Our Mission
The Pride, operating as a nonprofit, is one of the only authentic paddlewheelers in PA, let alone in the country.
Our mission is dedicated to promoting tourism, economic development, and education about the history and ecology of the Susquehanna River through scenic tours, the River School Academy, and private events.
45 Minute Public Sightseeing
Join us for a 45-minute sightseeing tour and experience the refreshing summer breeze. You can admire the scenic views through the large windows in our beautiful main salon, which is air-conditioned to keep you comfortable.
Alternatively, head to the galley to grab a soda, ice-cold beer, or some snacks and enjoy them on the second story of our boat, where you can take in the breathtaking skyline. Don’t miss the opportunity to get up close to one of only six authentic paddlewheel riverboats in the United States.
During the cruise, you’ll hear a recording that shares fascinating details about the unique history and ecology of the Susquehanna River and Harrisburg. Our main salon is decorated with pictures and relics that showcase the rich history of Harrisburg.
Meanwhile, the outer observation areas offer a chance to enjoy the summer breeze and observe the beautiful wildlife.
Bring along your friends, family, and out-of-town relatives for the ultimate sightseeing tour in Harrisburg!

About the Chief Uncas
The Chief Uncas was built for Adolphus Busch, co-founder of the famous American beer company, to enjoy cruises at his summer estate on Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, NY – the very headwaters of the Susquehanna River. After cruising those headwaters for 109 years, the Chief Uncas begins a new chapter in its life 400 miles downriver as Susquehanna National Heritage Area’s flagship tour boat! You can learn more about the history of the Chief Uncas here .
Support the Chief Uncas
Donations are essential to help SNHA provide boat tour experiences aboard the Chief Uncas for years to come. It is your continued interest and support that will make the Chief Uncas cruise the Susquehanna for another century! Your tax deductible donation to the Chief Uncas goes toward the maintenance, storage, and boat tour operations of our historic vessel.

Watch the players take the field while you nosh on classic ballpark concessions like popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy, and Cracker Jacks, and new favorites like Arooga’s hot wings. The Pride of the Susquehanna River Boat
The red and white Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat can always catch your eye as it cruises along Harrisburg’s riverfront. It's one of six remaining authentic paddlewheel vessels in the country and a true treat for its passengers. Launching from City Island, the Pride welcomes you aboard for daily 45-minute sightseeing tours with 360-degree photo ops of the Susquehanna, Harrisburg, its bridges, and the Island! At night you'll find the Pride shining bright, hosting dinner cruises, taking sunset sails, and throwing happy hour parties before moonlight floats down the river. - Pride of Susquehanna Profile
Fun is on par at Water Golf , a beautifully landscaped 18-hole miniature golf course perfect for friendly competition and panoramic views of the sunset over the Susquehanna River. The championship-style green is filled with unique and challenging holes, water hazards, sloping greens, and waterfalls that young and old and novice and experienced golfers can enjoy.
