Pre / Mid / Post Trib Rapture compared to Post-Trib Pre-Wrath Rapture

Updated: May 18, 2022

define mid trip

Here is a simplified view of the different "positions" concerning the Rapture:

1. Pre-Trib - All believers are Raptured before ANY Tribulation OR Great Tribulation, aka God's Wrath, takes place.

2. Mid-Trib - All believers face 1260 days of Tribulation and then get Raptured before the Great Tribulation, aka God's Wrath, in the middle of the 7 years of Tribulation.

3. Post-Trib - All believers face 1260 days of Tribulation AND 1260 days of Great Tribulation aka God's Wrath for a total of 7 years of Tribulation.

4. Post-Trib Pre-Wrath - All believers face 1260 days of Tribulation and 75 days of Great Tribulation. After that the Rapture. After the Rapture the unbelievers left on earth will face God's Wrath for 1185 days. This position is rarely discussed... probably because it's complicated.

define mid trip

Let me point out one thing first. When I say all believers FACE tribulation that means there WILL be believers KILLED during the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation. Death is the concern for most proponents of any version of events leading up to the Rapture.

The easiest position to dismiss is #3 Post-Trib. The Bible says we are NOT appointed unto Wrath. Therefore, Post-Trib is not possible. No believer will face God's Wrath.

Most people do not want to believe the Bible in the first place so they automatically go for the pain free Rapture which is Pre-Trib. The Pre-Trib Rapture guarantees a pain free existence. However, the bible says:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye SHALL HAVE tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The Pre-Trib Rapture could easily be dismissed upon reading that verse but, people insist on having a pain free Rapture option. Most preachers are menpleasers who do not fear God. So, the Pre-Trib Rapture is the most popular option that has been taught for years.

The Mid-Trip Rapture people recognize John 16:33 and say yes... we will go through tribulation we just won't go through the GREAT Tribulation, aka God's Wrath.

This verse is absolutely 100% true:

1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath ... And everybody said AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

Why are the first three positions 'wrong'?

The first three say the Great Tribulation is aka God's Wrath. That is wrong. Therefore, the first three positions are all wrong for that one reason.

The Great Tribulation is when the antichrist tries his best to kill every believer on earth.

God's Wrath is when God pours out His judgment on earth with the 7 Trumpet and Vial judgments.

The proponents of the first three positions don't understand the difference between the Great Tribulation and God's WRATH. I will cover the difference between the two in another post. Suffice it to say the 5th Seal takes place during the Great Tribulation. The 7th seal marks the beginning of God's Wrath.

The Post-Trib Pre-Wrath position is the most convoluted complicated position because it recognizes 1260 days of Tribulation followed by 75 days of Great Tribulation then 1185 days of God's Wrath. The numbers are in the bible. It just really blows your mind trying to put everything together.

The Tribulation starts with the opening of the 1st Seal. It lasts for 1260 days. At the end of that period the antichrist will enter the temple, sit down and proclaim himself to BE God. This is known as the Abomination of Desolation. At that point there will be 75 days of GREAT Tribulation such as the world has never known. The antichrist will do his best to slaughter as many believers as possible during this time so much so that Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

At the end of 75 days of GREAT Tribulation Jesus will return on a white horse. The sun and moon will be darkened. The stars will fall from the sky. The dead in Christ shall rise first and then we who are alive and remain will be gathered up by the angels to meet them in the clouds. Once all of the believers have been removed from the earth the 7th Seal is opened and then Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. After that God will pour out His WRATH on the world for the balance of the 3.5 years, or 1185 days, in the form of 7 Trumpet and Vial judgments.

This is a short comparison between the 4 positions on the Rapture.

Many believers, if not MOST of the believers on earth, will be killed. Those who are beheaded for the cause of Christ will get to rule and reign with him for a thousand years.

I will create another post to put the Post-Trib Pre-Wrath Rapture details in chronological order as best I can. It is challenging trying to wrap your mind around everything because there is so much to go through and consider.

One final note on Tribulation, the Pre-Trib people want to avoid Tribulation. That makes people happy. They tend to ignore this verse, however:

1 Thessalonians 3:3 that no man should be moved by these afflictions : for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation ...

Postmillennialism holds that Jesus Christ establishes his kingdom on earth through his preaching and redemptive work in the first century and that he equips his church with the gospel, empowers the church by the Spirit, and charges the church with the Great Commission (Matt 28:19) to disciple all nations. Postmillennialism expects that eventually the vast majority of people living will be saved. Increasing gospel success will gradually produce a time in history prior to Christ's return in which faith, righteousness, peace, and prosperity will prevail in the affairs of men and of nations. After an extensive era of such conditions Jesus Christ will return visibly, bodily, and gloriously, to end history with the general resurrection and the final judgment after…

Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, & Post-Trib – What They Have In Common (and what can we learn from it)

' src=

What do the three main views on the Tribulation Period Have in Common?

They all end with the return of Jesus in Revelation 19:11.

And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse, and He that sat on it was called Faithful and True. And in righteousness he judges and makes war.  — Revelation 19:11 (GFS)

No matter what the differences that the proponents of different rapture views have regarding the timing of the Tribulation period in the book of Revelation, for the most part, they all have the same ending event —the return of the Lord in the above verse. Just so we are all on the same page, the Tribulation period being referenced here is found in Daniel 9:24-27 .

24 Seventy weeks have been determined for your people and your holy city, to finish the rebellion and to make an end of sin, and make atonement for iniquity, to bring in perpetual righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place. 25 So know and understand: From the issuing of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Messiah, the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it shall be built again with plaza and moat, even in anxious times. 26 Now after sixty-two weeks, the Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of the coming prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end shall be overwhelming, and the end of the war desolations are decreed. 27 And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifices and offerings to cease, and on the wing of abominations he shall make desolate; complete destruction shall be decreed and poured out on the desolate. — Daniel 9:24-27 (GFS)

This is the 7-year period of time that most believe has yet to be fulfilled. Agreement by most scholars on events in the Bible, especially prophetic events, is quite rare. But most agree that this 7-year period ends with the the Second Coming of Christ in Revelation 19:11 . The problem now, and where scholars disagree, is where in the book of Revelation is the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation period. I believe it is quite simple. I think the problem for most people not understanding the Tribulation period or the Rapture is that it is a simple case of, “you can’t find the forest for the trees.” And I believe there is a simple way of looking at this problem. Start at the end.

Start at the return of Jesus in Revelation 19:11 and go backwards to find any references to periods of time. Now we are primarily looking for periods of time relating to the 7-year Tribulation period, so references to time periods of 3 1/2 years, 42 months, 1260 days, or times, time, and half a time (the same as 3 1/2 years) are crucial for our understanding of the when the Tribulation period occurs in the book of Revelation.

So, going backward from Revelation 19:11 there are no relevant time periods in Revelation 18 which discusses the destruction of Babylon. Revelation 17 has no relevant time periods mentioned. This is section discussing the Great Prostitute and the Beast. Revelation 16 has no relevant time periods mentioned. This is the section of scripture that speaks of God’s wrath against this world and the system of the Beast. This is the where the 7 vials, or 7 bowls, or 7 judgments are poured out on the earth. Different translations use vials, bowls or judgments interchangeably. Revelation 15 has no relevant time periods mentioned. The verses in chapter 15 reference another sign that John sees in while in heaven watching the end-times unfold. Revelation 14 has no relevant time periods mentioned, but this chapter is critical to understanding the rapture as Jesus is standing on Mt. Zion and is then seen sitting on a cloud (see Timing of the Rapture ). Revelation 13 is the first place a time period relevant to the 7-year Tribulation period. This is the chapter that describes the Antichrist coming to power. And Revelation 13:5 says that the Antichrist is given power for 42 months and was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them.

And there was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies and authority was given to him to rule for forty-two months. — Revelation 13:5 (GFS)

I posted a comment on the Florence Forum regarding restaurants. In Explaining the Restaurants I listed, I noted they were included in a Florence Restaurant - Trip Advisor - Selection Search Criteria .

In Response to my Listings , I was Asked by a Location "" Destination Expert

for Florence""

Please answer a couple of questions, and I will try to help:

1) """"How do you define "mid-range restaurant"?""""

TRIP ADVISOR CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT """"MID RANGE """ Restaurant Means ? I took it from your criteria.

In Addition Comments were made like

""First of all, you should know that the "reviews" on TripAdvisor -- especially on the English-language version -- are terribly suspect"" """ Please don't pay any attention to TA "reviews". Nobody I know who knows anything at all about travel does."""

I have been trying to support TA in Both the Question and Review Area...Comments like the puzzle me .

I would like to use these reviews as a references when I travel. What does TA Say about the reviews and criteria ?

Comments on the pricing of restaurants, or accommodations can be rather ambiguous, when one starts from a monetary rating/ranking. What is “mid-range” to me, might well be “high,” to another reader, or responder.

Another descriptor, which I see often is “won’t break the bank... “ What does that translate in $, £, €, etc?

Then, and more specific to restaurants, one might be able to order less expensive a la carte items, or perhaps a much more expensive Chef’s Tasting Menu - in a few (Jöel Robuchon comes to mind), there might even be “levels” of Tasting Menus.

I prefer to give my budget, in the local currency, when asking for restaurant recs. There is less ambiguity, by doing such, and ask for that, before launching out with my restaurant recs for another poster.

As for TA Reviews, I do find those useful, but I MUST sort through “total garbage,” to find the “gems.” Sometimes the ratio of useful vs useless is akin to 1:50, but such is life.

Now, I find the Ratings, assigned by reviewers, to be less useful.

Finally, the Rankings, assigned by TA, and based on several criteria, including those Ratings, are totally useless to me. They are but the results of a “popularity contest.” A McDonalds, next to the entrance to a Disney property, will almost always be Ranked above a wonderful Michelin 3-star Restaurant, a few miles away. Is the McDonalds better? Better food, service, ambiance? Somehow, I doubt it, but many more folk want a Happy Meal, than a 15-course Chef’s Tasting Menu, which costs US$ 1,500 pp, with paired wines.

Just some personal observations,

From the review writing template, the TA definitions of cheap eats, mid range and fine dining are explained after clicking on the little question mark next to where those selection buttons are:

Cheap eats - quick service or self service

Mid range - casual table service

Fine dining - more formal or dressy

For me, mid range will have to do with the prices of the menu items and the prices in the wine list. I also think that locations determine those criteria as well. NYC and Montréal will have a different definitions than Cincinnati or Winnipeg. In Vancouver, depending on which part of town you are in and which coffee shop, the price can range from $2.50 to $3.50 for a basic cup of coffee. In Vancouver, by my definition, a $13-15 lunch and a $17-20 dinner would be mid-range, both of those without the cost of alcohol included.

In Florence, the cost for almost the same dish will usually be much higher close to the piazza but drop when a block or two away from it.

As you know from your forum experience, members can say anything, take any angle they want. When I want to know something, I try to do the research, get a short list and then ask specific questions with my own budget range included in my question as well as asking for good value restos. This often means using Google Maps to search for “$$ restaurants near the Uffizi” (or a hotel/address), then cherry picking the map results for further research. Giving forum members something concrete to work with usually provides helpful advice, rather than “I’m not sure what to say, can you be more specific?”

I think there are some suspect reviews on Tripadvisor, but in my view the descriptors used, including mid range, are a lot more suspect. I ignore them, just as I do the rankings.

It's difficult to define because no one price range can fit all destinations and all people. I consider mid-range to be between pizza places and fine dining but it's a huge range between those. Always best to give a price point when asking for restaurant recommendations.

Thanks for all the replies.

I guess that I have been a bit naive about TA Reviews and Rankings and why people ask specific repetitive questions on the Las Vegas Forum. Multiple ratings questions about Buffets, Hotels and Casinos when there "tons of reviews " on TA. A common response on the LV Forum is to look at the reviews . Based on the replies to this question, I can see why so many people do not seek the reviews. I guess I have been wasting my time writing reviews.. I think that I will now only do reviews I have negative comments and want to warn people off.

Thanks again.

Chico39, I don't know why you would say you will only do reviews if you have negative comments. I perused a few of your past reviews and found them in general to be well written and informative. They are just the kind of reviews I look for when I am planning travel. Good reviews are just as valuable to me as negative ones as long as I trust the source. In your case, I do. It looks like you and your wife travel about as often as my wife and I. You are not a blogger or an influencer, just an honest, casual traveller. Please keep on reviewing. Us other casual travellers do appreciate it.

I have hardly experience of the Las Vegas forum, chico, but I wouldn't expect it to be representative of the TA forums as a whole. It's a kind of unique destination and I expect the forum to reflect that.

It is entirely up to you when you decide to submit a review and why. At the moment, I can't bring myself to write any, so I can't criticise anyone else for the decisions they make. But I have to endorse what MerelyATourist has said.

Mission Trip Meaning & Definition

define mid trip

What is a Mission Trip?

Mission trips are a way for Christians to serve the world around them. Usually, they are done in groups, either by churches or Christian organizations and can be as short as 1 week or last up to 2 years and beyond. The purpose of these trips is usually service-oriented: helping people with jobs like construction, medical care, teaching children English, and more. This article will talk about what mission trips are and how you can get involved!

What makes a Christian Mission Trip unique?

A Christian mission trip will have a focus on outreach . Sharing the Gospel with people, whether they are receptive to it or not, is part of what makes a mission trip so fulfilling. The opportunity to share the Gospel with people living in poverty and other struggling circumstances helps us learn about being selfless, loving others more than ourselves, and shows God’s love for humanity through our actions!

Outreach activities could include Children’s Bible School, community service, building homes in impoverished areas, sharing meals with the homeless, and much more. These are just a few examples of what outreach activities could be.

What is the purpose of a Mission Trip?

There are three pillars of a Mission Discovery mission trip that all volunteers should know before joining.

We go as Learners

We never enter into another community to “fix” them. We go to learn from them , about their culture and what they need the most help with. Remember, this is not about us!

We do not go to another community as a “savior”. The people of the communities we serve are capable, strong and intelligent. We simply come alongside them with our time, energy and resources to help something happen that would otherwise remain impossible for an individual or family on their own.

It is never about us! It’s always about the people we serve. We are there to share God’s love, not to get recognition for what we did.

We go as Servants

We are there to serve the community that we’re in, whether it is through construction or medical care. We want to be able to help improve their quality of life and make them feel loved!

We leave a community better than when we got there. Whether that means building homes , teaching English in a classroom, or painting the outside of a church- our goal is to be selfless and help others with their greatest needs!

We go as Storytellers

We share our stories. People want to know how we came to Christ. We share what God is doing in our lives and how He is working in us and through us.

When we go into a mission trip we want it to change everyone involved: our volunteers, those who are served, as well as ourselves.

We hope that when we get back home, we can inspire others to go on a mission trip and serve. We want people who hear about our stories to understand how impactful it is for us personally and also in the lives of those around us!

Mission trips are an important part of growing as a Christian. Not only do you learn what it means to be selfless and put others before yourself, but you also grow as a person in learning how to listen. You learn about other cultures and their traditions by actively engaging with them. Mission trips are unforgettable experiences that help shape your faith and can change the world!

One final piece: When you go on a mission trip, it’s important to come back changed! You will learn so much about yourself and others in the process. Be open to this change and embrace what happens when we give up control of our lives and follow God’s plan for us instead!

– Definition :  a Christian mission trip is a short-term voluntary service experience for youth and adults who want to share their faith with others.

Mission trips are defined as experiences where Christians go out into the world to help those in need, whether the needs are physical or spiritual.

Mission trips are designed to help individuals grow in their personal relationship with Christ while also learning about other cultures and how they can love on the communities around them!

-Mission Discovery Trip Pillars: We go as learners, servants, and storytellers!

-Explanation: a mission trip is an organized community service effort done by Christians and churches, usually lasting for one week or more. Churches and organizations provide people with the opportunity to make a difference in communities through short term mission trips.

-Summary: there are three pillars of a mission discovery trip that everyone should know before going on a Christian mission trip. They include being selfless, learning from the community you serve, and sharing God’s love with them! We help improve the quality of life in communities through our time and energy given to serving others in their greatest need.
