Wild jungle party ideas.
It’s always such a treat to get great pictures from a customer!
This jungle party birthday set up is full of fantastic ideas with fun decorations, wild animal snacks, and roaring favors. All for your DIY pleasure of course.
Keep reading! I will show you where to get most of everything you see!
Jungle Party Decorations
Melissa did such a wonderful job setting up this jungle party table for her son’s 3rd Birthday. The parts in “ quotes ” are notes from Melissa.
“My son is really into animals right now, so a safari theme party was a no brainer. I did some searching on the Web for animal themed decor and came across your printables. I thought they would make for wonderful decorations for my son’s party.”
“I wanted a nice background for pictures and the kids could stand in front of the table without blocking view of the tablescape. Or the parents could stand behind the table and also get a nice picture. Your printables allowed us to put our own spin on almost all the decor used for the tablescape.”
She created a focal point with a custom banner she made herself with the jungle party printable set and and array of safari and zoo pompom animals. The green plastic tablecloth and grass skirt created a simple and perfect start to her table.
Note the rustic upside down basket on which she set the cake. It’s little inexpensive details like this, using things you have around the house, that can transform a table from boring to exciting.
I just love how she framed the full sheet jungle party sign on a frame with chicken wire then added some fresh leaves for a wild look.
“Your printables also added that personal touch which I loved and really made it my son, Megatron’s party. His real name is Sheldon Megatron Btw.”
“The little animals that were all hiding among the snacks and party favors were a last second addition from my husband and I agreed.”
Little plastic zoo animals were perched on everything, creating a real wild party. The Safari animal tattoos doubled as fun decorations too.
“The kids loved the animal masks and where making the animal noises of the mask that they were wearing which was super cute. “
Jungle Party Snacks
I was really impressed at the array of creative snacks on the table!
“After I found the decorations I next searched for safari themed baked goods. I was able to combine your printables, the baked goods and little extras like the little plastic animals toys I found at the local crafts store to make a sweet tablescape. I thought it would give all the little ones something to look at and each time they would notice something new!”
These tiger tails made with pretzel sticks look so yummy! Did you notice the gazelle perched on top?
The animal prints cake pops were so well presented in their own basket with tissue paper grass. I see a giraffe hiding in there!
The Hershey minis wrapped in the jungle party printable wrapper did double duty as decorations and treats. Even the Hershey kisses got their own labels. Buying the black Kisses and calling them bear poop was genious.
“The little animal poop chocolate kisses I thought would be cute given that there were little animals all throughout the table”
Simple cupcakes got a wild jungle make-over with printable wrappers and custom toppers!
And some super cute jungle cookies are being garded by a serious rhino!
Jungle Party Favors
Those were some very lucky kids at Megatron’s birthday party! They sure came home with a loot! Not only did the kids get a big favor box full of little gifts, they also went home with safari tattoos and animal cracker treats in individual bags.
It’s easy to style a beautiful party table when you start with a set of quality party printables. Use the printables to set the color scheme and theme of the party. Once you’ve done that, finding decorative elements and snacks to match becomes a piece of cake. Safari / Jungle Themed First Birthday Party Part III – DIY Decoration Ideas + Free Printables Included!
August 12, 2014 by Roxy
Let’s move on to some of the DIY decoration ideas that are so easy and cheap to make and were such a big hit at the party! Because I love my readers, I will provide many printables in this post that you can download for FREE, including jungle animals cupcake toppers & toothpick stickers, ‘Happy Birthday’ pennant banner, ‘‘I AM 1’ high chair banner and others. This is Part III of the Safari / Jungle Themed First Birthday Party post series so if you haven’t read the others go check them out, or you’re missing out on some great dessert , appetizers, finger food & snack ideas!
- Part I – Dessert Ideas
- Part II – Appetizers, Finger Foods & Snack Ideas
- Part III – DIY Decoration Ideas + FREE Printables
- Part IV – Cheap Party Supplies & Decorations
Another cute idea is to make a PICTURE CLOTHESLINE to show 0-12 month photos of your little ones. You will need a string, tape and clothespins. I’m pretty sure you can find these around your house. You can get creative a bit and use chalkboard clothespins so you can write the months or custom message for each month. I bought these at Michael’s – 2 for $1.50 – and I plan on re-using them at future parties.
All the jungle labels, stickers, banners I used at the party are FREE to download and print. I either found them on some great websites or I just designed them myself. I found these cute LEAVES LABELS on Pinterest and printed them out for FREE. You can find other designs as well with lions, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles and hippos on the same website.
For the HIPPO TOOTHPICK STICKERS I found a hippo image online and designed the round stickers using pixlr.com . You can download the JUNGLE ANIMALS TOOTHPICK STICKERS for FREE and in case you have other hungry animals around, I’ve included some images of giraffes, lions, monkeys and elephants as well. Plus a few Happy Birthday stickers because in the end we’re celebrating a birthday here! Just print them on heavy cardstock paper, cut them out and tape them to toothpicks. Some of the animal photos are from profilepicturemaker.com, just check out their stickers library . They have a cute African Safari Photo Frame as well and other frames, labels etc. that you can customize and download for free.
As I’ve mentioned in my first post, if you don’t want to spend the extra time to make your own fondant toppers no worries, I’ve got you covered! You can download my FREE printable for JUNGLE ANIMALS CUPCAKE TOPPERS . Just print them on heavy cardstock paper, cut them out, tape them to ice cream sticks or toothpicks and pop them on cupcakes! Cute and simple decorations!
You can also print the free “BEWARE OF WILD ANIMALS” banner below from Moms and Munchkins.
This is unrelated but I had to share a few pictures! Daniel got as a birthday gift from his godparents a custom-made book “Daniel Goes to the Zoo” . They had no idea what the party theme was so it was quite funny to see this gift. You can easily adapt most of the ideas from this post for a Zoo Birthday Party as well 🙂 !
If you’ve found this post useful I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

I am curious about heavyweight card stock, where did you buy the paper, and Can I use the paper with canon printer? Thank you so much! Hope to hear from you shortly.
June 8, 2015 at 12:07 AM
You should be able to find it at Walmart… not sure what canon printer you have but most of them work just fine with this type of paper. It doesn’t have to be super thick by the way, just slightly thicker than regular paper so that the toppers can hold their shape better.

Thank you for these wonderful party resources! How Can I make a name pendant to go with the Happy Birthday banner?
January 16, 2015 at 9:03 PM
If you want, I can email you an image with the pendant without the letters and you can write the name you need. I used http://www.fotor.com/ to edit the photo and wrote the letters using the Lucida Calligraphy font.
April 17, 2015 at 9:17 PM
Hi, I was trying to add a name to the pendant. However, since it is a pdf file, I couldn’t get it to upload on http://www.fotor.com , since I guess it is not really a ‘photo’. Do you have any advise? Thanks!

This fun and lively banner will bring a touch of adventure to any birthday party. Whether you celebrate a child’s special day or a wildlife enthusiast’s milestone, this DIY decoration will impress if you follow the instructions below.
To begin, gather all the necessary materials. You will need a color printer, white card stock or heavy cardstock paper, scissors, a hole puncher, string or ribbon, and the free printable banner template. You can easily find the download link of the digital file below.
After printing the template on hard cardstock paper, carefully cut out each banner letter. Take your time to ensure neat and clean edges. Once all the letters are cut out, use a hole puncher to create small holes on the top corners of each letter. These holes will be used to string the letters together later on.

Safari Baby Shower Ideas: Planning a Safari-Themed Celebration
Planning a baby shower can be almost as exciting as the execution! There are many ideas, and when following a Safari Baby Shower theme, the number of animals and colors that can be included is nearly endless. From decorations to gifts, food, and activities, there are so many Safari Baby Shower ideas to choose from.
With many options available there are sure to be many opportunities to choose from alternatives for decorations, foods, and activities that will fit an elegant party, a kid or family-friendly party, or a lighthearted gathering. The expecting mother is sure to appreciate all of the efforts and will remember her Safari baby shower with fondness as they watch the child grow.
Safari Baby Shower Ideas – Decorations
Safari Baby Shower decorations really begin with what invitations you choose, as these will set the tone for the guests right from the start. For a safari themed Baby Shower choose invitations that are in green, tan, and natural colours. Safari invitations can be matched to balloons, banners, and much more.
Banners are a great way to share joy and greet people as they enter. Choose one that has baby animals on it, real or cartoon, and announce “congratulations”, or “welcome” or even that has the baby’s name and the month that they are due. Banners can be all one piece or they can be created with a string of flags, letters, or balloons.
Place settings add to the theme and help to create a cohesive appearance. Plates, napkins, and cups can all be themed. For a safari Baby Shower theme choose items that have images of animals on them, ideally baby animals for the baby shower. For added interest, cups can be located that are shaped like animals, for example, elephant cups with their trunk as the handle. These will please even the most serious party guests.
For easy and fun decorations, and even to use as a gift suggestion, use stuffed animals that are animals you would find on a safari, giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, etc. They can be placed around the room and used as a game later, or they can be all piled in one space like a hammock or scene. Ask guests to bring a copy of their childhood favorites to add to the special occasion.
Small plastic toy animals are ideal for this theme and can be placed around the table or hidden as surprises around the entire space. They are also perfect for putting on top of cake or cupcakes.
Use a tablecloth that is in the colors that match, a dark green or light green, tan, brown, or in animal print for added fun. The tablecloth will not only protect the surface of your table but add to the overall appeal of the space.
A safari theme backdrop can be used to make a great photography space. These can be as large or small as you want and can be hung on a wall inside or outside. Set up some props including animal masks, balloons, stuffed animals, and a camera to allow your guests to pose in front of it for both decoration and a fun activity to memorialize the event.
Click here to read about How to make a Baby Shower backdrop .
Safari gear, such as helmets, all-terrain vehicles, boots, and clothing can all be used to place around the room or even dress a scarecrow for added interest.
Balloons in the themed colors can be grouped near areas of interest such as the gift table, the snack table, and a guestbook to help guide visitors to all the areas that they should be sure to visit and can even mark the way to the bathroom for those guests who are not familiar with the home.

Leaves, palm trees, and sand are all associated with safari and can be added to the theme. Stand some fake palm trees around the space, and add some other large-leafed trees, real or artificial, to create a full safari immersion feeling. Bringing in elements of the environment can help people to settle into the theme and enjoy it even more.
A safari themed balloon arch is a great way to create a focus in the room and when made with dark green light green, browns, and other neutral and calm tones will fit the theme and feel of your Safari baby shower. Place it around the space for gift opening or where the guest of honor will sit, or use it to frame a space for photographs, surround a framed picture of the sonogram, or bring attention to any other part of the experience.

More Safari Baby Shower Ideas
Print and hang pictures of animals on safari. These can be blown up for larger spaces, or printed smaller to put on place cards, or labelled food. Choose images that are cute, funny, silly, or include baby animals to match the theme the best.
Balloon animals are ideal for decorating a safari baby shower. These can be placed strategically around the room or along with other balloon arrangements to add visual interest, and people are certain to remember the baby shower with the balloon animals.
Goodie bags, or baby shower favors , are another way to tie the theme together and show your guests that you appreciate their attendance. Animal keychains, safari animal stickers to seal bags of candy or animal cracker treats, books about someone who went on safari, and the bags or boxes themselves being animal prints or having an image of animals on them are all a great fit for this theme.
Use wooden blocks with animals painted on them to create staggered presentations for snacks, drinks, and other decorations.
Add animal prints around the space. A zebra print throw blanket, cheetah print throw pillows, fake fur rugs, and even curtains and tablecloths can all be sourced in assorted animal prints.
Add streamers to the doorways, link balloons, and drape the tables to add additional color and detail.
Confetti can be spread around the table to add fun to the decorations and add a pop of color to any space.
Safari Baby Shower Food Ideas
Desserts are always a focus when food is involved, and sand can be a great starting point. Use ground graham crackers to create a sand base and add gummy animals to the “sand” all over a pudding for a great snack that everyone is sure to enjoy regardless of age.
Make your drinks exotic by using flavors related to a safari experience. Sparkling water is easy to flavor and safe for all ages, even the guest of honor, and can be created in pineapple, coconut pineapple, grapefruit, and many other varieties. Serve in champagne glasses for an elegant feel or place out small bottles of flavored water.
Serve cupcakes with green icing to mimic the plains and add a small plastic safari animal on top. Alternatively, an image of an animal placed as a flag on the top is easily added to either homemade or store-bought cupcakes.

Have a Safari themed cake made that has a dessert or oasis theme and use it as a centerpiece for the dessert or food table. This will delight the guests and create a lasting memory of the event.
Donuts can be lined up, standing against each other, and topped with green paper or toppers to look like pineapples. A matching taste profile adds to the appeal.
Fruit salads can add a light and flavorful option for a snack table.
Choose cupcake toppers, either from fondant, modeling chocolate, or printed images to place on top of plain cupcakes for easy dessert.
A punch with fruit floating on top can be used to create a watering hole, allowing people to stop by and pour a drink.
Cake pops covered with animal prints are sure to delight.
A veggie tray can mimic the food choices of the herbivores on safari and can be arranged to look like animals with a carrot mane, raisins for eyes, or bread as an elephant’s trunk. There are many creative ways to organize vegetables and other foods to look like animals.
Kebabs are a fun and easy way to enjoy snacks during a baby shower or other gathering. Chicken or other meats can be used along with vegetables or other savory items, while fruit kebabs with pineapple, grapes, berries, and more can add a pop of color to the table and let people snack as they socialize.
Animal Crackers can be placed in ground graham cracker base to appear as though they are walking across the sand, or in pudding for a mixture of textures.
What to bring to a Safari Baby Shower?
- Request stuffed animals as a gift, and you can create your own safari experience for the baby as it grows.
- Clothes that are safari themed or have animals on them can fit the theme well.
- Decoration or images, pictures, framed posters, and other decorative items are wonderful gifts for building a nursery.
- Gifts for guests can also be safari themed including small bags of candies with safari anima stickers holding them closed.
- Plastic or even robotic animals are great gifts for a safari-themed baby shower and can help the baby to learn about animals as they grow.
- Books on animals, safaris, and baby animals are all great gifts for any shower.
Safari Themed Baby Shower Games
- Create an animal safari by setting up stuffed animals around the room and putting up cards with basic information on each animal.
- Build a photo booth with a cut-out where the face would be, allowing guests to take pictures of themselves as those animals.
- Create a scavenger hunt with stuffed or plastic animals around the room and have guests find them all and check them off.
- Play a trivia game based on basic facts about the animals you see on safari.
- Fill a jar with small plastic elephants or giraffes and have people guess how many are in the jar.
- Create a bingo card using safari animals and plants.
- Rent animal costumes and have a race to see who can get dressed as an animal the fastest.
- Face painters can paint all the guest faces as different animals to bring some whimsy and light fun to the event.
- Pin the tail on the tiger.
- Fill a tub with sand and place toys within, then blindfold participants and have them search through the sand to find the animal toys. The first to find a certain number can win.
- Enjoy a wordplay game taking characteristics of safari animals and applying them to children. For example how they walk when they are first learning, how joeys ride with their mother, lions roar when they want something, and see who can come up with the best comparisons or puns.
- Play animal sounds and see who can name the animal the fastest.
Safari Themed Baby Shower Final Note
When planning a baby shower there are many things to consider. Once the theme is determined it can be easier to piece together the event and choose food, activities, and decorations that will match. A safari is full of new foliage, expansive views, and animals that some may never see in zoos. By incorporating each of these aspects into the planning a fun and whimsical experience that will bring joy to all those in attendance.
Many of the decorations and games are easy to find and the food can be made in ways that are budget-friendly and easy to execute. A safari-themed baby shower is sure to impress all of the guests and can even help them to choose what gifts to choose or how to wrap them. Be sure to take plenty of photos, or have everyone send the pictures they take to one online photo album to share the memories and keep them for years to come.

Safari Nursery Decor – 32 Ideas Perfect for your Wild Child!
When I was just a baby, I don't think my nursery had a theme, let alone a safari nursery decor! Maybe it wasn't as popular back then, but I'm pretty sure my nursery was the same as my two brothers before me. Probably had some hockey sticks and football posters around.
Nowadays, there are so many fun ideas out there for decorating a nursery, and with the help of the internet, we can continue to be inspired by theme after theme. So now it's your turn to decide on a theme for your own little one's nursery. There are a lot of directions you can go.
A deer themed nursery , an “under the sea” design, or what about a jungle safari? Oh! You liked that last idea did you? In that case, you are going to want to check out these 32 safari nursery decor ideas that are perfect for your soon-to-be wild child.
1. Born to be Wild
Your adventurous little one will be born to be wild and free in their very own safari themed nursery. A green and white color scheme, with fun wall paint, animal stuffies, and fun paper foliage.
2. Neutral wallpaper
Create an accent wall in your baby nursery with a neutral safari themed wallpaper. Delicate palm leaf patterns decorate the wall like the thick foliage of the jungle trees. Then, add in some jungle animal prints, and why not some real plants for a breath of fresh air.
3. Decorate with Jungle Leaves
Find places to add extra green around the safari nursery to really turn it into a lush jungle. Hang vines and leaves amongst the nursery furniture, framing shelves, and wrapped around mirrors. Thus, taking your safari nursery decor to a whole new level.
4. Safari Mural
Just like when you take a safari ride in Africa, you will stumble upon a wide array of animals in enormous sizes and impressive colors. A wall mural is a great way to easily recreate that epic scene.
5. Elephant Rug
You don't necessarily have to use an elephant, any jungle animal will do when picking out a fun little rug for your nursery. Although I must say, the elephant is pretty dang cute!
6. Giraffes
Decorate your beautiful baby's nursery with giraffe decorations. Prints, stuffed animals, and small decor pieces can be added around the room to really bring some safari life to the room.
7. Safari Animal Prints
It's amazing how far some simple prints can go. You can completely transform a room and really put together a theme by adding in some prints that match said theme. An easy and effective decorating technique.
Combine two different techniques, by painting the walls with leaves and then adding in homemade 3D ones. Besides, making those leaves is a super fun craft project that you can do on the weekend with your friends.
9. Monkey Curtains
Get some help from your safari friends around the new nursery. A sweet monkey can help you do the job of pulling back the curtains so you can let the light in on your newborn's face.
10. Elephant Hamper
Another safari friend that can help out is the reliable elephant. He's great at helping you keep the nursery organized and clean. A fun woven hamper that you can use to throw anything dirty into.
11. Brown and White
I adore this neutral color scheme that is perfect for any gender baby. The deep browns and white work great together and give a bright and earthy feel. Also, the decorating is done perfectly! An elephant mounted on the wall surrounded by images of maps and animals.
12. Palm Leaf Bedding
You can find all sorts of ways in your decorating to add that safari feel. The bedding is an easy way to add some color and design into the nursery. Try to look for crib bedding with safari animals, African landscapes, or jungle leaves.
13. Bookends
Playful decor pieces like elephant and giraffe bookends make designing and furnishing your nursery a sitch. Keep your eyes peeled for items like this when shopping online or at local stores around town.
14. Banana Leaf Playmats
Like rolling around on the jungle floor (without all the dirt) a lushly decorated playmat is a wonderful accessory to look for. The fun green banana leaves are stylish and fit perfectly with the theme.
15. Green and Yellow
I think green and yellow make for a charming color scheme when picking out tones for your safari themed nursery. Yellow like the spots on a towering giraffe and green like the lush foliage of a jungle scene.
16. Animal Heads
What a fun idea! Unique styles of animal heads up on the wall watching over your little baby in their precious slumber. I really like how it looks on that banana leaf background which really makes the heads stand out.
17. Zebras and Antelopes
Happy dancing zebras prance in lines along the walls while antelope heads pop out to say hello. I adore how this room came together for a lovely mix of cute and trendy.
18. Safari Mobile
As your baby opens their eyes each morning they will be greeted with happy safari animals pirouetting above them. Definitely lookout for a cute mobile that matches the theme as the perfect safari nursery accessory.
19. Growth Chart
Yes, yes, and double yes! A super awesome idea for keeping track of the growth of your little one. Watch them grow taller and taller matching the height of the safari animals that have kept them company all this time.
20. Safari Animal Hardware
I remember having little animal friends that I would play with in the bathtub and I absolutely adored them! So, I'm definitely on board with this creative idea of adding animal toys to the furniture as hardware. A simple yet effective idea.
21. A Sophisticated Look
This safari themed nursery doesn't have that little kid feel as so many others do. This feels like a room that is adult-friendly as well. Besides, you as the adults will be spending just as much time in there as the children!
22. Figurines
Really have fun when picking out safari animal figurines. The look is definitely trending right now so it should be easy to find a variety of different styles and looks that you can use. In my opinion, the more safari nursery decor, the merrier!
23. Elephant Light
Look for a nightlight that will help you in the middle of the night when the crying starts, but that also fits the theme. Safari nursery decor should not only be stylish, but functional too.
24. Happy Lions
I am obsessed with this happy lion rug! I actually want one for my own room, let alone for any future safari nursery. The soft yellows and oranges make for a cheery, bright, and chic nursery.
25. Palm Leaves
As if your baby was dreaming away in a lush bush of jungle foliage. They are sure to have imaginative and happy dreams, and you as well are going to have happy nights watching them sleep.
26. Giraffe Hanger
Safari nursery decor pieces that are made out of natural material, such as woven bamboo or straw, is truly an extra. When you picture a safari, you probably imagine those open grasslands and dense jungles, all sprawling with flora and fauna. So, bring those natural elements to your decorating.
27. Elephant Rocker
I definitely remember falling asleep quite a few times on my horse rocker when I was a wee little one. Rockers are a great element to have in a nursery, and an elephant one really works with the safari vibes.
28. Safari Animal Clock
Maybe your baby will start telling time at an early age with such a fun little clock in their nursery. Or, you know, maybe they will just gaze and wonder about the interesting animals displayed.
29. Wall Vinyls
Painting a mural on the wall is fun and all, but an easier option is to buy some wall vinyl displaying fun safari scenes. The elephant and lion go happily marching amongst the foliage with a monkey friend keeping them (and your baby) in good company.
30. Stuffie Hammock
This is perfect! Instead of using your traditional ol' toy box to throw all the plush friends into, a corner hammock is a much more fitting idea. That way, these toys are still on display as fun safari nursery decor when not being played with.
31. Giraffe Bookshelf
People continue to impress me with their clever ideas. A giraffe makes a perfect bookshelf with their long necks! A great addition to the nursery so you can start to collect good night stories to read them into a deep slumber.
32. Sleep Safari Wallpaper
Sleepy safari animals are resting their tired eyes on this adorable wallpaper. I love the hints of yellow throughout the images making it a perfect accent color when planning the color scheme.

In The Wild VBS (Jungle/Safari Themed) Decoration Ideas
Whew. Mama needs a nap. Believe it or not, our church just wrapped up In The Wild Vacation Bible School for 2019. Every year our church holds VBS the very first week of summer vacation. It makes our week-long VBS a marathon as we wrap up the school year and dive right into a week of activities but it’s worth it. I wanted to take time today to share with you guys some of the cute decorations that different leaders decorated their In the Wild VBS rooms with. Maybe you haven’t done your church’s VBS yet or maybe a friend of yours is getting ready for the same theme and might like some of these ideas. If nothing else, you could always use them when hosting a jungle or safari themed party.
If you’re looking for In The Wild Craft Ideas, you can find them here.
First, let’s start with my room. I work with 3rd graders during VBS, which I love. At one point during the week we played a quick game where we had to shout out why Jesus loved us. Trust me when I said that their answers were so awe-inspiring that I almost asked a few of them to trade places and let me be the student and they could be the teacher.
In the past, I’ve gone overboard decorating my room. There was the year that I put part of it in blacklights with an underwater theme or the year that we made a galaxy in the hall leading to our room. But because of life and different things going on, this year it needed to be simpler and I’m thankful that it was.
We actually have two rooms and a hall to decorate. As you entered our room on one side we did a waterfall using bulletin board paper and streamers. We also added some flower die-cuts to bring in some color and also to give our kids something to do while we were on a ladder.
At the bottom we wrapped Styrofoam pieces in green paper and stuck in some pink flamingos.
Here’s a tip – you can get these pink flamingos right now in-store or order them online from The Dollar Tree.
Our plan originally was to cut a TV box in half and make a ledge for the flamingos to perch on. However, I was cutting this box by myself with a very sharp box cutter and rearranged a toe instead. So… we went to an easier plan B. My toe is fine but I did have a discussion with the pastor that gave me the box cutter about giving someone named CLUMSY Crafter a very sharp box cutter. If you follow me on Instagram , you might have seen that drama play out in my stories.
In one corner we did a large tree using bulletin board paper for the trunk and the leaves are actually grass hula skirts from The Dollar Tree. The vines are plastic table cloths from The Dollar Tree.
We cut out large leaves from paper and hung those all over the room.
The butterflies I made using black posterboard. Then I cut out orange paper details and glued it on. Finally I used white paint to make details on the body and wings.
Our second room we decorated using bulletin board paper that we painted. The brown paper is supposed to be leopard spots but we had fun asking people entering the room what they thought it was…. We can’t always be winners.
Finally we decorated the hall with animal snapshots we painted on white posterboard along with vines hanging from the ceiling and a big tree that kids walked through to enter the room. Somehow I missed a picture of that .
That was my room but let me show you some other rooms and areas of the church:
Those are just a few quick shots I grabbed on my phone as I hobbled out of the church on the final day of decorating, with my foot in layers of a bandage and a giant hole in my shoe where I had cut straight through it.
We had a great week at VBS. The kids loved the games and crafts that we did. In fact, we made the bird lanterns from the In The Wild Craft Ideas post.
Aren’t the cute? The kids had so much fun with them and there were feathers everywhere.
That’s a wrap for VBS this year. Two more mission trips and one kid’s camp to go and then I get to take a nap…

Safari-themed wall murals.
When decorating a safari-themed nursery, murals can add a sense of adventure and wonder. From lush jungle scenes to playful animal prints, there are a variety of safari-themed mural options to choose from. A safari mural can be a great way to create a focal point in the room and set the tone for the rest of the decor. Whether you choose a colorful mural or a more subtle and naturalistic one, a safari mural can inspire your little one's imagination and sense of adventure. And the best part? A mural can be a relatively easy and affordable idea to transform a nursery into a wild and wonderful oasis.
Safari Nursery Wallpaper
Decorating a playful and beautiful safari-inspired nursery can be made easy with safari wallpaper designs. You can opt for all-over safari wallpaper or use it as an accent wall to create a unique and dynamic space. The key is to select a wallpaper design that complements the baby's room.
Animal Prints
Animal prints bring playfulness and whimsy to a safari-themed nursery. From leopard spots to zebra stripes, there are a variety of animal prints to choose from, each with its unique character and charm. Animal print accents can be incorporated into nursery decor in countless ways, from bedding and curtains to pillows and wall art. Go bold with a statement animal print wallpaper, or keep it subtle with a few animal print accents scattered throughout the room.
Jungle-Inspired Wall Hangings
Jungle-inspired wall hangings can be a great way to bring the lush greenery and exotic beauty of the jungle into a safari-themed nursery. Jungle-inspired wall hangings such as woven tapestries add texture, color, and visual interest to the nursery decor while creating a sense of depth and dimensionality.
Bold and Colorful Accent Walls
An accent wall is an easy and affordable way to add personality to a safari nursery. Painting in bold, adventurous colors such as greens, oranges, and browns can inject energy and style into a safari-themed nursery. Take a more classic route with a simple solid color, painting a bold accent wall to create a focal point in the room and set the stage for the rest of the decor.
Natural Wood and Earthy Tones
Incorporating natural wood and earthy tones can be a great way to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in a safari-themed nursery. From wooden cribs and dressers to woven baskets and rugs made from natural fibers, there are many ways to incorporate these elements into the decor. Natural wood furniture can add warmth and texture to the space, while earthy tones like greens, browns, and beiges can create a sense of calm and tranquility.
Tribal-Inspired Decorative Elements
Incorporating tribal-inspired decorative elements can add a sense of cultural richness and depth to a safari-themed nursery. From woven baskets and textiles to carved wooden figurines and masks, tribal-inspired decor items can work well in a nursery design.
Safari-Inspired Lighting and Lamps
Adding safari-inspired lighting and lamps can add a sense of adventure and whimsy to a safari-themed nursery. You can also incorporate lighting that mimics the warm glow of a sunset or the soft light of a campfire to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Adding dimmer switches can also be a great way to adjust the lighting to fit your little one's needs, whether for quiet-time or playtime.
Safari-Themed Storage
Safari-themed storage solutions come in many shapes and sizes and can help elevate your nursery. From wall-mounted shelves to cute animal-shaped cubbies and animal-inspired storage bins, they provide practical storage solutions to help keep everything organized and tidy.
Safari-Inspired accessories and accents
Safari-inspired nursery accessories and accent pieces can give a playful and adventurous vibe. Add a touch of whimsy by incorporating animal-shaped pillows, plush toys, or safari-themed mobiles above the crib. Using natural materials like bamboo or rattan can add a sense of authenticity to the decor while also feeling playful. Adding a vintage safari trunk or suitcase as a decorative piece can also be a great way to add a sense of history and adventure to the room. Whether it's a roaring lion, a gentle giraffe, or a majestic elephant, safari-inspired elements can add a touch of magic to your baby's nursery, making it a space that both you and your little one will cherish.

Animals take center stage when you’re designing a safari-themed nursery. Set baby up to take a sunny adventure through the jungle with some lovable furry friends every day.
When looking for safari nursery décor, you can get really cute and playful here with silly accents (like a swinging monkey clock) and bright colors (oranges, greens, and yellows). But blacks, whites, and grays also add nice touches to a neutral room, too.
Don’t be shy about taking the jungle look as far as you want to. Simply add a few accents, like a rug or wall art, or go all the way with lively wall decals, window treatments, and attention-grabbing stuffed animals . Here’s what will take your safari nursery over the top.
Why trust us?
He’s cute and he’s here to hang! This monkey clock is the perfect addition to dress up a wall of the nursery. Shaped like a monkey swinging on a tree branch, he looks as if he’s ready for some serious playtime. The clock is lightweight and easy to hang up, plus requires just one battery to operate.
- Weight: 1.76 pounds
- Dimensions: 16 x 11.5 x 1.76 inches
Let's Make Baby Crib Mobile
The minimalist wind chime-style mobile will add a lot of charm to baby’s room. Secure the wooden top to a mobile hanger or ceiling and watch the handmade stars, pom poms, and cutest knitted elephant you ever did see dance around above the crib. Neutral gray and white go with any color scheme. Parents love the little bells in the mobile that give off a gentle, pleasing jingle sound that little ones love.
- Weight: 6.7 ounces
- Dimensions: 6.18 x 6.18 x 1.93 inches
The changing pad cover says it all — your baby is your heart. The gray cover features a white elephant blowing little floating hearts all the way up to the top. A 100 percent polyester material is surprisingly soft, and you can toss it in the wash for easy cleanup. Parents love how the plush fabric seems to soothe baby during diaper changes.
