The clear, unpolluted skies of Queenstown are the perfect setting for Skyline Queenstown's stargazing experience. Perched high above Queenstown, and surrounded by snow-capped mountains, keen stargazers have the opportunity to access a 'hidden world' not seen by the naked eye, and impossible to see in many other locations around the world. Skyline Stargazing takes visitors to a specially-constructed area high above the Gondola, away from light pollution, allowing for an unbelievably clear view of the night sky. Top-of-the line telescopes give stargazers the chance to view an amazing array of stunning sights, from the iconic Southern Cross, to nebula, planets, the Milky Way and other galaxies. Stargazing tours are available daily after dark.

Skyline Gondola Stargazing Enjoy an evening gondola ride with the sprinkling lights of Queenstown far below as you head up the mountain to experience a fascinating stargazing tour. With the stunning backdrop of the mountain and lake scenery, a professional Stargazing Guide will enable you to explore the hidden skies not seen by the naked eye, and impossible to see in many other locations of the world. Learn about Maori starlore and observe constellations, nebulas, far away galaxies and our neighbouring planets.
- Pricing: Gondola & Stargazing - Adult - $119 / Child - $79 (As of March 2022)
- Tour Duration: 45 mins
- Start Time: 7.00pm check-in at the Stratosfare Bar at the top of the Gondola. Grab the gondola ride at least 30 mins before the tour to allow enough time.

Description.
The clear and unpolluted skies of Queenstown are a great setting for Skyline Queenstown's stargazing tour.
Nestled on Bobs Peak high above Queenstown, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, stargazers have the opportunity to access a 'hidden world' of the nights sky not seen by the naked eye and impossible to see in many other locations around the world.
Skyline Stargazing takes visitors to a specially constructed area high above the Gondola, where there is no trespassing light, allowing for an unbelievably clear view of the night sky.
Top-of-the line telescopes give stargazers the chance to view an amazing array of stunning sights, from the iconic Southern Cross, to nebulas, planets, the Milky Way and other galaxies.
Stargazing will be outdoors when conditions allow, otherwise guests will embark on “A Journey through the Night Sky” in the indoor Theatre Space, using state-of-the-art technology and projection to replicate our Night Sky here in Queenstown. A Journey through the Night Sky is presented by professional Stargazing Guides and features recent photos and videos from current NASA missions. This experience comes with a complimentary house drink (beer/wine/soft-drink) and snacks in the comfort of the theatre. If the tour is to be run indoors, you are welcome to re-book to another night to await favourable viewing conditions for an outdoor tour, at no extra cost.
For an unforgettable night combine stargazing with dinner at the Stratosfare restaurant for some delectable dining.

- There is free parking at the Gondola base
- Please come dressed for a light walk & for being outside. Warm clothing & comfortable walking shoes are advised. We provide complimentary use of Canada goose down jackets for the duration of the tour

There are six of us traveling and would,very much like to do is. We will be there the nights of Dec 4,5,6 and wondering if we need to book in advance or if we could book when we arrive? Thank for you help.
Yes you will definitely need to book well in advance for the star gazing in Queenstown as it does book up often several days/weeks in advance.
