Telangana sends Rs 473 crore worth proposals to Centre for eco-tourism circuits

HYDERABAD: The State government has sent proposals to the Ministry of Tourism worth Rs 473 crore for the development of Nature Tourism Circuit Packages in the State. The Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC), which is the nodal agency for the Tourism Department, is intended to develop tourist infrastructure such as hotels, resorts, boats/ cruises, wayside amenities, restaurants, suspension bridges, sound and light shows, glow garden, musical fountains and others for the overall development of tourism across the State.

The State government allocated Rs 750 crore in the 2022-23 Budget towards the development of ‘Kaleshwaram Tourism Circuit’, including the Medigadda barrage, Kannepally pump house, Kaleshwaram temple, Annaram barrage, Annaram water canal, Sundilla barrage and Yellampally reservoir. These works are under design stage.

The State government also proposed recently to the Ministry of Tourism, for developing some other new project schemes under “Swadesh Darshan & PRASHAD Scheme for consideration with an outlay project cost worth of Rs 473 crore. In the proposals, the development of pilgrimage and nature tourism circuit in Mahabubnagar district under Swadesh Darshan Scheme with Rs 101.72 crore, the development of Eco-Tourism Circuit in Mancherial district with `98 crore, development of fort circuit in the State with an estimated cost of Rs 101 crore for development of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple,

Manyamkonda in Mahabubnagar district with Rs 50 crore, development of Pilgr image Facilities at Bhadrachalam Group of Temples at Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem district with Rs 61.84 crore and development of pilgrimage and heritage infrastructure of Rudreshwar temple (Ramappa) in Mulugu district with Rs 62.73 crore. According to data provided by the Tourism Corporation, as many as 3.2 lakh foreigners visited the State before the pandemic during the year 2019 - 2020.

Telangana: Khammam Fort to be developed as tourist attraction

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao directed the officials to submit a detailed project report (DPR) engaging expert consultants for developing Khammam Fort as a tourist attraction

Khammam: After renovation of ‘Zafar well’, a stepwell at Khammam Fort, measures were being taken for the development of infrastructure facilities at the fort. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao directed the officials to submit a detailed project report (DPR) engaging expert consultants for developing Khammam Fort as a tourist attraction.

He held a meeting with Deputy Director of Archeology and Museum Department Narayana, Telangana State Tourism Department Development Corporation engineers Ramakrishna and Sridar, District Tourism Department Officer Suman Chakraborty here on Wednesday.

The minister wanted creation of facilities like ropeway, drinking water, toilets, parking, food court, stair railing, lighting, gazebos, seating benches, power supply and other tourist facilities at the fort to attract tourists.

It might be noted that the previous BRS regime has embarked on a project to give a facelift to the historic fort built by Kakatiya rulers in 950 AD to develop it as a pleasant tourist spot. As part of that Zafar well was restored by Khammam Municipal Corporation by spending Rs 61.80 lakh.

The well used for rainwater harvesting existed at the fort’s southern side since the rule of Kakatiyas. It was during the period of Asaf Jahis a taluqdar Zafar-ud-doula (1716-1803) the well was renovated and hence was called Zafar bowli (well).

Following the directions of district Collector VP Gautham and under the supervision of municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi the Rainwater Project of Hyderabad was roped in to restore the well and works started in April, 2023.

Two 7HP motors were operated for 23 days to pump out water in the well. Later 24 workers were engaged for 90 days to remove about 2.12 lakh cubic metres of silt and garbage from the well. The well measures 60 feet in length, 70 feet deep and a width of 60 feet.

The renovated Zafar well was inaugurated on February 17.

హైదరాబాద్‌, ఏప్రిల్‌ 05: రోజువారీ పనులు, వ్యాపారాలతో ఒత్తిడికి గురవుతున్న వారు ఉపశమనం పొందేందుకు కుటుంబంతో కలిసి సరదాగా వివిధ ప్రాంతాలకు( Tourist Spots ) వెళ్లేందుకు ప్రణాళికలు వేసుకుంటున్నారు. కొంతమంది తెలంగాణ(Telangana), ఏపీలోని(Andhra Pradesh) ప్రఖ్యాతిగాంచిన ఆలయాలు, దర్శనీయ స్థలాలకు వెళ్లనుండగా.. మరికొందరు దేశంలో ప్రత్యేకత కలిగిన చల్లని ప్రదేశాలు, ఎత్తయిన కొండల వద్దకు వెళ్లి తన్మయత్వం పొందనున్నారు. ఇందుకోసం నగరంలోని ట్రావెల్‌ ఏజెన్సీలు ప్రత్యేక ప్యాకేజీలను అందుబాటులో ఉంచాయి. బస్సులు, రైళ్లు, విమాన సర్వీసుల్లో ముందస్తు బుకింగ్‌ చేసుకుంటున్న వారికి 20 నుంచి 30 శాతం స్పెషల్‌ డిస్కౌంట్‌ను అందిస్తున్నారు. చాలామంది అడ్వాన్స్‌ బుకింగ్‌లకు ఆసక్తి చూపిస్తున్నారు. మరోవైపు తెలంగాణ టూరిజం కార్పొరేషన్‌ సైతం వేసవి యాత్రలను నిర్వహించేందుకు సిద్ధమైంది.

చల్లని ప్రాంతాలకు..

వేసవికాలం రాగానే సాధారణంగా చాలామంది పిల్లలతో కలిసి తీర్థయాత్రలకు వెళ్తుంటారు. అయితే, నగరంలో ఈ సారి ఎక్కువమంది చల్లని ప్రాంతాలకు అధిక ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తున్న పరిస్థితి కనిపిస్తోంది. బంధువులు, స్నేహితులు, అపార్ట్‌మెంట్‌వాసులు సమూహంగా ఏర్పడి ముందస్తుగా టూర్‌ను ఎంచుకుంటున్నారు. కేరళ, ఊటీ, అరకు, సిమ్లా, చిక్‌మగలూర్‌, కశ్మీర్‌, డార్జిలింగ్‌, మౌంట్‌ అబు, అండమాన్‌ నికోబార్‌, లోనావాలా, షిల్లాంగ్‌ లాంటి వాటిని ఎంపిక చేసుకుంటున్నారు. అలాగే తెలంగాణ, ఏపీలోని అనంతగిరిహిల్స్‌, హార్సిలీహిల్స్‌, లంబసింగి, చింతపల్లి, కోనసీమ, మారేడుమిల్లి, అహోబిలం, పాడేరుకు వెళ్లాలని చూస్తున్నారు. వారం నుంచి పది రోజుల నిడివితో కూడిన టూర్‌లో చల్లని ప్రదేశాలను సందర్శించడంతోపాటు చారిత్రక, దర్శనీయ స్థలాలను కూడా చూసేలా ఏర్పాట్లు చేసుకుంటున్నారు.

తెలంగాణ టూరిజం ప్యాకేజీలు..

తెలంగాణ టూరిజం కార్పొరేషన్‌ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ప్రస్తుతం అరకు, ఊటీ ప్యాకేజీలను నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. ఐదు రోజుల టూర్‌లోని అరకు ప్యాకేజీలో కైలాసగిరి, సింహాచలం, రుషికొండ, సబ్‌మెరైన్‌ మ్యూజియం, వైజాగ్‌ బీచ్‌ను చూపించనున్నారు. ఇందులో పెద్దలకు రూ.6,999, పిల్లలకు రూ.5,599 టికెట్‌ ధర ఉంది. కాగా, ఈ ప్యాకేజీలో నాన్‌ ఏసీ, ఏసీ రవాణా, అరకులో వసతి, గైడ్‌ సౌకర్యం ఉండగా.. భోజనం, ఆయా చోట్ల ప్రవేశ టికెట్లు, దర్శనం టికెట్లు, బోటింగ్‌ చార్జీలు పర్యాటకులే భరించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఈ ప్యాకేజీ ప్రతీ బుధవారం అందుబాటులో ఉంది. ఇదిలా ఉండగా, బెంగళూరు- ఊటీ-మైసూర్‌ ప్యాకేజీని ప్రతీ సోమవారం నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. ఆరు రోజుల నిడివితో కూడిన ఈ టూర్‌లో టికెట్‌ ధర పెద్దలకు రూ.11,999, పిల్లలకు రూ.9,599 ఉంది. హోటల్‌ గదిలో ఒక్కరే ఉంటే టికెట్‌ ధరకు అదనంగా రూ.3వేలు చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఓల్వో బస్సులో ప్రయాణం, నాన్‌ ఏసీ హోటల్‌లో వసతి ఉంటుంది. మరిన్ని వివరాలకు tourism.telangana.gov.in సంప్రదించాలని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. కాగా, మరికొన్ని రోజుల్లో గోవా టూర్‌ను కూడా అందుబాటులోకి తీసుకొస్తామని చెబుతున్నారు.
