While in Paris you will have the choice between two activities. First, you can choose to visit the awe-inspiring Sacré-Coeur Basilica, the second highest point of the city after the Eiffel Tower, and enjoy free time to explore the area. Or, you can choose to Learn about the neighborhood’s famous artists and writers at the Musée de Montmartre, a historic 17th century house that gives you a glimpse into the artistic side of town

Prolong your stay in the French capital with a 2-night hosted post extension. Step back in time during a locally guided walking tour centered on the French Revolution, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Paris as you please, indulge in the local cuisine during an included dinner at a local Brasserie and slide into the backseat of a vintage retro car to cruise along chic boulevards peering up at the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe from the car’s open roof.

  • Paris - Extension Begins
  • This morning, step back in time during a walking tour centered on the French Revolution. Your expert guide evokes the shadows of Marie Antoinette and Robespierre as you journey back to the tumultuous years of 1789-1799. Visit landmarks such as Place de la Bastille (where the infamous prison once stood) and Place de la Concorde where the revolutionary government erected a guillotine in the square (and where King Louis XVI was executed on 21 January 1793). The afternoon is yours to explore more of the French capital independently. Perhaps you’ll stroll through the Beaubourg neighborhood and take in the whimsical moving fountain of the Centre Pompidou for Contemporary Art. Dedicated to the former French President Georges Pompidou, this building represents the first major example of 'inside-out' architecture with its structural, mechanical and circulation systems exposed on the exterior of the building. Today this eclectic building synthetizes the blend of tradition and innovation that distinguishes Paris.
  • The day is yours to explore more of the French capital on your own. Perhaps you’ll wander over to the Left Bank of the Seine River and plunge into the bohemian atmosphere of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood and the Latin Quarter. Or visit one of the city’s iconic museums, such as the highly acclaimed Musée D’Orsay. The former railroad station now houses some of the world’s best impressionist art. This evening, celebrate the end of your extended stay in Paris with dinner in a local brasserie* before sliding into the backseat of a vintage retro car, cruising through the chic boulevards and peering up at the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe from the car’s open roof.
  • Paris - Depart for Home
  • Wish France adieu as you return home.

Live the Parisian life in style as you join your Tour Manager on a captivating excursion to the Opera District. Take advantage of an immersive experience with Parisian luxury and peruse famous name brand stores to embrace the glam of haute couture fashion. Pass by the stunning opera house of Palais Garnier before getting a glimpse into the history of perfume making at Fragonard Museum. Indulge your senses and scan the ancient artisan bottles, learning about the art of creating the perfect scent. A specialist will help you choose your own cologne, providing an irreplaceable souvenir from your Parisian getaway. Continue on to the famous Galeries Lafayette – a well-known French department store that features a mesmerizing stained glass dome. You might even be able to get a closer look at the dome on the glass skywalk, which reaches out directly below the center of the dome. Cap off the adventure with a trip to the rooftop to admire the city from above. With a drink in hand, marvel at the breathtaking views of the Opera House & Eiffel tower. Enjoy free time to explore the neighborhood and shop before heading back to the hotel by metro.

Join us for a spectacular evening in one of Paris’s most beloved institutions, the famous Paradis Latin. Situated in a building associated with Napoleon and rebuilt by Gustav Eiffel himself, the Paradis has been running here since 1889. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner with wine, then bring on the champagne and let the show commence!

Take a walk down to the Ile de la Cité to snap a picture of the façade of the awe-inspiring Notre Dame.

3-day Guided Normandy : D Day Beaches, Mont Saint-michel And Loire Valley Chateaux From Paris

Our experience was excellent. Everything went smoothly and according to the itinerary, thanks to Leila (sounds like Layla) who was professional, efficient, knowledgeable, fun and friendly. All around a great tour guide. Thanks to her, everything went like clockwork, including getting a bus full of people into our hotel rooms in about 60 seconds. She also knew all of our names and fostered a friendly atmosphere among the group. We saw a lot in 3 days. The hotels and meals were also good. We have no complaints and were very impressed with everything. Hi Leila from Robert and Sirena!

Amsterdam and Paris

This is my second tour with Europamundo. The first was not all that great, but I was partially to blame so I decided to give them another shot. This tour includes stops at locations that are in line with what one would expect to see in the cities included. The transportation is decent and comfortable. Another family and I were asked if we would mind going on a different tour bus because of seating space. Once on the bus it was conducted entirely in Spanish and we had to remind the guide that there were English speakers on board. The city tours provide a lot of information and scenic memories. Make a note that it says on the last day the end of services is after breakfast. Actually, after the city tour in Paris the day before the end of the tour you will get dropped off by the L'ouvre under the premise of a "free day" and you are on your own to get back to your hotel. The accommodations are about a 7.5/10. In Amsterdam I was at the Radisson Blu. It was a nice full service hotel. Daily breakfast was good. Room was comfortable and clean. However, it is not located by anything but warehouse/industrial buildings. However, in Paris We stayed at the Residhome Aparthome in Nanterre. The location is great!!! Lots of restaurants and buzzing college town. However the accommodations were horrid. Specifically my room #209 had old peeling furniture and mildew on the roof and doorways. I took pics and will upload. The staff were French speaking only. Overall, the tour is good. Saw lots of sights and made lifetime memories. Europamundo needs to do a little more fine tuning to be sure the tours run a little more smoothly. I will say I would consider doing another tour with them. Considering the price the value matches what was paid.

Normandy, Brittany & The Loire Valley (Classic, 8 Days) Tour

Normandy, Brittany & The Loire Valley (Classic, 8 Days)

Wonderful tour. Top notch accommodations; very comfortable tour bus; courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guide and driver. Restaurant selections were fine and we had sufficient time to explore on our own. Highly recommended.

What people love about Paris Tours

It was a really good experience. This is my second trip with Eskapas. The first one was a small group tour fully escorted in Italy and it was wonderful. This trip is independent and you are joining at the meeting point to daily group ours. If you have send of orientation, it may be difficult so I recommend yo to take a taxi to reach out to the meeting points. Usually it costs 15-20Euro. The company upgraded our hotel to New Hotel Le Voltaire 4* ,, located in 11th Arrondissement, close to Bastille. It is a correct one, decent breakfast. Don't miss Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise which is close proximity.
Everything about this tour was excellent. The planned trips, the optional trips, the airport transfers, the guides were all top notch. We packed a lot into a week yet, had enough free time. Everything was well planned and kept to schedule. Bruno, our tour guide was charming and informative and kept us on track. Marco our coach drive was a safe and skilled driver. The specialist guides for certain excursions were topnotch. Bruno coordinated all the guides, driver, and venue hosts with efficiency. It was a trip of my dreams for my granddaughter and myself!
It was a very comfortable and enjoyable cruise. The service staff were very friendly and attentive. The fellow passengers were very friendly and sociable which makes the whole cruise line one big happy family.

How much is a private tour in Paris?

The cost of a private tour in Paris can vary depending on several factors, including the duration of the tour, the specific attractions or areas you wish to visit, the level of customization, and the number of people in your group. Additionally, prices may vary among different guides, as they set their own prices with ToursByLocals. The cost of a private tour in Paris typically ranges from around $280 - $600. It's important to note that each guide sets their own prices, which is why there can be a large variation between one guide and another. When planning a private tour, be sure to read the 'what's included' and 'what's extra' sections of the tour page. If you don't quite see what you are looking for, you can send a message to the guide and discuss customizing a tour to meet your specific needs and budget.

How much to tip a tour guide in Paris?

ToursByLocals guides set their own prices in order to compensate themselves fairly for the hard work they do and the time spent preparing for the private tour as well as delivering the tour itself. Therefore there is no expectation for ToursByLocals customers to tip their guide. Guided tours are perfect for getting in-depth knowledge about the history, culture, and significance of the places you're visiting. If you're interested in learning about Paris from a local expert, a guided tour can be very informative, and an excellent use of your vacation time. If you have limited time in Paris and want to see as much as possible in a short period, a private guided tour can be efficient. That way you are not restricted by a set schedule and can prioritise what you want to see in the time you have. Although private tours are generally more expensive than a group tour, they're remarkably value: a good guide can provide you with insider tips, hidden gems, and local recommendations that will help you avoid tourist traps or overpriced places during your stay. ToursByLocals guided tours can be tailored to specific interests, such as art, history, or food. If you have a niche interest, a specialised tour can enhance your experience.

What's the best time to visit Paris?

The best time to visit Paris depends on your personal preferences and what you want to experience in the city. Paris is a year-round destination, and each season offers a unique atmosphere and activities. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons of each season to help you decide when to visit: Spring (March to May): Pros: Mild weather, blooming gardens, and outdoor cafe culture. Spring is considered one of the most romantic times to visit Paris. Cons: Crowds start to build as the weather improves, especially during Easter and school holidays. Summer (June to August): Pros: Warm and sunny weather, longer daylight hours, and plenty of outdoor events and festivals. The city comes alive with open-air markets and concerts. Cons: High tourist season, which means larger crowds and higher prices. Some shops and restaurants may close for French summer holidays. In recent years Paris has experienced extremely high temperatures in the summer months. Fall (September to November): Pros: Mild weather, fewer crowds compared to summer, and beautiful fall foliage in parks like the Luxembourg Gardens. Cons: Weather can be unpredictable, with occasional rain. Some attractions may have shorter hours. Winter (December to February): Pros: The city is beautifully decorated for the holidays, and there's a festive atmosphere. You can enjoy Christmas markets and ice skating rinks. Cons: Cold and potentially wet weather, with shorter daylight hours. Some attractions may have reduced hours during the winter months. In terms of weather and crowds, the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are often considered the best times to visit Paris. The weather is pleasant, and you'll find fewer tourists compared to the peak summer months. However, if you enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of summer festivals and don't mind the crowds, then summer can also be a great time to visit. Keep in mind that specific events and holidays can affect your experience, so consider what you want to see and do in Paris when planning your trip. Additionally, be sure to book accommodations and popular attractions in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.

Where to go for a day trip from Paris?

Here are some popular options for day trips from Paris: Versailles: Located just a short train ride from Paris, the Palace of Versailles is a must-visit destination. Explore the opulent palace, stroll through the vast gardens, and admire the Hall of Mirrors. If you would prefer to go by private transportation, a ToursByLocals guide can arrange this for you. Giverny: Visit the enchanting village of Giverny, where the famous impressionist painter Claude Monet lived and worked. Explore Monet's house and gardens, which served as inspiration for many of his iconic paintings. Fontainebleau: Discover the magnificent Château de Fontainebleau, a former royal residence known for its rich history and beautiful architecture. The château is surrounded by a picturesque forest. Mont Saint-Michel: Although it's a bit further from Paris, Mont Saint-Michel is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of France's most iconic landmarks. Explore the famous Champagne houses, visit the stunning Reims Cathedral, and indulge in tastings. With a ToursByLocals private tour, you don't have to worry about deciding who will be the designated driver, as the guide will take care of the transportation. It houses an impressive art collection and hosts equestrian shows at the nearby Great Stables.

How many days to tour Paris?

The number of days needed to tour Paris can vary depending on your interests, the pace at which you prefer to explore, and the specific attractions you wish to visit. While it's possible to see some highlights of Paris in a shorter time frame, a longer stay allows for a more comprehensive experience. Here are some general recommendations: 2-3 days: With a shorter visit, you can focus on the major highlights of Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and a stroll along the Champs-Élysées. This timeframe allows for a taste of the city's iconic landmarks and popular neighborhoods like Montmartre. A private guide can help you maximise your time during your stay. 4-5 days: With a standard visit, you can explore the major attractions at a more relaxed pace and have time for additional activities. You can delve deeper into the museums, spend more time in neighborhoods like Le Marais or Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and even take a day trip to nearby attractions like Versailles or Giverny. 6-7+ days: An extended visit provides ample time to fully immerse yourself in the city's culture, visit off-the-beaten-path attractions, and discover hidden gems. You can explore different neighborhoods, dine at local cafes and restaurants, attend cultural events, and take multiple day trips to destinations outside of Paris. You can alternate between guided tours and independent exploration to get the most out of your experience.

It's advisable to research and compare prices for flights, accommodations, and activities to get a more accurate estimate for your specific travel dates. It is highly recommended to book your accommodation and activities far in advance of your trip, due to high demand.

Where should I stay while visiting Paris?

Choosing where to stay in Paris depends on your preferences, budget, and the type of experience you want to have. The Tour Auto

A true monument to motor sport, the Tour Auto is the historic reincarnation of the Tour de France Automobile, created in 1899 by the Automobile Club de France. It was on this race that some of the finest pages in motor sport were written, seeing prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Jaguar, and legendary drivers like Maurice Trintignant, Stirling Moss, Phil Hill and Bernard Darniche battle it out on open roads.

Taking to France's most beautiful roads and stopping off at iconic racetracks, it's now the turn of over 250 competing crews to drive their cars across France, to the delight of themselves and their spectators.

Shakira: Cómo, dónde y cuándo llegará ‘Las Mujeres ya no Lloran World Tour’

Tornadoes hit Louisiana and Texas as severe weather causes damage in South

A tornado with 115-mph winds ripped off roofs and tore down power lines in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Wednesday, and another twister damaged homes in Texas as severe weather struck the South.

No deaths or injuries were reported in the EF-2 tornadoes that hit Lake Charles and Port Arthur, Texas, on Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service said.

In Lake Charles, a city of 84,000 in the southwestern part of the state, the tornado traveled for about a mile beginning at 6:38 a.m., the weather service said . The roof of the Moss Memorial Health Complex was damaged, and other roofs were destroyed.

storm aftermath damage rubble destruction

In Port Arthur, another EF-2 tornado around 300 yards wide traveled more than 2 miles, damaging homes and ripping down trees, the weather servi c e said .

“It was pretty bad,” Michelle Viator, of Lake Charles, told NBC affiliate KPLC . “I mean, everything’s down.”

Viator’s home was damaged, and a family down her street who have two children were trapped by the damage to their home, Viator told the station in Lake Charles.

On Tuesday, heavy rain, hail and high winds hit Mississippi and other Southern states.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced Wednesday that there had been one weather-related death in his state, in Scott County, and an injury in Grenada County.

“Please pray for them and their families during this difficult time,” Reeves said on X .

He said preliminary information was that 72 homes were damaged or destroyed in Grenada, Hinds, Marshall, Scott, Warren and Yazoo counties.

More than 4 inches of rain fell in Hinds County, Mississippi, and more than 5 inches fell in Holmes, Rankin and Sharkey counties, the weather service in Jackson said.

In New Orleans, streets flooded Wednesday. A flash flood emergency had been declared for the metro area, and the weather service there warned residents "DO NOT DRIVE right now!" New Orleans police showed images of inundated roads and urged people to avoid flooded areas.

St. Tammany Parish, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain across from New Orleans, shared video of destruction, including downed trees and destroyed houses and buildings, amid heavy rain.

The National Weather Service said it found damage consistent with an EF-1 tornado in Slidell near Old Spanish Trail, but it said more storm surveys would be needed to determine the path, length and wind speeds.

An EF-1 tornado also struck the Houston suburb of Katy early Wednesday with 90 mph maximum winds, officials said. While the damage survey is still ongoing, it’s consistent with an EF-1 tornado, Jeff Evans of the National Weather Service Office in Houston/Galveston told reporters.

There were more than 90 storm reports Tuesday, including reports of hail as large as 4.25 inches in diameter across Texas.

Jasper, Texas, marked 7.58 inches of rain, and 7.38 inches were clocked in Marshall, Texas, along with 7.22 inches at Big Sunflower River in Holly Bluff, Mississippi, and 6.24 inches in Monroe, Louisiana. In Kirbyville, Texas, Pin Oak Creek rose 10 feet in less than six hours.

A disaster declaration was issued for Jasper County, Texas, which includes Kirbyville, on Wednesday. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said the city “remains under water” Wednesday morning and rescue teams have extricated “several” people out of vehicles and homes.

By Wednesday evening, high wind advisories covered much of the South. In Birmingham, Alabama, forecasters said there could be 45 mph wind gusts, and the advisory there lasted until 7 a.m. Thursday.

Tornado watches covered an area of the Florida Panhandle and southwestern Georgia at 6:45 p.m. ET.

Around 136,000 customers across Louisiana remained without power Wednesday evening, according to the tracking website poweroutage.us .

Severe risk continues Thursday for the Ohio Valley, the Southeast and northern Florida. Thursday’s risks are lower than Wednesday’s, but all hazards will be possible for Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Tampa and other cities in Florida for the southern risk area and for Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh across the northern risk area.
