All the field staff including Bruno and Alex from Sunwing Los Cabo are the best. We flew Elite plus. But their leadership an admin who's name starts with a Z, and also another unprofessional lady who says she is the boss of Cabo Elise. But were hanging up on their sunwing rep. Very rude to talk too, have little or no training most likely in customer service. Sunwing should be embarrassed to have these ladies as leaders. They would not inform us who else we could talk too and told us "saying this isnt Westjet, maybe you should fly with them for better aervice"??? Who says that to a customer??? Because of their leadership I wouldnt recommended using Sunwing in Mdxico

Terrible and confusing check in process. We had to take a bus to a off site airport. Then, we stopped in Windsor for 2 hours to top up fuel. What’s going on? Was the gas cheaper in Windsor ? Return flight was 16 hours from the time we left our resort. We were not advised of delays until we arrived at the airport. Then we stopped in Cabo San Lucas to drop off and pick up passengers and top up fuel again. We arrived in Toronto at 4:30 am at the off site airport where we boarded a bus to get to terminal 3. To top the cake, Customs Office opened at 6am. The flight from hell🥵 That was the flight from hell🥵

Just got back today from the worse flights of my life. We paid to get a one way trip but ended up having to stop twice on the way there. We were suppose to arrive at Riu Santa fe early afternoon and instead we got there at 10:30pm and we git crackers for our long delay! We missed out on one day! I sent an email to Sunwing with a dry sorry for your inconvenience! At the end of our trip, our flight was delayed twice. We ended up waiting at the airport at 6:30pm and didn’t leave until 11pm so it ended up being a red eye flight! No compensation was offered, no free meal or discount on excursions for our major inconvenience. When i emailed Sunwing rep a second time to ask for a room extension for a few hours since our flight was delayed again, she said we’d have to pay for that! If Sunwing would’ve shown us some kind of human decency, this review would not have been written. Terrible customer service SUNWING VACATIONS and we will never book with you again! p.s. i spoke to a young man who booked with them the year before and the same thing happened.

I despise Sunwing to the point that I will be opting out of any future family vacations that use Sunwing. To only be able to do a web check in 12 hours prior to a flight is extremely annoying and NOT industry standard. As well, I get put on the same booking as my entire family (I don't think that's Sunwing's fault but not sure) but that means headaches all around when I try to check in, as I'm the only one flying from a different city. I often can't find my reservation and for my return flight, the system wouldn't let me check in until my family's earlier flight had taken off. Super annoying. The in-flight entertainment is not only nil (a few screen scattered throughout the plane) it's annoying, as they constantly turn on commercials for duty free, food purchases, etc. Being bombarded with noisy ads is not cool. Load your device and bring extra batteries as there are no USB ports at your seat. Speaking of seats, they are super tight and small--some of the worst I've ever flown on. Also--it seems that there is only one bathroom (and I mean literally one toilet for the entire plane) at the front of the plane, so unless you have a seat way at the back (yuck) expect to have some one's butt or arm or elbow constantly in your face as the line up for the bathroom runs half way down the plane. Couple that with the flight attendants trying to do food and drink service, and you have a nightmare--I've been smacked in the head too many times to count on Sunwing flights. That almost never happens on any other airline I've flown with. They board from the back, which is great and makes total sense, but there was very limited overhead bin space, and people soon filled ALL the over head bins, even in rows where people hadn't boarded yet. This means if the flight is full, and you haven't shelled out for the overpriced Elite service (which I do when I can), there is a good chance you can't put your bag anywhere near your seat. IMO, this shouldn't be permitted. The flight attendants were all professional and friendly, in the limited interactions I had. I don't do checked luggage or check in at the airport, so my experience with the staff is limited to the flight attendants and the Sunwing team that gets you from airport to your shuttle bus. One thing Sunwing does extremely well is get you from airport to your resort. They are very fast and it's very seamless. I don't take the bus back to the airport at it leaves sooooooo early and I hate being at the airport 4 hours before my departure. All in all--skip Sunwing, the couple things they do well do not compensate for the rest of the experience, which is always TERRIBLE.

TORONTO — Sunwing has announced that it will deem Cuba as an Easy Entry Destination following the lifting of entry restrictions for fully vaccinated travellers, just in time for the holiday season.

Effective Nov. 15 , fully vaccinated travellers won’t be required to provide a negative test or quarantine upon arrival in Cuba. Passengers will, however, need to provide proof of vaccination, complete the health form provided onboard their flight, and show proof of COVID-19 insurance upon arrival. Unvaccinated passengers will still be required to provide a negative PCR test taken a maximum of 72 hours before their flight departure, both to board their flight in Canada and to be allowed entry into Cuba.

Sunwing, which resumed flights to Cuba last month , is offering service from gateways across Canada in addition to zero change fees, free COVID-19 medical coverage and travel requirements made easy.

Sunwing is set to launch a new push for Cuba travel this coming winter season, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The Canadian travel giant is adding 23 percent capacity for Cuba for the 2023-2024 winter schedule, highlighted by what it called “a marked expansion” in flight service to the island of Cayo Largo. 

Sunwing is also adding two new destinations: Cienfuegos and Manzanillo de Cuba. 

“As the leading vacation provider in Canada, we’re thrilled to deliver more vacation packages and flights to Canadians this winter season, including furthering our commitment to servicing our customers in key regions such as Atlantic Canada and the Prairies,” said Andrew Dawson, President of Tour Operations at Sunwing. “We are growing capacity from last winter and thrilled to be returning to pre-pandemic travel levels, with more great packages and affordable travel options available to our valued customers this winter, including Cienfuegos and Manzanillo de Cuba which are new for this year.”

The company’s expansion is a strong sign for travel to the Caribbean this winter, matched by apparent optimism by major air carriers in the United States, nearly all of whom are significantly ramping up flights to the region for the peak travel season.
