We asked the taxi driver to take us and they couldn’t interpret the map or directions given. We called the office to advise that we had gotten lost and were asking for proper directions since the given ones could not be interpreted by the taxi drivers. The agent said they were busy and would send us proper directions once the ship leaves. Nothing was sent through. They then promised us we would go the next day, only to tell us there was no cruise on the day so we asked for a refund. They are refusing to send back the money. It was a wine shop and a bar" Region" which deals with the wines from all Bulgarian regions.The owner is a very nice young man, speking good English. At the back of the shop there is a charming garden where the owner presented the selected wines and treated us with bruschetta, cheese and other snacks. 10:00AM Leaving from pickup points on the way up and down in the beautiful Balkan mountains range.

On the way the tourists have the opportunity to see the traditional way of bulgarian grape brandy production process. Some fun games will happen too.

12:30AM The jeeps cross through small villages and lead the village of Erkech up in the mountain.

Visit the Zoo of the Panorama Ranch.

The tourists get acquianted with the customs of bulgarian peasants and they have the chance to try bulgarian banitza with yoghurt.

13:30PM On the way up to the top of the mountains, the tourists are able to see the TV station. Lunch at the folklore restaurant in the village of Kosharitsa

The journey continues on hilly terrain and dusty slopes. The stop at a  mineral water spring offers the possibility of various activities such as air rifle shooting.

On our way to the top of the mountain we are first going to pass by the Television tower, then drive through trackless regions and virgin nature, surpass a number of small villages, cross a river and then stop for a little break in “St Konstantin and Elena”- a small chapel famous with its holly waters. If interested you may try your shooting skills with pneumatic weapon but only in places suitable for this purpose.

   Our next stop will be in a really, old small village named Erkech – nowadays called also Kozichino. With its many authentic houses, one of which is now a museum and local people managed to  preserve and still cherish their  history, traditions and language. It is said that the name of the village comes from the two Turkish words “erken” and “getch” meaning “pass and go” or “pass faster”. This was how Turkish people called it to pay a note for  danger. Founded around 5-6 Century AD, the village was  well known for its strong, intransigent and independent locals–  a Turk has never been admitted to sleep the night in the village or else he never lived to see the next day, the folks still remember.

   In the Year 1900 in the village was installed and started functioning the first machine for production of Lemonade /a traditional Bulgarian drink/ and so is until nowadays, where tourists can still try it, made by the exact same old technology.

Does anybody have any information eg prices & itinery etc - where is best to book?

Best place to book is with the local tour companies, definitely not with your rep as these add costs.

Places like OK Tours or my own preferred choice Condor Tours next to the post office on the main road just past the market and opposite Granny's Kitchen.

You will find Off road adventure, including lunch and drinks, horse riding,Quad bikes shooting & archery. Starts at 9am and cost is approx 85 lev per adult and 65 lev children.

Should you take a toddler NO! NO! NO! Wont even mention car seats.
