Char Dham Yatra Registration Guide 2024

Char Dham registration is a compulsory document for those who are planning to visit Badrinath , Kedarnath , Gangotri , Yamunotri temples or Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand. 

The facility for getting the document of biometric registration is very easy to get. The government is providing both offline and online options for a pilgrimage to do char dham registration. Here is the detailed guide about how to do registration for Char Dham temples & Hemkund sahib online registration process.

Registration for Char Dham Yatra is Open Now!!

On Apirl 15, both online and offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra will begin. Pilgrims can also sign up through the state tourism department's mobile app. For general darshans, a token system may be implemented, and for special prayers (rudrabhishek), online registration will be required.

Can we do Char Dham registration online?

Yes, you can. There is no need to stand in long queues because chardham biometric facility is available online. Just visit the official website of char dham registration and follow the steps.

1) Online through this Web Portal ( registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in ) 2) Mobile Application (Download touristcareuttarakhand  App on Google Playstore or Apple App Store) 3) +91-8394833833 (Type Yatra  on Whatsapp and send this number) 4) Call on Toll Free Number: 0135-1364

Mode of Verification Physically only at the shrine being visited through scanning of the "QR Code" on the allotted wrist bands or in the mobile app or downloaded "Yatra Registration Letter".

Step wise step guide to do Char Dham registration online

If you are facing any issue wile doing registration or if its your first time then you can follow this step wise step easy guide for a successful registration. Make sure you are filling the correct information about yourself. Registration is important to avail online darshan booking services. So here is the guide

Step 1: Go to https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/ Step 2: Get Char Dham information & Tourist Registration and Verification Process: Step 3: Click on Login/Register -  Registration through any of the below identity - Individual (Self) or -  Family (Self and Family) or -  Tour Operator Step 4: To create a new account, enter Full Name, Mobile No., Select Tour Operator/Individual/Family, Enter Password & Confirm Password, and then click on Sign Up button. Step 5: If you have already Signed Up earlier then, Sign In from the same page with entering Mobile Number, Password and Enter Captcha and click on Sign In Button 1 Step 6: After Sign In, you will see the Dashboard with your name on the left Step 7:  Now, create/manage tour by clicking on Create/Manage Tour Info. The Plan Your Trip Page will open Step 8:  Click on Add New Tour Step 9: Select Tour Type, add Tour Name, select Tour Duration (Date of Entering & Leaving into state) in Uttarakhand from date picker. Enter No. of Tourists (If there are 5 family members, who are coming to Uttarakhand then user has to enter 5 number in that field), Select Specific Date of Tour in front of the destination. Step 10:  Click on Save button Step 11:  Now, you will see the tour has been created Step 12: Add pilgrim under that tour. So, click on Add Pilgrim button now Step 13: You will see Registration of Tourist form now. Your destination will be displayed automatically. Here, user has to enter details who is going to travel to Uttarakhand. Step 14: Enter Full Name*, Enter Age*, Select Gender*, Email Address, Mobile number of Tourist* (To be carried during yatra), Country, Residential Address, City, District Name, Select State, Emergency Contact Person, Mobile Number and Relation (Who is not travelling with you) Contact Person Name, Emergency Contact Number, Contact Person Relation. Select if you are from below profession Tick Option (I am a Doctor), Mode of Travel for Dham (After entering into Uttarakhand State). Suppose if you are selecting Private car then enter Driver’s Name and Vehicle Number. Enter passport size photo, Select Identity proof and Upload that document. Step 15: If you want to add more tourists then you can click on Save & Next or else you can click on Finish button to complete the registration. Step 16: Then after user has to download Yatra Registration Letter in which a unique QR code will be displayed on that PDF, which user can see on the List of Pilgrims/Tourist screen. That tourist/pilgrim has to keep during the uttarakhand yatra. And also an SMS will be sent to the tourist from the system along with the unique ID. Step 17:  Tourist has to keep that Yatra Registration Letter or that received SMS on their mobile number during the Uttarakhand tour. Step 18:  Before the check-in of that destination, Yatrimitra will check that SMS or Yatra Registration Letter (QR code) for verification. Step 19:  Pilgrim will also get Yatri Certificate in their login after verification at Chardham Step 20:  For Safe Journey and assistance across the route in Uttarakhand, you can register through- registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in  And Mobile App – Tourist Care Uttarakhand (Downloadable from Google Play Store and App Store)

After the 2013 Uttarakhand floods, govt faced a lot of criticism for their preparedness for disaster management and instant flood and rain. It was very hard to get the information like how many pilgrims were stranded in the valley & their details to get in touch with their families. So when the Yatra has been started in 2014, Uttarakhand govt. made the registration for Char Dham Yatra mandatory to trek all the movement and information about the pilgrimage for data, security & for mitigation purpose. So, if you are planning to visit any temple of char dham circuit, make sure to do Char dham registration before starting your Yatra.

Why register, how to register, char dham yatra registration online .

• Visit the official website dedicated to Char Dham Yatra registration. https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/
• Fill in the required details, including personal information, ID proof, and the proposed date of visit.
• After filling in the details, you will be required to upload a scanned copy of an ID proof like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, or Passport.
• After successful registration, you will receive a Registration Number. Keep this number handy as it will be required for future references.

Uttarakhand's ‘Chardham Yatra’ is one of the most popular Hindu pilgrimages in India. Registration for this journey, which includes visits to four holy dhams - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri - is already open. Pilgrims visit many other holy places on their way to these destinations, including Rishikesh, Haridwar, and others.

Over 2.50 lakh devotees have already registered for the yatra, according to the data from state Tourism Development Council. 1.39 lakh people have registered for Kedarnath Dham. 1.14 lakh people have registered to visit Badrinath Dham. The official website of Chardham Yatra says that the journey which normally takes 12 days, can now be completed in as little as 5 days. Chardham Yatra Registration is compulsory for every pilgrim who wants to perform the ritual.

The doors of Gangotri-Yamnotri will be opened to the piligrims on April 22. While, Kedarnath will open on April 25 and Badrinath Dham on April 27. The Rudraprayag district administration announced on Saturday that preparations for the Chardham Yatra have already begun.

Registration

-There is no fee associated with the tourist registration process.

-Registration modes:

1) Register online at https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/.

2) Through Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile application (Download Android App & iOS App )

3) Using WhatsApp - Mobile Number: +91 8394833833

In WhatsApp, type "Yatra" to begin the registration process.

-Verification Mode: Tourists will be verified only at the shrine by scanning the "QR Code" in the mobile app or through downloaded "Yatra Registration Letter".

Devotees can register with four easy steps:

1)Fill out the registration form for the ChardhamYatra.

2) Submit it along with the required documents.

3) Pay a processing fee online or in person at banks and post offices.

4) Download an electronic copy of the registration certificate.

How does the route go?

The Chardham Yatra covers around 2500 km. The route begins at the Yamunotri Temple in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and continues to the other three temples at higher altitudes. Finally, it arrives at Badrinath Temple, the youngest among all four dhams.

The yatra can be completed on foot or by horseback, but most pilgrims prefer to use a tour company to provide transportation and basic lodging in tents. There will also be a helicopter option available from Delhi to Badrinath on this yatra.

Char dham yatra comprises the pilgrimage to the four holy shrines of uttarakhand.

Super publicity on media but pathetic app service.

The app even fails to open properly, I couldn’t even go through the menu in 15 minutes, everytime it showed error and cast out. Pathetic app.

The online registration most popular Hindu pilgrimages in India has begun. The Uttarakhand tourism department announed that the online registration for the Char Dham Yatra, which includes pilgrimage of four holy sites - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri started on the tourism department's portal

The doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri and Kedarnath will open on May 10 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya while that of Badrinath shrine will open on May 12. Every year, lakhs of devotees visit the holy pilgrimage which remains shut for around six months every year.

Gangotri Dham is set to open its doors at precisely 12:25 pm local time. Shri Badrinath Dham is scheduled to open on May 12, at 6 am. The doors for Shri Kedarnath Dham will open from May 10 onwards at 7 am.

How to register for Char Dham Yatra 2024:

1) Visit the official Char Dham yatra registration website at registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in

2) Click on the Register or login option 

3) Register by entering your personal details such as phone name, number, email id etc.

4) Complete the registration by entering the OTP sent on your mobile phone.

5) As the new dashboard appears, add details of your tour such as travel dates, number of tourists, tour name, tour type and so on

6) Once your registration is complete, a unique registration number will be sent to your mobile phone and you'll be able to download the registration letter for Chardham yatra.

Apart from the web, registrations can also be made through mobile application - ‘Tourist Care Uttarakhand’ which is available on Android and iOs. WhatsApp registration is also available, You need to simply message ‘Yatra’ to initiate the registration process on +91 8394833833.

Meanwhile, last week, the Chamoli District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana had visited the Badrinath Dham and and instructed officials that before the start of the Yatra, works related to sewer line repair, improvement of internal routes, water, electricity, street lights and vehicle parking should be completed and signage should be installed for passenger convenience.

IRCTC tour package

IRCTC has announced its 11 days 12 nights packages from Mumbai, Delhi with tour dates on 11-22 May, 18-29 May and 25 May to 5 June. Pilgrims can visit the official website of IRCTC tourism i.e. irctctourism.com to book the packages depending on their origin destination. Speaking of the places that will be covered, the air tour package start with flight from Mumbai to Delhi and then head to places including Haridwar – Barkot – Jankichatti – Yamunotri – Uttrakashi – Gangotri – Guptkashi – Kedarnath - Gaurikund - Sitapur- Badrinath-Rudraprayag - Haridwar- Delhi- Mumbai.

Step:6 Create a Tour and Click on Update below details required to create tour.
