Kenepuru is one of the least discovered, and perhaps most exciting areas in Marlborough, New Zealand (at the top of the South Island). The Keneperu Trail is a four-day, fully guided Marlborough tour where walking and cycling allows you to fully absorb the spectacular scenery of the area.It is a part of the Marlborough Sounds, which has been described as 'a visual feast of the interplay between the land, sea, nature and light' and is well known for its Marlborough wines and cuisine, and specialises in produce from the sea.The Sounds have stunning views, dramatic wooded hilltops, a wide range of native birds, and gorgeous water vistas looking into the many sandy bays that dot the landscape.

Otago Rail Trail

Journey into the past.

The Otago Central Rail Trail is ideal for cyclists who wish to see some spectacular Central Otago scenery, at an easy pace, on flat (gravelled) terrain.Trains typically travel through hills, around hills but (if it can be avoided) not uphill (the maximum gradient is 2%).The idea of the Rail Trail was promoted by the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC), and The Otago Rail Trail Trust, formed specifically to help create this family-oriented recreational facility. The Trail is a public reserve, and motorised vehicles are not permitted. Therefore walkers and cyclists have no traffic concerns as they traverse the level surface.

Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail

The four-day, fully guided, Kaikoura Trail runs from Waiau to Kaikoura in the South Island of New Zealand. This is the second leg of what has been described as the Alpine Pacific Triangle. It is also arguably the most interesting section of the triangle as it descends from the mountains to the sea - with a diverse range of landscape, vistas and geology. To see this pristine area at its best this is the best Kaikoura tour to be part of.

The Tekapo Canal Trail

Description.

Bike Alongside Soaring Landscapes & Turquoise Waters!

What's Included:

Tuatara Tours will take you from Christchurch (which has an international airport) right into the heart of the South Island of New Zealand for The Tekapo Canal Trail. You will soak up the magical views and discover the history of the Mackenzie Country in four leisurely paced days of pedalling. Join us for an unforgettable guided bike tour alongside the picturesque glacial lakes and canals, under the watchful eye of the mighty Mount Cook (New Zealand’s highest mountain).

  • All accommodation
  • Fully guided
  • Free Tuatara Tours kit bag
  • Luggage transport each day
  • Hi viz safety vest
  • Bike helmet
  • Comprehensive safety systems

MacKenzie country hydro canals flow from lake to lake – moving through turbines to generate power. This means that on the Tekapo Canal Trail you will ride downhill alongside five beautiful southern lakes – namely Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, Lake Ruataniwha, Lake Benmore and Lake Ohau on one of our most popular bike tours.

Day 1: Christchurch to Tekapo

You depart from Christchurch and enjoy a scenic and informative drive through to Lake Tekapo, the centre of the South Island. At Tekapo the astounding panoramic views from the top of Mt John Observatory will take your breath away! It is reputedly an area that enjoys the world’s clearest night sky.

As your cycle experience unfolds you are immersed in the incredibly scenic landscape of turquoise coloured glacial lakes and tussock-clad hills, with the stunning backdrop of snow-capped mountains.

You pedal past the world famous Church of the Good Shepherd (which offers awe-inspiring views of Lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps through its altar window). You then ride alongside Lake Tekapo, taking in the views of the magnificent lake and mountains, and in early summer hectares of Russell Lupins in attractive shades of pinks and purples.

This evening you relax at a resort hotel that has unbelievable panoramic views across the turquoise waters of the lake. Optional extra’s include a soak in the hot pools close by, or an evening excursion to the Mt John observatory.

Day 2: Lake Tekapo - Mt Cook to Twizel

After breakfast, you cycle along the emerald blue canals towards Lake Pukaki, with a brief visit to the Mount Cook Salmon Farm. Travel around the end of Lake Pukaki and (depending on how long you want to cycle) up to the Mt Cook Village at the base of Mount Cook itself. You then pass Irishman Creek, an area also well known as the farm station where the world’s first jet boat was built and tested.

While travelling up the rambling road towards Mount Cook you can enjoy stops at Peter’s Lookout, Boundary Stream and Glentanner. The Mount Cook National Park carries World Heritage status and contains almost all of New Zealand’s major mountain peaks - stretching approximately 70kms along the Southern Alps.

On your arrival at Mt Cook there will be time for a look around the Village before heading off by coach to your lodge for the evening.

The evening is spent in a quality lodge, right in the heart of the Mackenzie Country.

Day 3: Twizel to Ohau

You wake up with a wonderful view of the snow capped mountains, and after breakfast you will cycle leisurely along the canal road to Lake Ruataniwha. This is an interesting man-made lake and you will enjoy the local tale of how it was created. A project engineer spent millions of dollars supposedly getting the ‘shoreline redeveloped’…….but instead built a world class rowing course.

You join the Twizel River Trail between Twizel and Lake Benmore. This trail runs for 12km, parallel to the Twizel River, and offers wonderful views of the Mackenzie Basin. The trail ends overlooking the beautiful Lake Benmore, which is New Zealand’s largest man-made lake – famous for its fishing.

Your next experience is to travel a short distance to the start of the Lake Ohau road. From there you will enjoy a relaxed cycle along gradually sloping downhill roads to the magnificent Lake Ohau. A leisurely pedal along the south side of the lake also offers you another opportunity to experience the wonderful views of the snow-capped mountains in the background.

You overnight at the beautiful Lake Ohau Lodge, which provides stunning panoramic views of the lake, mountains and surrounding countryside.

Day 4: Ohau to Christchurch

On the final day, you enjoy a ride to the head of Lake Ohau and into the Ruataniwha Conservation Park. This park consists of over 36,800 hectares of rugged mountain landscapes, encompassing beech (Tawhai) forest, sparkling clear rivers, and the Ohau and Ben Ohau ranges.

Your final group lunch is alongside the shoreline of the lake where you celebrate the conclusion of your four day biking experience - before departing by coach back to Christchurch.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

Apparently, fans don’t want JLo now. So her tour producers are hoping they’ll want JLo then.

The struggling North American “This Is Me…Now” tour – Jennifer Lopez ‘s first in five years — is transforming into “This Is Me…Live/The Greatest Hits.” It’s apparently hoped that the promise of familiar material will goose ticket sales, which already saw seven tour dates canceled.

It has been 10 years since Lopez’s last studio LP, 2014’s A.K.A. , and 22 years since 2002’s This Is Me … Then gave her two of her biggest hits in  “Jenny From the Block”  and “All I Have.”

The two films are This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, and a documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. ”

The projects were part of a self-financed, $20 million multimedia project that includes the tour and the two films.

Jennifer Lopez Variety Cover Story

After canceling seven dates of her first North American tour in five years amid weak ticket sales, Jennifer Lopez has renamed it to apparently broaden its scope, changing it from “This Is Me… Now” to “This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits.”

Requests for comment from Lopez’s reps and Live Nation, which is producing the tour, went unanswered. Live Nation’s site hasn’t been updated to reflect the tour’s name change, but it does have conflicting titles on Lopez’s listings, including “This Is Me… Live” and “This Is Me… Now The Tour.” While some venues hosting Lopez’s performances haven’t changed the original listings on their respective sites, there are a few instances confirming the rebrand, for shows at Palm Springs’ Acrisure Arena and Inglewood’s The Forum . A sponsored Facebook ad from Lopez also features a graphic with the new title.

Upon release in February, “This Is Me… Now” struggled to find an audience, selling 14,000 copies in its first week. While the album did debut atop the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart due to 11,000 in physical sales, it arrived at No. 38 on the Billboard 200, becoming the second of her nine studio albums to bow outside the top 10.

The album was one part of a self-financed $20 million multimedia project including the tour and the two films, “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story,” and a documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.” Variety described the endeavor as an examination of “Lopez’s life as a serial romantic” following her romantic rekindling with actor Ben Affleck, who she married in 2022 after nearly two decades apart.

Puka Nacua says Rams teammate Cooper Kupp is on a 'revenge tour'

Kupp has missed 13 games over the past two seasons.

cooper-kupp-los-angeles-rams-usatsi.jpg

The Los Angeles Rams handed star wideout Cooper Kupp a three-year, $80 million extension after his historic 2021 campaign in which the Rams won the Super Bowl while Kupp won Super Bowl MVP, but his following two NFL seasons have unfortunately been affected by injuries.

A high ankle sprain which required surgery cost Kupp eight games in 2022, and then a hamstring injury cost him the first four games of the 2023 season. Kupp's fellow wideout, Puka Nacua , told Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby on his podcast, " The Rush ," that Kupp is motivated to return to form as one of the best receivers in the league.

"I've been training with Coop so it's been good. He's on a revenge tour. He's been able to get a healthy offseason and stuff so he's back at it," Nacua said, via Pro Football Talk .

Kupp's injury in 2023 opened the door for Nacua to put together a remarkable rookie campaign. The fifth-round pick out of BYU caught double-digit passes for 110+ yards in each of his first two NFL games , and finished his first NFL season with 1,486 yards on 105 receptions. Both figures ranked in the top 10.

With a healthy Kupp and Nacua, Matthew Stafford will have one of the best wide receiving duos in the league. Kupp may turn 31 this offseason, but he became just the fourth player in the Super Bowl era to capture the "triple crown" for wide receivers back in 2021, leading the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16).

2024 Valero Texas Open odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

P layers will have one last chance to tune their game before the Masters this week at the 2024 Valero Texas Open , which is once again being held at TPC San Antonio. Corey Conners will look to defend his title after winning the event last year with a score of 15-under par.

Below, we look at the 2024 Valero Texas Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions .

Rory McIlroy typically doesn't play the week before the Masters but he's in the Texas Open field this year and the betting favorite to win at +1000. Ludvig Aberg (+1200), Hideki Matsuyama (+1800) and Collin Morikawa (+2500) are among the other big names teeing it up this week.

TPC San Antonio is a par 72 and plays at 7,438 yards with very little elevation change throughout the course. It's not an overly challenging course, with the winning score being between 11-under and 20-under par over the last 8 years. However, if the wind picks up it will have a big impact on scoring.

Valero Texas Open – Expert picks

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook ; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 3:53 p.m. ET.

Ludvig Aberg (+1200)

Aberg is only in his 1st full season on the PGA Tour, but he's already one of the best ball strikers in the world and that's highly advantageous on this course. He ranks 24th in strokes gained: tee-to-green this season and his putting isn't holding him back too much (57th in SG), so he's a perfect fit for TPC San Antonio, even after missing the cut here last year.

Corey Conners (+2200)

It's always hard to expect the defending champion to win in back-to-back years but Conners' course history and ball-striking prowess make him too good to ignore. He's won here twice since 2019 (his only 2 PGA wins)  and hasn't finished worse than 35th in his last 5 starts in this event, using his stellar iron play to propel him to 2 victories.

Valero Texas Open picks – Contenders

Keith mitchell (+5500).

After blowing a 54-hole lead at the Valspar Championship 2 weeks ago, Mitchell missed the cut at the Texas Children's Houston Open over the weekend after finishing 3-over in his last 5 holes to miss it by 1 shot. He's still among the best players on tour from tee to green, ranking 8th in strokes gained, and he's finished 17th and 26th in 2 starts here during his career. He's due for a bounce-back.

Erik van Rooyen (+6600)

van Rooyen has not been good around the greens this season, which is holding him back from contending more, but he's 48th on tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green and 19th total. Before he missed the cut at the Players Championship, he finished 8th, 2nd and 25th in 3 consecutive tournaments.

Valero Texas Open picks – Long shots

Ryan moore (+10000).

Moore is quietly playing well right now, finishing 31st, 5th and 45th in his last 3 starts. Impressively, he's 12th in SG: tee-to-green, including 4th in approach, but his putting has been horrific (173rd). TPC San Antonio is more about ball striking than putting, which has helped him finish in the top 10 twice before, so he's a worthy long shot this week.

Matt Kuchar (+12500)

Kuchar has finished 3rd, 2nd, 12th and 7th in his last 4 starts at this tournament, an event he plays every year. Looking at his stats from this season gives you pause when it comes to betting him because he isn't playing well (6 missed cuts in 8 starts), but it's hard to ignore his recent finishes at TPC San Antonio.
