Savannah Dinner River Cruise

While in Savannah, we took one evening to spend on the Savannah Riverboat Dinner Cruise. I pre-booked this without knowing for sure what it might be like but I am very glad that I took that chance. It was a wonderful way to relax, see additional sights with a different view - from the boat - while enjoying a great buffet meal and drinks. By pre-booking, I was able to save some money as well as pre-select my seating. That gave me and my partner a great view facing the main dinning room window during the cruise. Our server, Helena, was really great, helpful and super friendly, as I am sure the rest of the servers were. Not only did we get the chance to relax with the cruise on the Savannah River, we enjoyed a couple nice drinks and certainly had enough to eat. The choices of the buffet was great and tasty. Everyone aboard had a great time dancing, eating and relaxing. Give it a try when you visit Savannah.

Ehh - not so crazy about this one. The crew was pleasant enough but the ride is short and doesn't cover very much. You can almost walk the banks of the river and read the plaques for the same narrative tour. Drinks are pricey on board as well, but there is a bar on the upper deck that was open.

This was a nice little tour and a relaxing way to spend an hour. The captain gave information about the city including the port. My husband really like seeing the action at the port but had hoped to get a little closer. There are benches along the top or you can go inside the air conditioned area. They also have a snack bar. We sat outside and had great views. They take a picture of your when you board and come around during the tour and show them to you. They are $25 for 3 pictures and a frame, but they don't pressure you to purchase. They actually turned out better than I expected. We didn't purchase them though. We saved $5 on the tour with the 3-day VIP Dining Pass.

We were very disappointed with this over-priced dinner cruise. It cost us over $350.00 for a party of 6 (3 adults, 2 14 yr olds and a 12 yr old). We expected excellent food and service.....this was not the case. We were on the main deck and we couldn't even hear each other at the table, much less any announcements that were made. Everyone crowded around the buffet table in such a way that you couldn't even get back to your table. The dessert table was devoured before we even reached it and was not replenished. We ordered coffee and finally ended up leaving the table before it arrived (over 30 minutes). The lines and the crowds made it impossible to return to the buffet at all. Would not recommend this at all. It was a huge disappointment. I have attempted to contact the company. The receptionist was sweet, but I have not had my call returned by anyone in management.

We booked the Gospel cruise. The food was good. The singing was amazing. Very friendly staff. I would recommend this tour.

We had an absolutely amazing time aboard!! The staff was fast and friendly. The food was yummy and plentiful! The atmosphere was amazing as well!! We took the night tour and the view of Savannah after dark, from the river was stunning!! Everything about this tour was awesome!! From the dinner to the entertainment to the scenery, this tour was worth every penny!!

What are the vegetarian options on the lunch cruise?

Is the moonlight cruise a decent experience? I've been on a similar "moonlight cruise" in Pittsburgh but instead of romantic and enjoyable it was loud, overloaded with drunks, and sweaty.

I don't think they have a "moonlight cruise" but they do have a sunset cruise that is very nice

I definitely enjoyed the river sunset cruise my waiter was awesome and made my experience even better but I would have gotten dinner elsewhere before hand (the only part I liked of dinner was the shrimp and grits). It was worth doing and a great experience overall.

Ok!! So I know that I scored the riverboat cruises ver low but please let me explain. When first purchasing tickets for the riverboat i was told that a dinner would be provided or if I didn't like the dinner they would also have food that you could order from the back like nachos or hamburger. So it sounded like a good time and I was there for a good time so I gave them my 50 dollars for the cruise. Upon entering the ship we had our picture taken which was $48 for the whole package. No other options. Anyway took the pic got our tickets scanned and were told we would be on floors 3-4. So we questioned staff about dinner and was then told that those tickets usually sell out fast and that they are 100 dollars. We went to our floor and it was very crowded. Our cruise started at 7pm we loaded at 6 pm. All the seats were taken for a window view. We were also told at purchase that the captain was going to be the narrator and that there would be some sort of entertainment. Well neither happened. So we were pretty bored until we started playing apple music. I didn't order the food because staff were walking around with food orders uncovered for about 30 min looking for the customers that ordered. This cruise was for 2 hours and I was bored!!! If you have to be on third floor I will advise against it. But floors 1 and 2 maybe completely different.

Multiple months out from my trip to Savannah I tried to cancel my tickets due to an unforseen break up with my partner. Even explaining that to these people, they heartlessly refused to cancel my tickets and said I would actually have to pay them more money to pick another date. It is really unbelievable that they are incapable of an ounce of sympathy, even months out from the reservation.

Awful experience. Over $300 for dinner. Didn't get acknowledged by waitress for 20 minutes. Took 45 minutes to get our wine, after we ate. No water, no butter. Lousy. In Savannah for 3 weeks. By far the worst thing we have done. Don't waste your time/ money.

We we on an Easter brunch cruise and it was awesome in every way! Tasty, fresh food, good service. This brunch was very well done, whoever planned this event nailed it! Easter bunny was present for pictures and to dance with the little ones! I want to make this an annual event for my family! Well done!!!!

We then walked to the River area to board the Savannah River paddleboat. We picked up our tickets at the riverboat office on River Street across from the boat ramp and we picked up patches. We boarded at noon and went right into the main dining room which was beautiful. Everyone enjoyed their buffet lunch as they had a great combination of regional foods and foods that everyone loved. The boat ride was pleasant, interesting, and informative. The acoustics weren't great. Everyone enjoyed it. Disembarking took much longer than we anticipated, which forced us to delay our next activity. Riverboat tour rating: A cumulative rating from the girls/ adults: 9 out of 10. Lunch rating: A cumulative rating from the girls/ adults: 9 out of 10.

I was a fan of the Savannah Riverboat cruise. It was interesting to learn about Savannah's shipping history and other interesting historical tidbits. It was nice to sit on the top deck.

We enjoyed a break from walking to sit on the sun and meander down the river. We learned a little history, enjoyed a few drinks and got a bit of sun.

The food was fantastic, along with the large array of choices, from Friend chicken, peach glazed pork tenderloin, shrimp and grits, seafood casserole, macaroni and cheese, mash potatoes, fresh fruit,and a lot more. The wait staff were not very friendly and actually argued withe about my lemonade being waterier. A small storm cam through and the 4th floor benches were wet, when asked if they had a rag we could dry a few off with, we were told to use napkins. So instead of giving us something that could be washed we had to waste napkins. Narrator was funny and got people involved. Loved seeing dolphins also. I'd do it again, just not expect as much from the staff.

Take it from a chubby guy who loves fried foods, the fried chicken on this riverboat is second to none, I am writing this after already consuming 5 pieces and may be on the verge of a stroke but I'm definitely going to eat at least 2 to 3 more pieces even if it kills me, its THAT good.

Our two-hour dinner cruise is a wonderful way to unwind. Sit back and relax on board in one of our beautifully appointed ballrooms while our Riverboat slowly glides down the Savannah River. Enjoy a specially prepared buffet style dinner made with the freshest, local ingredients that has something to satisfy everyone’s palate!

The Georgia Queen can hold up to 1,000 passengers and the Savannah River Queen, can hold up to 600 passengers.  You can expect to cruise with at least a couple of hundred other people.  Swap your voucher for a boarding pass in the ticket office prior to boarding.  Boarding begins 60 minutes prior to cruise.

Decorated in traditional riverboat red, white, and blue, floating palaces continue to transport visitors back to a time when elegance and relaxation were expected from river travel. There are a variety of hour and a half cruises including the ever-popular Sightseeing Cruise, the Dinner Entertainment Cruise, special Luncheon trips, Sunday Brunch, the beautiful Sunset Cruise and the Moonlight Party Cruise depending on your taste. There is a tour experience for everyone. The dinner cruises are unguided; the sightseeing, lunch and brunch cruises has a live guide.

Both riverboats offer a glass-enclosed climate-controlled dining and observation deck with panoramic views, open-air patio, and has numerous bench seats that line the upper decks for incredible city views and plenty of sunshine.. Anytime is a good time for a cruise down the river.

• Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
• Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

• Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
• Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over 7 different coloring options.
• Animations – epileptic users can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
• Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
• Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
• Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
• Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.
