This itinerary lists all the places you can reasonably expect to visit on your cruise between the Hunter River and Derby. It is likely, however, that there will be additional places of interest visited on the actual cruise, time and tides allowing, which is why we prefer not to give you a day by day itinerary. The Captain aims to maximise the cruising experience for all passengers, so he will decide when and where he will take you during your 12 nights on the Kimberley coast. In this sense, every cruise is a little different and each passenger’s experience unique.

Operating in the Kimberley region for over 20 years, Discovery One is a family-owned charter boat that has perfected touring the Kimberley Coast of Western Australia. One of the best-valued cruises in the region, Discovery One offers 10-14 night tours March-October, taking guests where few have traveled before.
VALUE FOR MONEY. Our cruise packages offer 10 to 15 nights in the Kimberley and days filled with adventure. We typically offer up to three excursions a day. In addition, we 'package' our cruises with land-based accommodation and transfers, including buses, light planes, helicopters and seaplanes, depending on the cruise you choose.
With a maximum of 22 passengers and a crew of 6, Discovery One Kimberley cruises offer friendly, relaxed experiences for a small group of explorers. We cruise from March to September offering 10 to 15-night cruise packages. Early in the Season we run the Waterfall packages - March, April, and early May - moving you between Darwin and Broome.
Draws: 2 metres. Cruise Speed: 9 knots (16.68kms per hour) Range of Vessel: 28 days sailing or 3252 kms (depending upon tides and weather) Diesel fuel storage: 18,000 litres. The final cruise of the season explores the rugged northern coastline and the estuaries and waterways of the King George and Berkeley Rivers. Admire the many bird species and marine life along the coast from Derby to Wyndham. The dark blue line on the Kimberley map below, shows where we go. 15 nights from $10,990/per person TWIN SHARE.
A huge one is the boat layout. Many other Kimberley cruise boats have limited outdoor access, especially those that have a helipad on the top deck. On Discovery One, the top deck is entirely open to passengers, complete with shade cloth, sunbeds and spa, so we spent most of our days and evenings with 360º views of the glorious surrounds.
