Kang Daniel wraps up his 'First Parade' world tour and 'REALIEZ' promotions with scale and sincerity

daniel world tour

After a year since Kang Daniel kicked off his first solo world tour 'First Parade' in Seoul , Daniel finished its run with a two-day encore concert at Korea University's Hwajeong Tiger Dome in early July. The tour officially ended with more than 20 stops in Asia, North America, and Europe—a huge feat for a solo artist under an independent company.

The encore concert showcased Kang Daniel's musical evolution with an updated setlist composed of songs from his first solo album to the recent EP ‘ REALIEZ’ . New to the repertoire were tracks from his latest album “WASTELAND”, “SOS”, “Dreaming”, and “Supernova”; fan favorite 2021 b-side “Digital”; and recently released English collab song “Look Where We Are”. In particular, the cyberpunk “Digital” stage and explosive “Supernova” rock performance had the audience going wild.

At the end of the concert, Kang Daniel said , “I have many happy memories of the journeys that passed by. I think they will be unforgettable memories and records in my life that I can't just pick one moment from. I hope you have made good memories, and I will continue to greet you with new music in the future!"

Kang Daniel also surprised fans throughout ‘REALIEZ’ promotions with thoughtful support events.

Since he had wanted to make up for shorter promos due to his concert preparations, he started off with a coffee truck stocked with “drinks to cure Monday blues” and cookies.

When the actual music show week rolled around, fans were welcomed with an annotated cheer guide along with more freebies, including a rose delivery and another coffee truck with complimentary cookies.

After the final music show, Kang Daniel popped up to greet fans and personally hand out 100 photocards in a sweet fan manager event.

Even after album promos, KONNECT Entertainment gave out free water bottles and paper fans in a #Gift_For_You event to combat the summer heat at his concerts.

Kang Daniel’s sincerity to music and his consideration for others could very much be felt by fans!

In other news, Kang Daniel recently guested on KBS2's 'Mr. House Husband 2' . He will return as MC for ‘Street Woman Fighter 2’ after performing at Japan’s ‘Summer Sonic 2023’ .

“It might sound a little silly, but when you lose something you understand how precious it is, right?” Daniel says during some downtime after touring the Empire State Building in New York. “For me, it was the performances and my shows. I really wanted to do a tour and I really wanted to get to my fans overseas.”

After releasing his first full-length album,  The Story , and touring it through North America, Europe and Asia on his First Parade world tour, Daniel kickstarted a new era with  the surprise,  Mad Max -esque “Prequel” trailer  that showcased a cinematic story as a backdrop to the K- pop star’s upcoming album. Combining his music with an epic, blockbuster production is another example of the ambitious, multifaceted artist he strives to not only be in the K-pop industry but recognized as such around the world.

“There’s a long history of pop culture and such diverse performances and shows in the U.S.,” he explains. “Everybody knows it all over the world. I want to be recognized as an artist through my shows in the U.S.”

After finally bringing his shows to America and beyond, Kang Daniel’s forthcoming album  REALIEZ  drops on June 19. Led by his first original English solo single, “Wasteland,” and its intensely eerie “Music Sequence” visual, the superstar’s ambition and goals seem on track to be recognized by his biggest audience ever. Read on for more from Kang Daniel on “Wasteland,” his reflections from his world tour, his personal advice and more.

I think “Wasteland” is a song that expresses the betrayal of a firm faith and the moment of realizing it. The lyrics are all in English, signaling the beginning of a new narrative to more people and it seems that people can be more immersed in the cinematic concept, so it was released as a pre-release single.

This is your first music since your First Parade world tour that hit Europe, the U.K and U.S. Going back for a moment, tell me about your mindset when you were touring the States for the first time as a soloist?

The most important thought I had was, “I must do a show.” In my career as an artist, the most important part is being on the stage because that’s where I belong, that’s where I have the most fun and I want to share that with my fans. So, I’m very excited to have been in the US, we visited a lot of cities across the nation and it required a lot of preparation internally and for my stages as well. And it’s not only about the tour, but I get to explore these new cities and I get inspiration from that.

Do you like exploring the different cities or do you need to rest at hotels during touring ?

I love to explore new places. For example, after checking into the hotel [in New York], I just went out by myself—went to a local restaurant and had dinner. Nowadays, I’m really into workouts so the gym is where I spend most of my time. So it’s like, “Okay: explore then workout.” Balance.

The tour centers around your first full-length album,  The Story . Before officially moving from that era to  REALIEZ , how do you reflect on such a significant project?

A title like “The Story” reaches very wide. What does it mean to you and does it still hold the same meaning as when you first titled the album?

When I had to come up with a title, I had a lot of pressure and I had to give a lot of thought to it because it’s almost like a collection of different dramas, with various genres, like, “How am I supposed to put everything into one word?” And in terms of genres, we describe it as “various,” but we can also say it’s kind of all over the place at the same time. So I just thought, “Okay, so far the life I’ve lived, and the music I’ve listened to, and it all comes into the word ‘story.'” it’s the story that I can share with my other fans and it’s just another story I can share with everybody and I story that I can love. And that meaning has stayed true even now.

There are some great lyrics to songs you wrote for  The Story . “Parade” feels like a mature and empowered mindset behind it. What’s the s sentiment behind these lyrics?

So, you mentioned the word mindset and I just wanted to express [myself], not in an overly expressive manner but calmly. I mean, people might think I have a special life just because I’m an artist but I’m just a human being like other people, you know? So, rather than working so hard to come up with “cool lyrics,” I just wanted to be honest with my feelings.

People can work all through the night and when you see the sunrise, you know, “Oh, yes, I’ve worked really hard,” and then you go back home. That’s the feeling that I wanted to share.

When I was young, I didn’t have a lot of friends, and once you fight with one of your closest friends, you don’t have anyone else to play with, you know what I mean? You can play with other friends, but they’re not the same. Even if you go to the playground or play games, something is missing. So, in the song, I am the main character per se, and I wanted to look back at it as an adult. Childhood is also still part of your story.

The lyrics in “How We Live” featuring sokodomo are really powerful. Where or from what experience did that inspiration come?

Beer pong.  [Laughs]  So, the behind-the-scenes story is kind of based on conversations I had that night over drinks had with friends You know, if you’re watching people play beer pong at an Irish bar—some people are drunk, some are throwing up, but they’re all ultimately fine and it’s just their life. But I think the story’s point is that I fell asleep while my friends were drinking, but I woke up because they were so loud. I was like, “Hey, stop…” and they told me, “It’s not that bad, just have your drink.” Just trust yourself; trust your situation.

“Parade” was the name of the world tour, and to me is like an anthem for all individuals, freaks, losers, all kinds of people. You say, “Leave us alone and we’ll be fine.” Was that the idea you wanted to base the tour around?

You re-released the album as The Story : RETOLD with the new single “Nirvana.” What does that word mean to you?

Kurt Cobain . [Laughs] Yeah, Kurt Cobain because Nirvana is one of my favorite rock bands. When I was working on the track, I tried other words on the topline, but nothing really worked out. And “Nirvana” really fit well. But once I said, “Okay, this is going to be the title” then I finished the rest of the song.

What’s your favorite Nirvana song?

“Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Classic.

You’ve done a lot of great collaborations recently: Jessi , pH-1, Chancellor, 220 KID and Willim. What do you look for in a collaborator these days?

I guess you are kind of asking about the motivation, but I’m not really sure. It’s not about the outcome that I’m looking for, but I just enjoy the process—it’s fun. For example, Jesse, I, her let’s together, you know, and K one was recommended by the team. And then I was like, “Okay, it’s a good fit and I wanted to give it a try.” So, in terms of collaboration, the most important thing is that I need to have fun. Yeah. And when I’m having fun, the song comes out really nice. So, I’m not looking to have a big plan of “I’m gonna show this part” or “I want to do this concept with this person,” it’s the fun during the process and the song itself.

You’ve also been doing so many things beyond music lately, like acting, your first Japanese release, and hosting shows as the MC. Was there any big lesson you took from the opportunities?

What can you tell us about the new album REALIEZ that we haven’t seen yet through “Wasteland”?

The album is about the process of realizing the truth hidden in lies on the theme of a dystopian world in a cinematic form. There are a total five songs, including “Wasteland,” in this album and it’s a story of gaining enlightenment through uncovering truth from lies and a story about the realization to face our whole self. Depending on the listener, different endings can be imagined, so, I’m looking forward to it.

Your KONNECT Entertainment has grown greatly since you last visited America with several great artists signed. I always ask K-pop company CEOs if they have professional plans or any reflections on their artists.

So, I don’t take care of their schedules, but when they need help, I try to set up a separate meeting with them so that I can refer somebody they need or make sure they have better connections. I’ve been having planning conversations with different companies and collaborators, some that are unexpected.

To wrap up, I always really admire your mindset, and you seem in a good place right now. Do you have any words for those who may be having a tough time or how to keep yourself physically, mentally and emotionally healthy?

Oh, thank you. Emotionally, let’s say, we don’t really know what’s behind the door until we open it. I’ve been in that place in my dark times and, actually, what scares us is not what’s behind the door, but it’s the action we have to take to open the door, you know? Because once we open it, there’s nothing really scary or severe. And I really hope it’s the same for everybody else, but happiness is ultimately most important, and that’s what I want to share most.

DP World Tour: Daniel Gavins edges to Ras Al Khaimah Championship title with long putt after finding water twice at 18

Daniel Gavins holes 25-foot double-bogey putt on final hole to win Ras Al Khaimah Championship title; Englishman finds water twice before sinking from distance to earn second DP World Tour victory; Gavins ends one clear of Alexander Bjork and Zander Lombard

Daniel Gavins holed a 25-foot putt on the final hole to claim a one-shot win at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship after his hopes of a second DP World Tour victory appeared to be slipping away.

Englishman Gavins began the 18th with a two-shot lead over Alexander Bjork but then twice found the water before sinking a superb putt for a double-bogey to end on 17 under par.

With Bjork having bogeyed the last to finish on 16 under, Gavins' only remaining challenger was 54-hole leader Zander Lombard but the South African was unable to end his round with the eagle he needed to force a play-off as he matched Bjork on 16 under.

Gavins' second DP World Tour victory comes 18 months after his first - the 31-year-old having scooped the ISPS Handa World Invitational in August 2021 - with this triumph secured via an excellent week of putting.

"I have been struggling off the tee for the last two weeks, I've been battling, and it was a difficult hole to go through. Fortunately I holed out! I thought I was holing it for a play-off. I didn't realise Bjork had made bogey.

"When I sunk the putt and then went to the back of the green and saw that I was actually winning still, it was kind of a big shock.

"I was pretty relaxed all day even though my swing off the tee wasn't great. I obviously felt it a lot on the 18th but other than that it was pretty calm."

Gavins followed a first-hole bogey on Sunday with five gains on the spin - starting when he drained a putt of over 40 feet on the second - and then another birdie at eight to open up a three-stroke advantage over Bjork, Matthieu Pavon and Lombard.

Bogeys at nine and 12 halted Gavins' progress and left him tied with Bjork at the top of the leaderboard but he then picked up back-to-back birdies at 14 and 15 to re-establish a two-stroke advantage before edging to victory at the 18th with a seven for a three-under 69.

Lombard held a one-shot lead over Rasmus Hojgaard heading into the final round, with Gavins two shots back at 14 under, but there was a dramatic swing up top following Gavins' birdie haul and Lombard completing a topsy-turvy front nine in a one-over 37.

The South African, chasing a maiden DP World Tour title, mixed four bogeys with an eagle and a birdie across his first nine holes before coming home in a one-under 35.

France's Pavon made a stunning birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie start but his charge faded following three bogeys and a double across his next nine holes and he ended tied ninth on 13 under.

Hojgaard twins Nicolai and Rasmus had attention on them in the final round, with Nicolai looking to retain the title and Rasmus hoping to pip his sibling and ensure they became the first brothers to win the same DP World Tour event.

Rasmus Hojgaard (Getty Images)

The 21-year-olds both shot over par on Sunday, though, with Rasmus ending in a share of sixth on 14 under and Nicolai tied 13th on 11 under.

Poland's Adrian Meronk (15 under) and England's Ross Fisher (13 under) shot the rounds of the day - their seven-under 65s matched only by Germany's Marcel Schneider - as they finished tied fourth and tied ninth respectively.

SHOW INFO   |   DAN'S BIO

We’re All Doomed!

Daniel Howell is back, as stressed and depressingly dressed as ever, with his epic new solo comedy stage show "We're All Doomed!".

When there's so many apocalyptic scenarios threatening to destroy us, it might be tempting to give into the gloom - but with enough sarcasm, satire, and a desire to skewer everything that’s wrong with society: Dan is determined to find some hope for humanity ..or at least laugh like it's the end of the world (because it probably is).

Prepare for a night of savage self-deprecation, soul-searching, Dan over-sharing his deepest fears and desires, and become part of a community of doomers to share the final days.

Daniel Howell

Daniel Howell is one of the world's most successful, stressed and depressed entertainers. Known for his savagely self-deprecating and sarcastic humour, Dan fairly skewers everything that's wrong with the world as much as he does himself. From bestselling books, an award-winning show on BBC Radio 1, and billions of views on his celebrated online content - to sellout world tours performing high-concept comedy to over 500,000 people in 18 countries, Dan’s dedicated audience relate to his outlook on life and follow anywhere he goes.

While making jokes at his own expense, Dan has shared serious struggles with his sexuality and mental health, that have culminated in his recent special ‘Gay and Not Proud' and #1 Bestselling book 'You Will Get Through This Night' - a no nonsense guide to looking after your sanity - as well as being a proud ambassador for Stonewall and Young Minds.

His epic new solo comedy stage show "We're All Doomed!" is here to demand we honestly accept the fate of humanity with all the apocalypses threatening to consume us - and if we can't find a reason to feel hopeful for the future, at least laugh like it's the end of the world ..because it probably is. Touring the world (while it’s still here) in 2022, Dan will return to iconic venues such as the London Palladium, NYC’s Kings Theatre and The Ace in Los Angeles, as well as dates across Australia and Europe. Live Review: Daniel Caesar "Superpowers World Tour"

As the glowing lights dimmed at Hollywood Bowl, fans anticipated what was on the way. At approximately 9:26 PM on September 22, 2023, murmured conversations transformed into screaming matches over a live video feed of Daniel Caesar as he walked onstage. The anxious energy that flooded the venue was enormously heightened with a point-of-view shot. He graced the crowd with a look back into the camera, causing concert attendees to scream louder (and a few octaves higher), before reaching the main stage. Despite Caesar being known for his slow soulful rhythms, a wild excitement still filled the Bowl. There he was, in all of his glory; Daniel Caesar had arrived.

daniel world tour

Tears were shed as audience members hugged and swayed from side to side, hearing the first lyrics come out of Daniel's mouth: "In the nick of time, that's when you appeared." He opened up the show with "Ocho Rios", a song from his latest album, Never Enough .

"In the nick of time, that's when you appeared."

Instantly, you could hear microphone feedback of screaming fans from the floor section, both of which remained ongoing throughout the show. Whether on the floor or in higher sections, viewers shared a natural rush and undying love for their favorite artist.

Caesar stepped out in a monochromatic grey outfit: a short sleeve hoodie and long shorts that just passed his knees. His whole set matched perfectly with his "master of discretion" aesthetic as concertgoers viewed very minimal shots of the front of his face. Backed by an entire band, Caesar's set lit up with many alternating grey, blue, black, and white tones. Smoke and strobe lights created dream-like effects, which corresponded to each song's lyrics.

daniel world tour

Daniel Caesar performed songs from Case Study 01, Freudian, Never Enough, Acoustic Break, Pilgrim's Paradise, and Praise Break. Songs from Never Enough ranked first, with the majority of the songs performed coming from the album.

From Case Study 01 he performed "Cyanide", "Enthropy", "Open Up", and "Superpositon". Out of the three, "Superposition" was the only unplanned song of the concert. Right before singing, Caesar stated, "this is the part where I decide on the fly what I'm going to do". Fans experienced a surprise acoustic rendition of the track, much to their delight.

daniel world tour

From Freudian , he performed "Best Part", "Get You", and "Loose". Since "Best Part" and "Get You" feature artists H.E.R. and Kali Uchis, Caesar relied on the audience to sing their parts. They delivered, even performing the ad-libs, which acted as another humorous aspect of the interactive crowd. During "Best Part", the big screen switched from footage of Daniel Caesar to pans and close-ups of the audience. The twenty-somethings in the crowd beamed while singing along, a couple snuck in kisses, and others shielded their weeping faces out of embarrassment. While he performed "Get You", the artist interacted with the audience, singing: "who would've thought I'd get you?" He asked, "oh yeah?" as a question, which prompted the audience to reply, "oh yeah, babe". During "Loose", the stage lights went dark and a piano arrived front and center. A single spotlight illuminated Caesar's silhouette from above.

"Los Angeles, I'm not lying to you when I say this... this may be the best show of my entire life, I love you guys," Caesar admitted. The crowd went berserk as he reassured every person in the crowd that the concert affected him as much as it had them. He spoke as if history was being made with every second of the performance.

As the show reached the beginning of its end, Caesar performed "Always" from the Never Enough LP. The audience sang and swayed in a simultaneous trance, all while staying in perfect harmony. The star strutted off stage after completing the song; little did the audience know that this was the last time they would see Daniel Caesar in the show. With the dim lights a perfect cue, the anxious crowd began to understand the situation. Caesar performed "Streetcar" as an encore backstage–the same way the concert began–through a live feed on a handheld camera. The phenomenal show, sadly, came to an end.

Daniel Caesar's connection with his fans remains unmatched. There is an unspoken understanding between the showman and his audience, making for an absolutely electric show. His lyrical genius regarding yearning and love create an engaging experience unique to each and every fan.

Nelly korda rides streak of four wins into lpga's first major, but where can she take the tour, share this article.

daniel world tour

Early on in Beth Daniel’s career, Mickey Wright said in a press conference that if you think Nancy Lopez is great, wait until you see Beth Daniel. Wright’s words, though flattering, weighed heavily on Daniel, who joined the LPGA in 1979, one year after Lopez won nine times as a rookie and was immediately hailed as a rival. It’s the reason Daniel is careful with her words about current LPGA players.

Now that Nelly Korda is in the midst of a dominating streak, Daniel is comfortable saying that this is what everyone expected of her all along.

“But you hate to put that on somebody,” she quickly added.

Korda, 25, comes into the LPGA’s first major of the season, this week’s Chevron Championship, on a streak of four consecutive titles. She took a seven-week break after winning her first title of the season, the LPGA Drive On, in her hometown of Bradenton, Florida, and then won three titles in the span of three weeks. The LPGA was off last week during the Masters.

2024 T-Mobile Match Play

Nelly Korda holds up four fingers for her fourth win in a row after winning the 2024 T-Mobile Match Play at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. (Photo: Orlando Ramirez/Getty Images)

The women’s game hasn’t seen a player win four consecutive starts since Lorena Ochoa won four in four weeks in 2008. Korda is the first player to enter a major coming off four wins in consecutive starts since Annika Sorenstam did so between the end of the 2004 season and the start of 2005.

“Gosh, I can’t even wrap my head around it honestly,” said Korda in the aftermath of her 12th career LPGA title at the T-Mobile Match Play at Shadow Creek, where the weather was so brutal the cut for the stroke-play portion fell at 9 over.

Major champion Karen Stupples has covered Korda’s streak as part of the broadcast crew for Golf Channel and marvels at the adversity the young American has overcome, winning two of those titles in a playoff (forcing one with an eagle-birdie finish) with challenging weather and match play thrown in.

“What we’re seeing now,” said Stupples, “is there’s a lot more self-belief. She trusts that she’s going to win.”

When Lopez won five consecutive starts during that magical rookie season in 1978, she thrived off the attention. Lopez felt like she was riding on a cloud.

“Every player is different,” said Lopez, “but, for me, it was a blessing for me to be comfortable like that.”

Lopez’s experience in the spotlight stands in stark contrast to what Daniel felt when she’d get on a hot streak. As Lopez pushed harder, Daniel backed off, overwhelmed by the attention.

It was in a way, Daniel admitted, a form of self-sabotage. When her game got too far down, she’d convince herself to fight back.

“I went out on tour basically to see how good I could be and to play golf,” said Daniel, who won 33 times on the LPGA. “I didn’t want to do all the other stuff, and people never understood that. I’m not here to promote myself.”

1992 Solheim Cup

Looking back, Daniel believes that kind of thinking was wrong. While she did what the tour asked of her, she could’ve done more to promote her personal brand.

Daniel saw a photo of Korda at the beach last week and thought that’s exactly where she would’ve gone to escape after such a tear.

“She reminds me a lot of me, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not,” said Daniel, laughing.

Korda appears to be a reluctant star. After winning a major and an Olympic gold medal in the summer of 2021, Korda turned down a pre-tournament press conference at the AIG Women’s British Open, her first start after Tokyo. Press tours aren’t her thing, though she’s more than capable in front of a mic.

Early on in her Solheim Cup career, Korda was part of Lopez’s player pod under captain Juli Inkster’s system. Lopez saw a lot of similarities between their games, particularly on the greens.

“To give Nelly any kind of advice is to enjoy this time,” said Lopez. “Try and be a little bit more open. There’s a shyness about her that she has.

“Just really, really go for it, and really enjoy what’s happening to her. Because, as for me, before you know it’s gone, and you’re old and retired. I think it’s just important to really take every moment and live it to the max.”

Ochoa’s four-win streak in 2008 included titles at the Kraft Nabisco (now Chevron) and back home in Mexico. In Morelia, Ochoa didn’t make it to the range after any of her rounds because the autograph line practically stretched to the U.S. border.

Ochoa’s team estimated she signed roughly 3,000 autographs each day at the Corona Championship. Energy-wise, one event in Mexico was the equivalent of two in the States for Ochoa. She still won by 11 strokes.

Sorenstam went into the 2005 Kraft Nabisco on a streak of four wins that stretched over two seasons. She played bogey-free over the weekend at Mission Hills to win by eight and join Lopez as the only two players in LPGA history to win five consecutive starts.

Only four players in LPGA history have won four consecutive scheduled events, and they’re all among the greatest to ever play: Wright (1962, 1963); Kathy Whitworth (1969); Annika Sorenstam (2001); and Lorena Ochoa (2008).

Incredibly, both of Wright’s four-win streaks came in the span of four consecutive weeks.

“We’ve needed an American to really rise up and get all the interest back in,” said Hall of Famer JoAnne Carner of Korda’s fine play.

2024 LPGA Drive On Championship

Like Wright, Korda’s swing is considered by many the best on the LPGA if not all of golf. Daniel said part of that is the blessing of long limbs. There’s an elegance to Korda’s swing that makes people stop and stare.

At 5 feet, 11 inches, Daniel’s long, rhythmic swing was said to be the best on the LPGA since Wright’s.

“Position-wise, Nelly is in better positions than I ever was,” said Daniel.

Korda skipped the entire spring Asian swing, heading first to Prague to spend time with her grandparents. Throughout the break, she worked on her fitness, as health setbacks have kept her from reaching her potential in recent years.

“I don’t want to train like a golfer,” said Korda, “I want to train like an athlete.”

Korda’s athletic genes – every member of her immediate family is a world-class athlete – add fuel to the idea that she can become the first dominant American superstar to transcend women’s golf in decades. People are attracted to power.

“You can tell by looking at her that she has the confidence that she thinks she should win,” said Daniel.

“As a player, you always want to get to that point where you feel like you can win every tournament you tee it up in. That’s kind of the ultimate as a player. But there aren’t many players who have the talent to do that. Nelly does.”

So far, four consecutive victories on the LPGA hasn’t done much to break into the mainstream, even at a time when women’s sports are experiencing a phenomenon in Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark.

Korda has lost to 15 players in total all season, and every one of those losses came in her first start at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January, where she took a share of 16th.

Her rise this season runs parallel with Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, who has three wins in his last four starts.

“How do you turn (Nelly) into a Caitlin Clark?” asked Stupples. “If she’s even willing to be a Caitlin Clark.”

The first step is to keep winning.
