I bought a King Tour pak of 2005 street glide, went on eBay and bought the mounting rack for 2015. Had to redrill different holes for the mounting to fit older tour pak but it works just fine.

I have a friend who just bought one of these....no, its not the same quality as HD but its not bad, and for substantially less than oem. He got a color-matched king tour-pac and the color is incredibly close if not spot on. https://www.advanblack.com/harley-tour-pak-luggage.html

Tour pak from 2006 fit on 2018?

tour pack for 2011 street glide

  • Add to quote

I know I'm full of questions right now but you all expect this from a newbie anyway right lol? So, I have the chance to buy a tourpack from a 2006 street glide with a quick release mount and wanted to know if it would actually fit on my 2018 Road Glide? I know that I have to buy the mount for the bike so that the quick release and tourpak clicks onto. I don't think the quick release or widths on the rear have changed at all over the years right? Greg

What has changed is the way the saddlebags open. I kept my tour pack from my 2013 CVO road glide. I am now running a 2017 CVO street glide. The tour pack fits fine but the saddlebag lids wouldn't open because they would hit the bottom of the tour pack. The new style tour packs are different on the bottom. I ended up adding spacers between the mount and the tour pack. It opens fine now. You can make it work.

Thanks for the info..I never once gave thought to the new saddlebag opening causing issues. I'm going to pick it up and then try and find the kit that goes on the bike so I can test it out. Its also red so I will need to get it painted or maybe I can try and get it wrapped?

The the quick detach mounting bracket that the TP is on will not match the docking hardware on the bike. You will need to mount the TP to a bracket from 09' - 13' or the newest one for 14' and up. You will have to drill new holes in the newer style bracket to mount the TP on it but it will work. This is in addition to what Singlebeam just stated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok, thanks for the info. I just looked all this up and man was I wrong about parts not changing for the tour pack. So the quick detach won't work for me and I factored that into the whole price. Oh well live and learn, I will buy a docking kit for 2014-2017 and a new quick release for the same year. Then I will try and attach the old 2006 tour pack to it. Man, I may just try and buy a box made for my year so that I don't have to lift/raise to clear my saddlebags. 350 down the drain

Eye of the beholder. If he's fine with it, then it looks awesome. I'm not saying it does or doesn't look good, but to each his own. Hell, mount a freakin' milk carton back there if that's what makes you happy. Wade

tour pack for 2011 street glide

yeah i agree with wade. for the amount of time that i actually have a tourpack mounted on my bike, i'm okay with it. i actually do have a chopped tourpack from my 2012 that i had painted vivid black that i use in the solo position on my 2019. it doesn't look any worse than it did when it was on a 2012, imo anyways. sure, the new chopped pack is bigger and sleeker. but that was $900 that i didn't have to spend. that's a win in my book.

I saw numerous 14 up bikes running the older chopped paks or mismatched painted 14 up king and chopped while at Sturgis. Exactly, I have the chopped fro when I want it, works great, looks fine to me and I can put it back on my TC Street Glide in 10 minutes if I want it for that. I don't put much credence in statements from those that say things don't look right. Those hundo's look right to me in my wallet. To needmorebeer, the spacers that some use from Harley to raise the pak are 1" wide and 3/8" thick. They are steel flat stock. If you feel you need them, I would find some Delrin and cut that into a strip. Much lighter than the steel flat stock and works fine. I have seen a few when I was checking out other paks before I mounted mine.

tour pack for 2011 street glide

I did the same thing Klammer did on my 2015, but my TP came off of my 2002 FLHT. Painted it to match my bike, and haven't had any issues with it, or opening the bag lids. I still have about 1/2" of clearance between the TP bottom and the lids when opening them. I don't mind the old style box on mine at all, and it doesn't look clunky too big to me at all.

Good luck selling it. I made the same mistake but only paid $250. I’m still trying to sell it.

Street Glide Tour Pack question

tour pack for 2011 street glide

  • Add to quote

I have an 09 Street Glide and currently have a "shorty" sissy bar on it. It's the removable one. My question is this: if I buy a tour pack for my Glide, is it removable and also will the existing mounting hardware from the sissy bar work with the tour pack, or do I need to get different mounting hardware? I'm hoping it's compatable, but with Harley, who knows? They always make it so you have to spend more cash. :banghead Also, when I mount it, will I need an antenna relocator kit if I have a shorty aftermarket antenna? Thanks.

tour pack for 2011 street glide

funny you should ask.....i was just at the Harley shop Saturday, talking about this very thing, there is a bracket kit you have to buy in order to fit the tour pack, but it is do-able

Well, what I was looking to do is buy the tour pack to replace the shorty sissy bar, and have a seat back on the tour pack. After reading my original post, I see I wasn't completely clear so I apologize. Is replacing the sissy bar what you were talking about as well, or keeping it on the bike? Sorry for the confusion.

tour pack for 2011 street glide

^^^^ all over it , but hey you can go from sissy bar to tour pac to nothing its nice

I already had the 4 point docking hardware. At Zanottis's it was$1074 shipped.
So basically, I have to buy the 4 point docking hardware in addition to the grand I have to spend for all of the other stuff? WIth the removable sissy bar, isn't that a 4 point already? It locks onto the front 2, then clicks in place over the back 2. Or am I confused? (which is always a possiblity). I already have the removable sissy bar, so I was thinking I had the four point docking hardware already on the bike. No?

No you probably have 2 point only. The front of the sissy bar slides over shock mounts, you will need the 4 point.

However, that set-up will work but it will only be set up for solo riding (detachable solo tour-pak mount PN# 53260-09). The front hooks on the shock mount the rear will hook in the docking station. Thanks a bunch. I will need it set up for two up riding. So I guess I'll just have to spend the bucks. Now if I get it from that site that was mentioned, does Harley install it?

FYI....That site is Zanotti Harley Davidson in Butler Pa. they have an internet store. https://www.zanottimotor.com/shopping/partLookUp.html HD will do it but, I don't know your mechanical abilities but if you do any wrench'n at all it is a very easy install. Check out the instructions that come with each part...:thumb

HD will do it but, I don't know your mechanical abilities but if you do any wrench'n at all it is a very easy install. Check out the instructions that come with each part...:thumb
Well, I've never worked on a bike and, even if I can do it, I don't know if I will have the proper tools. But I imagine I could find someone who has the tools. Thanks for the site.

Yes you will be able to attach your sissy bar with 4 point. Your shorty antenna will hit tour pak. I suggest relocation kit and stock antenna for good reception. I tried the hidden in fairing and shorty, neither work nearly as well as stock.:thumb:thumb

That's what I was thinking, but the shorty actually works pretty well, at least on mine. I do still have the regular antenna though. As far as the relocation kit, do I also need some wires or relays? How much is that? Thanks a bunch.

question 1 yes you will be able to interchange them yet you will see the back mouting brackets when the sissy bar is on the bike 2 not 100 Sure but I dont think it will hit if you got a shorty I am pretty sure they make a relocation kit let me look yea they make on its pn 76312-98 and if you have the last big harley parts book its on page 477

Thanks for your help. That's why I like this forum. People go out of their way to help. :thumb:thumb:thumb

the one I just gave you moves it outwars like past the side bag and is 25 dolla

Hmmmmm....I went to Zanottis and looked up the part #, and it said it was a kit - hand held CB microphone for $76. Is that right?

shit I looked at the wrong letter in the book its 76561-09

yea, that worked out a lot better. Thanks.

Hey all, I'm new to the touring line. I upgraded from a 2016 flatboy to the 2017 street glide standard. Im looking for a decent tour pack for the bike. Any ideas? Im in the middle of buying my first home so money is somewhat tight. Any other years fit in on the 2017?

915 posts · Joined 2009. #8 · Feb 8, 2011. I agree with the others about the chopped tour pak being too small. If I were to get one it would be for two reasons: 1.) Extra dry storage. 2.) the comfy back rest for my wife. She has tour pak envy over our friend's E-Glide set up.

  14. Tour pak from 2006 fit on 2018?

I kept my tour pack from my 2013 CVO road glide. I am now running a 2017 CVO street glide. The tour pack fits fine but the saddlebag lids wouldn't open because they would hit the bottom of the tour pack. The new style tour packs are different on the bottom. I ended up adding spacers between the mount and the tour pack. It opens fine now.
