This electronic visa system has been available for travelers since 1 September 2014. Foreign nationals can apply for a tourism or business visa, without ever stepping into a Myanmar embassy. This streamlined system cuts out the time wasted waiting in lines and costly processes that were previously in place.

The Myanmar electronic visa (eVisa) is also known as the eVisa Approval Letter , and it is a mandatory travel requirement for foreign nationals from qualifying countries who wish to visit the Republic of Myanmar for tourism purposes.
