Metallica, one of the biggest names in heavy metal music, kick off their 2023-2024 world tour in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Fans of the band are excited to see them perform live once again, and the tour promises to be a memorable one. Here is all the information you need to know about the Metallica world tour, including the tour dates, venues, and ticket information.

Metallica 2023 worldwide tour kick-off on April 27, 2023, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, until November 12, 2023, in St. Louis, USA. In addition, Metallica 2024 world tour kick-off on May 24, 2024, in Munich, Germany, until September 29, 2024, in Mexico City, Mexico.

Metallica kick off their highly anticipated “M72 World Tour” in Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena on April 27th, 2023. This two-year worldwide tour supports the release of their latest album, 72 Seasons. Tickets for this monumental event are available now.

During the first night in Amsterdam, Metallica performed three songs from their newest album, 72 Seasons: “Lux Æterna,” “Screaming Suicide,” and “Sleepwalk My Life Away.” Of these three songs, “Screaming Suicide” and “Sleepwalk My Life Away” were played live for the first time ever, making it a historic moment for Metallica fans.

The concert was comprised of 16 songs, with each album receiving equal representation. They played three songs from their albums Ride the Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), and Metallica (1991), also known as “The Black Album.” Additionally, they played one song from each of their other albums, showcasing their entire discography.

The concert began with “Orion,” an instrumental classic from their album Master of Puppets, marking the first time since 2011 that the band has opened with this song. The night ended with the band’s legendary song “Master of Puppets,” which had gained popularity after being featured on Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Metallica’s performance also included masterpieces like “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Sad but True,” “Battery,” and “Seek & Destroy.”

Fans were disappointed that popular songs like “Enter Sandman,” “Wherever I May Roam,” and “Creeping Death” were not performed during this show. However, it is likely that these hits will be played during the second night of the Amsterdam tour stop, taking place on April 29th.

One of the unique aspects of this tour is that the band is performing in the round, meaning they are surrounded by the audience on all sides as they play in the middle of the venue.

Also, regular tickets for Metallica ‘s next concerts in 2023-2024 ticket prices start at about $150, with the lowest price appearing to be $127, and increasing according to the seats and levels purchased. Save for the earlier concerts ticket levels are not established except for their regular ones. This tour is most potentially contributing to Metallica ‘s net worth too .

During the tour, Metallica is visiting a total of 22 different cities worldwide and plays for two nights in each city.

Metallica ‘s tour opening acts include Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, and MammothWVH, Pantera, Architects, Greta Van Fleet, Volbeat, and more surprise music bands and artists.

Metallica Announces M72 World Tour 2023-2024

PRE-SALES BEGIN 9am LOCAL TIME NOVEMBER 30th

Today marks the announcement of every Metallica show booked through 2023 and 2024: Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only) and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica’s M72 world tour will see the band playing two nights in every city it visits—with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The M72 tour will feature a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age. Two-day tickets will be on sale Friday, December 2 nd at ticketmaster.com and will include the option of pre-ordering 72 Seasons vinyl and/or CD. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to the band’s All Within My Hands foundation . Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

Metallica have announced the “M72 World Tour,” a massive global trek that will see the legendary metal band play stadiums across North America and Europe throughout 2023 and 2024. The tour comes in support of the band’s upcoming album, 72 Seasons , which will be released on April 14th, 2023.

The “M72 World Tour” will see Metallica playing two nights in every city on their tour docket, with the promise of completely different setlists and support lineups. The rotating cast of opening acts include Pantera , Mammoth WVH, Greta Van Fleet, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Architects, and Ice Nine Kills. Additionally, the tour will feature a new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage.

METALLICA in Paris Night 2: See setlist and videos from M72 Tour

Metallica 's M72 World Tour continued tonight (May 19th) in Paris, marking the band's second performance in the French capital and the third date of the massive run, which began in Amsterdam last month. For this tour, James, Kirk, Rob and Lars are playing each location twice, and have promised "no repeats" of the same setlist, so this evening's configuration of songs was significantly different than what fans heard in Amsterdam and at the first Paris show , just two days before.

Metallica opened the 16-song set with a bang in the form of Ride the Lightning' s "Creeping Death," followed by ...And Justice for All' s "Harvester of Sorrow." They then played Death Magnetic' s "Cyanide," marking the song's first appearance on the M72 tour, and first live performance since 2018.

In terms of new songs, three 72 Seasons cuts were played: "If Darkness Had a Son," "You Must Burn!" and the title track.
