2023 TOUR Championship Tickets on Sale to General Public

Tournament officials announced today that Daily Grounds and upgraded Michelob ULTRA Athletic Club tickets are now on sale to the general public for the 2023 TOUR Championship. Serving as host of the culminating event of the FedExCup Playoffs and PGA TOUR season, the tournament will be held once again at historic East Lake Golf Club, August 23-27. Only the PGA TOUR’s 30 best players punch their ticket to the TOUR Championship and earn the right to compete for the FedExCup and the season-long title. The launch of ticket sales for the TOUR Championship comes on the heels of the PGA TOUR’s new Netflix docuseries, “Full Swing,” which was unveiled on Feb. 15 and features East Lake Golf Club and the TOUR Championship in the show’s final episode. With this unprecedented access to the PGA TOUR and its players, fans will get to view behind-the-scenes footage of Rory McIlroy’s dramatic six-stroke final-round comeback over Scottie Scheffler to win his record third FedExCup title. The 2023 TOUR Championship will also serve as the final opportunity of the year for fans to see the PGA TOUR’s best players compete against each other. Beginning in 2024, the PGA TOUR season will run from January-August, replacing the wraparound season model that ran from mid-September through the following August. Daily Grounds Daily Grounds tickets for the 2023 TOUR Championship start at $35 for Wednesday, $75 for Thursday, $80 for Friday, and $90 each for Saturday and Sunday plus taxes and fees. Tickets are dynamically priced, so fans are encouraged to purchase early to secure the lowest available price. The TOUR Championship is Atlanta’s must-attend outdoor sporting event of the summer, with something for every fan to enjoy. NEW: 1st Tee Seating

The TOUR Championship has made it easier than ever for fans to post up on the 1st tee and watch all 15 groups begin their round at East Lake Golf Club. Thanks to a new double-decker buildout, those Daily Grounds ticketholders have access to the second floor and the Shaded Bleachers presented by NetJets, making the 1st Tee a spot to check out during the TOUR Championship. 

While sitting in the shade at the 1st Tee, fans will also have access to a new beverage concession area at the top of the grandstand, along with seating options, providing a unique vantage point to the start of the round.

As an enhancement to the Shaded Bleachers presented by NetJets, the 1st Tee experience will also feature a video board to highlight the best players in the world and inject even more excitement to the area. From the Hope Tee Shot Ceremony to start the round on Thursday through the last tee time on Sunday, the 1st tee will be the place to be at the TOUR Championship.

SO Cool Zone presented by Southern Company

Take a stroll through the SO Cool Zone presented by Southern Company near the 15th and 14th greens, where shade sails, lounge furniture and misters will keep guests cool as they watch the telecast on the big screen. While there, fans can grab a bite from Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q , Universal Joint , and Henri’s Bakery ! After lunch, the PGA TOUR Fan Shop is there to handle all shopping needs! For a selfie suggestion, snap a photo with the Payne Stewart Award, which is annually awarded during TOUR Championship week to the player who exhibits the values of character, charity and sportsmanship.

Have the kids in tow? In partnership with Georgia Aquarium, fans will get to see and interact with some of the animals that can be found within the Southern Company River Scout Gallery at the Georgia Aquarium. The TOUR Championship is proud to once again announce the return of Back Nine Brews, a craft beer destination from Michelob ULTRA located near the 18 th tee and in close proximity to the Rideshare Gate adjacent to the 13th fairway. For a food option,  Go Dog! is back for a third year at the TOUR Championship, serving up their unique twists on a classic!

Golf With a Purpose

East Lake Golf Club

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, East Lake Golf Club is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta and where legendary golfer Bobby Jones learned the game. The Club is not only historic, but philanthropic as well. Proceeds from Club operations support several charitable partners, including the East Lake Foundation, which has helped transform one of the nation’s worst public housing projects into a thriving community. Since 2005, East Lake has been the permanent home of the TOUR Championship, the culminating event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedEx Cup.

A legendary golf course

Established in 1904, East Lake was originally designed by architect Tom Bendelow. His design, which took three years to complete, was short lived. In 1913, the Club hired Donald Ross to completely rework the Bendelow design. Over the years, Ross’ routing remained basically intact. George Cobb did some work in 1959 in preparation for the Club to host the Ryder Cup in 1963. After years of neglect, Rees Jones restored East Lake in 1993. In 2023, architect Andrew Green will lead a complete renovation of the course, using previously unknown photos as design inspiration.

The Tour Championship

August 28 - September 1, 2024

East Lake Golf Club has been the permanent home of the TOUR Championship since 2005. The tournament was first played at East Lake in 1998 and has been held at East Lake 23 times since then. The TOUR Championship is the culminating event of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedEx Cup, with only the top 30 players on the points list qualifying each year. The 2023 TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup Champion is Viktor Hovland.

TOUR Championship: How it works, 'FedExCup Starting Strokes' and FedExCup payouts

The TOUR Championship will once again feature a staggered start beginning in Round 1 at East Lake Golf Club. Scottie Scheffler will once again begin the week top of the leaderboard looking to win the FedExCup and the bonus of $18 million.

The FedExCup points leader after the first two Playoffs events will begin the TOUR Championship at 10-under par. The No. 2 player will start at 8-under. The No. 3 player starts at 7-under; the No. 4 player starts at 6-under; the No. 5 player starts at 5-under. Players 6-10 start at 4-under; players 11-15 start at 3-under; players 16-20 start at 2-under; players 21-25 start at 1-under; and players 26-30 start at even par.

‘FedExCup Starting Strokes’ and one swing from every player at TOUR Championship

At the TOUR Championship, the player with the lowest stroke total over 72 holes when combined with his FedExCup Starting Strokes will be crowned the FedExCup champion, be credited with an official victory at the TOUR Championship, earn a bonus of $18 million and a five-year PGA TOUR exemption.

How Many Golf Courses are There in Russia?

Golf is played throughout various countries all over the globe. However, among many of those countries, Russia is not one. The game is not as popular in Russia as compared to other places. As a result, Russia has only a few golf courses.

Although the sport is not that popular in Russia, it has grown considerably over the past years. Its first course was opened approximately 30 years ago, named, the Moscow City Golf Club; A nine-hole layout. One of the most recent ones includes is a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, called Raevo Golf and Country Club, outside Moscow.

However, it is not the only one in the city. Raevo is the third layout designed by the Golden Bear in Moscow. The first Jack Nicklaus designed course in Russia was the Tseleevo Golf and Polo Club. Moreover, it was opened in the year 2008, just outside Moscow.

Why is it tough to play in Russia?

One of the main reasons why the game is not so popular in Russia is its climate. The prolonged winter season makes it difficult for people to play on the courses.
