Where is Cococay?

Cococay is located in the Bahamas.  It is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean.  Only Royal Caribbean ships can port at Cococay. Even big ships like Oasis of the Seas , Allure of the Seas , and Icon of the Seas can dock.

Cococay Complete Guide

It is about 140 miles from Miami!

What are the Best Cococay Excursions?

Even though Perfect Day at Cococay is owned by Royal Caribbean, there are still excursions offered at Cococay.

However, you will have to book directly with Royal Caribbean.  You can do this by logging into your Royal Caribbean account or booking these Coco Cay shore excursions through the app.

Cococay Excursions

This image above is what is offered for Coco cay shore excursions when you actually arrive at Perfect Day at Coco Cay.  There are not as many options compared to what you will find online.

If you know you want to experience Perfect Day at Coco Cay,  make sure to book a cruise itinerary that includes this stop!

Let's get started with the best Cococay Excursions.

1. Thrill Water Park

Thrill Water Park is one of the best Caribbean water parks! It has the tallest slide tower in North America and the largest wave pool in the Caribbean.

There are 13 slides and two main pools: Adventure Pool and the Wave Pool.

Admission Cost

The cost of a Thrill Water Park full-day pass depends on what time of year you are going and what ship you are on.  It can range from $55 to over $100.  We went during Spring Break and it was around $100 per person.

Coco Cay Water Park

Thrill water park is designed for older kids and teens.  If your kids are under 40 inches this Coco Cay shore excursion is not for you.  There are other areas on Coco Cay that are free and more fun for little ones.

All of the rides on Devils Tower require you to be 48″.  There are some family rides on the Splash Summit Tower with a height minimum requirement of 40″ if they wear a lifejacket.

Great For Older Kids and Teens

We took a 9, 13, and 15 year old and it was perfect. They loved this Cococay excursion! We played at Thrill Water Park most of the day and then checked out the other free options on the island.

2. Zip Line at Coco Cay

Perfect Day at Cococay has a 1600 ft zipline that soars above the island.  If you like a thrill zip-lining is the perfect Cococay excursion to try out.

We loved watching the participants soar over the Thrill Water Park.  It was really cool!

Admission:  $79 – $139

Prices will be higher during peak season.  You can also buy a combo ticket that includes the zip line and Thrill Water Park.  This ticket is $99 -$179.

Height Requirement : 48 inches

Minimum/Maximum weight: 75lbs to 275lbs

Duration: 45 minutes

3. Swim with Pigs

Have you ever wanted to swim with pigs? It's a thing in the Bahamas! Swimming with pigs is a Cococay excursion that you can book ahead of time.  There is also a booth located on Cococay where you can check to see if they have any open spots for the tour.

Duration: 1.5 hours

Treasure Island

If you decide to do this Cococay excursion you will take a speedboat to Treasure Island.  The island hosts the swimming pigs.  One important thing to know is that the pigs do most of the swimming (not you).  You will enter the water no more than waist deep and feed the pigs.

Prices vary depending on the time of year. This is one of the top Cococay Bahamas excursions.

4. Jet Ski Cococay Royal Caribbean Excursion

A jet ski excursion is a fun Cococay excursion! Prices vary depending on the time of year however one thing that holds true is that the driver pays a higher price and the passenger pays a much lower price.

Bahamas Jet Ski

The jet ski adventure is a tour.  There will be about 10 jet skis following a leader.  The water is so wonderful and calm around the island on most days.

5. Up Up and Away Helium Balloon

The helium balloon is an awesome Cococay excursion to consider.  The balloon actually goes 450 ft in the air.  This is the highest vantage point in all of the Bahamas.

Duration: 20 minutes

Admission : $39-$99 depending on the season

Unfortunately, when we went it was too windy.  The balloon was not operating! Weather conditions determine if this option will be available.

6. Kayak Adventure

A Cococay excursion to consider is a Kayak Adventure.  This is a guided tour.  The guide will teach you how to paddle and will show you sea life as you explore around the island.

Duration : 1.5 Hours

Admission : $43

You can also combine a Kayak Adventure with Snorkel Gear Package for $72.

7. Glass Bottom Boat Tour

The Glass Bottom Boat Tour is a great Cococay excursion.  It is perfect for those of you who do not want to swim in the ocean but still want to see all the coral reefs and tropical fish.

Duration : 1.5 hours

Admission: Starting at $42

8. Scuba Dive with or without Equipment

Scuba Diving is an option for a Cococay Excursion.  This is a one-tank dive in shallow water around the island.  The maximum depth is 40ft.  There are a lot of coral reefs and tropical fish.  There are no shipwrecks or swim-throughs.  It is a pretty basic dive.

To do this excursion you will need to be certified and have completed at least one open dive within the past year.

9. Parasail

When we went to Cococay, parasailing was not an option.  You will have to check and see if this is offered during your stop at Perfect Day.

Duration : 1 Hour Total with 5-6 minutes in the air

10. Sting Ray City

Sting Ray City is probably one of the best Bahamas excursions.  It is amazing to be so close to the sting rays.  You will get to spend 45 full minutes swimming with the sting rays.  The water can be a little chilly in the winter months.

This Cococay excursion is not always available.  You will have to look on your app when you book your cruise to see.

Are you Ready to Book a Coco Cay Excursion?

Hopefully, this helps you create a cruise plan for what Coco Cay excursion you want to do.  There are so many fun options.

If this is your first time cruising picking excursions can be overwhelming. Knowing your options helps narrow down what you are most interested in. Hopefully, you find a Coco Cay activity that you will love!

Most of the Coco Cay excursions have to be booked through the official Royal Caribbean website or App.

Have so much fun!

Oh Wow! This looks like so much fun. I’m already booking.

I had no idea they owned an island! It looks like a really fun place to go for the day though.

It is such a cool place!

This looks exciting! Haven’t been to the Caribbean or on a cruise yes. And I had no idea they owned the island. From those I would bee keen to try Zip line, but only after my sting ray and pig swim 🙂 After I would also fo for kayaking. Such a cool place to spend your day.

It is a really cool place to spend the day!

I knew about Castaway Cay – Disney’s private island – but I had no idea Royal Caribbean had one too! Wouldn’t mind trying some of those activities, especially swimming with pigs, the water park, and scuba diving.

We did the water park and it was really fun!

Wow!! This looks like so much fun! I would definitely love to swim with the pigs and the stingrays. But also the diving experience looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Perfect Day is such a fun place!

How do you book the Stingray tour – it isn’t an option on the Royal Caribbean website?

There is a booth on Perfect Day, where you can book any excursion they have available. Sting Ray City may only be available from the other Bahamas stop.

Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay guide

Erica Silverstein

What's your perfect day in port on a cruise? For some cruisers, it's relaxing on the beach, umbrella drink in hand. For others, it's all the water sports. Your kids might vote for an epic amusement park, while young professionals might be looking to let loose and party.

Royal Caribbean 's private Bahamian island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, aims to create the ideal vacation day for nearly everyone with its plethora of attractions. It features multiple beaches, a giant pool, water play areas and thrill rides for kids and adults of all ages. Plus, there's plenty of dining areas and bars to keep you fueled up for all the fun.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

A visit to the island can seem overwhelming at first. Which beach do you choose — or should you head straight for the pool? Should you book an excursion, or is there no need? Can you enjoy the island without paying extra or do you need to cough up hundreds of dollars to have fun?

In this guide, I'll take you on a comprehensive tour, so you can get a better sense of how to plan your perfect day the next time you visit Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day.

Note: Prices for activities and rentals can vary based on sail date and whether they're booked pre-cruise, on board or on shore.

Where is Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay is located in the Bahamas. It's part of the Berry Islands, northwest of Nassau and southeast of Freeport, both popular cruise ports in the Bahamas. It's roughly 140 miles east of Miami.

The island sits just to the west of Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line 's private island, and you'll be able to see that island and visiting NCL ships from Perfect Day.

The island is smaller than 1 mile long and 1/3 mile wide.

Which cruise ships go there?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Nearly every Royal Caribbean ship in the fleet will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay at some point, either during a season of Caribbean or Bahamas cruises or during a repositioning voyage from one cruise destination to another.

It's easier to list the ships that won't be visiting the island. Through April 2025, ships that won't ever dock at Royal Caribbean's private island include:

  • Brilliance of the Seas
  • Navigator of the Seas
  • Ovation of the Seas
  • Quantum of the Seas
  • Spectrum of the Seas

It used to be that only Royal Caribbean ships regularly called at Perfect Day, but now sister cruise line Celebrity Cruises is getting into the action. Beginning in April 2024, Celebrity Reflection will sail three- and four-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale that will visit the private island. Other Celebrity ships that will call on the island a handful of times in 2024 and 2025 include:

  • Celebrity Beyond
  • Celebrity Apex
  • Celebrity Equinox

How do you get to and around Perfect Day at CocoCay?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Two cruise ships at a time can dock at the long pier jutting out from Perfect Day at CocoCay. Passengers can walk off the ship via the gangway instead of taking a tender boat, as they might have to on other cruise lines' private islands.

Once on the island, pathways lead to the various beaches and attractions. It's not actually that far to get anywhere around the island, but when the Bahamian sun is beating down on you, it can feel a lot longer. According to the map, it's 14 minutes from the arrivals plaza to the farthest beach, Cove Beach. But you can have your feet in the sand within three minutes of stepping foot on the island.

For those who can't or don't want to walk the long pier from the ship to the island and from the arrivals plaza to the beach, Royal Caribbean runs a fleet of electric trams that run every 15 minutes. Stops include Thrill Waterpark, South Beach, Coco Beach Club, Oasis Lagoon, Chill Island and Up, Up and Away. Wait at the tram stations for a pickup.

What are the Perfect Day beaches?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Perfect Day at CocoCay has six beaches and the Coco Beach Club. It can be overwhelming trying to decide where to go first when you step foot on the island. But you really can't go wrong — and if you do, just get up and go somewhere else!

The beaches have different vibes, and some are closer to or farther from the arrivals plaza or other amenities such as dining and beach sports. Let that combination decide your first destination. All have complimentary lounge chairs with beach umbrellas (so nice not to have to pay for shade!) and lifeguards.

CocoCay's seven beaches are:

Chill Island

cococay bahamas shore excursions

The closest main beach on Perfect Day is Chill Island, a 5- to 10-minute walk from the arrivals plaza. Here you'll find two big and one small sheltered bays with calm water. One end has daybeds and the other cabanas to rent, and in the middle are the open-to-all lounge chairs. In the middle is the Island Market for shopping and the Chill Grill, one of the two main complimentary barbecue lunch venues on Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Breezy Bay at Chill Island

Beyond the rocky breakwaters of Chill Island is Breezy Bay at Chill Island, a smaller, less protected beach. The shore excursions and kayak rental huts are at the corner where the two beaches meet, and your jet ski tours will depart from this beach, as well. Daybeds are available to rent.

There's a Snack Shack between Breezy Bay and the Oasis Lagoon pool, but otherwise you're not so close to food on this beach.

Harbor Beach

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Harbor Beach surrounds the Harbor Lagoon, the calmest waters on the island as the lagoon only has one narrow outlet to the sea. This beach is ideal for families with young kids as it's close to both main lunch spots, the Splashaway Bay water play area and the Oasis Lagoon pool. And it's not far from the ship.

Seaside Point

cococay bahamas shore excursions

This tiny beach area on the other side of the bridge from the arrivals plaza is Perfect Day's event venue. Weddings are held here, and you can rent out the area for other private functions as well. There's no swimming outlet here, so you'll need to make the short trek to Chill Beach to get wet.

Coco Beach Club

If your idea of a perfect day is living the VIP lifestyle, you'll want to buy access to Perfect Day at CocoCay's exclusive Coco Beach Club. Your pass gets you access to the private beach, infinity pool and upscale beachside restaurant and bar.

Pricing for a Coco Beach Club day pass can vary wildly. Folks online say they're a deal at $89 per person but can run more than $200 per person. Keep an eye out for sales. Cabanas and daybeds in the beach club cost extra, but the price to rent one includes the day pass.

South Beach

cococay bahamas shore excursions

South Beach, like its namesake, is the party beach, mainly due to the floating bar just offshore and the sports courts behind. You will be dared to jump off the bar's platform with your beer or "chug, chug, chug" with your friends. Once you get here, via tram or nature trail, everything is at your fingertips. There's a Snack Shack for lunch, Coconut Willie's bar if you prefer not to swim to your cocktail, bathrooms, rentals and the aforementioned sports areas.

Past the exclusive-access cabana and daybed area of South Beach is Cove Beach, the farthest stretch of sand from the ship. No roads lead here; you have to hoof it down the beach from the South Beach tram stop.

What are the best Perfect Day at CocoCay things to do?

If you don't love the feeling of sand between your toes, you've got plenty of other ways to keep busy and get wet on Perfect Day at CocoCay. After all, not everyone's ideal day out looks the same.

The one thing that some other private islands have, but Perfect Day does not, is a spa.

Thrill Waterpark

cococay bahamas shore excursions

The first thing you will notice about Royal Caribbean's private island, including from the ship, is its giant multicolored waterslide tower rising above the tree line. This iconic landmark is the 135-foot-tall Daredevil's Peak (the tallest waterslide in North America, according to the line) and it's the signature attraction at Thrill Waterpark.

The park, accessed just off the arrivals plaza, is not included in your cruise fare and you will need to purchase entry via the shore excursions desk on your ship (or online before your cruise). Once you're paid up, just scan your SeaPass card for entry.

The thrill zone is divided into several sections. You'll find a wave pool, an Adventure Pool with watery obstacle courses, Daredevil's Peak with its seven slides (including drop slides, a nearly vertical slide and racing slides) and Splash Summit, the more family-focused slide area. Here, you can try a one- or two-person raft slide, a four-person raft slide that races up a wall before splashing back down and four-way racing slides.

You must be a minimum of 48 inches tall to ride most Devil's Tower waterslides (40 inches for the twin racing slides). The minimum height for the Splash Summit slides is 42 inches, though for the raft slides, you must be 48 inches to ride without a life jacket or adult supervision. Prepare to step on a scale before being allowed to climb the stairs up the slide towers.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Amenities in the water park include plenty of lounge chairs, cabanas for rent, lockers, a Snack Shack and a bar to give mom and dad some liquid courage.

Note: There's little natural shade in this area, and it can get hot walking between the slides or from the splashdown pool back up to the top of the slide to ride again. For maximum enjoyment, visit the water park first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon when the lines have died down. No one wants to wait 45 minutes in the hot sun for a ride.

Cruisers looking for some high-flying adventure with excellent island views can sign up to ride Perfect Day at CocoCay's zip line (for a fee). The 1,600-foot course has three segments that go over the Thrill Waterpark and the Harbor Lagoon.

You'll need to purchase zip line access as you would any shore excursion, and then check in on the island near the Thrill Waterpark entrance. Lockers are available to store your valuables while you ride. You must be at least 4 feet tall and between 75 and 275 pounds to ride.

Captain Jill's Galleon and Splashaway Bay

Little kids have their own water play spaces on Perfect Day at CocoCay, and unlike the main water park, they're free to use.

Captain Jill's Galleon is a pirate ship-shaped play structure with slides, water cannons and fountains. It's perfect for the littlest cruisers, but grownups can enjoy the views from the top.

Splashaway Bay on the island is similar to the onboard versions with a climbing structure, water sprayers, dump bucket and tame waterslides for younger visitors. Get there early if you want to snag a seat in the shade.

Children in swim diapers are allowed in all pools, beaches and water play areas on the island.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Oasis Lagoon

Tired of the beach? Perfect Day at CocoCay also has a huge pool called the Oasis Lagoon for those who prefer a more chlorinated, less wavy dip.

Families tend to stick to the far end of the pool with its sloping entry and gentle fountains. The party crowd gathers around the swim-up bar and its blaring DJ beats. (Seriously, it's the spring break I never had, and a mecca for all the bachelor, bachelorette and birthday groups.) Wandering bartenders will sell you crazy cocktails in souvenir glasses, so you won't go thirsty when you climb out of the pool to dry off.

A nice hybrid area is the section of pool on the other side of the bridge, where you can hear the music but aren't in the bar fray.

The pool has numerous little nooks where you can find in-the-water seats and tables for your drinks or undulating loungers in the shallows. The pool is surrounded by plenty of loungers, rinse-off showers, bathrooms, racks of swim vests and rental cabanas.

The closest lunch options to the pool are the Breezy Bay Snack Shack and Skipper's Grill.

Up, Up and Away balloon ride

I've visited Perfect Day at CocoCay twice, and I've never seen the Up, Up and Away tethered balloon ride in action. A spokesperson for the line tells me it "is temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice."

The colorful helium balloon can be seen around the island, and when it's operational, guests can book 10-minute rides to soar 450 feet into the air. The balloon is tethered, so you only go up and down rather than circling the island.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Beach rentals

You can rent floating mats from three stations, one on South Beach and two on Chill Island. You can pick up snorkel gear for personal use at the snorkel shack on Chill Island near Seaside Point.

Sports and games

If you need a free adrenaline boost on the island, you can get your competitive spirit going at two sports pavilions on Perfect Day at CocoCay. One is located at Breezy Bay and the other on South Beach.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

At the pavilions, you'll find hard and sand courts for basketball, volleyball, cornhole/baggo and other games. All are free to use.

You will not find any crew-led games for kids on the island.

What are the excursions at Perfect Day?

In addition to the major activities and attractions on island, you can book several excursions that will take you off the island — or at least out into the water. Personally, I'd save my excursion budget for a different island since the complimentary pools and beaches are so nice (or for the water park), but you've got a few nice options if you're interested in water sports.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Tours include:

  • Certified scuba dive with or without equipment
  • One-hour glass bottom boat ride
  • Guided kayak adventure in two-person kayaks
  • Kayak and snorkel adventure combo (guided kayak plus independent snorkeling)
  • Guided Wave Jet tour on a Sea-Doo jet ski
  • Reef snorkeling by boat
  • Sandbar getaway with snorkeling and water toys
  • Swiming pigs tour in the northern Berry Islands

Does Perfect Day at CocoCay offer cabanas to rent?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

If you want to reserve a private space on the island, you have options ranging from beach beds to overwater cabanas. You'll need to decide what type of exclusive hangout you desire, as well as where on the island you'd like it be.

Note that pricing will vary by cruise and cabana location. Royal Caribbean lists prices per daybed or cabana, not per person.

Royal Caribbean rents beach beds on Breezy Bay, Chill Island and South Beach. The double beds sit atop a wooden platform with a full roof and open sides, with curtains for some measure of privacy. Your rental comes with two lounge chairs with an umbrella, two floating mats, a cooler with four complimentary bottles of water and towels.

The price you'll pay is per bed, not per person, and each bed can accommodate four people.

If you're looking for a more substantial retreat, you also have several options for cabana rentals on Perfect Day.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Chill Island cabanas

The Chill Island Cabanas are located at the end of Chill Island by Breezy Bay, farthest from the ship. The attendant noted that while they're situated on a lovely protected bay, the cabanas are far from the island's amenities. If you want to hide away in your cabana all day, they're a great choice, but if you want a more interactive or social beach day, South Beach might be a better bet.

Each cabana is a wooden hut with an open front, thatched roof and front patio area. The interior is furnished with a sectional sofa, cooler stocked with complimentary water and a storage chest. Four lounge chairs sit out front.

A cabana attendant will bring you drinks (at going rates) and food from the Snack Shack menu, as well as towels during your stay.

Each cabana can hold eight people for the same price. You can add two more (for a total of 10) for $50 per person more.

Oasis Lagoon cabanas

The Oasis Lagoon cabanas are identical to the Chill Island versions, except they're nestled in the greenery on the outskirts of Perfect Day at CocoCay's gigantic pool. They're a great place to crash after some hard partying by the swim-up bar, or for parents to relax with kids tuckered out from playing in the pool's shallow area.

These cabanas have a hard limit of eight people.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

South Beach cabanas

The South Beach cabanas are the same thatched-roof hideouts that you'll find on Chill Island or by the Oasis Lagoon, but they're located on the middle of South Beach between Coco Beach Club and the South Beach daybed area.

The cabana base rate is for eight occupants, but you can pay $50 extra per person to add another two guests (for a total of 10).

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Thrill Waterpark cabanas

The Thrill Waterpark cabanas are the perfect places for parents to relax while their offspring get wet and wild on the slides and in the active pools.

The brightly colored cabanas are scattered throughout the water park. They're more of a basic design than the thatched-roof cabanas — simply a platform with four wooden posts holding up privacy curtains and an umbrella-style roof. The cabanas are outfitted with a sectional sofa, resort chairs, two outlets and a cooler and a couple of lounge chairs with a shade umbrella in front.

Cabana attendants will bring you food and extra-fee drinks. Your fee includes passes for up to six people to the water park. You can invite two more guests for $50 per person, but they will also need to purchase water park day passes individually.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Coco Beach Club is the exclusive, restricted-access area of Perfect Day. You have three options for how to gain entrance to this private beach area with its infinity pool and upscale restaurant.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

The most affordable option (though it's not cheap by any means) is to purchase a day pass to the beach club. This will give you access to the pool, restaurant and bar, and the loungers and umbrellas on the private beach area.

Or, you can upgrade with a beach cabana, located along the exclusive beachfront. These are a more upscale version of the cabanas found throughout the island.

The thatched roof huts are open on all four sides with privacy curtains, and feature a deck with four wooden loungers and a shade umbrella. Inside, relax on a chic sectional sofa or padded resort chairs. There's locked storage, a minifridge, charging outlets and complimentary snorkel gear.

If you really want to live it up, go all out with a floating cabana, which Royal Caribbean claims are the first overwater bungalows in the Bahamas. They're set on a dock jutting out from the beach and have similar furnishings to the beach cabanas with the addition of a circular dining table for four and a wet bar. Each also has its own slide into the sea, a two-person overwater hammock and a freshwater shower.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Each of the 10 beach cabanas and 20 overwater bungalows accommodates eight people and comes with the services of a cabana attendant. For the overwater cabanas, if you wish to add one or two guests, you'll need to pay $50 per person extra plus the cost of a Beach Club pass. Even in this extra-free enclave, you'll need to pay extra for all drinks you order (unless you previously purchased a beverage package).

Is food included on Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Yes, multiple venues serve a complimentary barbecue lunch on Perfect Day at CocoCay.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

The two main venues are Skipper's Grill (overlooking the Harbor Lagoon, just past Splashaway Bay on the main path) and Chill Grill (between Harbor Beach and Chill Island). They serve lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with stations for burgers and hot dogs, grilled chicken, tacos, salads, fruit and desserts (don't miss the caramel brownies). Both have drinks stations, soft-serve ice cream machines and a bar.

Seating is at colorful picnic tables with shade umbrellas.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

You don't have to trek across the island for lunch if you've chosen lounge chairs away from the grills. Three Snack Shack outposts — one inside Thrill Waterpark, one on South Beach and one between the Oasis Lagoon and Breezy Bay — ensure you're never far from a meal.

The Snack Shacks are huts with multiple order-up windows where you can access a more limited menu than at Skipper's or Chill Grill. You can choose from sandwiches (burgers, hot dogs, crispy chicken), various salads, mozzarella sticks, french fries and dessert (including funnel cakes). You'll find drinks and fruit, too.

Take your selections back to your lounge chair or grab a spot at a nearby picnic table. Snack Shacks are open longer hours, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

If you've paid for access to the Coco Beach Club, you will dine at its upscale restaurant and can order dishes such as lobster and steak unavailable at the island's grill venues.

Unlike the other restaurants on the island, Beach Club passholders still need to make reservations for lunch times at the restaurant. Make them on board on embarkation day; if you wait until you're on the island, the earlier dining times will likely be taken.

Captain Jack's, the large bar located at the entrance of the park, has a food counter serving chicken wings and steak fries for an extra fee from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It seems silly to me to pay for food at the bar when the complimentary Skipper's Grill is a short walk away, but if you're buzzing and don't want to leave the bar, know you have snacks close at hand.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Does my drink package work on Perfect Day at CocoCay?

You are never far from a beer or frozen cocktail on Perfect Day at CocoCay. Even better, unlike at some other cruise line private islands, your onboard drink package is accepted on the island. Just show your SeaPass with its special sticker and you won't have to pay another cent for your pina coladas or White Claws.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

The island has eight named bars and five nameless bar stands. Roving waiters will take orders and bring drinks to your lounge chair, as well.

The bars on Perfect Day at CocoCay include:

Captain Jack's Bar: The first bar you'll see, right by the arrivals plaza, has covered and uncovered seating, a row of swing seats and a stage for live music.

Oasis Lagoon Bar: The pool's swim-up bar is usually packed, but if you get out and walk around to the land-based side, you'll find hardly any customers.

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Wacky Seagull and Wacky Seagull Jr. Bars: These bars service either end of Chill Island. You'll find one by the beach rentals kiosk and the other by the shore excursions kiosk. The signature drink here is the Coco Loco.

The Cracked Coconut Bar: This bar serves the Harbor Beach crowd and is a fun place to watch the zip liners come flying by.

Floating Bar: Its name tells you all you need to know. This bar on a raft just off South Beach quickly gets loud and rowdy with the party crowd. It's surrounded by palapa-covered tables in the water and circular floating mats.

South Beach Bar: This is the closest watering hole to the South Beach cabanas and daybeds and Cove Beach.

Coconut Willie's Bar: The land-based bar on South Beach is close to the sports courts.

Is there shopping on Perfect Day at CocoCay?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Whether you're looking for souvenirs or need to pick up the sunscreen or swim goggles you forgot to pack, you can find what you're looking for at the shops of the CocoCay Island Market between the central portion of Chill Island and Harbor Beach. You can also get your hair braided.

There's also a CocoCay Logo Shop across from Splashaway Bay, by the back exit of the water park.

All shops will accept U.S. dollars or your SeaPass card as payment.

What additional amenities will I find?

cococay bahamas shore excursions

Restrooms and beach showers are scattered throughout the island and are well marked on the maps. You'll also find towel exchange kiosks, designated smoking areas, lockers and first aid stations.

You can check out towels from the ship or once on shore, but you must return to the ship with the same number of towels you took with you and check back in with the towel station just after the security screening. You cannot return wet towels on the island unless you initially checked them out from an onshore kiosk.

The island is Wi-Fi-enabled with Royal Caribbean's Voom internet. Your onboard Wi-Fi package will get you access on the island as well.

Beach wheelchairs and beach strollers with extra-thick tires for navigating Perfect Day at CocoCay's sandy shores are available to borrow throughout the island.

Can you stay overnight on Perfect Day at CocoCay?

You can only have a perfect day and not a perfect night on CocoCay.

You'll see plenty of beds on the island, but they're daybeds for rent. Your cruise ship will leave the island in the afternoon, and the only people who spend the night are a handful of staff members who live on the island.

What's the typical weather like ?

The Bahamas has great weather year-round. Expect highs in the low 80s during the winter and low 90s during the summer. You won't find a ton of natural shade when walking around Perfect Day at CocoCay, and the sun is incredibly strong. Reapply sunscreen more often than you think you need to, to avoid burning!

The rainiest months here are June, August and September. Hurricane season runs June through November, with the peak time for storms August through October. Your ship will not call on Perfect Day if conditions are unsafe.

Don't let a rainy forecast get you down. Like in other tropical destinations, rain showers tend to pass quickly and you can see them coming. I got caught in a downpour for about an hour on my most recent visit, so I hid under an umbrella and ate lunch. Before and after the shower, I enjoyed the beach, pool and attractions with no problem.

Note that if lightning is seen, the lifeguards are required to send everyone out of the water until they get the all-clear.

Perfect Day at CocoCay may not show up on major weather websites, but you can search on the Berry Islands or Great Harbour Cay in the Bahamas to come close.

Can I see a Perfect Day at CocoCay map?

Sure! Here is a map of the island to help you plan your day. You can also find a map in your Royal Caribbean app, but it's awkward because you have to zoom in too much to see anything clearly. Your best bet is to pick up a paper map at your ship's shore excursions desk before you head out to the island.

Perfect Day at Cococay Bahamas Island Overview

The Perfect Day at Cococay is less than a mile long from east to west and less than 480 yards (0.43 km) from north to south, which makes it perfect for one-day exploration. In 2019 the island was completely renovated and expanded by the Royal Caribbean and transformed into a cruise guests’ paradise where you’ll find breathtaking beaches, a freshwater pool, a thrilling waterpark, a great variety of activities and restaurants offered to guests free of charge or with an extra cost.

A maximum of two cruise ships can dock at a time in CocoCay port. Overnight options are not offered, however, new projects are on the way.

Getting Around CocoCay Island

  • Cococay is the Royal Caribbean’s private destination and is perfectly safe . Royal Caribbean hired local people to work on the island, mostly coming from the Bahamas and South Africa. All crew are very friendly and strategically positioned throughout the island to ensure your time ashore is as stress-free as possible.
  • The pier is flat and suitable for people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users. The walk to the entrance to the island is short, however, if you don’t walk to walk you can use a free little tram/golf cart that runs from the ship to the entrance of the island.
  • Additionally, there is a complimentary tram service all around the island. These trams run every 15 minutes and have multiple stops at major attractions including Arrivals Plaza (at the entrance, right by the main entrance to the Thrill Waterpark), Chill Island, Oasis Lagoon, South Beach, and Coco Beach Club. The tram line is displayed on a Cococay map as the blue line, however, friendly and knowledgeable drivers can stop and pick you up even if you just wave to them, regardless of the location! Some trams provide  a ramp for wheelchair users. If you need an accessible tram, just ask any of the crew and they will arrange it for you. Guests should stay away from the road lines as the trams pass by frequently.
  • You will also find multiple wheelchair stations around the island with a large number of wheelchairs available free of charge. The wheelchairs have huge wheels and are beach-friendly.
  • Perfect Day on CocoCay is divided into two main parts: the “thrill area” and the “chill area” . The cruise line has ensured that passengers can easily get from point A to point B on marked and paved paths.
  • The housekeeping department onboard the ship normally provides the Cococay maps in all staterooms before the arrival and they are also provided by the entrance of the island. Sometimes, they are also available at the Shore excursion desk. Getting around the island is very easy, you will find maps and signs everywhere, together with a friendly, approachable crew to help you out.
  • You can also download the PDF map from the Royal Caribbean’s official website .

1. Free Things to Enjoy at Perfect Day at CocoCay Bahamas

One of the best things about Perfect Day at Cococay is that you don’t have to pay extra to spend an enjoyable and memorable day on the island. Below are the free activities and facilities that you can enjoy on Perfect Day at Cococay:

1.1. Chill Island

Chill Island Beach is a quiet part of Cococay, ideal for those of you who want to spend a classic beach day away from the bustling thrill zone. The beach is long and sandy with lots of shade and there is no loud music which makes it ideal for families with small kids. The water temperature is just perfect for swimming and relaxing.

Here, you’ll find relaxing hammocks to enjoy free of charge, complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas, a Straw Market where you can buy souvenirs from the locals (bring some cash for this), the relaxing Wacky Seagull bar with a lot of shade, as well as Chill Grill restaurant.

Complimentary lockers and swim vests are available on Chill Island beach, as well as the Snorkel Shack where you rent snorkel equipment for an extra cost. The place has a first-aid station and a floating mat station and you can also rent beach beds and cabanas (with concierge service available) for an additional fee if you want to have more privacy.

Chill Island is located on the left side of the island from the Arrival Plaza (the entrance) and you can reach it via the clearly marked green pathway. This beach is closer to the pier and activities than South Beach.

Chill Island Perfect Day at Cococay

1.2. Breeze Bay Beach

In the north part of Chill Island, there is another beach called Breezy Bay and here you’ll find a tour area where you can rent kayaks, paddleboard, or go for a jet ski tour. There is a Floating bar where you can relax in shallow waters and enjoy a cool drink (limited selection of drinks – beer and sodas) and more beach beds.

This area also features volleyball and basketball courts where you can play free of charge, as well as some other activities. There is also a Snack Shack where you get some complimentary takeaway food.

Breezy Bay Beach, Cococay Bahamas

1.3. Chill Grill

Chill Grill restaurant is one of the main places to eat. It offers Windjammer-like, buffet-style food options and it’s complimentary for all guests. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, Cuban sandwiches, freshly-made tortillas, a toppings bar, a selection of salads, fruits, desserts, a beverage station, a bar and so much more!

The restaurant usually opens around 11:30 am and closes around 3 pm. You can eat your food on the beach or under the shaded areas where you’ll find a large number of tables and benches.

1.4. Oasis Lagoon

The incredible Oasis Lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean that can accommodate up to 1750 people at a time! This massive pool is located right in the heart of the island and one of the main attractions is the swim-up bar where you can get cool drinks (including Coco Loco – the Cococay specialty) and listen to the live DJ music while chilling in this tropical paradise.

If you come earlier, you can get some awesome complimentary chairs in the water (on a first come first serve basis). Around the pool, you’ll find complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas, palm trees shaded areas, and if you want to upgrade – you’ll find cabanas for an extra charge, too.

Oasis Lagoon Cococay Royal Caribbean

1.5. South Beach

South Beach is located next to the Coco Beach Club and offers a relaxing beach experience with a stunning beach, complimentary beach beds/umbrellas, a bar and Snack Shack restaurant, and cabanas for an extra fee.

1.6. Snack Shack

There are 3 Snack Shack restaurants on Perfect Day at Cococay (Oasis Lagoon, Thrill Waterpark, South Beach) and they offer takeaway food choices, such as giant chicken sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, burgers, light salads, French fries and desserts.

1.7. Skipper’s Grill

This restaurant has a similar concept to Chill Grill and is located in the heart of the island, between Oasis Lagoon and Harbor Beach. The food is complimentary and consists of sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, salads, desserts and more. The restaurant normally opens around 11:30 am and is open until 1:30/2 pm.

Skipper’s Grill has a cool deck where you can bring your food and enjoy great views of Harbor Beach.

1.8. Harbor Beach

Harbor Beach is kind of an inner inlet of Perfect Day at Cococay, an amazing option for non-swimmers or kids as there are no waves. The beach here is calm and sandy, with a large number of beach chairs and umbrellas. It is located in the center of Perfect Day at Cococay, next to the Skipper’s Grill restaurant and Oasis Lagoon.

Harbor Beach Cococay

1.9. Splashaway Bay

Right outside the Thrill Waterpark, there is a complimentary play area for children with pools, fountains, mini waterslides, buckets, water cannons and many more ways to get soaked! The kids will love it, it’s complimentary and you’ll find benches around so you can sit and relax while your kids are having fun.

1.10. Captain Jill’s Galleon

This realistic life-size galleon is another complementary splash area for children with waterslides, geysers, water cannons and tunnels.

1.11. Straw Market

The straw market is available on Chill Island and here you can browse for local souvenirs, t-shirts, sun protection, and local Bahamian souvenirs. Local people sell souvenirs and here they are not pushy like they may be in other Bahamian ports or Labadee . Make sure you bring cash, although some stands may take a SeaPass card or credit card.

1.12. Other complimentary things at Perfect Day at Cococay:

  • Beach chairs and umbrellas
  • Beach-accessible wheelchairs
  • Freshwater showers
  • Beach towels
  • Life jackets
  • Tram service

2. Things to Enjoy at Perfect Day at Cococay Bahamas for Extra Cost

2.1. coco beach club.

This stunning beach club offers an exclusive, resort-like experience for those of you who seek to upgrade their Perfect Day at Cococay experience.

This luxury beach complex features an ultimate infinity pool, a private beach, lounge areas, a bar, and an exclusive fine dining restaurant serving upscale food including steaks, lobsters, Caribbean specialties, amazing toppings and so much more!

To enjoy the day beds and in-pool loungers by the infinity pool, head there early in the morning as these are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Coco Beach Club, Cococay Bahamas

To access the Coco Beach Club you need to purchase a day pass which includes access to all amenities (sunbeds/umbrellas/loungers), the private beach and the restaurant. The beverages are not included unless you have purchased the drink package which works in Coco Beach Club like in all other bars on the island.

The club has a limited guest capacity, up to 400 people maximum when two ships are in port, so it’s highly recommended to pre-book your admission pass before the cruise.

You should also reserve the preferred time for your lunch because the capacity in the restaurant is limited. You can do this onboard or at the Coco Beach Club, but it’s recommended to do it before you get to the island to make sure you have your table. If you pre-book the day pass, you’ll get a letter in your stateroom on embarkation day explaining the whole procedure.

Coco Beach Club also offers two types of cabanas for an additional fee (below). When you purchase cabanas, you get free admission to Coco Beach Club. Both types of cabanas are wheelchair accessible.

  • Beach cabanas – Standard cabanas with a minibar, lounge area, beach chairs, and hammocks included.
  • Floating cabanas – Luxury, spacious Maldives-style cabanas designed for up to 8-10 people, with floating hammocks, private waterslides, personalized service (such as food and drink delivery by the cabana attendant), freshwater showers, and more.

The zipline sign-up hut is located right next to the Thrill Waterpark and the activity requires a fee. This amazing zip line is 1600 feet long and the ride on each of them takes about 20 seconds. The lines provide an amazing view of the Thrill Waterpark and the whole island. There may be combo packages offered by the cruise line (Zip Line and Thrill Waterpark), but check this with the Shore excursion desk.

Wave runners/Jet skis

Wavehut Water Sports Center is located in the north part of Chill Island (Breezy Bay Beach). This activity is guided by a professional, knowledgeable instructor and it is mandatory to follow the specific itinerary for safety reasons. Before the tour, you’ll be provided with a safety briefing.

  • A driver’s license is required and there are strict weight restrictions.
  • Jet ski activity is based on weather conditions, meaning that the activity may be canceled or rescheduled (in case it’s canceled, you get a full refund).
  • It is forbidden to consume alcohol before the ride.
  • Lockers are available on the spot, however, it’s not recommended to wear valuables on you.

Why is Celebrity Cruises visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Celebrity Cruises is forever inspired to provide travelers a better way to experience the world around them. Part of this effort means reimagining what cruising could be, from thoughtfully designed staterooms and venues that bring people together, to exciting new programming, world-class entertainment, a robust food and beverage program, and itineraries that take guests to bucket-list places.

For the first time ever, Celebrity Cruises will bring guests to one of the Caribbean's most exclusive destinations, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's award-winning private island - a destination like no other in the Bahamas.

What is Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Perfect Day at CocoCay is a private island paradise in the Bahamas that’s entirely yours to explore during your day here. From the largest freshwater pool in the region to a swim-up bar, luxurious overwater cabanas, water slides, multiple dining options, and soft, white sand beaches, Perfect Day at CocoCay is a curated playground offering a day in the sun for every taste.

Watch a full virtual tour here  or browse and print the Wayfinding Map .

What kind of activities will I find at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Perfect Day at CocoCay is divided into neighborhoods, so it’s easy to choose the right setting for your mood—or to roam between each one.

Thrill-seekers should head straight to Thrill Waterpark and Splash Summit, a colorful cluster of 14 slides and watery activities. Plunge down the white-knuckle Daredevil’s Peak, the tallest slide in North America, at a dizzying 135 feet.

Fly down the Twister on a two-person raft, or race friends down the four-lane Splash Speedway. Unwind in a beach chair, nestled on the shore of the vast wave pool in between rides.

The vast Oasis Lagoon has different coves and three swim-up islands, each one with its own atmosphere. You can relax in a beach chair at the water’s edge, or a private cabana in which to relax while your kids splash around at the shallow slope of the lagoon. Every detail has been thought of, right down to the underwater music you’ll hear if you dive down.

Coco Beach Club is a serene, premium space with a shimmering infinity pool, elevated dining in the Club House, its own powdery beach, with beach chairs and gorgeous private cabanas to rent, including an exclusive cluster right over the aquamarine water.

Chill Island is a blissful beach venue with luxurious day beds in Breezy Bay, where you’ll find private cabanas for rent, snorkel gear from the Snorkel Shack, and wave runners to play on.

South Beach offers a happy combination of action and relaxation. Head for beach volleyball, basketball, or simply soaking up the sun on a beach chair.

Refuel at the Snack Shack, or head to one of the three bars, including the Floating Bar.

For the ultimate view of this paradise, take to the skies at Up, Up and Away, a helium balloon that gives you a bird’s-eye perspective from 450 feet up. Don’t forget your camera for this one; the views are out of this world.

What should I pack for a day at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

You’ll need very little for your fun day ashore. Pack a beach towel, plenty of sunscreen, your SeaPass Card (for purchasing food, beverages, and activities), and some cash if you think you might like to buy souvenirs from the Straw Market.

Remember to bring closed-toe shoes if you want to ride the zipline. Lockers are available for storing personal belongings, and you can always exchange your beach towels for fresh ones.

Here’s a list of other items you might be curious about:

SeaPass® and cash - Not only will you need your SeaPass® card to exit and re-board the ship, you’ll use it to pay for things throughout the island, and if you visit the Coco Beach Club. Please note, there’s also an island market with local Bahamian crafts, where items can be charged with your SeaPass card (until 2:30 p.m.) and cash (USD) is always accepted.

Driver’s License - If you plan to operate a Wave Jet during a guided tour, guests ages 16 to 20 will need to present a valid driver’s license (boat, scooter, and learner permit not accepted).

Speakers - You’ll find music to set the soundtrack to your day playing throughout the island. But if you’d prefer to listen to your own selection of music, we ask that you please do so with personal headphones.

Towels - Beach towels are available onboard your ship, and can be brought onto the island, which you can refresh throughout the day as desired, at one of three towel stations. Since beach towels are provided onboard based on a check-out/check-in system, you should bring your towels back to the ship with you. Guests who have rented cabanas will have towels at the cabana and may leave the towels there upon departure.

Sun protection - Perfect Day at CocoCay offers complimentary umbrellas and shade structures in many places, but The Bahamas' sun can still be intense. Bring sun protection gear like hats, sunglasses, rashguards or other types of UPF clothing, and sunscreen. There are a lot of water features at Perfect Day at CocoCay, so be sure to reapply sunscreen often.

Proper footwear - Don’t forget proper shoes if you’re planning to ride the Zip Line at Perfect Day at CocoCay. Your shoes must have a closed toe area and be secured around the back of your foot as well. Sneakers or enclosed water shoes are great options.

Bug repellent - Depending on the time of year and time of day, there may be mosquitos, flies or other insects in some areas of the island.

Medications - Bring any prescription medications you may rely on. There are medical facilities on the island, but they may not have your specific medications on hand.

Supplies for baby - Don’t forget bottles and formula, diapers and swim diapers, wipes and sun protection gear for babies and tots.

Strollers - Complimentary beach strollers are located throughout the Island and are available on a first come first served basis.

Drones - Guests are welcome to bring drones on their cruise for use on land only and outside of the port area. However, drones are not to be operated onboard the ship at any time, nor on Royal Caribbean’s private destinations: Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas or Labadee®, Haiti.

While onboard, drones must be stored safely in the stateroom. Drones used on the ship will be confiscated until the end of the cruise. A Guest Conduct Policy warning will be issued and guests may be subject to disembarkation at their own expense for onboard drone usage.

GoPro® Cameras - You are welcome to record your Perfect Day at CocoCay memories with your GoPro camera. However, for your safety, personal electronic devices of any kind are not allowed on any of the following attractions:

All water slides at Thrill Waterpark

Adventure Pool in Thrill Waterpark

Splashaway Bay

Captain Jill’s Galleon

On the island’s Zip Line, riders who wish to wear a GoPro must bring their own helmet mount that attaches securely to the helmet or secure GoPro to the body. If the staff notices the camera prevents a guest from safely participating in the activity at any time, they may ask the guest to remove or adjust the camera.

How easy is it to get around and walk from one area to the next?

Perfect Day at   CocoCay is custom designed for cruise guests, so getting around is easy. It’s also fun to stroll through the different neighborhoods, experiencing the atmosphere in each one.

There’s an accessible tram service for the convenience of all guests, which runs every 10 minutes near the Arrivals Plaza, and complimentary beach-friendly wheelchairs and beach strollers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The walk from the ship along the jetty, if you don’t take the tram, is about five minutes to the Arrivals Plaza. From here, the furthest spot on the island is around ten minutes’ walk.

Tram route and all walk times are indicated on the island signage as well as on the  Wayfinding Map .

Guests with accessible needs will also find  lifts in our pool areas, lower countertops at our bars, ramps to the dining area, accessible restrooms and showers.

You can always head back to the ship if you want a break from the sun, and return to the beach at your leisure. You’ll have a whole day at Perfect Day at CocoCay to enjoy yourself.

Does Perfect Day at CocoCay have Wi-Fi?

Yes, Perfect Day at CocoCay has the same fast Wi-Fi as you’ll find onboard Celebrity’s ships, with different speeds available according to what you’ve purchased; for example, if you have chosen All Included, you will automatically be able to access Wi-Fi on Perfect Day at CocoCay. Service may be limited on some of the beaches, but you should nonetheless be able to start uploading envy-inducing Instagram snaps as soon as you step ashore.

I’d like my day at Perfect Day at CocoCay to reflect the level of luxury I enjoy in The Retreat on board. Is this possible?

Guests looking for an elevated experience during their day in paradise can choose Coco Beach Club, an exclusive retreat where every moment is infused with luxury.

Float under a tropical sun in the infinity pool, or sip cocktails by the water’s edge. Enjoy freshly prepared dishes at the clubhouse. Upgrade your experience even further with a sumptuous private cabana, complete with cabana attendant service.

Or treat yourself to the ultimate indulgence: an overwater cabana, the first in The Bahamas. This little slice of heaven includes overwater hammocks, showers, and a private slide to swish down into the warm, crystal-clear ocean below.

There’s no better spot to try the Coco Cuvée signature cocktail, a heady mix of Chandon Sweet Star, Malibu rum, coconut water, and pineapple juice.

Make sure you purchase Beach Club admission pre-cruise via  Celebrity Cruise Planner , as entry is subject to availability. You may also book a cabana once onboard, if spots are still available. And remember when entering the Beach Club, you’ll need to present your SeaPass® card.

Can I make advance reservations for any of the facilities at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Yes, you can book experiences at Perfect Day at CocoCay just as you can shore excursions, via  Celebrity Cruise Planner  online or in the app. These include entry to the Thrill Waterpark, the zipline, the Up, Up and Away balloon, the Coco Beach Club, and private cabanas. If you decide to be spontaneous and treat yourself to any of these on the day of your visit, you can make reservations while on the island (subject to availability).

What kind of bars and restaurants can I expect at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

There’s no shortage of choice for every taste at Perfect Day at CocoCay. In between racing down the waterslides at Thrill Waterpark, refuel at the Snack Shack, serving up burgers, hot dogs, and salads. There’s a second Snack Shack at Chill Beach.

Dig into sizzling barbecue dishes, sandwiches, salads, and fresh tacos at Chill Grill in the Chill Island neighborhood, or Skipper’s Grill on the opposite side of the island, which has the same enticing menu.

Captain Jack’s, near the Arrivals Plaza where you’ll step ashore, has an all-day party atmosphere, with cooling Coco Locos, chicken wings, steak fries dipped in fiery sauces, and live jam sessions. There’s a charge to dine here.

If you’ve elevated your experience to the Coco Beach Club, you’ll enjoy coffee and pastries in the morning, and an inviting menu with a Caribbean theme at lunchtime, offering dishes like lobster rolls.

You’ll find gluten free and vegetarian options available at the Coco Beach Club restaurant as well as options to suit most dietary needs. Kosher foods are not prepared on Perfect Day at CocoCay — however, kosher requests can be accommodated onboard Celebrity Cruises ships.

How do I pay for the different experiences at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

We recommended pre-booking and purchasing limited-availability experiences at Perfect Day at CocoCay pre-cruise or onboard. You will pay for any activities you enjoy at Perfect Day at CocoCay using your SeaPass card, so any extras will be charged to your onboard account, just as they are on the ship. If you’ve purchased a drink package, this will apply on the island, too. Dining throughout the island is complimentary, except for the Captain Jacks and the Coco Beach Club, dining is included in the purchase of admission to Coco Beach Club.

Bring cash if you want to shop for souvenirs at the Straw Market. Also, don’t forget that many activities and places to eat are complimentary, including the Snack Shacks, the Chill Grill, and Skipper’s Grill.

Water and juice are available in all venues at no charge, lockers, and sun umbrellas are complimentary.

Will my All Included package be valid at Perfect Day at CocoCay when I am ashore?

Yes, the packages pre-purchased or have chosen on the ship will be reflected in the bars and restaurants on Perfect Day at CocoCay. If you’ve chosen All Included, you can enjoy cooling tropical cocktails, cold beer, and wine to your heart’s content.

What facilities are there for children and teens at Perfect Day at CocoCay?

There are endless thrills for kids and teens at Perfect Day at CocoCay, with lifeguards on duty throughout the destination. You can let your teens (14 years and above) loose at the Thrill Waterpark, while younger children will enjoy the waterslides at Splashaway Bay. Splash Summit has six slides, from a free-fall drop to The Twister.

Captain Jill’s Galleon has baby slides, water cannons, and a lookout tower, and is geared to younger children. Kids of all ages will love the zipline, which whisks you above the action along 1,600 adrenaline-boosting feet. Then there’s the wave pool, snorkel adventures, and the helium balloon to try.

Please note that our kids’ club activity program doesn’t take place on Perfect Day at CocoCay, but will still be available on board when the ship is docked at the island. Also, younger kids will need to be accompanied by someone over 14 to use the slides in the Thrill Waterpark.

For all Shore Excursions at Perfect Day at CocoCay (except Thrill Waterpark and the Scuba Dive for Certified Divers), all guests under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult from their group 18 years or older.

Is there an adults-only space on Perfect Day at CocoCay?

Yes, Hideaway Beach is the ultimate beachfront experience in paradise, just for adults and debuts January 2024 at the award-winning Perfect Day at CocoCay.

The most desirable (and expensive) cabanas are the over-water cabanas in the Coco Beach Club.

Coco Cay is beautiful. Most of the passengers feel the activities on the island should be included especially since RCL owns it. The cabanas are sooooo overpriced and not worth the price you pay. Our family purchased the Chill Island and Oasis cabanas at pre-construction prices which was reasonable. There are plenty of chairs, umbrellas and shade around the island so cabanas aren’t necessary.

I agree! We were gonna book the slides but they just went up to 125.00……my family will pass now

For what we are paying for the cruise Coco Cay water park should be included. Since that everything is extra charge on the cruise line compared to the others. Its ridiculous for a family of 4 to afford this kind of vacation. Should lower price and make smaller ships.

I recently booked a cruise RCC and now I understand why Disney is the best. I have never spent extra money on DCL other than getting an adult drink. Prices should include unlimited beverages and fun on the private island. People say DCL is expensive but it’s worth the money because once you pay for it all you don’t have to worry about anyting on your trip

I could not agree more with this post!!! I was totally shocked by the fact that after you pay for the RCL Cruise we had to book the water park for extra. We thought it was all included like on Disney. I mean its alot extra. I think the reps must get a commission or something because they tried to push us into pre- buying and we did not. Don’t prebuy!!! Check it out first there is still alot of free stuff to do . We bought the ticket for the kids only when we go there. We used to love Coco Cay . It was such a tranquil and beautiful island. It was our favorite spot of all cruising destinations in the Caribbean and we have been to them all. Not any more its way over priced for sure!! It looks like any other over done, man made ,water park you can visit with out paying for a cruise. Nothing special and way over priced. We booked just to go to Coco Cay and were heart broken when we saw what had been done to it. Shame on you RCL for ruining a perfect Day at Coco Cay with that albatross of a water contraption!!!

Royal Caribbean took what was a perfect day on a private island and turned it into a disaster marked by greed greed and more greed. Coco cay was a great open beautiful island that ships used tenders to access and you felt like you were in a Caribbean island instead if at six flags or Disney world. This over hyped over priced over marketed waste of what was a perfect day is now nothing special. It was special years ago now it’s like anywhere else. Royal Caribbean ruined their island

Do not buy tickets in advance for Coco Cay. What you r not being told is the fact that you need tickets ONLY if you are going to the WATER PARK, and they r pricey! If you r going to the beach, just get off the ship and walk to the island. You do NOT have to pay for the chairs and beach . Lunch is free… eat breakfast before you go….not available on the island. We were a party of 7 celebrating our50th wedding anniversary. The rep on the phone told us when we pre purchase the tickets, that everyone had to have a ticket.. .spent $500 in tickets. .only used 1 adult, and 2 kids tickets. . Explained to the rep that there is a 77 yr old, 73 year old, 16 year old, and 10 year old who just wanted to go to the beach, not the WATERPARK! THE OTHER 3 WENT TO THE WATERPATK. SHE TOLD ME THAT EVERYONE NEEDED TO HAVE A TICKET! TRIED TO GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE 4 TICKETS AND WAS TOLD NO.

I plan to visit on August 10, did research and will use the free side of the island. I believe that they have 1/2 day passes which I won’t use, just hang around the beach and will have the ship to enjoy

I appreciate all comments from past guests. We will be traveling with 10 family members in summer 2020. 6 of us are in 60’s and 70’s with one grandson’s family including 2 boys under 10. Probably none of us “old timers” will pay to do the rides but want the younger family to enjoy themselves to the max. So thanks for the heads up on pricing.

How much is now pass for Perfect Day at CocoCay in 2020 ? I have to buy before or i can buy pass there, is it 1/2 day offer ?

One thing I have noticed about Royal is that the longer you wait to book something the more expensive it gets, especially if you wait to get it on the ship. I am not sure about CocoCay.

Can we walk through the water park to watch our grandchildren or do we have to pay to get in even if not using the rides?

We have free passes to coco cay from our cruise for coco cay water Park does this include the water slides and zip lines ?
