“The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe; keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds. Credit and thanks go to our longtime management team, our dedicated road crew, and our exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support, throughout these many years,” the band said in a press statement.

“We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful. Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle. The official farewell tour is currently underway. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round.  So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set.

“The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand.  But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

The performances will see the band – Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – celebrate 50 plus years of their career.

The new dates come after they announced their farewell tour across North America last summer , which is continuing across February and March. You can purchase any remaining tickets here .

Eagles’ UK and European dates for ‘The Long Goodbye Tour’ are:

MAY 31 – Manchester, UK, Co-op Live

JUNE 1 – Manchester, UK, Co-op Live 4 – Manchester, UK, Co-op Live 13 – Arnhem, The Netherlands, GelreDome

2022 saw the ‘Hotel California’ artists embark on a European and UK/Ireland tour and included a concert at BST Hyde Park in London – which fans initially suspected could have been their last in the UK .

During the show, Henley said: “In case we don’t pass this way again, I want to thank you all for embracing these songs, taking them into your hearts and your homes – we appreciate it.”

In July last year, Randy Meisner, a co-founder of the Eagles and the band’s original bassist, died at the age of 77 .

Despite initial uncertainties expressed by Don Henley during their BST Hyde Park headline concert in 2022 about a possible return to European shores, the Eagles have put those doubts to rest.

In a surprising turn of events, they've announced a three-show residency at Manchester's Co-op Live in May and June 2024.

To add to the excitement, it has been confirmed that Steely Dan will be the supporting act for each of the scheduled concerts.

‘A bunch of guys with guitars’ … Eagles at Anfield stadium.

Eagles review – unflashy ‘guys with guitars’ deliver feelgood comforts

Anfield, Liverpool Even without the whizz-bangery of the classic big-ticket stadium tour, the California veterans offer a dopamine hit of soft-rock singalongs from another time

“T here’ll be no fireworks, no wind machines, and no butt-whacking choreography – just a bunch of guys with guitars,” Don Henley tells Liverpool by way of introducing Eagles’ 50th anniversary tour, addressing an audience who for the most part appear to have been around to witness all five of those decades, accompanied by a few of their offspring. That said, the setlist dwells almost entirely on the 1970s, the era of Hotel California and Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), still among the biggest selling albums ever.

Tales of Eagles excess in those days are legendary, but today they’re men in their 70s, presenting their young selves’ back catalogue with flawless five-part harmonies and machine-tooled precision. Not all the 1970s members made their 1994 reunion; since then, they lost co-founder Glenn Frey in 2016. But US country star Vince Gill sings his songs with care and empathy, bringing the perfect amount of aching yearning to Take It to the Limit, and smiling in delight as he realises Anfield is singing along to Lyin’ Eyes. There’s a surprise reappearance of Frey’s son, Deacon, who quit touring with the Eagles last year but returns for the likes of Take It Easy: quintessential, Californian soft-rock from another time, which sounds strangely comforting now.

“We just want you to forget about the news cycle, have a few beers and enjoy yourselves,” urges Henley, who peels off his sublime 80s solo smash, The Boys of Summer. Guitarist Joe Walsh – who looks as if he’s enjoyed a party in his time – admits it was “a lot more fun being 20 in the 70s than 70 in the 20s”, by way of introducing Life’s Been Good, his 1978 solo hit, a knowingly affectionate send-up of rock-star excess (“My Maserati does one-eighty-five / I lost my licence, now I don’t drive”).

As darkness falls, Heartache Tonight gets the crowd on their feet and the band crank up the guitars for Life in the Fast Lane. The opening chords of Hotel California trigger instant euphoria, and the stadium-sized audience sings along with every word.

I have always wanted to see The Eagles as a matter of fact it is a bucket list concert. My very first time going to the see them and I was not disappointed. Three and a half hours of pure music with a small break. I sang along with almost every song the band played. I have gotten used to politics in concerts this was a politics free zone. thank you so much for the break.

One gripe if I have one it seemed like the special guest was Joe Walsh, he played James Gang to Eagles songs. It is a small gripe because the guy is just amazing. One thing I noticed just from being old when the girl came out in the Hotel California set to flip the album she actually did not flip the the album. yes I am old. but it was a great effect.

I would go see them again in 1/2 a heart beat.

What. A. Show! I grew up listening to the Eagles, either on album, CD, or my dad playing his guitar. It was a truly wonderful experience to be able to see them live with my dad and watch his enjoyment of seeing a band he’s loved for so long live. The staging and pace of the show was absolutely amazing and set the tone perfectly, and the graphics and lighting designers definitely did their best work. We were close to the stage and it was absolutely fascinating to watch all the cameras recording the event, as well. The band was exceptional but the team behind them is definitely to be commended for this one! I hope everyone who sees this tour has the same level of enjoyment my family and I did!

Experiencing the September, 2019 Eagles "Hotel California" concert at the MGM was a musical trip into near perfection.

The sound was very good even in our very expensive nosebleed seats.

The place was packed and the audience nonstop in its loud and persistent appreciation of all things Eagles, especially new members Deacon Frey and Vince Gill.

Longtime mega-talented members Henley, Walsh and Smith were true crowd pleasers, as they always are.

Having a full orchestra and an angelic choir from UNLV supporting the endeavor was at times ethereally mesmerizing to the point of enthrallment.

Once again the Eagles have lived up to their reputation as purveyors of musical excellence.

The Eagles have announced they will be embarking on an “official farewell tour”, rounding out a “miraculous 52-year odyssey”.

With five No 1 singles, six No 1 albums, and six Grammy Awards, the five-piece rock band, formed in 1971, are considered one of the most successful and longest-running acts in popular music history.

Now, after having performed over a thousand concerts during a career spanning more than five-decades, the “Hotel California” rockers – Dan Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – will embark on their “swan song”.

“The official farewell tour is currently in the planning stages. We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round. So, scheduling information will be released as dates are set. The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand. But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up,” the group said in a Thursday (7 July) statement, shared with Variety .

“Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

The Eagles are in the middle of what may very well be the band’s final concert tour. As the group prepares to play more shows to huge crowds throughout Europe, their latest album has become another hit for the band–one that’s brought them back into the highest reaches of several Billboard charts.

This week, the Eagles hit the top 10 on three different tallies. The band debuts their latest project To The Limit: The Essential Collection inside the loftiest region on a trio of rosters, showing that there’s still intense interest in their music, even after decades together.

To The Limit debuts highest on the Top Rock Albums. On that ranking of the most-consumed rock full-lengths and EPs in the U.S., the new set from the Eagles opens at No. 6.

The same compilation starts at No. 8 on a very similar list, the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. As its name suggests, that roster includes both pure rock and pure alternative titles, and it also focuses on total consumption of all eligible projects.

The Eagles come in just one rung lower on the Top Album Sales chart. To The Limit opens at No. 9 on that ranking of the bestselling efforts in America. According to Luminate, the latest offering from the band arrives with 6,987 copies purchased.

To The Limit marks the fifth top 10 for the Eagles on all three of those charts. On the genre-specific lists, the new release brings the band their first new win inside that tier since 2020. On the Top Album Sales chart, they reached the top 10 just last year.

The latest from the Eagles also manages to debut on the Billboard 200. That chart ranks all of the 200 most-consumed albums in the country, regardless of how long they’ve been around or what style of music they fit under. On that list, To The Limit launches at No. 30, earning one of the highest starts of the week. The set moved 22,115 equivalent units in its first seven days of availability.
