Throughout the year, the wine bar hosts courses and wine tastings conducted by experienced sommeliers. Here, you can discover, taste, and pick from over a thousand selected labels from different producers throughout Emilia-Romagna.

This wine bar and shop is housed in the basement of the 13-century historic Sforza Castle of Dozza. It’s a medieval castle in the town of Dozza, south of Bologna, making it an ideal stop after exploring the monumental fortified castle.

As you head to the basement, not only will you taste the best wines from the region, but you’ll also meet qualified sommeliers you can ask for information and advice. Then they will serve you wines based on the food they’re best served with, from those used as aperitifs to the wines that go well with meat, fish dishes, and cheeses. Situated in Croara, on the hills southeast of Bologna, Tenuta Santa Cecilia is an organic winery just a short drive from the city. About half an hour's drive from the Metropolitan City of Bologna, Umberto Cesari is a winery based in Castel San Pietro Terme. From only a twenty-hectare vineyard in the region, it expanded into 170 hectares perched in the idyllic hillsides of Emilia-Romagna. Today, Umberto is revered in Italian wine-making, offering delicious bottles of wines and unique experiences to visitors and tourists.

Manaresi is located in Zola Predosa, a municipality in the city of Bologna, about twelve kilometers from the city center. It’s a wine estate that visitors can consider an open house where they can meet, enjoy wines, chat, and deepen their understanding of wine and the area. It doesn’t have the most extensive wine collection in town, but each bottle is a feast to the senses.

Isadora was very flexible and had so much knowledge of the region. We added a tour of a Prosciutto factory in with the Parmigiano cheese and Balsamic Vinegar, which made it a full-day tour. Lots of food at every stop, all of it amazing. The small Balsamic producer she brought us to was incredible! It's so clear that Isadora has a great relationship with all of the producers she brought us to. She is a wonderful tour guide. Our tour started at the Parmesan factory and was topped off with a delicious tasting (and purchase) of the 1, 2 & 3 year aged cheese. We then went to a Balsamic house and sampled “real” balsamic. It was amazing. What a great learning experience talking to the owner and sampling her balsamic flavors. Take home the 30 year balsamic, packaged perfectly to carry on a plane - we were glad we did, there’s nothing like it in the states. We had a fantastic lunch at a restaurant that Isadora knew in a small town. The food and wine were incredible. We finished our day with a tour of the Ferrari museum, I customized this with Isadora prior to our trip and she took care of the tickets and guided us through the museum. Those cars are spectacular. We like to get a guided tour by locals, on the first day we get into a new city to get a better sense of the city and how things work, plus get the sights in. Isadora was wonderful. Her English is amazing. She showed us all the sights to see. More importantly, she loves wine and food, as do we. She gave us the all the tips on where to eat and drink. We were able to experience a locals only kind of day because of her tips. She was also very open to providing restaurant suggestions months before we got there and was helpful in giving us some tip on balsamic tastings outside of Bologna.
