs. Try the secluded Anto House for an unforgettable farm stay overlooking Laguna de Bay and the hills of Angono.

For more suggestions on where to stay in Antipolo beyond our Rizal travel guide, read this .

airbnb teresa

Beyond the capital, there are endless options, too. One of the most well-known hotels in the region is Thunderbird Resorts in Binangonan, where travellers can expect a premium escape. Design lovers will fall in love with the Bali-inspired villa Balai Urunjing in Teresa , while Tata Amado in Morong is a quiet retreat with space for big groups.

Meanwhile, Tanay is a treasure trove of nature escapes in Rizal. Travel to some of our favourites: Camp Maysawa , Casa Balario , and Cabin in the Clouds . Outdoorsy types can also take the opportunity to sleep under the stars in the Sierra Madre. Treasure Mountain is an exceptional campsite that’s easily accessible.

For a complete list of our recommended Airbnbs in Tanay, read this .

Where to eat in Rizal

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Food is one of the main attractions of the province, so it’s not surprising that you’ll have your pick of restaurants and cafes in Rizal . Besides the traditional kakanin sold in every town, Rizal boasts a variety of places to feast on both Filipino favourites and international fare, depending on what you’re craving. Every neighbourhood has its own hidden gem to recommend and contribute to any Rizal travel guide.

Many of the well-known dining spots are in the capital city of Antipolo. Try the tasting menu at Tahanan Bistro for Filipino fusion cuisine in a stunning house by a local artist. Crescent Moon Café and Studio Pottery is another artists’ haven serving delicious Southeast Asian dishes in a garden setting. And if it’s romance you’re after, book a table at Vieux Chalet , where you’ll savour European fare while gazing out into the glittering Manila skyline.

For more of our picks on where to eat in Antipolo, read this .

Likewise, ArtSector Gallery & Chimney Café 360 in Binangonan features all the ingredients of a quintessential Rizal getaway: good food, good art, and great views. Burrow Café is also an Instagram staple; here, you’ll savour brunch favourites surrounded by lush forests, glass windows, and pretty interiors. And make sure you visit Lutong Pugon when you’re in Tanay — not just for tasty wood-fired pizza but also to browse a small art gallery on site.

Time for a caffeine fix? Delicious brew is never far from where you are in Rizal. Popular cafes in the province that top our list include Kaulayaw Café , Palpitate Coffee , and Typica Coffee .

Best things to do in Rizal

1. enjoy exploring artsy spots in angono.

angono nemiranda

Welcome to Angono, also known as the Art Capital of the Philippines. For travellers who appreciate local art and culture, this little town is a must-visit. It’s home to two renowned National Artists: Carlos “Botong” Francisco for painting and Lucio San Pedro for music.

Visitors can spend an entire day in Angono without running out of artsy places to explore. Even strolling outside is a treat, with the streets lined with vibrant murals. But start your Angono tour with the highlights, like the Blanco Family Museum which showcases an impressive collection of artworks by the Blanco family. Next, stop by the Nemiranda Arthaus to admire the works of renowned sculptor Nemecio Miranda. And, of course, you can’t miss Botong Francisco’s House for a peek at his private studio and paintings.

2. Get lost in the natural beauty of Tanay

treasure mountain camping rizal travel guide

Climbers troop to Tanay every weekend to scale the slopes of the magnificent Sierra Madre Mountain Range. It’s one of the best spots near Manila for a dose of fresh air and mountain views, so if you’re craving a nature escape, this is your stop.

Thanks to breathtaking views of a sea of clouds , Treasure Mountain is on top of many explorers’ bucket lists. Non-climbers will appreciate its accessibility; you won’t have to hike to the summit, and you can even drive your car straight to the campsite. Nagpatong Rock Formation is also popular among Insta-climbers, as the unique limestone cliffs make for unforgettable photoshoots.

hiking tanay rizal

Another beginner-friendly hike is the Mount Maynoba-Cayabu loop — this one’s for those willing to work up a sweat. Ready for a steeper climb? Mount Daraitan is stunning, albeit quite challenging for those unfamiliar with tougher hikes. Upon descending, make your way to Tinipak River at the foot of the mountain for one of the most picturesque rivers you’ll see in the country.

3. Find amazing bargains in Taytay

taytay tiangge rizal travel guide

Should you find yourself bitten by the shopping bug, put Taytay on your Rizal travel itinerary. If you love ultra-cheap buys in Greenhills and Divisoria, then you’ll definitely have a ball in this town known as the Garments Capital of the Philippines. Here, you can revamp your whole wardrobe without breaking the bank. Another plus: Taytay shopping centres open much earlier than your typical mall, so you can start hoarding as early as 8 or 9am.

Drive through Taytay, and you’ll see most of the major shopping centres, including Taytay Mega Tiangge , Bagpi Garment Centre , and the Korean-inspired My Seoul Tiangge . Dresses, co-ords, sportswear, and even colourful costumes — you’ll find them all here!

4. Indulge in the great outdoors at Masungi Georeserve

masungi georeserve baras

A conservation area tucked in the unspoiled forests and limestone formations of Baras, Masungi Georeserve offers one of the most unique and awe-inspiring adventures in Rizal. Travel to this lush rainforest landscape to witness the natural grandeur of the province.

Here’s our tip: Be ready for a true outdoor expedition. The discovery trail will take you through hanging bridges, nature trails, rope ladders, a spiderweb, and a giant hammock — the experience may be more of an effort than you expected, but we promise the photos will be worth it! Rare animals will occasionally cross your path, like monitor lizards, monkeys, and all sorts of colourful birds.

5. Spend a day at Pinto Art Museum

pinto art museum antipolo rizal

Paintings and sculptures by local artists fill the seven open-air galleries, each one bigger than the last. Every door leads to another hidden corner, making Pinto feel simultaneously cosy and boundless. Outside, art installations blend in the lush gardens. Even with weekend crowds and full parking outside, the museum doesn’t feel packed at all. Be mindful of the sloping terrain, though; the stairs throughout Pinto Art Museum may be difficult for the elderly to traverse.

TAGAYTAY TRAVEL GUIDE with Sample Itinerary & Budget

TAGAYTAY TRAVEL GUIDE with Sample Itinerary & Budget

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

Long before Manila-dwellers began a long-distance affair with the highlands of Baguio, Sagada and Kalinga, they have been in a long-standing romance with Tagaytay. It’s not a high-maintenance relationship. The physical connection is there. It is geographically close, easily accessible, and it doesn’t demand too much time or money. It’s the kind that will last over more decades.

Tagaytay is no stranger to me. I live in a Batangas town not too far away from Tagaytay. For the longest time, every time I would come back home, the van that I was riding would drive through the city. And since I started earning on my own, it would be my go-to place for clarity or peace of mind. And I’m not alone in this.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

UNDERSTANDING TAGAYTAY

Located just around 60km from Manila, Tagaytay City has always been the go-to destination for those wishing to escape the searing heat of the capital, especially in the summer season. They come here for two reasons: a cooler climate and a breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano.

Most people think that Taal Volcano is the small cratered hill on one end of the island in the middle of the lake often depicted in postcards and photographs. The truth is, that is Binintiang Malaki , just one of the volcano’s many cones and craters. Taal Lake itself was actually the caldera of an enormous ancient volcano formed after cataclysmic eruptions in the prehistoric times. The only active part now is that island in the middle of the lake called Volcano Island .

Like a giant balcony with a fantastic view, Tagaytay is perched on the northern ridges of Taal Lake, attracting thousands of vacationers and supporting its massive tourism industry. Its highways and inner alleys are lined with a wide array of accommodations, from luxury villas to budget hotels, and restaurants, ranging from fine dining to its homegrown fast food places.

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Tagaytay is also a great base for travelers who wish to explore neighboring municipalities like Alfonso and Amadeo, and even parts of Batangas like the volcano itself, Nasugbu, and Lemery.

Tagaytay takes a rectangular shape on the map, so it’s easy to navigate. At the very center of it is the Tagaytay Rotonda, from which stems out four main roads:

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

  • Emilio Aguinaldo Highway , which connects Tagaytay to Imus, Dasmarinas, and Manila.
  • Tagaytay-Calamba Road , which links the city to the towns of Laguna. If you’re coming from South Luzon Express Way (SLEX), you’ll eventually hit this road going to Tagaytay.
  • Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway , which can take you to Alfonso (Cavite) and Nasugbu and Lemery (Batangas).
  • Tagaytay-Talisay Road , which cuts across a forested slope to Talisay (Batangas), where Taal Volcano is located.

Being familiar with these roads will make your travel planning a lot easier, especially when picking a hotel and places to visit.

Here are more useful bits about Tagaytay.

  • Language: Tagalog is used by most. But English is widely understood and spoken.
  • Currency: Philippine peso (PHP, ₱). PHP100 is around USD 1.90, EUR 1.69, SGD 2.57 (as of April 2019).
  • Modes of payment: Credit cards are accepted by many establishments but CASH is still king (and queen) in Tagaytay.
  • Electricity Info: 220V, 60Hz. Plug and socket Type A.

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

WHERE TO STAY IN TAGAYTAY

In places like El Nido or Batanes, I usually don’t mind staying in a guest house with no view and no frills because I would be spending much of my time outside anyway. But Tagaytay is one of those destinations where accommodations can make or break a trip. It’s all about the ambience and the experience. Whether you’re visiting Tagaytay to unwind, attend a conference, or have a romantic weekend, it is important to consider the location.

Best Area to Stay in Tagaytay

Tagaytay has become a major tourist magnet that it has become almost synonymous with this corner of Cavite. Property-owners often market and label their hotels, lodges or guesthouses “Tagaytay” even when they are technically located in surrounding municipalities like Alfonso, Silang, and Mendez. Try to keep that in mind when searching for a place to stay.

For tourists, there are three main areas that are great bases when exploring Tagaytay and nearby towns:

  • Tagaytay Rotonda Area. Often casually referred to as simply Olivarez. It is the center of the city. As explained above, the major roads running across the city start or end here. It is surrounded by countless lodging and dining options. It is also the main transportation hub.
  • Along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway. This is a little bit farther than the Rotonda area, but this has the best view of the lake and the volcano, provided that you book a hotel on the lakeside. This is also where SkyRanch and Ayala Malls Serin are located.
  • Along Tagaytay-Calamba Road. This area is closest to tourist spots like Tagaytay Picnic Grove and People’s Park in the Sky. Lots of restaurant and hotel options too, with some also offering a good view of the lake.

Personally, I like staying along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road because it’s a lot quieter and has the best view of the lake. If you don’t trust my word, here are the top budget hotels in Tagaytay as scored by Agoda users.

Top Budget Hotels and BnBs in Tagaytay

Top Apartments and Condo for Rent in Tagaytay

If budget is an issue, then ditch the hotel and consider staying at a BnB, guesthouse, or apartment for rent, which are significantly cheaper. There’s been a considerable number of condo units for rent at Wind Residences (SMDC) along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway and Tagaytay Prime Residences near Rotonda. Here are the top rated apartments/condo units on Agoda.

How to get to tagaytay, manila to tagaytay by bus.

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

You can catch a bus to Tagaytay at the following terminals.

  • Uniwide Coastal Mall in Paranaque. Make your way to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), also called South West Integrated Provincial Terminal. Board a bus bound for Tagaytay, Mendez (neighboring town), or Nasugbu. This bus will be taking Emilio Aguinaldo Highway.
  • DLTB Terminal at LRT Buendia area (near LRT Gil Puyat Station), Pasay City. Board the bus bound for either Nasugbu or Calatagan. This will be taking South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Carmona Exit and will pass through Tagaytay.

Fare: Around P87. Travel time is 2-3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Might be much longer during rush hour.

Some important reminders.

  • DO NOT TAKE THE BUS TO LEMERY. Lemery-bound buses take the SLEX + STAR Toll. It doesn’t pass through Tagaytay. Buses are not allowed to take Diokno Highway, which connects Tagaytay and Lemery. I know this because I’m from Lemery and our house is very close to Diokno Highway.
  • If your hotel is located along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway and you’re on a Nasugbu or Calatagan bus, you don’t need to get off at Olivarez or Rotonda. You can stay in the bus and tell the conductor to drop you off at the hotel.
  • If you’re going to SkyRanch or Wind Residences , there’s a big chance the bus will not really pass by either even if the driver or conductor says so. Most buses take Mahogany Avenue, which bypasses a section of Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway approaching Mendez. Instead, they will drop you off at the Petron Gas Station. That’s okay, though, because it’s within walking distance. (SkyRanch is a longer walk but very manageable.) SEE MAP BELOW.

Manila to Tagaytay by Van

You can also ride a shared van to Tagaytay. Vans bound for Nasugbu, Calatagan or Lemery pass through Tagaytay. You can find one at the following places.

  • Starmall EDSA-Shaw. You’ll find vans bound for Lemery at the terminal in front of the mall, along EDSA.
  • Alabang. There are vans bound for Tagaytay at Festival Mall Alabang, near the Goldilocks exit. (I haven’t tried it, though.) In addition, there used to be vans bound for Lemery dispatched from the parking area of Starmall Alabang. But they already moved to the area behind the mall, near the ukay-ukay area and PNR Train counter. The number of available vans and passengers has been dwindling so you might be in for quite the wait.
  • Metropoint Mall. I’m not sure if there are still vans here going to Calatagan. There used to be, but I haven’t checked in a long time. If there still is, you can take the van going to Calatagan. If vans no longer operate here, you can cross to the other side of EDSA and catch a bus to Calatagan instead.

Whatever you take, tell the driver to drop you off in Tagaytay.

Fare is P180-P200, depending on which part of Manila you’re originating. It’s pricier because vans behave like point-to-point shuttles. Even though you’re alighting in Tagaytay, you’re still paying for the full journey. A passenger getting off in Tagaytay pays the same as another getting off in Batangas.

Important reminders:

  • If you’re taking a van to Lemery, tell the driver to drop you off in Tagaytay. Unlike their bus counterparts, Lemery-bound vans usually pass through Tagaytay. However, there are instances when the driver chooses to take the SLEX-STAR Tollway route. It usually happens when there is heavy traffic in Tagaytay/Santa Rosa areas. To be sure, let the driver know that your destination is Tagaytay so he won’t take any detour.
  • Vans don’t follow any fixed schedule. The vehicle will NOT leave the terminal unless it is full. If you’re in a hurry and there’s only one vacant seat, you can pay for it and the driver will gladly start the journey. If time is of the essence and there are a lot of empty seats, take the bus instead.

HOW TO GET AROUND TAGAYTAY

There are no taxis in Tagaytay, and Grab doesn’t have any presence either. There are only three modes of transportation available:

  • Jeepney. When traveling within the city, the most usual way is by jeepney. From Olivarez/Rotonda, you can take a jeepney to any direction. You can also ride one from any point along the highway back to the city center. Minimum fare is P9, which increases as you go father.
  • Bus. You can also take the bus if you’re coming from Rotonda area and going to Mendez, Alfonso, Nasugbu or any destination along Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway.
  • Tricycle. This is the closest thing to a taxi that you can get. You can charter a tricycle to take you straight to your destination. When I asked, “special trips” within the city cost P100. Special, meaning you won’t be sharing the tricycle with anyone else. But if you’re going to the city center, you can pay the per-person charge, which should be around P20. Maybe higher or lower, depending on distance.

THINGS TO DO IN TAGAYTAY & NEARBY TOWNS

Taal volcano.

UPDATE! Taal Volcano recently erupted and is closed to the public.

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Tagaytay offers the best views of Taal Volcano. But you know what’s better than admiring it from afar? Being on the volcano itself. From Tagaytay, you can travel to the Batangan town of Talisay, where you can charter a boat that can take you to the volcano island. Once there, you’ll start your trek to the breathtaking caldera. Good if you’re a group so you could split the expenses.

How to get there: From Tagaytay, you can charter a tricycle to take you to Talisay for P150-200. Then, find a boat, which costs P2000 (maximum of 6 pax). It’s also possible to reach Talisay by jeepney, but I don’t have the details.

I’m not fully familiar with this route, to be honest. I’ve been to Taal Volcano and hiked to its main caldera before, but I didn’t come from Tagaytay. I went straight to Talisay via Tanauan.

SkyRanch Tagaytay

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

SkyRanch is a relatively new attraction in Tagaytay. Perched on a cliff, overlooking the lake, this is an amusement park built for the enjoyment of the whole family. There are rides for kids and activities for the kids-at-heart. The most arresting structure is the SkyEye , a 63-meter ferris wheel with 32 gondolas. It’s also lined with restaurants and food kiosks!

Hours open Monday-Friday, 10am-10pm Saturday-Sunday, 8am-10pm

Tagaytay Picnic Grove

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Another family-friendly park in Tagaytay. For the longest time, this was the go-to place for relaxation, but a lot has changed (or have not changed) over the years. More attractions like the zipline and cable car ride were introduced, which are great for families. I personally think the park itself has lost its main appeal. But check it out regardless.

Entrance fee: P50

Parking Fee: P35, cars; P50, vans or jeepneys.

Zipline & Cable Car Rates: Weekdays: 1-way ride, P200; 2-way ride, P300. Weekend/Holidays: 1-way ride, P300; 2-way ride, P400.

Hut/Cottage Rental: P100, P150, P300, P500

Operating hours: 7am-7pm

People’s Park in the Sky

It used to be known as Palace in the Sky. Built under Marcos in 1979, it was supposed to be a guest house for visiting US President Ronald Reagan. But due to turning political tides back then, the “palace” was not finished and the visit cancelled. After the EDSA revolution, the name changed to People’s Park in the Sky.

Today, it hasn’t been well-maintained but remains a top attraction in Tagaytay because of the fantastic vista. After all, it stands at the highest point of Tagaytay, allowing a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape.

How to get there: From Olivarez, charter a tricycle for P150 for special trip or P50 per person.

Puzzle Mansion

Puzzle-lovers unite! The Puzzle Mansion in Tagaytay’s Barangay Asisan houses the world’s largest collection of jigsaw puzzles — all 1028 pieces of them — as certified by the Guiness Book of World Records. This was owned by Georgina Gil-Lacuna who collected these puzzles from her travels.

Entrance fee: P100

Hours open: 8am-5pm

How to get there: From Olivarez/Rotonda, ride a jeepney bound for Alfonso or Nasugbu. Get off at Brgy. Asisan. You can tell the driver to drop you off at the corner going to Puzzle Mansion. Fare: P15. Then hail a tricycle to take you to Puzzle House. Fare: P100.

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Caleruega is located in Nasugbu, Batangas, but it is easily accessible from Tagaytay. The place got its name from the municipality of Caleruega in Spain, the birthplace of the father of the Order of the Preachers, Saint Dominic de Guzman. It was built to serve as a venue for contemplation, but has made a name for itself over the years as one of the most well-known wedding venues in the country. It also harbors well-maintained retreat houses and well-manicured gardens.

How to get there: At Olivarez/Rotonda, take the jeepney bound for Nasugbu and tell the driver to drop you off at Hillcrest/Evercrest. Fare: P25. From KC Hillcrest entrance, hail a tricycle to Caleruega Chapel. Fare: P50.

Fantasy World

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

Fantasy World is an unfinished theme park project in the middle of the rolling hills of Lemery, Batangas. (Yep, it’s in Lemery!) Although the construction was halted, they were able to build the castle, which was the park’s centerpiece.

Over the past years, it has become a filming location for movies like Got 2 Believe (starring Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan) and Fantastica (Vice Ganda) and TV shows like GMA 7’s Majika (Angel Locsin, Dennis Trillo).

The rides are not operational, but the park and the castle remains Instagram-worthy. It’s a favorite prenup spot too.

Entrance fee: P100 per person. This used to be P1000 for a group of 10, but this has been changed in November 2019.

How to get there: From Olivarez, ride a jeepney or bus to Boundary (Cavite-Batangas boundary). Fare: P25 for jeepney, P39 for bus. At the boundary, ride a jeepney bound for Lemery and ask to be dropped off in front of Fantasy World. Fare: P18. If there are no jeepneys, you can take a tricycle but it’s pricey. Fare is P200 per ride (not per person).

Tip: There is a cafe nearby called “ Brewed For You .” If you’re visiting around lunch time or you just get hungry, you can stop by and have a bowl of Batangas lomi (P100) and a cup of kapeng barako (P40).

Tagaytay Food Trip

One of the things my cousins and I used to do when we were kids was count the number of restaurants when we were passing through Tagaytay. Many of them are standing strong to this day. From local bulaluhan to western restaurants to food parks to fast food chains, there’s no shortage of dining places in Tagaytay.

Leslie’s and Josephine Restaurant are two local favorites for families. Don’t forget to order a bowl of sinful bulalo! If you’re celebrating something special or you’re simply after ambiance and elegance, there’s Antonio’s Restaurant and Sonya’s Garden (farther in Alfonso).

Bag of Beans has also made a name for themselves for their generous servings of scrumptious dishes. Aside from their main branch along Mendez Crossing, they have five other branches now including one at Summit Ridge (near Robinson’s Supermarket and SM Wind Residences) and one near Silang Crossing (Athena). Try their roast beef!

taytay rizal tourist spot 2022

There budget-friendly places too. Mushroom Burger is the first that comes to mind. It’s a fast-food-style resto featuring mushrooms as their main ingredients. If you’re staying along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, you can easily get here. If you’re coming from SkyRanch, it’s just a 10-minute walk away.

SAMPLE TAGAYTAY ITINERARY

Below is a sample overnight Tagaytay itinerary, good for a weekend. It assumes you’re a party of two, splitting some of the costs and taking public transportation from Manila.

If you spend P2400 on accommodations (P1200 per person), the itinerary above will set you back around P3400 (USD 67, SGD 90, EUR 60) per person, with some allowance for incidental expenses.

Note that the bulk of the cost is the zipline, which costs P300 on weekdays and P400 on weekends. If you’re not interested in this, you can skip this too.

If you decide to skip Fantasy World and Zipline, the total cost will be pushed down to only around P2800 (USD 54, SGD 73, EUR 48) per person.

Any more helpful detailed instructions other than “van terminal near the station” for LRT Gil Puyat? Would like to find that FX terminal. (By the way, no signs for visiting commuters that says LRT Buendia, just LRT “Gil Puyat”.) Second question: do you know that the DLTB terminal there is still running services from that terminal to Tagaytay, and have not been moved to PITX?

Yosh Dimen

Hi! We checked again today and found that there are no longer vans bound for Lemery near the LRT station. But the DLTB bus terminal still operates there.

We’ll update the post accordingly.

Thanks so much for checking that question about Tagaytay transport from around LRT Gul Puyat.
