Clearer, easier and faster to use: The new Lufthansa app is now available for download. It has been redeveloped from scratch and optimized together with customers. The app features an improved, clear design and makes traveling even easier and more convenient.

Digital travel companion

As a "digital travel companion," the new Lufthansa app is designed to proactively support passengers from booking to arrival at their destination by providing relevant updates and matching offers through push notifications and real-time information at the right time of travel.

Book more conveniently

Regardless of the destination: the new mobile booking platform makes booking flights even easier and faster thanks to an improved user interface.

Smooth check-in

The new check-in offers all passengers an improved travel experience. The intuitive use and modern design make it even easier to make the necessary travel preparations and to board the flight in a relaxed manner.

Convenient payment

The new "digital wallet" ensures equally seamless payment. This will allow multiple payment methods to be stored in the Travel ID account from the end of March.

To offer passengers additional support during operational peaks, further self-servicing functions are planned for the Lufthansa app.

With the launch of the new Lufthansa app, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS are using a joint app solution for the first time. It is now available in the Apple App Store for iOS from version 14 and in the Google Play Store for Android from version 5.

Log into your Miles & More account

Please enter your Travel ID (email address) or service card number.

Your service card number consists of 15 characters and can be found on your Miles & More card or your service card in the Miles & More app. You created your User ID (4-16 characters) when you registered.

Please enter your password.

Your password contains at least eight characters. Your PIN consists of the numbers 0-9.

Networked all around - with Lufthansa FlyNet® and Travel ID

Whether you prefer to polish your presentation during your flight, relax while listening to a podcast or simply want to check your connecting flights: with Lufthansa FlyNet®, travelers can surf in a relaxed manner on board. Use the FlyNet® portal to register for your personal Travel ID directly on board - automatic e-mail authentication included. For the Lufthansa Group and all your travelers, this is another important step towards an all-round connected, digital travel experience on board.

How it works:

Since June 1, 2023, travelers on continental flights receive 30 free minutes on the in-flight WLAN FlyNet®. Simply log in with your personal Travel ID - and you will have access to the latest travel information and updates on connecting flights. Travelers also enjoy many self-service options in the Customer Cockpit and numerous entertainment options such as eJournals and podcasts.

Service card number, Travel ID and User ID

Service card number

This is a 15-digit number you get from Miles & More when you register. It starts with 9999 for members who opt out of advertising, 9920 for members without frequent flyer status, 9922 for Frequent Travellers, 222 for Senators and 333 for HON Circle Members.

Where can I find it?

Your service card number can be found in your registration confirmation email. 

You can also find it: 

• In your account on the Miles & More website

• In the app under “Card”

• On your Miles & More Credit Card (if you have one)

• In your Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS accounts 

PIN/password

Your service card number is used with a PIN (personal identification number). In your registration confirmation email, you were asked to set a PIN.

If you have forgotten your service card number PIN, you can request a new one  here .

What do I use it for?

You use your service card number to identify yourself here:

• With Miles & More and the airport lounges

• In Worldshop

• With our partners online or in store 

• Over the phone 

If you lose it 

Contact us in writing using the  contact form . Upload a copy of an official document such as an ID card, passport or birth certificate with the reference “Lost service card number”. Please note that it may take a few weeks to process your request. A member of staff at our Service Centre will personally check your details to rule out any fraud.  

Good to know

If your frequent flyer status changes, your service card number will change, but your PIN will stay the same.

Your Travel ID is the email address you entered if you registered after March 2022. You can use this to log in to Miles & More and all Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS digital channels. 

If you registered with Miles & More before March 2022, you were given the option to add Travel ID to your account retroactively. 

Not using Travel ID yet?  Activate it now with just a few clicks .

Your Travel ID is your email address. You can find it in your account. You choose your email address and the password you use to log in yourself. 

When you created your Travel ID, you set a password for it yourself.

If you have forgotten your Travel ID password, you can request a new one  here .

Travel ID is the easy way to access your Miles & More account and your Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS accounts. If you update your profile details in one account, the changes will be automatically implemented across all accounts. 

If you lose it

If you can’t remember which email address you entered, you can log in to your Miles & More account using your service card number instead. You can then check your saved Travel ID, which you can change at any time.

If you registered before March 2022, you created your user ID yourself. Since the introduction of Travel ID, there is no longer the option of creating a user ID. If you already have a user ID, you can continue to use it. 

You can find your user ID in your Miles & More account. 

When you created your user ID, you set a password for it. If you receive a message saying that your password has expired when you enter it, this means your current password no longer meets our security requirements. In this case, please reset your password.

If you have forgotten your user name PIN, you can request a new one  here .

You can use your user ID and password to log in to Miles & More and Worldshop. 

Since the switch to Travel ID, you can no longer change your user ID. You can reset your password when you log in. 

If you register as a new Miles & More member now, there is no longer the option to log in using a user ID and password.

There is an easy way to manage staff ID travel: Airlines use myIDTravel to manage their employees’ ID travel cost-efficiently. IT departments using this SaaS solution benefit from the advantages of a pay-per-use SaaS, and staff appreciates the application’s intuitive handling via smartphone, tablet or computer.

With increased economic pressure, airlines are looking to reduce the cost of providing ID travel benefits to their employees. At the same time, employee satisfaction and employee benefits play an important in maintaining a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Using the cloud to manage travel above the clouds

Airlines can use the cloud-based solution myIDTravel to manage complex interlining processes for business-related and private staff travel intuitively and efficiently. Provided as software as a service (SaaS), myIDTravel can be easily integrated into existing IT environments. Employees simply help themselves using their preferred desktop browser or on their smartphones or tablets.

Lufthansa Industry Solutions developed myIDTravel together with a large customer community, which means that it has a myriad of functions that cover almost all requirements. As a standard solution, the cloud service supports all relevant functions for the management of ID travel. But myIDTravel can also be custom integrated into any normal operating process, such as payment solutions or employee information systems. In addition to this, myIDTravel can process any booking segment in connected computer reservation systems (GDS) of the airline operating the flight or individual flight stage. This means that flights like these no longer have to be settled between airlines, which leads to substantial savings in terms of both costs and time.

The myIDTravel application by Lufthansa Industry Solutions stands for particularly intuitive and innovative travel management. This means that airlines can use our solution to conclude an ID agreement with a new partner in just a few clicks. myIDTravel has an interface that provides access to all of the common reservation systems, HR systems and payment providers for industry discount travel.

'Roughest landing': Watch video of plane bouncing off runway as it attempts to land at LAX

A Boeing 747 operated by Lufthansa Airlines ran into a couple of bumps as it landed at LAX Airport in Los Angeles.

Video footage of the landing, captured by Airlines Videos Live , shows the aircraft skidding on the runway and then bouncing off the ground as it attempts to land. The plane then takes off again, flying for a few minutes before successfully landing.

"What? Whoa, whoa, whoa," the commentator of the livestream could be heard saying. "We're getting that go around. Holy moly. Wow. That is the roughest landing I think we've ever caught on our broadcast."

A Boeing 747-8 Lufthansa flight was scheduled to land around 1 p.m. ET at LAX after a more than 11-hour flight from Frankfurt, Germany, LAX's website shows.

No injuries reported

Lufthansa Airlines, in an email statement to USA TODAY, said that Flight LH 456 from Frankfurt to Los Angeles had a "rough landing" Tuesday. 326 passengers and 19 crew members were on board the flight and no injuries were reported.

The airline said the plane later flew back to Frankfurt following "an assessment by the cockpit crew, a consultation with the technical department on site and in Frankfurt and an initial visual inspection," where it will undergo further inspection. Lufthansa did not specify if the plane flew back empty or had passengers on board.

While Boeing incidents have been in the news in recent months after a series of high-profile incidents , aviation experts maintain you shouldn't worry about flying .

“We don’t have to worry that there’s something systemically wrong with aviation,” Clint Balog, an associate professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, previously told USA TODAY.

much like the main app this is horrible too with zero settings , none of your followers and no views! and they released it in canada even tho they dont include canadians in their creator fund. when america bans them ( god willing ) i hooe america makes canada ban them too . horrible company horrible app
