This show was a lot of fun. The band came off to me as a bit overly rehearsed at first, but what I soon realized is that when bands are well rehearsed, it usually means they have their sound down...which is definitely true of Monophonics. They bring big noise with a great lineup that includes sax, trumpet, trombone, along with three vocalists, guitar, bass and drums. By mid-song, they were routinely hitting the crowd with a huge, multi-layered wall of sound that made this a rocking dance show throughout. Highly recommend anyone to see these guys that loves soul and loves having a good time.

I've seen the Monophonics three times now. The first time was by accident after a late night at work. I was the closing bartender but decided I wanted to hit the Echo in Los Angeles for a second night in a row after a really good dose of funk the day before. I would never forget this night. Kelly Finnigan and the Monophonics are one of the greatest soul/funk bands of our time. I am blown away every time I see them that I'm able to get in a solid performance for under $30. I hope I can pay $100 to see them one day.
this was my fourth time seeing these guys and they never disappoint! the energy they put out is amazing.Lead vocalist Kelly Finnigan is a madman on the Hammond organ, not to mention his powerful voice. He knows how to draw in the crowd and get everyone to join in on the experience. If your a fan of funk, blues or psychedelic they're a must see. Keep on keeping it funky!
to watch them live was a real treat for us. we made sure to get there early so to be right up front for the whole performance and it was well worth it!!
soo much feels put into every lyric with just as much effort into to music... i left there exhausted!
you HAVE to dance to them! you HAVE to let the vibe carry you away! you can't deny the funk!
great all around.
An amazing show in Park City!! They have the right groove and feeling for this music! People went crazy and excited with all the songs. All the musicians were terrific. The vocal leader is a very passion musician. For me the only thing is that compositions are very simmilars one to other. Great Show!
One of the best soul bands I've ever seen! Better than Lee Fields, Charles Bradley, a notch below Sharon Jones. Kelly Finnigan is one of the best male singers today.
They performed about 80% released material (mostly from Sound of Sinning), 20% new unreleased.
super soulful singer. very throw-backy with the overall sound. new songs sound incredible. horn section is spot on with awesome solos.
bass player had a boring solo, guitar player was great. but the best part about the performance is the singer
The riffs were sharp, the band was right and Kelly's voice is absolutely one of my favorites. The room could have been a bit more energetic but it was a Wednesday. Hopefully next time they're in town they'll play on a Weekend.
Awesome band. Awesome sound. Awesome album. Awesome tour. Can't get enough of these guys. See them NOW before they get too famous and ticket prices go up!
Bang Bang they shot me down. :)
Yes we cannabis.
Live performance was amazing. The band sounded great and welcomed photos and questions about their performance and background. They had wonderful merchandise for sale such as t-shirts, tote bags and stickers.

MONOPHONICS + CROWD COMPANY
MONOPHONICS www.monophonics.com
“One of the best live soul bands I have ever seen!” – Al Bell (Record producer, songwriter, executive, and co-owner of legendary Stax Records)
Raised amid the rich musical culture and history of the San Francisco Bay Area, Monophonics proudly carry the torch through the generations into today’s musical landscape. Holding on to tradition, but by no means purists of any kind, they play their own brand of music known as “Psychedelic Soul.”
Following a sold out London show in 2016 the band return for a UK tour.
The 2012 release of Monophonics last album In Your Brain saw the band pulling influences from such acts as early Funkadelic, Sly and The Family Stone With the new album, Sound of Sinning the band explored other important influences. While the group has come to cherish these inspirations, with Sound of Sinning they started venturing beyond, to the groups that were inspiring those soul acts to embrace the psychedelic sound of the 60’s and 70’s.
Even with the experimentation of new musical territory, they display the sound that people know and love about Monophonics. Touching on Northern soul, doo-wop, funk, rock and roll, Psych pop, and cinematic music, Monophonics show off their diversity while remaining true to their roots. Overall it’s heartfelt music and old school vibes, without losing sight of the present. This is music steeped in that timeless feeling when people could write and produce songs that you could listen to over and over again
The band are renowned for incredible live shows and have firmly established themselves as one of the most in-demand bands of the genre.

Monophonics
The world’s premier psychedelic soul band, Monophonics, cordially invites you to attend the grand re-opening of the once-thriving, once vibrant establishment, the legendary Sage Motel . A place where folks experience the highs and lows of human existence. A place where big dreams and broken hearts live, where people arrive without ever knowing how they got there. It’s where individuals find themselves at a crossroads in life.
What started as a quaint motor lodge and a common pitstop for travelers and truckers in the 1940s morphed into a bohemian hang by the 1960s and 1970s. Artists, musicians, and vagabonds of all types would stop there as seedy ownership pumped obnoxious amounts of money into high-end renovations, eventually attracting some of the most prominent acts of the era. But when the money ran out, The Sage Motel devolved into a place where you rent by the hour.
Sage Motel , Monophonics’ fifth studio album since 2012, tells its story. Once again produced by brilliant bandleader Kelly Finnigan, the album captures a timeless sound that blends heavy soul with psych-rock. With their previous album, It’s Only Us , selling over 10,000 physical units and garnering over 20 million streams, Monophonics have built a reputation over the past decade as one of the most impactful bands in the country.
If these walls of the Sage Motel could talk, this is what they’d say. So join us as we examine where the stories are told and experiences unfold…..and sink into a soft pillow of soulful psychedelia…..down at the Sage Motel.

Tea and a tour of Balmoral Castle? That will set you back £150
For the first time visitors will be able to see areas of the Scottish castle used by Charles and Camilla – if they have deep pockets
Parts of Balmoral Castle used by the royal family will open to the public for the first time – for those who have deep pockets.
For £100 for an adult ticket – and an extra £50 for those wishing to partake of afternoon tea – guided summer tours of the castle in Aberdeenshire are being offered, limited to 40 people a day and in groups restricted to 10 people.
It is the first time since the castle’s completion in 1855 that visitors will be shown two dining rooms, the drawing room, the page’s lobby and the red corridor, where King Charles greeted Rishi Sunak.
The tour also includes access to the ballroom with a collection of Charles’s watercolour collection depicting scenery at Balmoral, Highgrove and Sandringham as well as a selection of outfits worn by Charles, Camilla, the late queen and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Previous tours, which will continue, have been of the grounds and gardens with access to the castle itself limited to the ballroom.
The tours, from 1 July until 4 August, before the king and queen arrive for their annual break, are being run for a trial period so estate staff can judge how the fragile building copes with increased footfall.
The £150 a head price tag for tour and high tea makes it the most expensive royal residence for visitors wanting the exclusive experience.
Buckingham Palace, which has long been open to the public during the summer months, charges £95 for an exclusive guided tour away from the crowds, though general summer admission with the masses costs between £32 and £35. Afternoon tea is not included, but at the nearby Ritz, the “afternoon tea experience” costs from £64.
St James’s Palace, which started guided tours in 2022 limited to 30 people, costs £80 for an adult. At the cheaper end of royal residence visits, Windsor Castle offers general adult admission at £30 in advance, while Sandringham House in Norfolk costs £24 and the Castle of Mey, the queen’s mother’s former Scottish home, is £14.50.
The Balmoral Castle website said experienced guides on the interior tour “will take you on a historical journey through several of the beautiful rooms within Balmoral Castle”.
It adds: “Travel through time from the purchase of the Balmoral by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, through to present day, where you can see how rooms within the castle are used today.”

King Charles opens Balmoral Castle to public for first time - but tickets aren't cheap
The Aberdeenshire castle, set in the Scottish highlands, is widely believed to have been Queen Elizabeth II's favourite residence and is where the royals have spent many of their summers.
Wednesday 3 April 2024 11:23, UK
Visitors will be able to tour parts of Balmoral Castle used by the Royal Family for the first time this summer.
Balmoral Castle, set in the Scottish highlands, is widely believed to have been Queen Elizabeth II's favourite residence and is where she spent most of her summers.
Guided "castle interior tours", which will take visitors to parts of the building used by the Royal Family, will now be available between 1 July and 4 August, with each group restricted to 10 people.
Tickets are priced at £100, or £150 with afternoon tea included, are limited to 40 tickets per day and are already selling fast.
The tours will end before the King and Queen arrive at Balmoral for their summer break in Aberdeenshire.
The Balmoral Castle website says the tours are the first of their kind since the building was completed in 1855.
Previous tours, which will continue, have concentrated on the grounds and gardens with access to the castle limited to the ballroom.

The website said the new tour will "take you on a historical journey through several of the beautiful rooms within Balmoral Castle".
"You will learn about the origins of the castle and how it has been loved by generations of the Royal Family.
"Travel through time from the purchase of the Balmoral by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, through to present day, where you can see how rooms within the castle are used today by their Majesty's The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family."
The tour also includes access to the ballroom with a collection of the King's watercolour collection depicting scenery at Balmoral, Highgrove and Sandringham as well as a collection of outfits worn by King Charles and Queen Camilla, the late Queen and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
Queen Elizabeth II spent much of Prince Philip's last years with him at Balmoral and died there herself on 8 September 2022 .
The tours of Balmoral Castle come as the East Wing of Buckingham Palace will be open to visitors for the first time this summer, when special guided tours of the principal floor will be available in July and August.
The East Wing includes the front facade of the historic building and features the famous central balcony, where the monarch and members of the Royal Family have gathered for public appearances during special occasions or historic moments since 1851.
The wing is still used by the Royal Family today for official meetings and events.
Small groups of visitors will also be able to visit rooms on the principal floor, including the principal corridor which runs the length of the wing, furnished with highlights from the Royal Collection.
