Ronnie Wood, Mick Jagger, Steve Jordan, Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are hitting the road again. In celebration of their sixth decade of rocking, the band announced dates for their summer 2022 European “Sixty” tour, which is slated to kick off at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain on June 1 and keep them on the road through late July, with gigs in Munich, Liverpool, Amsterdam, London, Vienna and Paris, with the swing currently slated to wrap up with a July 31 show at Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

The run of shows in 10 countries in celebration of the band’s 60th anniversary will include the Stones’ first-ever stadium gig at the home of Liverpool FC, Anfield — their first time playing in the city in more than 50 years. The swing will also see them performing for two night at London’s Hyde Park as part of the massive American Express presents BST Hyde Park festival.

And it wouldn’t be a Stones tour if Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood didn’t unveil a new “Sixty Tongue” logo to go along with the outing, created by award-winning British designer Mark Norton. According to a release, the Concerts West-produced show promises “a massive stage, cutting edge lighting and state of the art video design.” Click here for ticket information.

These will be their first shows in their native UK since the death of beloved drummer Charlie Watts last summer, with replacement Steve Jordan on hand in his stead. The Euro swing comes on the heels of the Stones’ highest-grossing US “No Filter” stadium tour, which featured sales of more than half a million tickets in the fall of 2021.

Earlier this year, the Royal Mail teamed up with the group to roll out a series of 12 commemorative stamps , 8 of which captured them on various concert stages around the world, from Tokyo to New York City and London.

The first date takes place at Copenhagen’s Copenhell festival on June 15, 2022, and runs through to NOS Alive in Lisbon on July 8.

In a statement, the band say: “We have waited far too long to say these words – we’re getting back out there and are finally announcing our return to Europe in 2022! Needless to say, we cannot wait to see all of you once again as our European ’Tallica Family will finally have a chance to reunite in June and July of next year.

Rolling Stones 2022 tour

The Rolling Stones have announced dates for their 60th anniversary tour, their second jaunt since the death of founding drummer Charlie Watts last August. The European summer tour will take in fourteen shows in ten countries across the contintent and will present the premiere of “a brand new ‘Sixty’ production,” starting in Madrid on June 1.

The announcement notes that the group will be playing its first concert in Liverpool in more than 50 years, followed by two shows in London’s Hyde Park. The tour follows the group’s successful U.S. stadium tour last fall, which was rescheduled from 2020 and according to the announcement sold more than 500,000 tickets.

While the announcement makes no reference to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the tour keep mostly to western European countries, with Vienna being the city closest to the conflict (and several hundred miles away). The Stones have toured extensively in eastern Europe over the years and in fact were the first Western rock band to perform behind what was then the “Iron Curtain,” in Warsaw in 1967.

The announcement states: The Stones, once again joined by Steve Jordan on drums, will be treating fans to a set list like no other, packed full of classics such as ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, ‘Tumbling Dice’, ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, ‘Start Me Up’ and many more. However, it wouldn’t be a Rolling Stones gig without some surprises each night and a selection of unexpected tracks from their formidable arsenal of songs will also be popping up in the set list. As always with the Stones, there will be a spectacular new RS ‘SIXTY’ production, including a massive stage, cutting edge lighting and state of the art video design, all to be unveiled for this long-awaited European tour.

In Flames announce November & December 2022 European Headlining Tour

In Flames European Tour 2022 poster

Today, the band release a brand-new track titled “ The Great Deceiver ” – a crushing piece of high-class modern metal that reinforces In Flames’ unique mark deep in the foundations of the genre.

The band states: “‘The Great Deceiver’ was born out of frustration, basically a reaction to false flags but since then it has grown to represent several meanings. There’s a line that says ‘Bend the truth to fit your opinion’ and I feel that speaks a lot to the narrative happening online, between people, and nations etc. today. We are more a part now than ever before yet it’s easier to communicate than in any other time in history”.

Check out “The Great Deceiver”’ video below and stream the single here .

Alongside “The Great Deceiver”, In Flames announce their return to European stages with an extensive tour in late 2022 supported by At The Gates , Imminence and Orbit Culture .

In Flames are one of the biggest metal bands in the world – never shying away from pushing their artistic boundaries, crafting music that’s as catchy as it is crushing. Formed in 1990, the band is considered one of the forefathers of melodic death metal and the purveyors of the ‘Gothenburg sound’. With thirteen studio albums under their belt, countless successful tours around the globe playing with the likes of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest and Slayer – with millions of records sold and a massive fanbase worldwide, In Flames have proven to be an unstoppable force. From their 1994 debut “Lunar Strain” onwards, the band’s intricate twin guitar attack, melodic vocals and superb arrangements have given them a signature sound that has evolved throughout the years.

The stage was impressive as were the band. Sounding like they had just released their first album, Europe rocked through the entire concert. No support act and a show so awesome it needed an intermission, we rocked, sang and danced with Joe and the boys through all the old hits and the best of the new. The energy of the guys was astounding, each having their own moment to shine. The drum solo was a stand out. It was a well crafted set list, with the big anthems and softer ballads, blended to remind us that Europe has been part of the soundtrack of our lives. A concert that left us grinning and singing on the night and for days afterwards.

always a pleasure to see this guys in action! as a very old fan form the 80's, i loved the band from the beginning...so much fun and some tears too...very emocional and the set list was amazing too. tunes from every period of their career, from the oldest to new ones, of course focusing on the last álbum, War Of Kings. the sound of the venue was amazing, with a stage lights doing a very special show too.

The UK part of the tour, postponed during the pandemic, started in Birmingham on September 20, but the shows at London’s The O2 had to be postponed after an outbreak of Covid-19 in the crew. These shows will now take place at the end of the extensive European run, on March 24, 25, and 26.\

In a four-star review of the show at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, The Guardian ’s Alexis Petridis wrote: “The story the show effectively tells is worth commemorating: that of a band who seemed profoundly implausible candidates for global ubiquity, but achieved it nonetheless.” The Yorkshire Post observed of the Leeds Direct Arena concert during the UK tour: “If this is the last Genesis tour – which seems likely – they undoubtedly signed off their musical odyssey in style.”

Tickets for the European dates go on sale from 9am BST/10am CET this Friday (October 29).
