This REMASTERED DVD is sourced directly from the original high quality LaserDisc to DVD for the first time ever! Quality is unmatched as it transferred from the long since deleted LaserDisc from OVER THIRTY EIGHT years ago.

Background: The original release date was June 08, 1985 only two months after shooting which is a very fast turnover by industry standards. Originally broadcasted as a simulcast on Westwood One Radio Network in America with a simultaneous airing of the visual concert on MTV. This rare concert was issued on LaserDisc format only in US, UK and Japan. The VHS was also released in the US with separate releases throughout Europe in the PAL format. There was even a “Video 8” format release of this rare concert in England. This concert was reissued in 1994 as part of a limited edition CD & Video Double Pack, featuring the original VHS cassette and an exclusive compact disc.

There are no other known releases of this concert in any other format in the world. The rare USA release of the LaserDisc was sourced for the REMASTERING of this DVD. Still to this day, this vintage concert has NEVER been officially released in ANY COUNTRY on DVD until NOW! So here, offered in the best possible quality, available for the first time ever  is the REMASTERED from LaserDisc to DVD for all of you who love Ms. Tina! Description: Private Dancer Tour features selected tracks from the legendary concert at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on March 23, 1985 as part of Tina’s Private Dancer Tour. It includes also special appearances by David Bowie and Bryan Adams. It’s interesting to note that the following year in 1986, Tina received a Grammy nomination for this concert in the category of “Best Long Form Music Video”

LIVE-AID July 13, 1985, at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia USA: In the past Tina toured with the Rolling Stones  in the ’60s, so this pairing of lead singer Mick Jagger and Tina was a natural. The duo performed “State of Shock” and the classic “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll”. It was a memorable performance as Mick Jagger decided to yank off Tina’s miniskirt in an impromptu moment and Tina just went with the situation and continued performing. The show must go on! The 179-date tour encompassed Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. Turner also played a show in Budapest, the only show of the tour behind the Iron Curtain.
