MSC Theme Nights 2024: the Schedule for all Ships!

Photo of author

April 9, 2024

theme nights on msc

All MSC Cruises have theme nights, but they can vary between ships . The theme is stated on the on-board program, which can be found in your stateroom the previous evening.

I want to make clear that dressing according to the theme is not mandatory, but if you like to have fun, dance, and really want to participate, it might be a good idea to follow the dress code for each night .

On week-long cruises, there are usually 3 or 4 theme nights, while on other evenings you can dress casually or smartly. So let’s find out the 2024 schedule for theme nights on MSC ships.

Table of Contents

  • White Night

White Night on MSC

You can find the White Night , or White Party, basically on every MSC cruise!

As the name implies, the dress code for the evening is to dress completely in white .

It should not be very difficult to find something to wear. I’m sure everyone has something in their closet.

Men can wear white pants or light-colored jeans along with a shirt or polo shirt . Perhaps if it’s winter, a white jacket might also fit.

Women can opt for a long or short white dress, a smart jumpsuit, or a matching set . The attire should reflect a chic but comfortable style to enjoy the festive evening that generally ends with music and dancing under the stars .

For the accessories, you can match white shoes, silver jewelry, and a small evening bag.

60s, 70s, 80s and 90s Night

For those who like to take a dip into the past, there is the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s theme night .

You can revive the atmosphere and styles of those years through an explosion of colors, music, and vintage style.

Men can wear flared pants, colorful jackets, t-shirts with prints or looks inspired by the rock stars of those decades.

Women have plenty of choices: psychedelic mini-dresses, skirts with optical or pleated prints, leggings and themed T-shirts or sequin-studded disco outfits .

The accessories can be headbands, oversized sunglasses, and flashy retro-style jewelry.

Make sure to wear something comfy because you will dance to the notes of the timeless hits of those years.

  • Casual Night

Casual night (on some ships also called smart casual) offers a nice break from elegance and formality .

There are usually at least a couple on these nights on each cruise, and during these evenings you can dress more relaxed.

Men can opt for chino pants or jeans, paired with long-sleeved shirts or polo shirts.

Women can choose simple dresses, skirts with tops, or just pants with blouses.

  • Tropical Night

party on MSC

The Tropical Night has a different name on some ships, you can also find it as Hawaiian Night or Flower Party .

The concept however does not change, you can should dress exotic, festive, and colorful.

Men can wear classic brightly colored Hawaiian shirts and light pants.

Women can wear floral dresses, long skirts, and colorful tops . The accessories can be flower necklaces, bracelets, and themed earrings.

Generally, this evening is followed by a beach party or a tropical pool party.

Gala or Elegant Night on MSC

The night that absolutely cannot be missed on cruise ships is the Elegant one , or as it is called on MSC “ The Gala Night “.

During this evening you can usually take a photo with the captain, and there is an elegant and glamorous atmosphere on board.

Men should wear tuxedos or dark suits, complemented by a tie or bow tie.

Women can wear long evening gowns or cocktail dresses. This evening is also perfect for wearing bright jewelry, elegant watches, and sophisticated accessories.

During the evening, there is generally a gourmet dinner, live music, and different performances.

  • Mediterranean Night

The Mediterranean Night can only be found on some MSC ships. The idea is to enhance the Mediterranean style through food and music.

How to dress for the Mediterranean evening ? I have to say that this evening is the one for which it is most difficult to choose clothing.

It seems that Mediterranean evening is more about the restaurant menu than the actual attire. Some people opt for clothing that recalls the colors of the Italian flag .

If you don’t want to go wrong, you can wear green . During the Mediterranean evening, both the tablecloth and the waiters’ aprons at the restaurant are sage green.

Thank you for this VERY useful information. The last cruise I was on during the dancjng evening everyone was in white and I was WONDERING what was going on!? Haha… This time I will go prepared 🙂

Thank you very much Joanna, I am very happy that the article was useful to you and I wish you a good cruise!

Thank you for sharing! Very helpful in our upcoming cruise! 🙂

Good Luck knowing what night is what. We are on the ship and have no way of knowing when each themed night is. We arrived at the dinning room only to find it was formal night. Needless to say we were not allowed in the dining room as we’re not dressed correctly. But nowhere on the ship did we see it was formal night. We are not given the daily hand out like on the other ships. Sea shore you are lacing in informing your passengers

Fantastic article, thank you. Is there a way to find out (before sailing) which night of our sailing is assigned to each theme?

Thank you for posting this very useful information.

MSC Cruises Formal Nights – Everything You Need To Know

If you are thinking about taking an MSC cruise you are probably wondering if MSC have formal nights. I’ve been on 3 MSC cruises to date and I personally love how relaxed the dining atmosphere and dress codes are.

MSC ships are elegant and modern, they provide the perfect backdrop for guests who do want to dress up..

Do MSC Cruises Have Formal Nights?

MSC have formal nights on every cruise. On a 7 night cruise, there will usually one formal night, on cruises longer than 7 nights there will usually be two formal nights. The dress codes are relaxed with 96% of cruisers describing the dress code as relaxed.

There is a dress code for the main dining room on all nights of an MSC cruise. MSC have both ‘gala’ and ‘dress to impress’ nights, the dress codes are the same for both so both will be addressed in this post

In this post we cover:

  • On what nights the formal nights happen
  • Where the dress code applies
  • Dress codes for dining on non-formal nights

MSC Cruises Formal Nights Gala Elegant Dress Code

How Many Formal Nights Do MSC Cruises Have?

On a 7 night cruise, you will usually have around 2 gala/elegant nights, this is usually one of each.

On cruises 1-6 nights in length, you may only have a single gala-night.

This number of gala nights does vary and MSC is able to change this as and when they see fit. On longer cruises, the number of gala or elegant nights will increase proportionally, on a 14-night cruise you may expect 4 gala or elegant nights.

What is The Difference Between Gala and Elegant Nights on MSC Cruises?

Gala nights are when a special menu is served in the main dining room, created by a Michelin starred chef. On gala nights guests have the opportunity to have photos taken with the captain and these nights tend to be when guests wear their favourite outfits.

Elegant nights are similar to Gala nights but there is no special menu and no captains photos.

The dress code is the same for both.

On longer cruises, you will find more elegant nights but there is usually only one gala-night.

MSC Cruises Photos With Staff, Captain and Crew

On Which Day Do MSC Have ‘Formal Nights’?

If your cruise has sea days:.

If you are taking a cruise which has sea days MSC will usually try and put the gala night on the sea day. This is because guests have the most time to get ready and the formal night becomes the event of the day.

If your cruise doesn’t have sea days:

If your cruise doesn’t have sea days there are a number of days where it could be. MSC very rarely put the gala night on the first night because guests may not have their bags and are tired from travelling.

Similarly, the gala night will rarely be on the last night because the passengers have already packed their bags and it isn’t practical to dress in formal wear at this stage. I personally always avoid gala nights if they are at the end of the cruise, I’ve usually worn all of my favourite clothes and am feeling more like relaxing.

What is MSC’s Formal (Gala/Elegant) Night Dress Code?

Gala or elegant nights:.

MSC’s gala night dress code is more of a suggestion than an enforced set of guidelines.

I’ve cruised on 13 major ocean cruise lines to date and MSC are one of the most relaxed when it comes to dress codes. If you have cruised with Royal Caribbean or any other big American cruise line make sure you check out this post which highlights the differences between the lines: 10 differences between MSC and NCL/Royal Caribbean.

MSC’s official dress code, as stated on their website is as follows:

For Gala evenings, the dress code is more formal. We suggest a tuxedo, dinner jacket, or dark suit and tie for men and a dressy outfit, formal gown, or cocktail dress for women. – source.

What to Wear on MSC’s Formal (Gala) Nights:

Men – According to MSC’s guidelines men are encouraged to wear a tuxedo, suit or dinner jacket to dinner. Although a few guests do this, it is far from the majority. The majority of male guests on an MSC cruise will wear a shirt with chinos/trousers, many will also wear polo shirts and this always seems to be okay.

Women – Women have the option to either wear a skirt, dress or trousers. A simple skirt/trousers paired with a nice blouse would be more than acceptable. Women are encouraged to wear evening gowns but the majority do not, almost any dress would be suitcase for MSC’s formal (gala) nights as long as they weren’t too revealing or completely impractical.

Children – For children the relaxed dress code is relaxed even further. Around 1/3 of MSC’s passengers are families so this is a big percent of guests onboard. If you do have children travelling with you and they would like to dress formally they definitely wouldn’t look out of place but I wouldn’t worry too much about what children should wear. You certainly won’t be turned away from the main dining room because of the way your child is dressed (providing they are dressed of course)!

MSC Cruises Formal Nights Dress Code For Children

What Not To Wear:

There are only a few items of clothing that aren’t allowed on MSC’s formal (gala) nights :

  • Jeans (You could get away with smart black jeans if worn with a shirt but I wouldn’t try to wear blue denim)
  • Swimwear, this one is pretty self explanatory

Will I Look Out of Place if I do Dress Formally?

No! Absolutely not. Lots of MSC cruisers love the elegance of formal nights and embrace it wholeheartedly. You’ll see lots of passengers in long gowns or tuxedos. I would definitely not worry about being overdressed, I don’t really think that is possible. On cruises I’ve seen lots of people wearing their prom dresses and some even wearing their wedding dresses again!

One of my favourite phrases is ‘It’s impossible to be overdressed, people will either think you’ve come from somewhere exciting or are going somewhere exciting’.

Where Does The Formal Night Dress Code Apply?

Unlike some other cruise lines where the dress code is enforced ship wide, this isn’t the case on MSC cruises.

The dress code for formal (gala/elegant) nights is enforced only in the main dining room. If you don’t want to take part in formal nights there are other places where you can eat.

msc meraviglia main dining room

Other Places To Eat:

If you do want to avoid the formal (gala) dress codes you can do this by eating in another restaurant onboard. The restaurants onboard do vary by cruise ship but generally speaking your options are a buffet, room service ($$$) or a speciality restaurant ($$$).

  • Most guests who don’t want to take part in formal nights instead eat in the buffet. It’s by far the easiest place to go to grab a bite to eat and the dress codes in the buffet are very relaxed. You are not allowed to wear swimwear and shoes must be worn but these are the only requirements.
  • Room service is available on MSC cruises but there is a charge per item so I personally haven’t ever tried this. It’s much easier just to take food from the buffet back to your room. Walking is one of the main ways that I keep fit when I cruise, to learn more about how I do this, check out this post:  Avoid Cruise Ship Weight Gain – 7 Easy Things You Can Do
  • All MSC cruise ships have a number of speciality restaurants which cost extra. Some speciality restaurants have a flat fee to dine in the restaurant and others are charged by item. Examples of speciality restaurants on MSC include Butchers Cut (steak), Eataly (Italian), Teppankayi (Sushi).

To learn more about the included food options on MSC cruises, and which things aren’t included, check out this post:  Do MSC Cruises Include Meals? Your Guide To Whats Included

Do MSC Cruises Include Meals? (Firsthand Experience) – Your Guide To What is Included

What is The Dress Code on Non Formal Nights?

On nonformal (gala/elegant) nights the dress code on board is very relaxed.  Based on my experiences of cruising with MSC I really believe you could wear almost anything.

I love how relaxed the dress codes are on MSC cruises, technically speaking the only restrictions are that guests shouldn’t wear tank tops, bikinis, bathrobes, or have bare feet in any restaurant at any time.

Can You Wear Shorts in the Main Dining Room on an MSC Cruise?

Technically speaking no. That said, I saw PLENTY of people in the main dining room wearing shorts during my MSC cruises. This definitely wouldn’t be allowed on formal nights but on most casual nights I doubt in reality this would be a problem. I’m sure I’ve done it on occasion…

I constantly recommend MSC to families and young cruisers, to find out why, check out the recommended cruise lines page here:  Best Cruise Lines For Families (Tried & Tested, Pros & Cons!)

Many Americans Don’t Know The World’s Third-Largest Cruise Line – We Sailed MSC to The Caribbean to See What It’s Like

Many Americans Don't Know The World's Third-Largest Cruise Line - We Sailed MSC to The Caribbean to See What It’s Like

More than 35 million travelers will cruise this year, and many of them are sailing with MSC Cruises around the world. Relatively new to the American vacationer, this family-owned line started offering U.S. cruises in 1998 but has become more popular in North America in the past couple of years.

So, this Spring Break, my daughter and I took a 3-night cruise from Cape Canaveral Florida to the Caribbean to see for ourselves why so many Americans are hitting the sea for vacation, and increasingly with MSC Cruises.

<p>So many of our friends and family rave about cruising and choose to vacation this way repeatedly. As a non-cruising family, we’ve been intrigued by all of their stories of exploration and family fun, and were excited to try it out for ourselves. </p> <p>“Our data shows that the top things that Americans associate with cruising is having fun, being entertained, and relaxing. Being able to experience a new destination with new experiences nearly every day adds to the attractiveness of cruises,” shares Ben Harrell, Managing Director, U.S. at <a href="https://www.booking.com/" rel="noopener">Booking.com</a>. “Not surprisingly, almost one-quarter (22%) of Americans surveyed plan to take a cruise in 2024, which is nearly double the global average, and an increase from 2023.”</p>

Why Are So Many People Cruising?

So many of our friends and family rave about cruising and repeatedly choose to vacation this way. As a non-cruising family, we’ve been intrigued by their stories of exploration and family fun and were excited to try it out for ourselves.

“Our data shows that the top things that Americans associate with cruising is having fun, being entertained, and relaxing. Being able to experience a new destination with new experiences nearly every day adds to the attractiveness of cruises,” shares Ben Harrell, Managing Director, U.S. at Booking.com . “Not surprisingly, almost one-quarter (22%) of Americans surveyed plan to take a cruise in 2024, which is nearly double the global average, and an increase from 2023.”

<p>A OnePoll survey reveals that 60% of surveyed Americans don’t believe there are enough hours in the day to get everything done, let alone plan a vacation. Once you’ve booked your cruise, you can look forward to the fun, not another to-do list of meal and activity reservations. And due to the all-inclusive nature, you won’t have to stress about going over budget either. </p> <p>“Beyond the strong value of a cruise – with accommodations, meals and entertainment all included in the cost – cruises are also a highly convenient vacation type. Travelers are not only looking to get away, but they’re looking to escape their everyday stresses,” explains Colleen McDaniel, Editor-in-Chief of Cruise Critic. “ Once you’re onboard your cruise, most of the planning and arrangements are handled for you. You don’t have to worry about packing and unpacking, and there’s no need to spend time navigating various forms of transportation. The cruise line takes care of all of that for you.”</p>

A Cruise is an Easy Button in a Busy World

A OnePoll survey reveals that 60% of surveyed Americans don’t believe there are enough hours in the day to get everything done, let alone plan a vacation. Once you’ve booked your cruise, you can look forward to the fun, not another to-do list of meal and activity reservations. And due to the all-inclusive nature, you won’t have to stress about going over budget either.

“Beyond the strong value of a cruise – with accommodations, meals and entertainment all included in the cost – cruises are also a highly convenient vacation type. The cruise line takes care of all of that for you.”

<p>“The value of a cruise has never been more evident – especially as travelers are eager to book vacations, but are looking to dodge increasing costs. And that goes for the more budget-friendly mainstream lines, as well as luxury and river lines that include more amenities and offerings in their higher base fares. Whatever your budget, you’re sure to find a cruise to fit your needs and expectations – and the value is so much greater at sea than many land-based options,” continues McDaniel.</p>

When the Cost of Everything Goes Up, Cruises Look Even More Attractive

So while there’s certainly a European flair onboard, you’ll still have all the creature comforts of home,” adds McDaniel. </p>

<p>As a non-cruising family, I wasn’t familiar with Wave Season, typically from December to March. It is when cruise lines offer some of their best deals of the year. So if you’ve missed Black Friday offers, you still have time to lock-in sale prices at the beginning of each year. Last Wave Season, MSC offered deals worth $1,000 for shorter cruises and $2,000 for 7 days cruises for a family of four. </p> <p>However, sign up for the cruise line’s email list to be notified of mid-year offers. </p>

When’s the Best Time To Book a MSC Cruise?

However, sign up for the cruise line’s email list to be notified of mid-year offers, as you never know what sale you can catch. In early April, I received some very tempting email offers. We enjoyed ourselves on MSC so much that I just might take them up on one of them and book a longer trip. It looks like we’re cruisers now.

Gala night, theme night, white nights. How do you know?

Cool Cruiser

I’m cruising on Divina in April 2023. I generally dress more “up” unless I’m in the pool and I do like a tux on gala nights and a jacket on most other nights that I’m in the MDR. However I’m doing this cruise solo so definitely not packing my tux because when travelling solo I am a “carry on only” traveller. So, I will bring a jacket and slacks but how do I find out if we have any white nights or theme nights planned?

if there is a place on the website where I can find this info I’d like to know. While I’m older (63) and can’t dance the night away anymore I do like to participate dress-wise and enjoy the festivities albeit as an observer.

Any info from recent Divina itineraries to help me pack?

I'm not aware of any place where you would learn of the "parties" onboard any particular upcoming MSC cruise. If you're sailing a 7-nt cruise, you most assuredly will have a White Night party and a 70's Night party. So bring some white clothes and your old bell bottoms so you're ready!

Divina seems to be doing mostly those short-haul weekend escape cruises to Ocean Cay, etc. No gala night on such less than 7 night cruises. Either way: Trousers and collared shirt is more than enough for a gentlemen's MSC's gala night.

As regarding theme nights they're entirely optional and even on say, a white night it is common to see people with other colors on the audience. The daily planner will tell you the previous night what days are themed and such things. The short-haul cruises tend to be more relaxed dress wise, IMHO.

Sorry. It is a 7 night cruise. I should have included that info.

Boa tarde amigo,

Yes, I know a shirt and slacks are fine. It’s just a personal preference that I wear a jacket to dinner.

cheira bem, cheira Lisboa.

I’ve been on the Divina 3 times since October - Two 7 night and One 12 night. Both 7 nights had 2 Gala Nights, a White Night & Flower Power (60s/70s) night.

Muito obrigado pelas palavras amigas!... (Many thanks to the kind words!...) Just out of curiosity: Are you from Portuguese origin!... So nice to see this here!... 🙂

That's my preference as well to use a jacket for dinner, sometimes even on non gala nights!... But sadly the worldwide trends to each time less formality... And TBHH; airline luggage allowances are each time lower elsewhere as well, so now my trick is just to dress the suit for my flights and then to use the jacket on gala night and on nights when the temperature would be on the lower side. By the norm I use collared shirt and trousers every day for dinner on a cruise. Here in Europe we seem to be sort on the more formal side of the pond on that one, but really a jacket I'd only "compulsorily" to use on the first gala night for Captain's presentation. On the 2nd gala I and most of the crowd use to relax a little more... Back in the day I used to use a tie for gala night... Not anymore!...

Tenha um bom fim-de-semana!... (have a nice weekend!...)

I’m Anglo Canadian not Portuguese, but I married into a Portuguese family so I’m an honorary Portuguese now. They’re from Pico and I love the Azores. I’ve been to Lisboa and Porto as well.

I love Fado, red wine and Portuguese food. And the people. Right now I listen to Cuca Roseta a lot. Beautiful voice, wonderful fadista.

Ta log, amigo e boa noite.

Thanks

Wonderful, many thanks! I'm from Lisbon, currently living in the countryside near Holly Mother of Fátima Shrine!... But I know very well the wonderful Azores and their huge relationship with the sea!... I had family and friends there for quite a while and I have extensively traveled there!... Wonderful food there as well, especially the famous "cozido das Furnas" (such a unique volcanic land prepared meat and vegetables Portuguese stew from Furnas in Azores)!...

Cuca Roseta is a very interesting, talented and versatile women voice, far from only Fado!... And a few years ago she worked with a small cruise venture here in Portugal that didn't endure too much!... I believe she was one of the cruise directors for late MS Funchal at their final operational year! So; cruising is very well on our both interests!... I currently am unable to take any cruise for many reasons... Maybe next year if things go the right way, who knows!... But it is a very enjoyable sort of holidays and it is becoming quite popular here!...

Tenha um bom domingo!... (Have a nice Sunday!...)

6 top transatlantic cruises for 2024.

Journey across the Atlantic while enjoying all the amenities at sea.

The Top Transatlantic Cruises

Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2 in New York.

Sailing from New York to England on Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2 is just one of many transatlantic offerings in 2024.

Transatlantic cruises are unique when you compare them to traditional cruises most people book for family trips and romantic getaways. These voyages tend to be longer in general, and they have more built-in days at sea and offer a lot more time on board as a result. Repositioning cruises that include a transatlantic crossing tend to attract more retirees and travelers who just want to relax and enjoy their ships' amenities, especially since fewer days in port means fewer excursions and more time doing nothing at all.

That said, the fact that transatlantic cruises can last as few as seven nights means they may fit in your plans more easily than you may think. There are also some benefits to transatlantic crossings that may not be obvious, including lower nightly rates, more onboard credit, and more time to kick back and relax at a floating luxury resort in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

If you're curious which transatlantic cruises are best for 2024, here are six top picks with different cruise lengths, itineraries and unique destinations to explore.

Choose from a seven-night sailing from Brooklyn, New York , to Southampton, England; a nine-night sailing to Hamburg, Germany ; and an 18-night round-trip sailing that departs from Brooklyn and crosses the Atlantic twice on the way back to its starting point. This unique combination of itineraries lets you cross the sea and tailor your trip to how long you want to be away from home.

The 18-night itinerary is especially interesting, since it lets you depart from the United States and arrive back in Brooklyn in the end with stops in both England and Germany, as well as plenty of sea days in between. Luxury cruise line Cunard is known for its elegant design, lush amenities and upscale feel, and the Queen Mary 2 is one of the line's most luxurious ships. Highlights on this exclusive vessel include the Royal Court Theatre, a casino, gala evenings, an onboard spa and a vast library. The Queen Mary 2 holds up to 2,691 guests with 1,173 crew to cater to your every need.

Departure from Miami is followed by nine days at sea. Then, you'll enjoy multiple stops in the Canary Islands – including Santa Cruz de La Palma and San Sebastián de La Gomera – as well as stops in Praia and Mindelo the Cape Verde archipelago.

This journey with Seabourn makes it possible for travelers to see some of the most beautiful and remote tropical islands in the world. The Canary Islands are known for their white sand beaches , volcanoes and lush greenery; similar landscapes can also be found in Cape Verde's coastal towns and villages. Seabourn Quest, a smaller ocean vessel, accommodates just 229 guests.

Departure port: Southampton, England

Starting price: $769 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 16 nights

The MSC Virtuosa from MSC Cruises is repositioning from Europe to the Caribbean in November 2024, which gives travelers the chance to enjoy a lengthy transatlantic crossing with plenty of unique ports. This sailing departs from England with eight sea days plus stops in France, the Azores of Portugal, St. Maarten , Antigua and Barbuda, and Martinique . The ship ends its journey in Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe.

The MSC Virtuosa is a larger cruise vessel that boasts an impressive grand promenade with a LED dome ceiling, dedicated clubs for children and teens, an onboard spa, a lavish casino and the luxurious MSC Yacht Club section of the ship. This vessel holds a maximum of 6,334 passengers at once.

Departure port: New York City (Manhattan or Brooklyn)

Starting price: $4,098 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 31 nights

Princess Cruises also offers its share of transatlantic sailings on various vessels. Its 31-night crossing from New York to Barcelona, Spain , on Island Princess in July 2024 is jam-packed with exciting destinations to explore. This lengthy transatlantic voyage has only 13 sea days with planned stops in Canada's Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England, Spain, Portugal and Morocco before the journey ends in Barcelona.

This intriguing sailing experience with Princess takes passengers to eight different countries in the span of a month. Island Princess is a nice ship for a long sailing because of its smaller size, with just 2,200 passengers and 900 crew. But the ship is also large enough to have a huge selection of included and specialty dining options, a Vegas-style casino, a sports court, a large central atrium for gathering, and several pools and hot tubs to enjoy.

Celebrity Cruises

Date: Departs April 11, 2024

Departure port: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Starting price: $760 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 12 nights

Celebrity Cruises is offering a 12-night sailing on Celebrity Equinox in April 2024 that starts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida , and ends in Lisbon, Portugal – making it possible for travelers to enjoy eight relaxing days at sea. What's interesting about this sailing is its stops along the way, which include the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda; Porta Delgada in Portugal's Azores archipelago; and Porto in mainland Portugal.

The Celebrity Equinox accommodates a maximum of just 2,852 passengers at once, so this Celebrity vessel is a solid choice for travelers who want just the right size ship instead of a smaller vessel or a megaship. There are also plenty of onboard features to keep you happy and entertained as you float across the Atlantic Ocean, including The Casino, The Lawn Club with outdoor games like bocce ball and croquet, The Martini Bar, the adults-only Solarium and more.

Royal Caribbean International

Dates: Departs Oct. 24, 2024

Departure port: Barcelona, Spain

Starting price: $876 per person (plus port taxes and fees)

Cruise length: 14 nights

Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas is hosting a transatlantic voyage in October 2024 that departs from Barcelona, Spain, and ends in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This vessel will make stops in Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Cartagena and Málaga in Spain, then spend eight days at sea. After that, enjoy a day in Nassau in the Bahamas before the cruise drops passengers off in sunny Florida.

Interior staterooms on this Royal Caribbean sailing start at just $876 per person (plus port taxes and fees), which works out to around $60 per night, per person. The Oasis of the Seas megaship can hold a total of 6,771 guests and 2,109 crew, so it's an enormous vessel – to put it mildly. This size may not be ideal for travelers who want a more intimate cruising experience, but it's perfect for cruisers who want plenty of space to spread out and endless activities to take part in. Oasis of the Seas boasts 20 different restaurants and cafes, 11 bars and lounges, a variety of pools and whirlpools, a rock climbing wall, the AquaTheater diving and entertainment venue, mini-golf, a casino and plenty more.
