Activity Guide

Comparing attractions: which one is right for you.

Every spot had its charm and allure, all captivating in their own right.

It all boils down to what kind of adventure your soul craves, whether it may be serene nature, lively socials, or artful inspiration.

Stepping into River Park North felt like I had discovered a serene, natural haven right in the heart of the city.

There’s a kind of magic that comes from kayaking across a tranquil lake under the vast, open sky.

But, if the urban charm is your preference, the Uptown Brewing Company offers a vibrant contrast.

The hum of people laughing over locally-crafted beers, the warmth, and the ambiance was an invitation to sit, sip, and enjoy.

Greenville Museum of Art is ideal for history buffs.

The enchanting collections stirred my soul, each piece telling its own unique story.

Sure, it doesn’t offer the physical exhilaration of the park or the social buzz of the brewery, but it filled my spirit with inspiration.

How I Picked The Activities

In selecting the activities for Greenville, I immersed myself in the city, exploring its streets and talking to locals and other visitors.

I also conducted extensive research by reading credible travel forums, accurate reviews, and official social media posts to ensure a well-rounded selection.

From the serene nature to the inspiring art galleries, these activities capture the essence of Greenville.

Our Rating Method

I rate these attractions based on the following criteria:

  • Family-Friendliness: I use this criterion to assess the family-friendly appeal of every activity. Is it suitable for families with kids? Is it safe, engaging, and fun for children? I ask myself these questions in order to rate family-friendliness.
  • Affordability: This is used to evaluate the attraction’s affordability. Will visitors get a lot of bang for their buck? Is it free or cheaper compared to the other options? Does it offer discounted rates, special promotions, or free entry? I consider these factors when rating affordability.
  • Accessibility: This evaluates the activity’s accessibility. Is it easily accessible by public transportation? Are there plenty of parking spaces available? Is it wheelchair accessible? I ask myself these questions when assessing the attraction’s accessibility.
  • Fun Factor: I use this to evaluate how enjoyable the attraction is for visitors. Will it create positive and memorable experiences? Is it engaging, fun, and exciting? I use these questions to evaluate this criterion.
  • Educational Value: This assesses the educational benefits of the activity. Does it provide learning opportunities to kids? Will it teach visitors lessons in science and history? I ask myself these important questions when rating educational value.

The Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Greenville, NC) is excited and gearing up to host the 2024  Visit North Carolina  Tourism Conference in Greenville  March 17 – 19, 2024  at the  Greenville Convention Center .

“We are excited to have North Carolina’s premier travel and tourism event here in Greenville again this year,” stated Andrew Schmidt, President and CEO of Visit Greenville, NC. “Hosting provides us the opportunity to showcase the immense growth happening in Greenville-Pitt County to our statewide tourism leaders and state and national media partners.”

The annual Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference brings together tourism industry leaders for two days of educational sessions, insightful programming, networking, and opportunities to catch up on the latest trends and issues facing the travel industry and gain insights from industry experts.

This year the Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference is expecting nearly 500 attendees, including professionals from destination marketing organizations across North Carolina, industry marketing and technology service providers, media partners, and travel writers from across the state and country, and more. In March 2023, the Visit Greenville, NC staff attended Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville. Visit Greenville, NC hosted the closing luncheon at  the conference, and brought along Chef Lucas Owens of  Julep Contemporary Kitchen  and  Native Fine Diner , to give attendees a taste of what they can expect in Greenville in 2024.

“We are thrilled to be returning to Greenville for the Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference,” stated Wit Tuttell, Director of Visit North Carolina. “I love going to Greenville because you can feel the excitement throughout the community when we are in town.”

Greenville hosted the Visit North Carolina Tourism Conference for the first time in 2017, and the Visit Greenville, NC team and partners look forward to welcoming North Carolina’s tourism industry back to Eastern NC to experience all that Greenville-Pitt County has to offer, along with our Pirate Nation spirit and hospitality.
