There’s many ways you can convey that your brand is a globalized, internationally acclaimed business. But the most visible and instant step you can do to achieve this goal is to design a travel-inspired logo. Think airplanes, luggages, airports, palm trees, map pins, globe, cameras — all these are ubiquitous, well-known symbols about the travel industry. If you are a company that is involved in the tourism industry, say airlines, travel agencies, and hotels, then a professional-grade Travel logo speaks volumes for the brand.
Here’s how you can do it cheaply and fast. First, turn to beginner-friendly DIY tools for logo designs such as BrandCrowd’s travel logo maker. Inspire yourself with thousands of available templates. You can pick trip and vacation logo inspiration from here then jump to other well-known tools such as Photoshop. Or you could stick to a template and redesign it yourself. How? Well, BrandCrowd offers tools for newbie and intermediate logo designers. Just pick a template and change some of the elements by choosing the provided shapes, icons, fonts, and layout. By the end of it, you’ll be surprised by how the template has changed.
Make your brand more adventure -packed with some inexpensive if not free logos from BrandCrowd’s travel logo maker. And if the logo is not enough to convey a vacation-related business, then you can design other marketing materials such as Instagram and Facebook posts and business cards right on the platform.

50 Travel Logo Ideas To Brand Your Travel Business
The travel and tourism sector is huge and incredibly diverse in its industries and operators, generating about US$1.6 trillion in 2017 in the USA. Companies big and small are reinventing their offering to attract tourist and traveler dollars -whether it's travel gear or experiences you're selling, how does your business stand out from the rest?
If you're a 1-person show like a tour guide, travel blogger , vlogger, photographer or travel app developer, you can legitimize your side hustle with a professional logo. For established businesses like hotels, tour/cruise operators, accommodation owners or vehicle rental companies, rebranding your business creates new opportunities for growth and to reconnect with customers and suppliers.
A logo is the face of your business, and it's how customers recognize your business from competitors. Developing a strong visual identity for your brand will help your business stand out in the travel industry. It will be used everywhere - from your website, social media channels to flyers, business cards and signage - to promote your business. We've curated a list of 50 travel logo ideas that show the diversity of logos from luxury brands to travel startups and small businesses who are reinventing their offering for a new generation of travellers.
01. Travel Logos Featuring People
If you're a travel blogger or photographer or private tour guide you could leverage your personality in the design. Humans/character logos work really well for You Tube vloggers or any travel-related business with only one point person (usually the owner).
Some travel logos feature people in various activities like camping or hiking. Some designs could be specific for the brand's target audience like cameras for photographers. Other designs are fun and quirky by a person's face and adding some peculiar details like a moon or a pin.
02. Logo Ideas Featuring Vessels and Transportation
The journey can often be as pleasureable as arriving at your destination. In this set of travel logos we focus on logos featuring airplanes, wings, cars/buses, boat logos and ships.
03. Logo Ideas Using Globes, Maps, Compass Icons
Some logo designs feature some traveling tools such as a map or a compass to highlight a location or logistics expertise. These are a favorite for travel bloggers offering tips or travel companies offering tours for a specific travel destination. Some designs entwine these symbols with other fun details to give them a bright mood.
04. Refreshing Logo Ideas Featuring Nature, Sun and the Sea!
If you're a business operating in a popular beach destination, than your logo could feature (the beach or mountain that tourists are coming to see. If a customer is scrolling through instagram and click on one of your images, seeing a profesional logo as your profile pic and your contact details will encourage them to contact you.
Often these designs are bright and colorful, in text and colors, enticing target consumers to try their brand. Most designers love to feature landscapes of tropical islands (showing palm trees and the beach and the sun ) as it emphasise the laidback and relaxing vibe travelers generally want when they go on vacation.
A excellent travel logo will do wonders for your business!
Wondering where to get a high quality logo for your travel business?
Whether you're operating a wine tour business in Sonoma (California), a bungee jump business in Queens Town (New Zealand) or a safari tour business in Tanzania, a professional logo is one of the most important designs decisions you'll make for your business. We recommend two options:
1. Try crowdsourcing your logo design on DesignCrowd where you can hire a professional graphic designer from DesignCrowd’s talented community of freelancers. A professional logo designer can create your custom travel logo or work with a crowd of designers to see heaps of logo ideas.

Whether you are an expert or not, here are some steps to follow that will help you create a travel logo. First, analyze your business and products. What are your strengths, weaknesses, and values? Never forget that you are creating a travel logo for your business, not for a competitor. Finding the perfect icon when creating a travel logo is essential, especially if you decide to make a combination mark or emblem logo. There are thousands of available icons on FreeLogoDesign to help you. When creating your travel logo with our logo maker, click on the Add an icon button to begin searching. If you need high resolution or vector files, please note that you can also purchase one of our premium plans or add-ons: business card templates, brand guide, email signature, invoices.
What should be the main color of your new logo? Choosing the right colors for your travel logo can be challenging. Your brand image components of a logo are significant as they could impact the first impression someone has of your business. Selecting the right colors can make a huge difference in how people perceive your brand since every color has a specific meaning. People only need a few milliseconds to have an opinion on your business when they look at your travel logo. You must then ensure that your logo stands out from the competition while remaining representative of your field and values. If you want to know more and make an informed choice, take a look at FreeLogoDesign’s page on the meaning of the colors.

UNCHARTED COLLECTION
When I see a word uncharted and related to a journey, I imagined "adventure" and especially for this industry, an adventure in a luxurious way. This logo has a dual meaning. First of all, the icon represents a compass arrow facing up but as a puzzle, this puzzled arrow shape needs to be put together. This concept represents "adventures and challenges". And the second meaning represents a subtle image of a sailboat in an abstract way to represents the journey. So when someone asks... "What's the meaning of the logo?" you can simply say... an adventure in a luxurious way! UC specializes in the booking of high-end sailing yachts in the Caribbean for traveling and adventure.
BAREFOOT STAYS
I have a Short term rental business. I do direct booking along with Airbnb and VRBO platform advertising. I rent home mostly in Smoky mountain Tennessee and also on the beach in Florida. I choose the name as it is a play on being barefeet on the beach but also a BEAR's foot, since Smoky mountains are known for black bears. I target a wide audience, mostly families with kids. Women book the stays mostly. Mostly target all of the US but mostly south and eastern US.
Vintage plane for travel agency

Announcing the Hot List Winners of 2024
By CNT Editors
It’s inevitable: Every spring when we pull together the Hot List , our annual collection of the world’s best new hotels, restaurants , and cruise ships , a staffer remarks that this latest iteration has got to be the best one ever. After a year’s worth of traveling the globe—to stay the night at a converted farmhouse in the middle of an olive grove outside Marrakech, or sail aboard a beloved cruise line’s inaugural Antarctic voyage—it’s easy to see why we get attached. But this year’s Hot List, our 28th edition, might really be the best one ever. It’s certainly our most diverse, featuring not only a hotel suite that was once Winston Churchill’s office, but also the world’s largest cruise ship and restaurants from Cape Town to Bali. We were surprised and inspired by this year’s honorees, and we know you will be too. These are the Hot List hotel winners for 2024.

A Gen Xer who got $250,000 in student loans forgiven said he can now finally start saving for retirement — and consider his dream of studying in India
- Joel Lambdin, 49, received $250,000 in student-loan forgiveness in January.
- It's a result of the Education Department's one-time account adjustments.
- Lambdin said the relief would allow him to save for retirement and consider long-term dreams.
Joel Lambdin finished graduate school in 1998 — but as a professional musician, he was hardly making enough money to pay off his student loans and other bills.
So Lambdin, now 49, said his only option to make ends meet was to put his student loans in forbearance — in which he was not making payments but interest was still accumulating .
"It was just so that I could subsist, so that I could survive," Lambdin told Business Insider. "With the hope that at some point, I would be making enough money that I would be able to take them out of forbearance and start paying them down."
But he grew to realize that the only way he could make a significant dent in his student loans was by switching careers. He didn't want to do that because he loved working in music, so he decided to keep his larger student loan in forbearance and begin paying off his smaller loan with a lower monthly payment.
He continued making those payments until the pandemic pause on student-loan payments , at which point he and his wife started making a plan of action to tackle the larger debt once the pause ended. That led them to discover the Education Department's initiative allowing some borrowers a one-time account adjustment . It lets the department evaluate borrowers' accounts and update payment progress toward forgiveness on income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, including any payments made during a forbearance period.
That account adjustment led to a letter Lambdin received on January 31, reviewed by BI, from his student-loan servicer Aidvantage. It said: "Congratulations! The Biden-Harris Administration has forgiven your federal student loan(s) listed below with Aidvantage in full."
For Lambdin, that letter meant his $249,255 outstanding student-loan balance was effectively wiped out.
"It had started to feel like my fate was being decided for me by the cold hand of finance," Lambdin said, "and that was a weight that I didn't realize was there until it wasn't there."
He added: "The feeling was much more like putting down a backpack that was really full of books that you got used to. And then you put it down, and you're like, 'Oh, man, that feels so much better.' It's more like that, rather than sort of a jump-for-joy kind of situation."
While Lambdin is still working to determine what exactly the relief will mean for him and his wife, he said, discussing retirement is "a much more present conversation now" because contributing to savings is viable after the relief. He can also begin to look into buying a home.
Related stories
The Education Department continues to cancel student debt through its one-time account adjustments, a process it plans to complete this summer. Most recently, the department wiped out $7.4 billion in student debt for 277,000 borrowers , some of whom benefited from the adjustments.
Beyond financial goals, Lambdin said the relief was also allowing him the freedom to pursue some of his long-term dreams, including taking a sabbatical to study with his meditation teacher in India.
"It's something that I wouldn't have been able to even consider doing if we had to pay off student loans, but without them, it's something that I can really seriously consider doing," he said. "And so those are the kinds of things that I think get really lost in the monetary side of the conversation about debt relief."
'I've been really lucky'
While Lambdin said he felt as though he earned the relief given his decades of payments, he recognized that it's not that easy for many other borrowers.
For example, as BI has previously reported , some borrowers who might qualify for relief through different repayment programs may not have gotten it yet because of paperwork backlogs and administrative errors. On top of that, funding for federal student-loan servicers is strained — meaning many borrowers face hourslong hold times and cannot get clear answers from customer service regarding their payment progress.
"There are some real horror stories out there, and I've been really lucky in that I haven't experienced the kinds of shenanigans that other people have experienced," Lambdin said. "So I actually feel very lucky that things have transpired the way they have."
Some of those horror stories include inaccurate payment projections and delayed billing statements . When it comes to student-loan forgiveness, some borrowers told BI that their servicer made a mistake with the forgiveness , reinstating their payments months later.
The Education Department has said it's aware of the challenges borrowers face and has established an accountability framework to punish servicers when they fail to fulfill their contractual obligations.
The department is also in the process of crafting its new plan for student-loan forgiveness — it recently released the draft text of the rules , which included relief for borrowers with unpaid interest and those who have been in repayment for at least 20 years.
As for Lambdin, he's still figuring out how to approach life without student debt hanging over his head. But now he can consider various options, and he can thank the loan forgiveness for that freedom.
"There's a certain amount of waiting for the other shoe to drop because it's not that I don't trust that it's happening but just that the debt has been with me for so long, and then it's not there," Lambdin said. "And it's something that I think really takes some getting used to."

How Bangalore became the Silicon Valley of India
The technology hub of the subcontinent is young, upwardly mobile and talking up the future – yet cows still roam the streets
Sitting under the ceiling fans in Koshy’s Restaurant, a fixture in this city since 1952, it felt as though nothing had changed. White-uniformed waiters with silver buttons on their tunics attended to elderly customers in pressed shirts.
Even the items on the menu seemed like artefacts from a different era – cream of vegetable soup, pineapple steak and onions, glazed mutton. They harked back to the years after Indian independence, when Queen Elizabeth and Jawaharlal Nehru visited Koshy’s – at least according to the menu – and Bangalore was a leafy, temperate city of 750,000 people, loved in particular by middle-class retirees.
I first came to Koshy’s in 2006. By then, Bangalore was the centre of an extraordinary economic boom that was transforming India. The city had swollen to six million people, drawn by its expanding IT industry.
I was working on a screenplay – finished, but never produced – set in one of the city’s call centres. It struck me as an extraordinary moment. An old India, sluggish, bureaucratic, poor, conservative, religious, was being modernised at incredible speed.
In 2006 I visited a charity school which educated children from Bangalore’s slums. One classroom was full of the children of snake-charmers – really a form of pest control in India. The snake-charmers were all unemployed because the vast amount of construction in the city had scared the snakes away. Every child in the class wanted to become a software engineer.
I went to inbound call centres where young employees were studying the movies Notting Hill and Bridget Jones’s Diary to tune their ears to British accents. They might spend their days in a traditional Hindu home where arranged marriage was the norm, but at night they answered phones under assumed western names, trying to assist callers whose lifestyles were totally alien to them.
The training they got included lessons on British culture. I jotted these words of wisdom down from one of the so-called soft-skilled trainers I met then: “The Brits take a lot of time to open up. They’re very commanding. Once they get irate they can’t calm down. They don’t like Americans, or even if you mention America.”
The gleaming, air-conditioned campuses where the young employees worked seemed like evidence that India was changing irrevocably. Coming back 18 years later, I wondered if I would recognise anything.
First of all, it’s no longer Bangalore. The old name has been retired – not completely, people still default to it in conversation – but Bengaluru is the official one. It’s now a megalopolis of at least 13 million people. It has a new metro system. And the new airport, opened last year, is an architectural masterpiece. Billed as an airport in a garden, it’s full of living walls, plants and giant hanging baskets.
I had flown in on one of Virgin Atlantic’s inaugural direct flights from Heathrow. These daily flights, which link up with onward routes to San Francisco and beyond, are further evidence of the city’s economic clout.
Arriving at night, driving from the airport on the elevated highway to my hotel, I didn’t see a single autorickshaw. In the distance, there was a row of shiny tower-blocks and a new luxury shopping centre – the Phoenix Mall of Asia – that wouldn’t look out of place in Dubai . We were headed to the Leela Palace Hotel, a five-star Indo-Saracenic behemoth built on the edge of the city.
Although it looks like a palace, the Leela is not in fact much older than Bengaluru’s economic boom. Opened in 2001, it’s vast and opulent, with an army of solicitous staff, a spa, a pool – and even a Tokyo-themed speakeasy in the basement which is said to be the sixth best bar in India. I can’t comment on that, because I was turned away for wearing flip-flops.
Flip flops, however, were no obstacle to my enjoying a club sandwich and a non-alcoholic cocktail in the Library Bar – named for its library of rare spirits – under an enormous alabaster light-fitting as big as my car.
It was the Leela Palace Hotel that in 2009 hosted the wedding reception of our current Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak and his bride Akshata Murthy . I rather wish I’d had my wedding reception at the Leela Palace. Unfortunately, my in-laws didn’t have such deep pockets as Mr Sunak’s.
Ms Murthy is the daughter of NR Narayana Murthy, one of the superstars of Bengaluru’s software boom – a multibillionaire businessman who co-founded the tech company Infosys.
It’s hard to overstate the impact of the software industry on India. In 2021, India earned more from software exports than Saudi Arabia did from exporting oil: $178 billion dollars. Thanks in large part to India’s tech industry, an economy that was for decades regarded as a basket case is now the fifth largest in the world.
By the time I ventured out of the hotel, I was expecting to find a subcontinental version of Miami: palm-trees and flyovers, maybe even some bold tech-entrepreneurs commuting to work with jet-packs. Imagine my surprise when I was plunged into a very familiar world of dusty streets, honking autorickshaws, women passengers in shalwar kameez, riding side-saddle on overloaded motorcycles, chai sellers and even cows wandering occasionally through the traffic.
But even this familiar-looking India wasn’t quite the same. I was able to use Uber to hail an autorickshaw. A driver called Naveen took me to Khoshy’s for 86 rupees – less than a pound. It felt in some ways a lot like the old India – just better. There was still the thrill of zooming through the streets, but there was no haggling over the price, no worrying about unexpected side-quests to a relative’s curio shop, and no arguing over whether the notes I was paying with were torn or dirty. Naveen’s rickshaw was one of the newest models, powered by compressed natural gas and running much cleaner than the old diesel ones.
Of course, the huge growth of Bengaluru has brought problems. The traffic is a nightmare. The sleepy charm of the city, the carefully managed greenery that shades the streets, and the municipal water supply are all under strain. But there’s something intoxicating about Bengaluru’s energy and the strange contrasts between the new India and the India that hasn’t changed at all.
On a walking tour of Krishnarajendra Market, I watched a man sitting half-lotus in a cubby-hole painstakingly threading tuberose blossoms onto a string to make garlands. Up the road at the 300 year old Shree Kore Venkataramana Temple, sacred to Vishnu, there was a bare-chested priest performing a holy ritual – and a QR code for electronic donations.
In a microbrewery called Toit, I watched local tech bros sampling the range of craft ales. Up the road from Khoshy’s, a sign outside the Lit gastropub advised me to “Head inside coz it’s gonna be Lit tonight”. I fell in step behind a young man on a phone who was saying loudly: “We’re going to invest more money in this specific sector and rethink our overall approach”. In Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, an oasis of green first laid out in the 18th century with fountains and a glasshouse, there were courting couples, families and Instagrammers posting content for their followers.
Riding the metro – clean, cheap, fast – I fell into conversation with a young entrepreneur called Clinton Baptist. He owed his unusual surname to a Goan ancestor. He was dressed in the uniform of today’s global citizens: jeans, a plaid shirt, sneakers and back-pack, and he carried a business plan in a roll of paper like a treasure map.
Like many new arrivals to the city, he’d been drawn there in the hope of finding start-up capital to launch his business and replicating the success of the founders of Infosys. Clinton’s big idea was to use Artificial Intelligence to transform India’s education system. He talked passionately about AI and how we stood at a historic moment, comparable to the birth of the internet or the Industrial Revolution.
He was on his way to a place where he liked to sit and brainstorm. It turned out to be an independent cafe-bookshop, called Champaca, overlooking a garden. The tables were full of young Bangaloreans working on tablets and laptops. Despite opening just before the pandemic, the bookstore’s founder, Radhika Timbadia, had found a devoted clientele and strong demand for her carefully curated selection of novels and non-fiction books.
Champaca would be an ornament to any neighbourhood. It was calm and, as Clinton had promised, conducive to work and brainstorming. Its youthful customers drank kombucha as they read or chatted or put the finishing touches to business proposals.
Champaca was also a reminder that India is a country of the young . Half of its 1.4 billion population is under 30. And whereas in the past ambitious young citizens had to move abroad to chase their dreams, today’s Bengaluru represents a home-grown promised land.
The Leela Palace Hotel Bengaluru (00 91 80 2521 1234; theleela.com ) has doubles from £206 per night. Virgin ( virginatlantic.com ) flies from London Heathrow to Bengaluru from £499 return.

Hands-on: The best iOS features to upgrade your travel experience [Video]
I was recently lucky enough to go on a great vacation where we spent eight days traveling across Europe. One of the things I noticed was just how helpful my iPhone was throughout this experience. Yes, we all know that we can use maps to help us navigate new cities and geographies. But did you know that you could convert currencies directly in the Notes or iMessage apps? Or that you could create a shared library so everyone on the trip can see all the pictures you took. I found over 25 iOS features that are specifically built into iOS to enhance and make your travels easier.
Check out our video below for a hands-on look and walkthrough of all the features mentioned!
Translation in iOS
Translation has to be one of the most important aspects of travel. We spent time in both Belgium and the Netherlands, and while there are many English-speaking people, it is great to quickly look up what certain words or phrases mean. Locals seem to appreciate that.
Now yes, Apple has created a dedicated iOS app called Translate that, by default, is on your phone. It’s extremely robust. It allows you to look up words and phrases quickly, you can use text or voice, and it even has a live conversational aspect to it. But the beauty of translation is that it is built in throughout all of your Apps in iOS
You can write out full paragraphs in iMessage and translate them to another language and send it off. You can take a picture of a sign and use Visual Look up to translate the text in your photos app and so much more. Watch our video above to see how it all works!
Currency & unit converters
Unless you are one of the few countries that uses the imperial system of measurement, you will need a unit converter to go from miles to kilometers, ounces to grams, or gallons to liters. Just like the translation app, there are currency and unit converters built right into you iPhone in most of its applications. For example, if someone sends you an iMessage to buy 2 kilograms worth of chicken, that unit of measure will be underlined. You can then long press it, and it will convert it to pounds and ounces right away so there is no discrepancy.
This is true of pretty much any unit of measure. Your iPhone can convert currencies in real time, it can convert temperature values and different units of measure as I mentioned. This works across all of your native Apple apps. You can use it in the Notes app, in iMessage, when taking a photo and so much more. This was a big save when I was ordering a steak at dinner and it was a grams!
Flight tracking
Similar to how the conversion works, you can also track flights in real-time in the same way. Now, this is very simple and gives you basic information. There are other apps like Flight Tracker and Flighty that allow you to create accounts, track the history of flights, and see airport data. But if you just want to get real-time info on when your plane is leaving, how far along the flight it is, and any delay information, all you need is your iPhone. If you are picking someone up from the airport, all they have to do is send you their flight number and, again, iMessage will underline that flight number and allow you to view the flight data and all the information needed!
Shared audio
Shared audio might have been our most used during the trip. My wife and I took two flights and seven trains during our travels. So to pass the time we wanted to watch movies or shows together on my iPad. Yes, we could have shared one AirPod each, and that would have been fine. But we both have a pair of AirPods Pro. This is where the Apple ecosystem magic comes into play. Apple products have a feature called Shared Audio, which does exactly what you think. It syncs audio to two different pairs of headsets where the audio source is coming from one device.
To set this up:
- Bring the other person’s AirPods close to your device.
- Open the Airpods Case
- The iPhone will ask if you want to connect the other person’s AirPods
- Boom, you are connected to someone else’s AirPods while being connected to yours as well
The other travel features
As I said, there are over 25 different iOS features that are built in to make your life easier when to comes to travel. Of course, other apps provide more features, but the ones that are built right into your phone are more than enough to help you get around a foreign country. From landmark visual look-ups to transit info in maps to shared notes to help keep itineraries between multiple people. Be sure to watch our video here to get a hands-on tutorial on how to get these features working for you!
What is your favorite iOS feature that no one talks about? Lets discuss in the comments below!
