A great trip, lots of varied and interesting activities, fantastic scenery, a suberb leader, Matish, a small friendly group from 5 different countries, good weather most of the way. All the hotels were comfortable and very clean, some were excellent. I felt safe everywhere, even on my own after the trip. The local people were friendly and welcoming everywhere. I would love to come back to Sri Lanka some day.

Lifetime Experience In Sri Lanka

We had the most amazing time and were pleasantly surprised. We booked a private tour that was 8 days long and we added 4 more days in Hikkaduwa to our vacation to relax. Bh Lanka tours were very helpful as they took care of everything including booking our hotel for the extra 4 days and our transfer to the airport. The only thing we had to book ourselves were the flights. It was such a great experience as we didn‘t have to worry about anything, we only had to come along and have fun. We definitely recommend upgrading to a private tour as it is a lot easier to adjust the tour and be spontaneous. Our Guide Chinthaka was the absolute best and we had an amazing time with him. He spoke great english so communication was easy and we learned a lot about Sri Lanka during our tour. He made sure that everything went smoothly, gave helpful tips, found nice places for lunch when we were hungry and even stopped a few times on street markets to let us try red bananas, coconuts, guava and buffalo curd (all tasted amazing by the way, defintely recommend trying the buffalo curd!). He spontaneously adjusted our tour, because we decided against the city tour in Colombo on our last day and showed us other interesting things in the area before driving us to our hotel in Hikkaduwa. He was so kind, always up for a joke and he could answer all our questions. Best tourguide ever! We also had a driver, Lalit. He drove super safely and was also a very kind guy. The tour is pretty packed, if you do all the optional activities, but they are definitely worth it. You get to explore the most important and interesting places in a pretty short time. Still, we had enough time for every activity. You do have to be aware that you will leave your hotel in the morning and won‘t return until maybe 6 or 7 pm, sometimes a little sooner. That is why we added a few relax days at the end and we recommend doing the same. That was the perfect combination. The hotels were all super nice, the food at the hotel in Nuwara Eliya and in Weligama wasn‘t very good but the rest was amazing. Our favorite activities were the Safari in the Yala National Park, the Sigirya, the lunch at the farmers house and the train ride to Ella… it’s very hard to name favorites as all our activities were special and we loved every bit of it. We were also very lucky as the weather was great throughout our entire stay. In general we absolutely fell in love with this beautiful country, the kind people, the animals, the insane sunsets and the fabulous food and we were so happy with our bh lanka tour. We will absolutely do this again sometime and definitely recommend this to everyone. The company organized everything really well and Chinthaka and Lalit were the perfect duo. They took great care of us and it felt more like travelling with a friend that shows you their homecountry than travelling with a guide and it was really good to have someone with you that knows the customs and can translate for you. We can‘t wait to return sometime in the future!

Grand Tour Of Sri Lanka

The whole tour was great - especially as BH Lanka had arranged fine sunny weather for us every day. All of the sites we visited were lovely and the hotels were all clean, well run and had A/C. Most had pools and the meal standard was very good. The guide and driver that we had (Chinthaka and Lalaith) were great, they knew the roads well and traversed them safely, kept us entertained and explained every query that we had; They also endeavored to get us to the next hotel in time to relax a bit before dinner and ensured that we were well looked after by the staff. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Sri Lanka on a guided tour.

This was a great tour for a quick glance of Sri Lanka. The tour has is a little high paced, but it has a good balance of different activities, travel modes, and free time. Includes all the must see highlights and leaves enough room to explore on your own.

There were many parts of the tour I really liked and enjoyed. I believe some areas could be improved. Overall I enjoyed the tour! One suggestion is to change the wording on your website as it was misleading (this goes for tour radar too). Generally, the hotels were perfect! There were two in particular that myself and the other family didn’t like/enjoy. They were the hotel in Ella and the one in Nuwara Eliya. After a long day it would have been nice to have a hotel with a pool (if possible) in Ella. The English village in Nuwara Eliya was a little strange and dirty, my room didn’t smell nice (the whole village was empty and if I was travelling by myself, I would have booked myself into a different hotel). It was also very far from the town. The car was comfortable and we always left on time, I also liked the range of activities provided. Communicate best you can in relation to tickets for the train. We got very lucky as a staff member on the train saw the young child who was travelling with us and moved us to a separate carriage. I think if I was stuck standing in third class for the entire journey the experience would have been completely different and I would have opted to drive instead. Please explain this to future customers.

I highly recommend using ASY Tours. We used this service for a 14 day trip road trip from Colombo to Sigiriya, Nuwara Eliya, Ella and Mirissa. We would never have been able to see so much in such a short space of time without the help of our driver, Tharindu. He has expert knowledge about the culture and history of Sri Lanka and knows all the best local places to eat and shop. He is extremely easy going and a pleasure to be around. When to travel to Sri Lanka?

The island has two main monsoon seasons, one in the northeast, the other in the southwest. When the northeastern monsoon blows, the southwestern side experiences peak weather and vice versa. The southwest monsoon brings rain from May to September, beginning with a month of heavy rain, followed by shorter showers. The northeastern monsoon usually blows in from the Bay of Bengal from November to March. October and November can bring thunderstorms anywhere in the country, but as most days are sunny and humid, bursts of heavy rain bring welcome freshness. The southern coastal regions experience the warmest temperatures with Colombo averaging 27°C (81°F). In the central highlands, temperatures are noticeably cooler and nights can be chilly. Kandy averages 20°C (68°F) while Nuwara Eliya averages 16°C (61°F).

Know before travelling to Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is five and a half hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time in winter, and four and a half hours ahead in summer.

Passports and visas

Travellers from all countries, apart from the Maldives, Seychelles and Singapore, require a visa to enter Sri Lanka. Visas can be obtained online before arrival at www.eta.gov.lk , or at the airport on arrival. Tourist visas are valid for 30 days and for two entries. Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months after the date of arrival.

Sri Lanka uses the Sri Lankan rupee. Most upmarket hotels, restaurants and shops accept credit cards. Visa and MasterCard are the most widely accepted. There are numerous ATMs across the island that accept foreign Visa and/or MasterCards. All towns of any consequence will have at least one, while in cities many more are available.
