Are you ready for it? Well, unless you got a special email this morning, probably not.

On Tuesday, Taylor Swift announced that she’s playing an additional show at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 7. Swift originally was slated to bring her Eras tour to L.A. for a five-night run from Aug. 3-5 and Aug. 8-9.

But before you gear up to fight wistful and embittered Swifties of all ages on Ticketmaster , know that tickets for the added show are first being offered to fans who were waitlisted for the other August SoFi performances back when tickets went on sale in November.

A select number of lucky fans who signed up for the TaylorSwiftTix Presale through the ticket distribution giant received an email Tuesday morning informing them that they could register to enter a sales queue at 10 a.m. PT.

Just like the previously scheduled L.A. shows, L.A. natives Haim and Gracie Abrams will serve as the opening acts for the Aug. 7 performance.

Swift also added shows to several stops on the European leg of her tour in 2024, including concerts in Paris, Stockholm, London and Munich.

For 3-plus hours, Taylor Swift delivers a master class in pop ambition

On Friday, at the kickoff of her Eras tour, Swift performed a whopping 44 songs from all 10 of her studio albums, parceled out in distinct chapters.

March 18, 2023

The “You Belong With Me” singer first announced the tour to support her 10th and record-breaking “Midnights” album in November on “Good Morning America.” Swift said her sixth concert tour would be “a journey through all of my musical eras of my career.”

The appropriately titled Eras tour, which kicked off with a March 17 performance in Glendale, Ariz., has already built up a bit of a reputation . The Grammy winner’s shows feature hits from all 10 of her studio albums and routinely run three-plus hours.

In his review of Swift’s opening-night show, Times music critic Mikael Wood wrote , “[The] production rolled out like fan service of the most thorough and elaborate kind. ... But the concert was also a showcase of the range and versatility that have made Swift the most successful singer-songwriter in an age defined by hip-hop.”

Taylor Swift

At long last, Taylor Swift has arrived in Los Angeles for the final stop of her U.S. tour — or so fans thought.

Earlier on Thursday, Aug. 3 — hours before the superstar would take the stage at SoFi Stadium — she announced a second leg of North American dates for 2024. The new dates include stops in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis and Toronto. “Turns out it’s NOT the end of an era,” Swift wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

How to Buy Last-Minute Tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour in Los Angeles

And as she made perfectly clear on the first of her six-night run in L.A., slowing down is simply not in the cards. Neither is performing the same show night after night, as evidenced by the addition of two surprise songs to each set list, which Swift says is a fun way to challenge herself to dig deep into her extensive catalog — while also keeping fans on their toes, creating a sort of “gotta catch ’em all” energy.

But on Thursday, there was an even greater buzz radiating throughout the packed stadium as 70,000 fans poured in, many of whom were eagerly discussing rumors that Selena Gomez may make an appearance or that the next Taylor’s Version could be announced on this very night.

That’s the thing about the Eras Tour: it’s safe to expect the unexpected.

As it turns out, neither rumor was true. And yet, Swift’s opening night was nothing short of magical and filled with firsts, like having never performed at SoFi before or selecting a surprise song that she has never played live. And thankfully, it was all captured by a cameraman following her every move on stage, filming for something , as Swift managed to kick her power and poise into an even higher gear.

8 Ways Taylor Swift Has Changed the Music Business

The night also included stellar opening sets from Gracie Abrams, who will join Swift on her 2024 dates, and HAIM. Of the sister trio, Swift said: “Not only are these three individuals my besties, but they’re my favorite band,” also noting it was a hometown show for the rockers.

“We have a lot to catch up on, musically speaking,” Swift said later on. “I haven’t toured in five years before the Eras Tour; This is the last city on the U.S. leg and we knew we wanted to end someplace special.”

And that is was.

Below are the best moments from Swift’s opening night in L.A.

HAIM’s Not-So-Surprise Guest Appearance

Considering HAIM opened the show, fans were hoping they might return to the stage for their evermore collaboration with Swift – which thankfully, they did. (They performed it together live for the first time recently in Seattle). Relatively early in the three-and-a-half hour set, Danielle, Este and Alana joined their non-blood sister Swift for the dramatic “no body, no crime.” And though the sisters stood on their own platforms, Swift made the rounds, spending time with each before the foursome ended the song in a loving group hug.

The Potentially Record-Breaking Round of Applause

The evermore era was the gift that kept on giving. After Swift performed the affecting “Champagne Problems” at the piano, she was greeted with an applause so thunderous and so long it could have rivaled her own “10 Minute Version” of “All Too Well.” Swift explained how the song was one she felt most excited to perform live, having written it in the pandemic while deeply missing her fans.

By the time she was done, it was overwhelmingly obvious they missed her just as much. The applause lasted so long a teary-eyed Swift could hardly get a word in, opting to eventually place her head atop her keys and take it all in. She eventually took her in-ear monitors out, only to be more shocked by what was happening, telling the crowd: “That is a nice thing to do for someone when they’re starting out a six-night run at SoFi stadium…That’s very generous.”

Swift’s Oh-So-Subtle Glance Back

While wearing a stunning, sparkling and incredibly poofy princess gown, Swift delivered one of the Eras tour highlights: “Enchanted.” For much of the trek, that song alone represented Speak Now — but in July, following the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), the rallying “Long Live” was added to the mix. Following Swift’s rousing performance of the track, she sauntered to the back of the stage – pausing to quickly glance back over her right shoulder, with a smirk spread across her face and a visible twinkle in her eyes, just as she does on TV ’s album art.

A Very Special Recipient of the “22” Hat

During the Red era, Swift has made a point of gifting her black hat to one lucky recipient each night. Tonight, it was none other than Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka. As her mom, Vanessa, stood nearby, Bianka knelt in front of the stage wearing a layered tutu and sparkly jacket. After the two embraced, Swift gave her a kiss on the cheek before returning to the show.

Vanessa was wearing a particularly special outfit of her own, having made a custom Swiftie jean jacket that on the back featured a photo of Swift and her late husband Kobe from 2015, when the star athlete presented the singer with a banner for the most sold-out shows at the then-Staples Center. On the front of the jacket, Vanessa had a fitting lyric from Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” embroidered: “Say you’ll remember me.”

The All Too Fast "All Too Well"

Despite this being the last city on this first U.S. leg of the Eras Tour – and despite its unprecedented length for a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 – hearing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) will simply never get old. “Do you have about 10 minutes to spare?” asked Swift, knowing all too well that her fans would – and do – give her their undivided attention for over three full hours night after night. And even though the song’s length is in its title, it never quite seems that long, solidifying just how impressive a storyteller Swift is to pack such a full narrative into such a small window.

A Friendly Reminder Of the Month

“L.A., what month is it?” teased Swift with a smile, setting the scene for “August” during her folklore era. The moment did feel particularly magical, as it was the first time on this tour (and perhaps ever) that Swift performed the song during the month it was named after. And as she sang of summer slipping away, while running across the stage as if trying to chase it, the song took on extra meaning as this first leg of her history-making trek is seemingly doing the same.

A Monumental First

Swift’s surprise songs were so stellar that they deserve their own best moment breakout. She started the acoustic portion by explaining the idea behind the nightly surprise songs, saying it’s really a celebration of how supportive her fans are of her and her music. “Every night is different,” she says, “and that forces me to really go back through all of my songs and play ones that it would never occur to me to play live or I’ve never played live before, and so tonight, we got one of the ones that I’ve never played live before.” She then played the ominous “I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” off Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) to roaring applause. As any Swiftie knows, there are few things better than being able to say, “I was there.”

The Blush-Inducing Second Surprise Song

As Swift swapped her guitar for her piano, it was soon clear the second surprise song of the night was “Maroon” off Midnights . And though she has indeed played it before on the Eras Tour, the fan favorite was warmly received. In fact, a hush seemed to fall over the stadium during the song, allowing lines like “That’s a real f—ing legacy to leave” to hit even harder, considering Swift is leaving hers in real time before our very eyes.

A Perfect TV-Made Moment

During the final era of Swift’s impressively-long set, she hammed it up for Midnights track “Midnight Rain.” As she got to the end of the song she couldn’t help but have some fun with one particular lyric, singing directly into the camera lens: “And he never thinks of me / Except for when I’m on TV,” at which point she stuck out her tongue in a confidently playful manner. And while it remains to be seen what surprises Swift has in store for her five nights left at SoFi, this moment proved one thing to be certain: whatever may result from tonight’s footage will be a knockout… Are you ready for it?

Taylor Swift  rounded out her Los Angeles residency on Wednesday -- and she did not disappoint! On Aug. 3, the 33-year-old "Shake It Off" singer began her 6-night Eras Tour run at SoFi Stadium, and she's received lots of love from her famous friends and fans  every single night.

Swift drew a massive number of Swifties to the grand arena, which houses over 100,000 concertgoers, belting out some of her massive hit singles.

The sold-out concerts predictably drew a huge crowd of Hollywood's heavy hitters -- including Jamie King, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, Charlize Theron, Taylor Lautner, Emma Stone, Channing Tatum, Kevin Costner and many, many more. Here's a look at who turned up to Swift's celebrated shows.

Actress Jamie King -- who named Swift as the godmother of her son, Leo Thames, in 2016 -- attended the final show of Taylor's L.A. Eras Tour run on Wednesday. King took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of friendship bracelets, including one that read "godmother" as an ode to Swift!

Karlie Kloss  was also spotted at the show amid longstanding rumors that the former best friends previously had a falling out. Multiple fans posted videos to TikTok and Instagram of the 31-year-old model with her husband, Joshua Kushner, in the stands.

"[Karlie] initially was seated in the 200s sections, but at one point in the night, security took her to the VIP section," an eyewitness tells ET. "Fans were very surprised to see Karlie there. Karlie was recording some of Taylor’s performances on her phone and singing along to some songs. She looked like she was having a really good time."

Other notable stars in the building on night six included Kerry Washington, Adam Sandler, Amanda Kloots, Kyle Richards, Hillary Duff, Bru on the Radio, Caelynn Miller-Keyes, and Miles Teller's wife, Keleigh Sperry.

For his part, Lautner was spotted handing out friendship bracelets that read "Uncle Tay" at the Aug. 8 show.

Mindy Kaling took her daughter, Kit, out for her very first concert, gushing that it was "the best first concert EVER." Also in a celebratory mood, Charlize Theron was joined by her daughters as the actress partied the night away on her 48th birthday.

Among the other stars in attendance that night were: Cameron Diaz, Tiffany Haddish, Flavor Flav, Kevin Costner, Colton Underwood, Sophia Bush, Victoria Justice, Ashley Greene, Zoe Saldana, Sofia Richie, Kaitlyn Dever, Dane Cook, Haley Lu Richardson, Camilla Luddington, Noah Beck, Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Sarah Jeffery, Dita Von Teese, Renee Rapp, Michelle Monaghan, and Shannon Beador.

  Night 1:

On opening night of Swift's L.A. residency, Aly Raisman, Allison Holker, Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Dylan Mulvaney, Dixie D’Amelio, Danny Pudi, Hayley Kiyoko, Sarah Drew, Lizzy McAlpine, Babyface, Loren Gray, Kathryn Gallagher, Stephanie Styles, Molly Shannon, and Katie Couric were among those in attendance.

Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram to share a photo of the specially decorated ensemble she created to pay tribute to both Swift and her late husband, Kobe Bryant. Her jean jacket featured a photo of the Los Angeles Lakers legend surprising Swift on stage during her concert at the Staples Center in 2015.

Swift also surprised Vanessa and Kobe's 6-year-old daughter, Bianka Bryant, with her "22" hat and a sweet hug from the stage during the show.

Meanwhile, Modern Family alum Jesse Tyler Ferguson and husband Justin Mikita got in on the Swiftie craze by making friendship bracelets to trade with other friends at the concert.

"Justin told me I have to make these for the @taylorswift #erastour tonight," Ferguson captioned a photo of himself wearing several handmade bracelets. "I am 47 years old but I don't want to be underprepared."

The friendship bracelets are a popular trend among Swift's famous fans just as they are among her legion of diehard followers.Apart from Ferguson, many other stars showed off their bracelets on social media, including Sofia Carson, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Brie Larson, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Taylor Lautner's wife, Taylor Dome.

The official account for the Eras Tour also shared the news that friendship bracelets had been placed on every single seat in SoFi Stadium for the concerts, so everyone could get in on the fun.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department weighed in on the massive popularity of the shows and the security presence, stating that the "massive influx" of concertgoers required them to increase police presence at metro stations and on public transit.

"The (sheriff's) department, in coordination with LA Metro and the Los Angeles Police Department, will be providing additional law enforcement staffing throughout the Metro system to support the Taylor Swift concert series at SoFi Stadium," the LASD stated . "The department is providing a similar level of visibility as the 2022 Super Bowl in order to ensure the safety of the public throughout the Metro system."

Swift's run in Los Angeles wrapped up her first U.S. leg of her Eras Tour , and it comes to a close just as she recently handed out bonuses to a lot of the people who helped make it all possible.

ET learned earlier this week that Taylor gave $100,000 bonuses to around 50 of her production truck drivers and also gave bonuses to her band members, dancers, lighting and sound technicians, caterers and others -- all to the tune of over $5 million.

TMZ   was the first to report on the generous payouts and notes they are "end-of-the-tour" bonuses. Swift kicked off the United States leg of her concerts back in March in Glendale, Arizona, and finishes this weekend in Inglewood, California, before heading to Mexico.

Swift is already one of the  highest-paid  entertainers in the world, but now it looks like her  Eras Tour  could be the highest-grossing tour of all time, earning a record-setting  $1 billion in sales .

Taylor Swift Taps Paramore for European Eras Tour Run

Taylor Swift knows we need more — so she’s giving us just that. The singer has added 14 more shows to the European/U.K. leg of her Eras Tour , and announced that Paramore will provide support throughout the trek.

“Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour,” Swift wrote on Twitter Wednesday, July 5. “And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore !! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???”

Last month, Swift added dozens of shows to her Taylor Swift: The Eras stadium tour — bringing the total count of shows to a whooping 104 nights . She also extended her run at Los Angeles’ So-Fi Stadium with a sixth show scheduled for Aug. 7.

The new addition comes after the singer announced shows in Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Europe earlier this week. (See below for the full tour dates.)

“EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY 🙋‍♀️,” she wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates!”

She also added more dates to her already-announced Latin America tour. After wrapping her U.S. dates in Los Angeles on Aug. 9, Swift will head to Mexico City for four straight shows at Foro Sol starting Aug. 24. She’ll then stop in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil in November.

Swift first announced the tour last October after she completely took over the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 with Midnights . The added dates, which follow the addition of eight new shows last week, were slotted in “due to unprecedented demand,” according to the singer’s camp.

“Good Morning America, it’s Taylor,” Swift said during the announcement. “I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time and I’ve been planning for ages, and I finally get to tell you I’m going back on tour. The tour is called the ‘Eras’ tour, and it’s a journey through all of my musical eras of my career.”

The tour began on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona and extends through Aug. 9, where the singer will wrap with a fifth night at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Swift still has stops left in Detroit, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Seattle, and Santa Clara.

Slipknot Announce Here Comes the Pain Summer Tour

Taylor swift dominates entire top 10 on hot 100. again, billie eilish unveils 'hit me hard and soft' world tour dates.

Across the tour, Swift is being supported in select cities by a combination of special guests including Paramore, beabadoobee, Phoebe Bridgers, girl in red, MUNA, HAIM, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and OWENN.

The Eras tour follows the cancelation of her planned 2020 Lover Fest tour, which was originally going to see her make stadium stops in Los Angeles, Boston, and New York, along with Brazil, Denmark, Norway, and Poland. “This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future,” she wrote in 2021.

Swift last went the road in 2018 for her massive Reputation Stadium Tour , which saw Swift accompanied by the likes of Charli XCX and Camila Cabello across the United States, the United Kingdom, along with Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The tour was the highest-grossing music tour by a female artist that year.

Since her last tour, Swift has released four albums and two re-releases: Lover , Folklore , Evermore , Midnights , and Taylor’s Version editions of Fearless and Red with additional songs. In total, she’s dropped 90 tracks of new material, not including collaborations with the likes of Haim and Big Red Machine.

Fans have long wondered what music she’ll be performing on the road, with some theorizing that she’d host a residency in Las Vegas or a music festival where she’d perform different “eras” on different nights.

Along with packing her setlist with songs from Reputation in 2018, she surprised each city with an acoustic rendition of fan favorites like “Red,” “Holy Ground,” and “Wildest Dreams.” At select shows, she also brought out special guests. Shawn Mendes, Selena Gomez, Hayley Kiyoko, and Maren Morris were among the artists to be brought out by Swift.

The stadium tour was accompanied by a concert film released on New Year’s Eve that year.

Important information for buying tickets during the TaylorSwiftTix Presale powered by Verified Fan:

Our goal is to maximize the number of fans who have an opportunity to shop.

The link in your text will direct you to the show you were selected for — either a show that was available during registration or a show that was announced after registration closed.

If you were selected for a show available during registration, your code will enable you to shop  that  show  or any show in the same city  that was announced after registration closed. (You will not be able to shop a different show that was available during registration).

If you were selected for a show announced after registration closed — i.e., the link in your text directs you to one of those shows — your code is good for that show. We recommend you use the code for that show as it will have the greatest availability for you. If you choose, you can use your code instead for the show you prioritized first during registration; however, we expect demand for that show to be higher and your wait to be longer.

Remember, each code only allows you to purchase 6 tickets.

How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Conquered the World

The pop star’s record-breaking, career-spanning show has dominated the summer, commanding attention and whipping up demand at a level thought unachievable in a fragmented age.

  • Share full article

Taylor Swift, wearing a sparkly costume and knee-high boots and singing into a microphone, in front of a purple and pink fabric backdrop on the stage.

By Ben Sisario

Reporting from Kansas City, Mo., and New York

As Taylor Swift rolled into Los Angeles this week, the frenzy surrounding her record-breaking Eras Tour was already in high gear.

Headlines gushed that she had given $100,000 bonuses to her crew. Politicians asked her to postpone her concerts in solidarity with striking hotel workers. Scalped tickets were going for $3,000 and up. And there were way, way too many friendship bracelets to count.

These days, the center of an otherwise splintered music world can only be Taylor Swift.

The pop superstar’s tour, which is now finishing its initial North American leg with six nights at SoFi Stadium outside Los Angeles, has been both a business and a cultural juggernaut. Swift’s catalog of generation-defining hits and canny marketing sense have helped her achieve a level of white-hot demand and media saturation not seen since the 1980s heyday of Michael Jackson and Madonna — a dominance that the entertainment business had largely accepted as impossible to replicate in the fragmented 21st century.

“The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania,” said Billy Joel, who attended Swift’s show in Tampa, Fla., with his wife and young daughters.

In a summer of tours by stars like Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Morgan Wallen and Drake, Swift’s stands apart, in numbers and in media noise. Although Swift, 33, and her promoters do not publicly report box-office figures, the trade publication Pollstar estimated that she has been selling about $14 million in tickets each night. By the end of the full world tour, which is booked with 146 stadium dates well into 2024, Swift’s sales could reach $1.4 billion or more — exceeding Elton John’s $939 million for his multiyear farewell tour, the current record-holder.

Swift has now had more No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 over the course of her career than any other woman, surpassing Barbra Streisand. With the tour lifting Swift’s entire body of work, she has placed 10 albums on that chart this year and is the first living artist since the trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert in 1966 to have four titles in the Top 10 at the same time.

“It’s a pretty amazing feat,” Alpert, 88, said in a phone interview. “With the way radio is these days, and the way music is distributed, with streaming, I didn’t think anyone in this era could do it.”

But how did a concert tour become so much more: fodder for gossip columns, the subject of weather reports , a boon for friendship-bracelet beads — the unofficial currency of Swiftie fandom — and the reason nobody could get a hotel room in Cincinnati at the end of June?

“She is the best C.E.O., and best chief marketing officer, in the history of music,” said Nathan Hubbard, a longtime music and ticketing executive who co-hosts a Swift podcast . “She is following people like Bono, Jay-Z and Madonna, who were acutely aware of their brands. But of all of them, Taylor is the first one to be natively online.”

Swifties have chronicled the stream of celebrity fans who have turned up each night: Julia Roberts, the New York Jets’ new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, even Flavor Flav of Public Enemy. But Swift has also made each show a news event by adding two “surprise songs,” often with headline-grabbing guests. On the July day that she put out a music video featuring Taylor Lautner, an ex-boyfriend, the actor backflipped across the stage in Kansas City, Mo., and paid Swift effusive tribute — “not just for the singer you are,” Lautner said, “but for the human you are.” The crowd registered its approval with an earsplitting roar.

The Taylorpalooza extends to every level of the news media, which began the coverage cycle by chronicling Swift’s ticketing fiasco last November, when fans — and scalpers’ bots — crushed Ticketmaster’s systems, leading to a heated Senate Judiciary hearing . Since then, seemingly no nugget of Swift news has escaped coverage, from the stars in the stands to oddities like a Seattle concert that, according to one researcher, shook the ground with an intensity equivalent to a 2.3-magnitude earthquake .

Music critics have portrayed the Eras Tour as showing Swift at the top of her game as a media-savvy, big-tent talent, a pop star with a knack for grand spectacle as well as the polished artistry of a classic songwriter.

Shania Twain, the country-pop star whose career in some ways prefigured Swift’s, caught the Las Vegas stop of the Eras Tour, a 44-plus song production that goes as long as three and a half hours. She praised Swift’s “beautiful balance” of high-tech stagecraft and intimate performance segments. “I have to applaud her,” Twain said in a telephone interview. “As a performer, I know that work that goes into it.”

The power of Swift’s fan army — and fear of crossing the star, or even appearing to — has kept nearly all of the press about the tour sunny. Though some fans (and parents) balked at the ticket prices and challenges of securing seats, most frustration was directed squarely at Ticketmaster, not Swift. After a few weeks of headlines romantically linking Swift with a frontman some fans considered to be problematic, reports spread in the celebrity pages that they had split. (Swift’s representatives declined to comment for this article.)

For fans, the shows are a pilgrimage, and a rediscovery of the joys of mass gatherings. Flights are packed with Swifties, and travelers trade stories and compare outfits — drawn from looks associated with Swift “eras” — in stadium corridors and parking lots. In Kansas City, the comedian Nikki Glaser was attending her eighth show, a commitment that she estimated has cost her $25,000.

“This year I decided not to freeze my eggs,” Glaser said. “I’m going to put that money toward the thing I love most in the world, which is Taylor Swift.”

Before Eras, Swift hadn’t been on tour since 2018. And her catalog has grown by seven No. 1 albums since then, fueled in part by three rerecorded “Taylor’s Versions” of her first LPs — a project hailed by Swift’s fans as a crusade to regain control of her music, though it is also an act of revenge after the sale of Swift’s former record label, a move that, she said , “stripped me of my life’s work.”

“Folklore” and “Evermore” expanded her palate into fantastical indie-folk and brought new collaborators into the fold: Aaron Dessner from the band the National and Justin Vernon, a.k.a. Bon Iver, rock-world figures who helped attract new listeners.

The other major tour this year that is enticing fans to book transcontinental flights, and to show up costumed and in rapture, is also by a woman: Beyoncé, 41, whose Renaissance tour is a fantasia of disco and retrofuturism. Like Swift, she is also a trailblazing artist-entrepreneur, maintaining tight control over her career and fostering a rich connection with fans online. Together with Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” a critique of the patriarchy told in hot pink, they are signs of powerful women ruling the discourse of pop culture.

But in music, at least, the scale and success of Swift’s tour is without equal. Later this month, after completing 53 shows in the United States, she will kick off an international itinerary of at least 78 more before returning to North America next fall. Beyoncé’s full tour has 56 dates; Springsteen’s, 90. (Recently, Harry Styles wrapped a 173-date tour in arenas and stadiums, grossing about $590 million.)

Outside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, fans posed for selfies and shared their ticketing ordeals. Esmeralda Tinoco and Sami Cytron, 24-year-old former sorority sisters, said they had paid $645 for two seats. A stone’s throw away, Karlee Patrick and Emily DeGruson, both 18 and dressed as a pair in angel/devil costumes after a line in Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” sat “Taylorgating” at the edge of the parking lot; they said they had paid $100 for parking but couldn’t afford tickets.

As Swift’s opening acts finished, the crowd rushed in. Glaser, the comedian, later said that of the eight shows she had been to, her favorites were the ones where she had brought her mother — and converted her to Swiftie fandom.

“Everyone is in love with her,” Glaser said her mom told her after one show in Texas. “Now I get it.”

Taylor Swift

You didn’t actually think there wouldn’t be a world premiere for the Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour concert film?

The biggest theatrical exhibitor in the U.S. and the world, AMC Theatres, said Thursday that the most anticipated movie on the fall theatrical release calendar will be holding a world premiere event October 11 in Los Angeles. The venue is TBD.

The world premiere comes two days before the Sam Wrench-directed movie opens in north of 7,500 cinemas worldwide on October 13 at 6 p.m. local time. The pic is booked in more than 100 countries.

There’s no word yet whether Swift will be in-person, but hint hint, the Eras Tour concert film did secure a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement — that is if the strike is still going on at that time. That agreement allows Swift to feasibly promote the film. Also, it’s not clear whether the concert film will be a simulcast national event on Imax and premium screens. The Talking Heads reunion/40th anniversary live event Imax showing of concert pic Stop Making Sense made more than $641,000 in one night, making it the highest-grossing Imax live event pic ever at 165 Imax U.S. auditoriums and the BFI Imax in London.

Surely, Swift will be the one to take the money away and bury that Talking Heads record; that is if a live world premiere event is held.

A couple of weeks ago, we told you that the Eras Tour has earned north of $65 million in presales from the top three circuits in the U.S. (AMC, Regal and Cinemark) as well as Canada’s Cineplex and Mexico’s Cinépolis. Lord, knows that number is so much bigger. While many believe that Eras Tour has a shot at a $100 million opening for the AMC-distributed movie, even if it opens at $75M, that’s more than any major rock concert film from Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson or Miley Cyrus; heck, it’s more than the $56M global gross of the Spice Girls’ Spice World movie back in 1997 (that was a musical, not a concert film).

Swiss promoter hails Eras Tour’s ‘economic factor’

“Taylor Swift’s importance for Zurich is totally underestimated," says TAKK ab Entertainment AG's André Béchir ahead of the star's July shows

By James Hanley on 30 Apr 2024

André Béchir's contract with Gadget abc has ended

André Béchir

Swiss live music pioneer André Béchir has praised the economic impact of Taylor Swift’s forthcoming Zurich concerts, revealing that thousands of fans are travelling from outside Switzerland to attend the shows.

Swift will perform at the city’s Letzigrund Stadium on 9-10 July, promoted by AEG Presents, TAKK, Gadget abc Entertainment Group and Taylor Swift Touring, as part of the European leg of The Eras Tour .

“With an entourage of around 200 people, Taylor Swift is on the road with the largest tour group in the world,” Béchir tells Blick . “Around 100,000 fans will come to her two concerts. Well over 10,000 are traveling from abroad, as we can see from the ticket sales.”

Béchir leads CTS Eventim-backed TAKK ab Entertainment AG , which was established last year, alongside TAKK Productions founder Sebastien Vuignier and IQ  New Bosses alumnus  Théo Quiblier . Béchir’s  abc Production was amalgamated with Gadget and Wepromote by CTS  shortly before the pandemic hit.

“Taylor Swift’s importance for Zurich is totally underestimated,” adds Béchir. “After we announced it, hotel room prices were on average a hundred francs more expensive the next day.

“We are assuming that the fans will arrive early, which will be an unprecedented challenge for traffic and the corresponding security measures. The authorities involved and the stadium have been informed accordingly. It still doesn’t seem to be clear in the minds of those responsible here that Taylor Swift is not just a concert, but an economic factor.”

“Concerts of this magnitude are of great importance for local businesses and suppliers, the hotel industry and the catering industry”

“Concerts of this magnitude are of great importance for local businesses and suppliers, the hotel industry and the catering industry,” says the City of Zurich’s communications department. “Since the ‘Swifties’ are considered particularly committed, just a single photo of the superstar from Switzerland on social media can have a huge advertising effect.”

Swift’s 17-19 May concerts at Sweden’s Friends Arena (cap. 50,000) are also expected to be a “real hit” for Stockholm’s economy . According to calculations by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and Friends Arena, Swifties attending the concerts are expected to spend half a billion kroner (€43.6m).

According to the SCC, almost half of the 150,000 fans attending Swift’s Stockholm concerts will come from abroad, with people from 132 countries, including USA, Finland and Australia, set to flock to the shows in the Swedish capital.

Meanwhile, the opening leg of The Eras Tour , which ran to 50+ dates from March to August 2023, reputedly contributed $5.7 billion to the US economy . The Washington Post reported that her SoFi Stadium residency in Inglewood, California, brought an estimated $320 million alone to the Los Angeles economy.

Swift and other A-list stars have also been  credited with helping to rejuvenate tourism in Singapore  after the country secured a much-debated  exclusivity deal  with the star.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce 'Deepened Their Bond' After Time Off Together

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have "deepened their bond" during "all the time they've spent together recently," a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

"It makes the prospect of her tour more challenging. She'll be sad," the insider says, referring to Swift's Eras Tour which kicks off its European leg in a fortnight (see what we did there).

Both Swift, 34, and Kelce, also 34, understand that work is a priority, per the source.

"They support and respect [each other]," the source adds. "They have busy careers, so they understand those commitments, as difficult as it is."

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship Timeline

One major plus was Kelce being by Swift's side to celebrate the release of The Tortured Poets Department album, which officially dropped on Friday, April 19.

The same source tells Us that the couple took "a trip up the California coast" in order to "celebrate privately." The insider adds, "They're making the most of the time they have together." (The couple was spotted with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper on a joint vacation in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, Travis' mom , Donna Kelce , confirmed the trip upon seeing Cooper at QVC's Age of Possibility summit in Las Vegas earlier this week.)

Kelce has spent a lot of the NFL offseason in Los Angeles, filming new game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity and spending time with Swift. He was last on the football field when the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII against the San Francisco 49ers in February. The following month, Kelce, 34, accompanied Swift to her Eras Tour dates in Singapore before they returned to the West Coast.

A source previously told Us that Swift and Kelce were in their "nesting" era during their time off.

Every Time Travis Kelce Supported Taylor Swift at Her 'Eras Tour' Concerts

"They're focused on rest and recuperation and relaxing at home and having low-key and chill time together," the insider shared in March. "They are enjoying movie nights in her home theater, catching up on films and shows they've missed."

The couple was focused on "rest" and "spending quality time together" while they had "a break from the buzz of their careers." The source went on to say that Swift and Kelce are "scheduling" their respective projects in order to "see each other as much as possible."

The source added: "They don't want to spend too much time apart."

Swift and Kelce took their relationship public in September 2023.

Taylor Swift Is Not Attending the 2024 Met Gala to Focus on European Tour Dates

Swift kicks off her Europe tour in Paris on May 9

Melody Chiu is an Executive Editor at PEOPLE overseeing music, events and emerging content. She has been with the brand since 2009, editing, writing and reporting across all entertainment verticals. She has written cover stories on Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Melissa McCarthy, Blake Shelton, Jordan Turpin and Sandra Oh. The Los Angeles native graduated from the University of Southern California and has appeared on Extra! , The Talk, Access Hollywood and Good Morning America .

Taylor Swift is skipping the 2024 Met Gala , PEOPLE can confirm.

Despite reports that she would be attending , the singer, who just dropped her Tortured Poets Department album on April 19, is sitting out fashion's biggest night. Instead, she'll be focusing on rehearsals and tour prep ahead of her Eras Tour dates picking back up on May 9 in Paris before traveling all over Europe during the spring and summer.

The Met Gala, which always takes place on the first Monday in May, will be held on May 6, which would have been a tight squeeze ahead of the tour for Swift, 34.

Emma McIntyre/TAS23/Getty

TMZ previously reported that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, would not be attending the Met Gala this year.

Swift has already attended the prestigious night six times (her most recent appearance was in 2016) while Kelce has yet to make his debut at the prestigious event.

The Grammy winner has had a huge couple of weeks, following the release of The Tortured Poets Department as she prepares to head back out on tour. She has taken over the Billboard chart (again!), has seen her album rack up 1 billion Spotify streams in a week and emotionally shared glowing reviews for her work .

No big deal, right?

John Shearer/Getty

While there’s going to be a blank space with Swift absent, the Met Gala is sure to bring out all the heavy hitters in fashion.

This year’s theme is centered on the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will feature approximately 250 items — including 15 significant pieces such as an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown — that span over 400 years of history. “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” said Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of the Costume Institute.

Expectedly, the dress code is themed “The Garden of Time” and is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. The story follows a count and countess living “in their utopia of leisure, art, and beauty,” as noted by Vogue , who predicts that stars will show up in ensembles paying homage to florals, music and time.

John Lamparski/Getty

Zendaya , Jennifer Lopez , Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny will lead the pack as the four co-chairs of the night. Despite the Met Gala being a few weeks away, some of them have yet to finalize their looks (who can blame them, it’s a lot of pressure).

The Challengers actress, an already five-time attendee (her insane Cinderella transformations on the famous steps is simply unforgettable) told Vanity Fair recently that she still doesn’t “really know” what she’s wearing, but she has “ideas.”

Meanwhile, the This is Me…Now singer is still ruminating over a few potentials. “I have a few different sketches. I’m still deciding,” Lopez told Vogue this week. “I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute. Like, I like choices, and then I go, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today,’ and then we try to kinda create some type of amazing look — ‘cause that is the night for looks!”

Ahead of her Indy tour stop this year, Taylor Swift releases her eleventh studio album

los angeles eras tour date

Are you ready for it?

Ahead of her concert later this year in Indy, Taylor Swift released her highly-anticipated eleventh studio album "The Tortured Poets Department" on Friday.

Still no word on "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" though (sorry, Swifties).

Here's what we know about her new album.

When does 'The Tortured Poets Department' release?

Swift's newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department" dropped at midnight on April 19. Then at 2 a.m. she released a deluxe version of the album, "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology."

How manys songs are in 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

The original album consists of 16 songs, with four additional bonus tracks that were advertised as only available on certain vinyls or CDs. Each vinyl or CD variant includes a different one of the bonus tracks.

Making bonus tracks only available on physical copies and releasing them on streaming later is becoming a more common practice.

Swift did this with her previous album "Midnights" where the bonus track "You're Losing Me" was only available on a few CDs sold at live shows. Olivia Rodrigo recently released a deluxe version of her sophomore album "Guts," which includes all four of the bonus tracks that were originally only available on certain vinyl pressings, plus one new song.

Swift moved much quicker than that for this album.

By releasing the deluxe version of the album on streaming at 2 a.m., only two hours after the original dropped, 15 extra tracks, including the bonus tracks only on vinyl and cd, became available to stream.

So now all bonus tracks for this album are available on streaming, but not all the deluxe songs have physical copies (that we know of, yet).

When did Taylor Swift announce 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

At the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4, while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her previous album "Midnights," Swift announced her next project, another album titled "The Tortured Poets Department."

She has been teasing fans with track titles, lyrics, videos , Apple Music playlists , and even a pop-up art installation in Los Angeles with Spotify leading up to the release.

Will 'The Tortured Poets Department' be in the Eras Tour?

It is still unsure whether or not the remaining shows on her current tour, the Eras Tour, will be updated to include songs from her newest album.

She begins the European leg of her tour on May 9 in Paris, France, making it the first concert date after the release of "The Tortured Poets Department." Fans will have to wait and see if the album gets a more permanent spot in the show's setlist beyond being played during the surprise song segment.

When is Taylor Swift coming to Indy?

Taylor Swift announced in August she is bringing her "Eras Tour" to Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium for three nights, Nov. 1, 2 and 3.

How to get Taylor Swift tickets for Indianapolis?

You may still have a chance to see the Eras Tour in November.

Ticket sales through Ticketmaster are officially over, however, several marked-up tickets are still available for the Indianapolis shows on re-selling sites like StubHub and SeatGeek .

If you're still hoping to get tickets, they may be costly. Most tickets are priced are anywhere from $1,500 to almost $3,000 each, and the cheapest tickets are for seats near the top of the bowl.
