What is Flash Pack?

Founded in 2014 by Radha Vyes and Lee Thompson,  Flash Pack  is an adventure travel company geared towards solo travelers in their 30s and 40s. It aims to bring like-minded travelers together through its guided group tours for destinations worldwide.

Creating a "group dynamic" that connects travelers is at the company's heart, and each group has no more than 14 members. Flash Pack offers a combination of backpacking and luxury travel experience, making it more expensive than its alternatives in the market.

What are the trip types offered by Flash Pack?

At present, Flash Pack offers trips to the following destinations.

  • Asia: Bali, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam
  • Africa: Morocco, South Africa, and Tanzania
  • Europe: Croatia, Finland, Iceland, and  Turkey
  • The Americas: Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica ,  Mexico , and Peru

The trip types are categorized as Beach Holidays, City Breaks, Escape the Crowds, Most Active, Wellness, Wildlife, and Winter Escapes. There are also long-haul trips and short breaks that travelers can choose from based on their expected duration of the vacation.

How does Flash Pack work?

You can visit the Flash Pack website and browse the tours they offer. If you can't decide for yourself, you can always contact their Travel Advisors, explain your preferences, and get recommendations from them.

Once you have picked the tour, it's a matter of selecting the date and making a deposit to reserve your place in the group. Flash Pack will get back to you, ideally within 24 hours, confirming your booking with the local team.

Flash Pack assigns a Trip Expert to you for help. You can clarify your doubts or questions regarding the trip and get tailormade travel advice from them. In the meantime, get your flights and travel insurance sorted.

Before a month, Flash Pack provides travelers with login details for the Flash Pack app to update you on the latest travel information and tips. Two weeks prior, you will join the WhatsApp Group to get to know fellow travelers in your group. Then, it's time you start packing !

Flash Pack home landing page.

What is included in a Flash Pack tour?

Flash Pack covers the cost of accommodation, all experiences/activities in the itinerary, and some meals. In addition, airport transfers will be provided too.

You have to book flights and obtain  travel insurance  at your own cost. You should also carry money to spend on meals, shopping, and other events not included in the trip. An expert local guide will accompany the group throughout the tour.

Flash Pack really takes the lodging it provides to travelers seriously. They pick 3-5 star rated accommodation choices, usually high-end boutique hotels, for a comfortable and luxury experience. Depending on the destination, you can also expect treehouses, ice domes, and other  unique types of accommodations .

Usually, you will have to share a twin room with a fellow traveler. In some instances, you will be provided with a single room, depending on the selected accommodation. But, you can always request a private room throughout the trip at an extra cost.

What we liked about Flash pack

  • Unique experiences

Flash Pack offers activities that wouldn't be possible if you travel independently. Some examples of hiking through a secret route into Jordan Petra, wrestling with a Luchador, or staying on a private island. Many past customers say that Flash Pack tours offer value for money, covering both off-the-beaten-path and popular tourist spots.

  • The age group

Most adventure travel companies cap the age limit to 30s. Although older people might join them, there's a high chance they would feel left out when touring with people much younger than them. Flash Pack bridges the market gap by catering to those aged 30-50. They consider your age when grouping travelers to create a good bond – a factor they take very seriously.

  • Organization

Many Flash Pack reviews highlighted that the trips were well organized to provide travelers with a seamless experience. Their itineraries usually go at a good pace, so you won't feel rushed. They are renowned for arranging quality accommodation, comfortable transport facilities, and good meals.

The guides are usually very knowledgeable and fun company! They will explain the facts and stories related to the attractions, help resolve issues you face, and provide helpful travel advice. If you plan on extending your stay, Flash Pack and its local guides will help you with tips and recommendations. Even the customer support is prompt and responsive to help you before and during the trip.

Flash Pack about your trip preview.

What's not so great about Flash Pack

  • Price of tours

With the guarantee of quality and comfort comes a heavy price tag. Flash Pack tours are a bit more expensive compared to other tour company alternatives. For example, a 9-day Costa Rica adventure costs $3495 whereas, in  G-Adventures , 9-day Costa Rica tours come under $2000.

However, there are differences in group size, experience, and quality of accommodation between the two. So, if you are a budget traveler, Flash Pack may not be the best choice for you.

  • Refund and cancellation policy

Many customers had a terrible ordeal trying to contact the customer support team to claim refunds for their canceled trips during the global pandemic. Initially, Flash Pack has failed to provide refunds and instead offered a reschedule with a trip dating one year from the originally booked date. The customers, however, didn't like it.

Some reviews state that it was against Flash Pack's initial terms and conditions that promised a refund in the event of a cancellation from the company's end.

Flash Pack's bankruptcy

The leading cause for the refund issue was that Flash Pack was heading into bankruptcy due to Covid-19. When the pandemic hit, the start-up was still trying to make a considerable profit. They nearly went into liquidation, but they have relaunched the company recently, thanks to some investors. So, the Flash Pack you see today is a rebranded company starting anew with the same principles as before!

Guided backpacking and group tour.

Is Flash Pack worth it?

Overall, we think Flash Pack is a great company, and they offer quality and meaningful travel experiences. We do recognize that the prices of their group travel might not be for the budget conscious, and given their past of unreliable refund/cancellation policy, it's more than reasonable to go with other group tours.

However, we believe that the new Flash Pack deserves a chance to continue serving travelers amazing experiences and make meaningful friendships!

Our Rating: 4.7/5

  • Caters to older travelers
  • Well organized tours
  • Good customer support
  • Quite expensive
  • Unreliable refund and cancellation policy

epic Jordan at Christmas

I went on my first ever trip away for Christmas and it was the BEST holiday EVER! Jordan is such a beautiful country, the itinerary is packed but perfect, you basically see the whole country within one week and each day seems better than the previous one. Fadi, our pack leader, was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about promoting everything Jordan, but also deeply interested in us, the Flashpackers. Our group was special because there were only 4 of us and it was Christmas, that added something extra as well. This was my second FP trip and will certainly not be my last. I have already booked next Christmas away and cannot wait! :D

First time Flash Packer in Bali

First time Flash Packer and it exceeded my expectations! The way Flash Pack combined travel with singular local experiences, giving back to small communities while using a local pack leader “Dika” to guide us through a unique experience was remarkable. This humble, knowledgeable, hardworking man took this trip to the next level! Add on the nice stays, ease of communication and attention to detail daily and this trip was once in a lifetime (hopefully it will become one of many in the future). I had a general image of Bali based on social media, everyone has just about the same experiences/photos. Going to a locals home for water purification offering/ceremony & having them cook for us; arriving at a seaweed farm ran in its most basic form in someone’s backyard in Penida; walking/hiking hills with no tourists while trying fruits with a local before arriving at a coconut oil making class. These are a few of many distinctive experiences that left a prominent impression on our group!

Bali was amazing

Bali was amazing! The tour guide Ayu ensured everyone had the best experience and did activities they were interested in. We did some cool things that I wouldn’t have got to do if I travelled alone such as visiting a Balinese family home and getting a blessing in their temple then having lunch with the family. The trip was very well organised and made travelling super easy! I will definitely travel with Flash Pack again!

Amazing Philippines …

Wow what an amazing trip to the Philippines spending Christmas & new year with 16 amazing people and an outstanding guide, Rupert. Rupert is an amazing guide who is knoweldgable, friendly, fun and goes above an beyond to make this trip special. one of the highlights of this trip was Camping on Ginto Island under the stars for two night. Albert, Bert and the other guides also made this part of the trip special as we celebrated Christmas on the island, it is one I won't forget! The rest of the trip is just as amazing from Island hopping in El Nido, yoga and paddle boarding in Loboc River to spending New Year at Bohol Beach club. Philippines I will be back 🇵🇭

Beautiful Philippines with incredible guide

Had a truly amazing trip to the Philippines with a great group of people (mostly 30 something’s). The guide (Rupert) was so amazing, looked after every detail, flexible, fun and made sure was individual had an amazing time. Beaches were stunning, we camped on a private island, snorkeled and swam. Rupert had great relationships with the teams at every hotel we visited and they went out of their way to look after us, ceviche / cocktail session was so much fun. If you’re going make sure to take reef shoes, dry bag and plenty of sun cream (expensive locally). I’d also encourage people to sign up for trips Rupert is leading, with Flashpack the guides can be a bit varied (which really makes / breaks the trip) and Rupert is the best.

Flash Pack has a lot of travel destinations with amazing itineraries. They were friendly and helpful from the moment I thought about booking and throughout the whole process. The trip was organised well and had a good range of activities to experience the culture and do some unique things. I will be booking again.

Recently returned from Sri Lanka - my 2nd FP trip, 1st was to Morocco. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and got to see lots of it. Our guide Razz was fantastic - he made the trip memorable in many ways. Super nice, patient, thoughtful, legit good guy, with lots of laughs. Highly recommended FP!

I traveled to Sri Lanka and was blown away

I traveled to Sri Lanka and was extremely fortunate to have Razz as our tour guide (and Ramli as a bonus tour guide in training). I felt safe and cared for every step of the way. I had so much fun getting to know my fellow flashpackers - through time spent in beautiful locations, on the tour bus, or relaxing at one of our exceptional hotels. I can be an anxious traveler and I really loved being able to relax and go with the flow because everything was planned so meticulously. It's such a luxury to be able to travel to a wonderful new country while also feeling like you're truly on vacation. I would 100% book with Flashpack again.

Alternative Thailand - 100% recommend

This was my first solo holiday and my first time travelling long haul (I’m scared of flying) and I would 100% recommend Flash Pack. The activities were great and I probably wouldn’t have done them if I went with my friends or completely on my own. It was very full on but worth it. Our pack leader Gong was amazing, he made the trip so special!! I made friends and we still keep in touch! I will be booking another flash pack trip soon

I recently returned from Sri Lanka (my third Flashpack) . We spent 12 days together as a group, including Xmas day, and I couldn't have hoped for a better group of people to spend the holidays with. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and we got to see so much of it - the itinerary was brilliant and our guide, Razz, went over and beyond our expectations and ensured we had a stress free trip. He was kind, patient and very much part of the group - we had such a laugh with him! The highlights for me were the safari and tea factory. If you're considering booking with Flashpack, I highly recommend them. (My previous trips were Bali and Japan - also incredible).

A Filipino Christmas with Flashpack

I've just returned from a Flashpack adventure in the Philippines where I spent Christmas and New Year with a brilliant group of travellers. The experience was incredible, from camping out under the stars, Island hopping to places that looked so perfect they didn't seem real and having a lot of fun on a quad bike and SUP! It was the perfect mix of activities at a good pace and we all had the opportunity for a little downtime. The group was led by Rupert (10/10) - kind, funny, enthusiastic and had the groups full confidence. I'd do it all over again!

Bucket List South Africa - not to be missed!

If you're looking for an adventure, Flash Pack does not disappoint. The Bucket List South Africa trip lives up to its name. The range of activities kept the trip exciting, sometimes challenging, yet still immersive in the culture and breadth of this beautiful country. Our tour leader Dylan was wonderful, bringing not only a wealth of local knowledge but also kindness and humor. He kept us organized and informed during our busy schedule. Overall, an incredible experience. Would absolutely travel again with Flash Pack or any of our fantastic group members.

Epic Sri Lanka Oct ‘23…

The guides on the Sri Lanka October ‘23 trip (Razz and Romli) were truly outstanding! They were well-prepared for each event with historical insights and personal stories that showed their deep affection for their home and helped me feel welcome and connected. We experienced such a variety of food, experiences, and places—from a folk songs on a farm in the rice country to a tea plantation in the mountains to a glamours club night on the beach—that I feel I got to know Sri Lanka very well. We even got stopped by a landslide at one point and our whole guide crew were instrumental in clearing away rocks and debris so we could get home! It was truly and adventure and many of us are still chatting, sharing stories of the journey home and treasuring the memories.

Colombia Flashpack

I just came back from the Colombia trip with Flashpack and I would highly recommend this trip! Oscar was a fantastic trip leader. He made everybody feel comfortable and he taught us so much. We all loved hanging out with him. He really cared about each and every individual in the group and he really made sure we were all having a good time. The actual trip itinerary was amazing. And the bonus was meeting people from around the world and creating lasting friendships. I would highly recommend the Colombia Flashpack trip!

Made my trip to Jordan

Made my trip to Jordan not just possible, but FANTASTIC! Our guide was amazing (his love of his country was profound, and he made sure we always felt comfortable and included) the accommodations were spectacular, and the itinerary blew my expectations out of the water. Best trip I have taken!

Bucket list South Africa

In October I travelled to South Africa with Flash Pack for the bucket list trip, it truly was a bucket list experience. From abseiling down table mountain, riding an e-bike around a winery to seeing the big five in Kruger park, the trip was fantastic. The group bonded very quickly and our guide Dylan helped to bring us together and get us where we needed to go. South Africa was an amazing experience and I would recommend this trip 100% ❤️❤️

South India adventure was the trip of a lifetime! Met the best people, while eating amazing meals in a stunning tropical backdrop. I loved traveling with Flashpack and will do so again!

Sri Lanka trip

My trip to Sri Lanka in November was epic! I throughly enjoyed myself and I felt I got to see the main highlights and beauty of this lush green country. My group were amazing and I really clicked with everyone. Suranga (Razz), our group leader was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, patient, kind and most importantly very sociable and friendly. Consider yourself very lucky to be travelling Sri Lanka with Razz! Sri Lanka is a MUST visit country and I highly recommend travelling with flashpack.

All females trip to Vietnam

I did my first FlashPack trip in Vietnam and the experience was amazing from beginning to end. Our tour guide Hoang was extremely professional, kind and funny and our group of 11 girls felt very safe the entire trip. His local stories and experiences were outstanding and truly made us feel like locals while still having fun. The itinerary was very well thought out and the perfect mix of activities and relaxing. The hotels were nice and in great locations. I can’t wait to plan my next FlashPack adventure!

Overall a great experience

Overall a great experience. Great accommodations and activities. Busy but did not feel rushed. Not a lot of "on your own" time which I appreciated as a solo traveler. Nut Dor best group leader I've had on any trip thus far. Would definitely use Flash Pack again!

This Solo Travel Company Is Back With 17 New Trips — From Tanzania's Wildebeest Migration to a Northern Lights Tour of Iceland

Sidelined for a year, the London-based tour company returns with new itineraries in Morocco, Croatia, Costa Rica, Finland, and Sri Lanka, among others.

flash pack travel reviews

After shuttering its business last November , Flash Pack is back with its trips specially designed for solo travelers in their 30s and 40s — and the 17 newly curated itineraries promise more meaningful and inspired experiences than ever.

"We have spent the last 12 months obsessing over details, pouring over customer feedback, data, and insights from our guides, and refining every single trip from the ground up," co-founder Lee Thompson told Travel + Leisure. "For our relaunch, we've refined our portfolio from 74 trips to 17 to allow us to focus on these details and ensure that every traveler experiences something truly special — and a little unexpected."

The relaunched company's new trips include short-break vacations of five days or less in Finland, Iceland , and Mexico City, as well as long-haul trips of eight to 12 days in Argentina, Bali, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Peru, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, and Vietnam.

"Our itineraries focus on delivering experiences that would either be very hard to do alone — such as hiking the secret backdoor to Petra in Jordan or having lunch with a sumo wrestler in Japan — or that would be too expensive — like staying on a private arctic island in Finland or sleeping in converted land rovers in the Serengeti in Tanzania and waking up for the greatest show on Earth," he added. "The best thing about group travel is that, not only do travelers get to meet a bunch of like-minded people, but it opens up so many opportunities that would be nearly impossible to do on your own."

Other highlights include the Argentina getaway with a candlelit dinner in a prehistoric cave in Patagonia and making your own wine in Mendoza, and the Iceland tour led by a Northern Lights photographer, which includes a freezing water immersion with a cold water therapy guru.

Thompson and fellow co-founder Radha Vyas came up with the idea on their first date in 2012. Two years later, the couple — who are now married — launched Flash Pack and began to connect travelers who had outgrown the lower-budget group tours geared toward 20-somethings, but also weren't quite ready for the often slower-paced vacations that were typically filled with travelers over the age of 50. Instead, these trips focus on bucket-list destinations with itineraries that mix both the adventurous spirit and luxurious touches. But at the core, the company is really about fostering friendships among travelers.

"We believe that adventure and travel are both powerful ingredients that help facilitate the creation of life-long friendships, and each of our trips has been specifically designed to build just that," Thompson said. "For example in South Africa , travelers abseil Table Mountain on day one, taking people out of their comfort zone in a shared experience [that] opens them up to these connections."

The pandemic downtime has brought that mission to to the forefront of these new itineraries. "While it's clear travel will bounce back in a huge way, we need meaningful connections more than ever," he told T+L, adding that 80 percent of past Flash Pack travelers keep in touch with their travelmates . Before the pause, the company created 50,000 friendships in just 2019.

"The pandemic has led to isolation and the feeling of loneliness," Thompson said. "So we are on a mission to create one million meaningful friendships across the globe."

flash pack travel reviews

Wondered if anyone had any experience to share of The Flash Pack travel company? I'm looking for a group tour to SE Asia and I really like their concept but want to do my research before booking. I've been on group tours with Intrepid and G Adventures before but keen to do something a bit different this time. Any information would be great.

Hi Natalie, as the company only started early this year feedback will be limited to none.

It seems he did a lot of research into travellers using social media so you may find some information on such sites.

I did a search of the TA forums and nothing has been mentioned but then it's not usually about trave companies.

You could try the Holiday Travel or Outdoor Adventure Travel forums as this one is the Solo Forum about travelling alone rather than with groups.

To find them look on right of page for Beyond Destination Forums and click under on See All.

Natalie, currently Trip Advisor doesan't have a forum for reveiws of travel companies/tour operators etc.

If you know what destinations and hotels this company have included in the package, you could visit the individual destrination forums and use that as a way of checking on the accommodation. I find that the travel photo's submitted by other travellers much more candid than the publicity blurb provided by a travel company. You can also filter out the reviews to "solo" travellers, which may give you some idea of how libely...or not... the hotel is.

This post has been removed at the author's request.

Thanks mcpinder and suebovington for the tips. I'll look through the other forums.

Please read the very first post on this forum which explains what 'solo' means. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1-i12357-k2413340-Please_Read_How_to_Use_This_Forum-Solo_Travel.html

Hi Natalie,

I went to Myanmar with the flashpack last month and totally recommend them. i saw them mentioned in The Metro and signed up for their newsletters and it was Radha's blog that really made me want to go with them. It's luxury travel but with backpacker activities and it's aimed at 30-45 years old. My group were great, totally on the same wavelength and got along fab. The activities were perfect for me ie bike riding and bathing elephants.

I opted to share with someone on the group i'd not met before and I'm so glad I did as it's nice to have company in the room to chat about your day or discuss what your wearing that day.

My highlight was the accommodation which always suited the environment and the rooms always seem to be nicest room, not the cheap option.

If you check out the reviews on the website you'll even see my embarrassing video review !

Anyways feel free to direct msg me if you need anymore info

Thanks so much EdinburghDi_cat.

I saw your video - not embarrassing at all. Did you go wine tasting in Burma then? That's pretty cool. I might take you up on that offer to PM you when I have some specific questions. Thanks.

Yes the video was taken in the vineyard. The sauv blanc was the favourite and lunch was soooooo nice !

Feel free to dm me anytime.

I went to Vietnam and Cambodia with The Flash Pack recently as I saw their selfie in rio and then saw them reviewed in a magazine. I would definitely recommend them too.

I'm a 40 something solo traveller and gave up on group tours a while ago. I came across the flash pack, so decided to give it ago again as I was getting a bit tired of travelling alone. I found everyone in the group to be on my wavelength. There were 8 of us in total and we were all solo travellers aged 30-50. The small group meant it was much more flexible and intimate than other group tours I've been on.

The guides were all local and very knowledgeable and the activities were good. We did a bit of everything - street food tours, cycling, hiking, cooking classes etc. The hotels were lovely and I also elected to share a room. It wasn't a problem as all the rooms were really spacious and my roommate is now a friend!

The only thing I would say is that the itinerary was active -we did a lot in 2 weeks. I actually love seeing as much as I can and a lot of the hotels had a lovely pool so there was time in the afternoons to relax and some people in the group just opted not to do some of the activities.

Why is this in the Solo forum? Group travel is quite the opposite of solo.

This Travel Company Is Offering Trips Designed Specifically For Solo Millennial Travelers

flash pack travel reviews

While traveling with friends is fun, it's not always easy to pull off: Finding a compatible travel mate is easier said than done — and linking up time-off schedules, budgets, and interests? Even harder. That leaves you with the option of traveling solo , which is actually a major goal for many Millennials , myself included. But as much as I fantasize over impulsively buying a plane ticket and whimsically floating from destination to destination as a solo traveler, there's a lot more that goes into making it happen safely and effectively. Plus, planning all by yourself is hard.

If you're interested in traveling solo but are, like myself, less keen on having to spend the bulk of your time alone and/or be responsible for planning every detail of your trip on your own, then you'll definitely appreciate Flash Pack, a group travel company for solo travelers that curates adventure-based trips among groups of like-minded people — allowing you to meet new people, do something completely on your own, an have the experience of a lifetime that you'd likely not be able to plan otherwise.

flash pack travel reviews

Flash Pack is geared toward curating unique and stylish trips for solo travelers in their late 20s through 40s (basically, any and all Millennials), and its take is pretty fresh and unique. The groups are intimate, and each trip is built for around eight to 12 like-minded solo travelers who are all interested in sharing similar experiences while traveling. This is all done to achieve the goal of finding a "perfect group dynamic" to support an action-packed trip (or, as they say, "goodbye small talk — hello friendship!").

It'll definitely behoove you to set aside whatever comes to mind when you currently think "group travel," as Flash Pack does things a lot differently. This is decidedly not the ultra-touristy group tour that your grandparents opt into, nor is it a wild n' crazy travel package full of 18-year-olds who are just looking to party hard (not that there's anything wrong with either of those experiences, if that's what you're into!). Instead, Flack Pack intentionally seeks out fun, quality, and unique experiences that will allow you to soak in the authentic local culture off the beaten path. "Our team of adventure architects hunt down the best, most unique experiences and bring them alive, with the help of in-the-know locals," writes Flash Pack on its site .

This means you'll be experiencing all the hidden gems that your destination has to offer, eating at the best local restaurants to keep your experience authentic, and staying in gorgeous boutique hotels with pools, hot tubs and rooftop bars for the duration of your trip. Flash Pack is open about the fact they're a little pricier than other group travel companies, but it's for good reason: They take care of every little detail of your trip — including whisking you to and from the airport — and their trips allow you to experience things in a small group. "We also organize 'hard to do by yourself' experiences like staying on a private island in the Philippines or climbing Rainbow Mountain in Peru," Flash Pack explains in their FAQs . All you have to do is choose your trip, book your flight, and get ready to adventure.

Plus, there are more than 50 different epic global trips to choose from in nearly as many countries — and all have different lengths, dates, and adventure-styles, so you have serious options when it comes to planning the trip of your dreams. For example, you could spend a quick four days riding a Vespa through the medieval Spanish countryside while enjoying local wine and tapas, or go on a two week journey in Vietnam and Cambodia full of kayaking, cooking, and visiting temples. The choice is yours, and there's much to choose from.

There are also options to add "extras" onto your trip to personalize it even further — so if something you're dying to do isn't on the pre-curated agenda, chances are you can still take advantage of being nearby and make it happen.

While the company markets itself as being geared toward travelers in their 30s and 40s who are busy professionals, they're down to accommodate "mature" travelers who are in their 20s (or even "dynamic" travelers in their 50s), according to their FAQs . The age restrictions are in place to help create an atmosphere of free-spirited people who are in a similar stage in their lives. What's cool, too, is that you don't have to wait until your vacation to meet your travel partners for the first time, like some sort of vacation blind date. Flash Pack virtually hooks you up with your future travel mates and guide well in advance via a group WhatsApp chat, so you can start getting to know people, making plans, and ~bonding~ before you ever hit international grounds.

Apparently the majority of Flash Pack travelers are single, so there's always the chance that you might find love while on your trip, too. But they note on their site that their trips are "about friendship rather than dating," so even if you don't meet the love of your life, you'll probably make some new lifelong friends and have an absolute blast. That all said, no more excuses when it comes to traveling and making that solo trip of your dreams come true. Check out Flash Pack's epic selection of adventures and make your solo travel goals a reality in 2019.

epic Jordan at Christmas

Date of experience : 19 January 2024

This is super roomy, zips completely open (like a suitcase — so it's easy to find what you need), has plenty of pockets (including one for shoes and a separate wet bag!), and a strap that slides down over your luggage handle for easy transport.

Promising reviews: " I bought this backpack for work. It's the BEST backpack I've ever used. I needed one with several pockets and not too big or heavy. I found that with this backpack,  I can fill it and still have room! There's even a shoe and clothing compartment for traveling! You could fit rolled-up clothes in here for another week , and it has a very handy shoe bag and tons of places for your electronics. This will be an excellent addition to my carry-on suitcase. Best purchase all year. I consider myself an expert on travel bags. I have way too many. It’s smaller than it looks but so roomy." — AP

Promising review: "Buy this if you travel a lot. I travel with scuba dive gear and this saved me from going over the weight limit both going to the island and returning. I was a hero with my friends. They had no idea how much their bags weighed. I helped them too from going over their weight limit. It's easy to use and worth the money." — Tinadiver

4. A travel wallet  for a sensible *and* stylish way to carry important documents so they don't take up space in your carry-on bag. Passport? Check. Boarding pass? Check. Credit cards? Check.

This RFID-blocking wallet has a passport pocket, boarding pass compartment, three credit card slots, an ID slot, a slim card pouch, a slim pocket, a ticket slot, a cellphone pouch, a zippered coin pocket, a key holder, and a pen holder.

Promising review: "This wallet is durable, chic, and spacious. The lining is very soft and feels expensive. From the design to the material to the zippers and snaps, it's well made. I ordered it in rose gold, and it's a beautiful color. I travel frequently and love the boarding pass pocket. I recommended it to my sister and mom, who also love theirs! They ordered in yellow and bronze and were also happy with the color." — Brianna graham

5. A  set of packing cubes  you'll soon wonder how you ever traveled without. Your clothes will stay nicely folded (or rolled!) and you'll have more room in your suitcase. Expert packing level 🔓unlocked.

reviewer's clothes neatly organized in green packing cubes

Promising review: "I travel frequently and travel light. My luggage is usually limited to a backpack that slides under the airline seat. For a two-week European cruise, I added a carry-on rolling suitcase. I've used these packing cubes twice so far, and I am hooked. One cube holds everything (including clothing) I take on a three-night trip . The cube slides into my pack, saving massive amounts of room, and everything is easy to find during travel and at the hotel. Taking out one cube and unzipping is much better than digging through a pack! I will never leave home without these!" — Gura

6. Or some  vacuum storage bags  when you're a serial over-packer...or if you simply need to maximize luggage space. Place your items in the bag and suck out the air with the included travel pump. Who says you can't bring multiple outfit options on vacation?

A BuzzFeeder's bulky clothes in a sealed bag with text:

Former BuzzFeed Shopping writer  Jasmin Sandal says: "I swear by these bad boys not only for general storage purposes, but also if I know I'm going to be traveling for an extended period of time. As someone who tends to pack for every eventuality (who doesn't like to be prepared?!) I have learned that it's better to travel with them than without — especially since it's more or less a guarantee that my clothes are gonna take up a ~substantial~ amount of room in my suitcase. And if I can use something that's gonna shrink the size of my bulky hoodies and/or big tees in order for me to create more space, I'm sure as heck gonna do it. Plus, the satisfaction is indeed guaranteed because when you see those chunky layers flatten into a pancake...it's just *chef's kiss* ."

Promising review: "These are the best packing bags. We used them traveling across the country and... to save space in the suitcase! It's really easy to have the pump right inside the suitcase to flatten the bags when traveling for pleasure. I definitely recommend this for home or travel." — kit

BuzzFeed Shopping editor Maitland Quitmeyer says: " I never thought I'd be an e-reader person, but living in a New York apartment with limited bookshelves changed my ways. I love love (love love love) my Kindle — especially for easily borrowing library books, squeezing in a few chapters on a subway ride, and of course traveling. I lit'rally read 10 times as much with a Kindle in my life."

Promising review: "I was so skeptical about switching from actual books to the Kindle but I have loved it!!! It’s so much more convenient to read and travels well. I’ve only had it like two weeks and have only charged it once (have read three books)!! Its battery life is amazing." — Haley

It's made of vegan leather and includes a 15" padded laptop sleeve, two additional pockets, an external zipped pocket, and a separate shoe compartment!

Promising review: "This garment bag is an exceptional value for the money. Well built, top quality materials, including 'beefy' zippers, should hold up well for airline travel. Minimal wrinkles if any in garments, and a cavernous bag for storing shoes and other items for a trip. Added bonus, it fits easily in the plane overhead storage , similar in size to a standard roller bag. I highly recommend this product." — Kindle Customer

10. An amazingly compact  travel stroller  if one of your major anxieties when packing revolves around your essential parenting items. This stroller is so dang portable *and* it can count as a carry-on item.

Reviewer's photo showing the folded stroller fitting the carryon size requirement for Southwest Airlines

The stroller is supposed to accommodate kids from 6 months up to 55 pounds (approx. 4 years old).

Promising review: "This stroller is great! So cool looking, too. I constantly have moms coming up to me asking where I got this! So easy to fold, so light, and barely takes any space in my trunk. We took it on a flight, and the flight attendants recognized the stroller and told me that I can just wheel the baby on and put the stroller in the overhead bin. I wish I had gotten this stroller with my oldest, but I was being cheap. This stroller is so worth the money. I regret not getting it sooner! But at least my youngest can enjoy it." — Nai Len

11. A set of TSA-approved  silicone travel bottles  so your toiletries are ready for flight in no time. This set also includes spray bottles and jars for storing other products, like lotions and perfumes.

You get four bottles, four jars, and two spray bottles. It also comes with two scoopers to use with the jars, a funnel for transferring liquids, a clear travel bag, a set of labels, and a cleaning brush.

Promising review : " This little set is perfect for your travel toiletries. Instead of paying $3 for those little travel bottles, you can fill your favorite products in these. The taller tubes are silicone and easy to fill. For the circular containers, I used the little scooper to fill them. I didn't use the spray bottles this trip, but I did use everything else, and I'm happy to say nothing leaked. Easy to clean after use as well. " — Nicole

12. Or a  waterproof toiletry bag  designed to hold tons of stuff — it has four compartments so you can pack all your travel-size items. There's also a handy hanging hook so you won't lose track of it!

the pink toiletry bag opened showing all compartments filled with items

Promising review: "I. Love. This. Bag. Seriously, I had a cheap toiletry bag from Target that essentially did the same thing, only way worse. It was too small; the hook didn't rotate so you could only hang it at an angle, if anything ever leaked; it would seep right through the bag, etc. But THIS bag has NONE of those issues! It fits everything I need and then some, meaning I don't have to skimp on my 10-step Korean skincare routine when I travel anymore. It never leaks. And I love that the hook swivels so you can hang it anywhere, and your stuff hangs perfectly. I also love the handle and the overall flatter shape. It makes it so easy to travel with! Cannot recommend this bag enough." — KaiEli

So long as you remember to bring it, it's all the convenience of to-go coffee with none of the waste. It's leakproof and, when you're all done, it collapses down teeny tiny and can be tossed back in your bag. Oh! And it comes with a straw, so all you iced coffee lovers can get in on the action, too."

BuzzFeed Shopping editor Elizabeth Lily says: "^ That's me pumping my signature perfume into one of these travel atomizers I've been using for about a year. As the reviewer down below mentions, it's great to just throw in your purse on the reg for a fragrance re-up throughout the day. As you can see, it's about the size of my thumb and therefore takes up very little room. Plus! It's smaller than most rollerball travel fragrances you can pick up. This first one is working so well, that I just have the other three in storage. But if this one bites the dust this summer during travels, I'll be OK about digging into my stores to use one of the remaining three...especially at this price point."

Promising review:  "I bought these due to traveling a lot for work and needing to cut down on the size of things in my carry-on bag for flying. I can bring four different perfumes now instead of one big one. They’re super easy to fill and haven’t leaked so far, but I keep them in a sandwich baggie while traveling just in case. I would 100% buy them again." — Emily

I gotta say, I love the concept of the Pen Pal from Alleyoop ! After using all of the functions (eyeliner, highlighter, lip liner, eyebrow pencil) and as someone who LOVES makeup but was applying as little as humanly possible during lockdown, I think it’s a great tool for anyone looking to streamline their routine. It's ideal to use for touch-ups come the end of the work day, or a subtle, minimalist way to apply makeup in the a.m. The brow pencil is particularly soft and pigmented, and filled in my eyebrows quickly. I just adore the ease of application of each product, and appreciate the universal, does-it-all-for-you concept. Plus, it saves me so much room in my already overflowing makeup bag!"

Promising review: "We bought this to take with us when we visited our daughter who is studying abroad for four months. We figured she would not have enough room in her luggage when it was time to come home. Folded up, this bag was so compact and lightweight, it took up almost no room in our own luggage for the trip over. Then, sure enough, she had a ton of clothes and shoes to send home with us and packed this bag full. We checked the bag and it made it through two international flights without a scratch. The BEST feature is the side strap that allows you to slide it over the handle of a rolling suitcase so you don't have to carry it. Bali destination

I took a trip in August last year to Bali.If you are people who really love to travel this is not the right company. The level offered by the guide and the proposed trips were not as what was promised in the trip description and not even the hotels. On the third day of the trip we abandoned the vacation in three. I would definitely choose another Company if you really are a traveler and want to share your experience with a group. I really threw away a lot of money

Reply from Flash Pack

Dear Elisa, We are disappointed to see that you have left us a 1* review, several months after your Bali trip. We have served thousands of well travelled customers and it's highly unusual for customers to leave a trip on day three without notifying us and giving us any chance to rectify what was wrong. Based on the feedback you gave us, we are positive that we could have turned your experience around had you given us the chance. Although we think travelling with us for less than 3 days is not a reasonable amount of time to make a judgement about Flash Pack and our customers, we acknowledge that we are not for everyone, which we clearly state on our website. Even though you didn't give us the opportunity to show you how amazing our customer service is, we offered you a very generous goodwill gesture which you failed to respond to. We followed up with you a month later, but still did not receive a response from you. It is important to note that we have had numerous successful Bali tours both before and after your trip. Over the past year, we have sent many satisfied customers to Bali, and we have never received such feedback as that received on your tour. We value our customers and strive to provide excellent service. Please don't hesitate to contact us by email should you wish to discuss this matter further. Kind regards, Flash Pack

Find an alternative provider - Flash Pack are not what they once were

Recently returned from the South India trip, the trip is NOT how it reads & Flash Pack has taken a huge downwards spiral since I first ventured with them in 2019. The Customer Service before the trip was lacking, with me having to request information rather than it being freely given. Tineri was wrong from the very first day I installed it (I contacted Flash Pack immediately & it has never been corrected). Major confusion during the trip regarding tipping, which hung a huge black cloud over the group for the entire duration. I have been offered a reimbursement for extra 'out of pocket' tipping, however I rarely had any cash on me at the time locals were expecting the tips, such as after yoga! The bike ride along the 'relatively flat road' is actually a 15km trek one-way that increases over 1000ft in elevation - not for the feint-hearted. We were then offered to ride back as well, everyone got in the van. The spice plantation tour is literally walking around the backyards of a village, there are no vanilla vines even being grown, let alone hand-pollinated. These are just a couple of examples of how the tour details DO NOT align with reality. I believe it is clear that no-one from Flash Pack has bothered to actually test this tour themselves. I think Flash Pack are aware that they've messed up & have offered for me to have a chat with a representative regarding the itinerary, though the offered time is midnight in my local time-zone. Even in this chat email from them they've made an incorrect reference to my 'North' India trip, when again I did the South. Attention to detail is zero. The saving grace was Remya our guide, she was an absolute legend & I'd happily give 5-stars to her alone. We also had a lovely driver for the duration of the trip. The group dynamic was incredible, many laughs were had & life-long memories were made. I feel that the group as a whole opted for a positive "make the most out of it" attitude despite all the Flash Pack inaccuracies we encountered. Most of the accommodation was fine & Remya (who guides for multiple travel companies across all budgets) confirmed that we were staying in the 'best' accommodation.

Hello Sharmane, We're sorry to hear you feel let down with your recent Flash Pack experience. We pride ourselves on providing a first class Customer Experience, so it's disappointing to learn that you felt the service was lacking. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so that we can investigate your interactions with us and seek to improve going forward. The confusion regarding tipping was due to a breakdown in communication between Flash Pack and our local team, for which we sincerely apologise; we responded to your email about this during the tour and reached out to the whole group so that you could continue your adventure with the correct information. It's important to us to make this right, so anyone who did incur out of pocket expenses can contact us for reimbursement. Further to this we have done a thorough deep-dive into tipping on all our tours and ensured the information we hold internally, provide to our customers and share with our local teams is updated and free of error. Thank you again for raising this. We're sorry that the cycling and and spice plantation in particular did not align with your expectations. We take all feedback incredible seriously and we strive to continuously improve based on the comments we receive about our adventures. This is why we asked if you'd be willing to speak with our Adventure Operations team; this team thoroughly assess where improvements can be made on our tours and speaking with Flashpackers who have had the experience really helps us to do this. The team is UK based and availability was offered between 9:30 - 16:00 BST. I understand that you're 9 hours ahead of the UK, so the timing would work out between 18:30 - 02:00. If things change and you're able to make a call, please reply to our email and we'll get something set up; otherwise, your post-tour feedback was gratefully received and we will work on this instead. We do apologise for incorrectly writing "North" instead of "South" in our email; this was human error and has been addressed internally. Despite the issues you have raised, I'm delighted to read your kind comments about your Pack Leader, driver and your fellow Flashpackers. At Flash Pack, we pride ourselves on bringing together like-minded individuals so it is fantastic to hear that you made some wonderful memories with your group. We hope that we'll have the opportunity to welcome you on a future adventure to show you that we can do better. Kind regards, Flash Pack

The people make it special!

The tours are well done and well planned. Everything is taken care of for you, you just have to show up. The people that you meet are what really makes this special. You will meet like-minded people - which is invaluable.

Ultimate Argentina, DO IT!

I cannot say enough about my recent experience with Flash Pack. I visited Argentina in Feb 23' (Buenos Aires > Patagonia > Mendoza). The itinerary was a perfect mix for me of adventure, cultural immersion and free time to explore or relax. Our local Flash Pack guide, Cinti, was truly wonderful. She was super organized and helpful and just had a great vibe. We fondly called her mama Cinti by the end of the trip. Local guides in each region were also super knowledgeable and friendly. All of our meals and experiences were things I would have sought out on my own had I been solo traveling, this said I can't imagine I would have been able to do even half of these on my own. I mean glacier hiking? c'mon. This was my first experience with group travel and 10/10, I will travel with Flash Pack again!

Great for solo travelers

I have taken three trips with Flashpack and all have been outstanding. Their trips are extremely well organized. They always stay at nice hotels and have some fun unique activities. It is usually a great group of people as well.

Alternative Thailand

Just finished my Thailand trip and It was so amazing. Flash Pack did an incredible job. I'll never forget our guide, Gong. He gave me such a deep love and appreciation for Thai culture. I've done Contiki and Flash Pack trips and although both were great, Flash Pack had the better accommodations and seemed to be a bit more organized and thought out. I'll definitely be doing many more Flash Pack trips in the future. I absolutely love them!

Amazing From the Jump!

I haven’t even gone on my trip yet and I already can’t say enough good things about the Customer Service! I had to change my trip and it was pretty last minute. I emailed, Tara responded, and within 24 hours, I was set to change my trip and go on one that I’m even more excited about than I was in the beginning! I cannot wait to update my review when I’m back and I’m sure the rating will be the same!

Finland's Secret Island - 2nd Flash Pack Adventure

This is my second Flash Pack trip and another truly amazing adventure. So in terms of length of the trip this isn't the cheapest of Flash Packs trips HOWEVER it was 100% worth every penny! Part of the reason for booking Finland with Flash Pack was the location and the activities, neither disappointed. Firstly the location Hotel Vartiosaari was absolutely amazing and stunning, this is your own private island, the rooms are spacious and cosy with great amenities. Exploring this small island is an absolute must, from the bonfire at one end, to the picturesque bridge through to the secluded snow seating area at the other end where you can watch the sunrise over glistening snow cover lake. Next the hotel staff and trek leader - everyone went above and beyond to make this trip special. The trip mentions a 'Private Chef' what it doesnt say is how good he is, his food was simply stunning and something I would expect to find in some of the top restraunts in the biggest cities. Then onto our trek leader Kyle - Firstly I want to start with a massive THANK YOU! Kyle was brilliant and encompased what I have come to love about Flash Pack, a stress free vacation. Everything was taken care of and he wanted nothing more than for us all to have an amazing adventure. He provided interesting facts about the island, culture and Finland which is a key part of travelling for me. Where he truley shinned was during the 'Avanto' (Ice water dip), his guidance and calm gave the whole group the encouragement and courage to take part in this activity not just once but twice! And finally the activities, this was one of the main draws for me and is why I felt it was worth spending the money. Each activity was excellent and provided an experience of Finnish culture. There was enough each day to feel like you had not wasted any time, but with the opportunity to take a minute to enjoy a hot Sauna or take in the stunning island surroundings. I personally loved the Snowmobiling and where I thought it would be a quick trip out and back, it was anything but with a long drive out to the middle of nowhere with cooked sausages and buns to help make the trip back. To the staff THANK YOU, to anyone thinking of booking this trip DO IT NOW! Brilliant and can't wait for the next adventure. Oh and a side note - although not guaranteed we saw the Northern Lights!!!!!!!!!!

I took the secret island Finland trip…

I took the secret island Finland trip and it was amazing. The activities were great and the hotel, Hotel Vartiosaari, was amazing. Our host, Kyle was excellnt, helped us out and made sure our stay was great and everything went smoothly. Our activities included dog sledding, snow mobiling and forest skiing. We also took a dip in the cold water which was set up on the island at the hotel by Kyle and the staff and he was there helping each person go in the water and made sure we were all helped and safe. The food we had was also amazing. A chef was brought in for our dinners and lunches and the food was amazing with most of the food being very local. We were also able to see the northern lights from the island. Also, with a nearly full moon and snow everywhere it was actually quite bright and you could see a lot at night. The rooms are of varying sizes but they are nice and modern. This whole experience was great and the hotel and island were amazing.

Poor accommodation and not value for money

I went to Jordan with flashpack towards the end of last year. The guide was very poor and made us feel like we were gatecrashing his holiday, rushing us through things only to make us sit and wait at other points. I also complained to Flashpack about the quality of one of the accommodations. The example hotel shown for wadi-rum was of a vastly different quality to the one we got. The one shown is a high quality campsite in the middle of the desert. Instead we were put in a cheap, dirty, run down one right by the town. There were large coach tours there who took over the restaurant, turning off the lights and starting to party when we were still eating. There was then a very loud disco for half the night in the main outside area. Whilst trying to sit around within the camp we got harassed by local tour operators trying to get us to pay to go on a night jeep trip. I sent an email to flashpack explaining this and showing photos of the stay to show the dirty room and bathroom, and even a video from when we walked out of camp to sit away about 200m away on a sand dune and the volume of the music from the disco is still clearly heard. The only response I got was a fairly generic, thanks for the feedback we appreciate it and we will collate it with others from your trip. It would have been nice to get an apology and a statement saying they were not going to use that location in the future. I have been on other cheaper group tours that were better run and much better value for money. I even found other cheaper ones that included the example accommodation shown on Flashpacks website that we didn't get on the trip. For this reason I can't recommend the tour as I do not know if this has been changed based on feedback from me and others on my tour.

Hello Helen, We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your Jordan adventure with Flash Pack in October. We take all feedback very seriously and we use it to continuously improve our adventures and our service. The experience you've described at the Wadi Rum Desert Camp is certainly not up to the usual Flash Pack standard. We've reassessed the accommodation and have worked with the camp to ensure a much better experience for all customers moving forward. Since your tour, we've received more positive feedback about the accommodation. At Flash Pack, we pride ourselves on our experienced Pack Leaders and we understand that they're pivotal in your enjoyment of the tour. Having received your feedback, we worked very closely with our local partner in Jordan to provide your Pack Leader with further training. We're pleased to say that he acted immediately on the feedback and made significant improvements, and since received excellent comments about his service and leadership. However, we accept that we could have done better in relation to your experience and informed you of our actions at the time. Further to your adventure, we have improved internal feedback review processes and we're now equipped to act more effectively when issues such as these are raised on tour. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn and improve. We'd love for you to give us another chance to show you we can do better, so we do hope to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards, Flash Pack

Trip of a lifetime!

My third trip with Flash Pack and my best one yet. It was a packed itinerary with loads of fun activities to get to know beautiful Sri Lanka. Some of the highlights for me were the safari in Yala National Park and watching the sunset over Sigiriya rock. The hotels were great, big comfortable rooms with nice pools for some downtime and incredible views. We had such a good group and the crew were fantastic as well. Specifically want to call out our guide Suren! He told us at the start of the trip that our holiday would be worry free and it so was... We travelled between quite a few places and everything went super smooth, we didn't have to think about a thing! If there's anything we wanted to do/eat/buy Suren would sort it immediately, nothing was too much to ask for. Aside from being super organized and knowledgeable, he was just such fun to be around as well, it wouldn't have been the same without him!

Inside Sri Lanka- Beyond expectations!!!

Just came back from 2 amazing weeks in Sri Lanka with Flash Pack and I will be back for sure!!! I must admit Sri Lanka was not on my bucket list. I was looking for a destination to spend New Year’s Eve and it was one of the last trips with remaining spots during this period: WHAT A LUCK!!!! I could not have wished for a better start of 2023!!! Everything was amazing: the people, the food, the landscapes, the wildlife (we literally crossed a wild elephant on the side of the road and another one at the hotel) . I created so many good memories sprinkled with good vibes and a lot of 90’s music. The trip was super well organized and planned. The activities were carefully chosen to be originals, far from the usual touristic tours (special mention to the magical Gypsies night!). The hotels were beautiful and well positioned. Last but not least : our awesome Pack Leader, Suren. Could not wish for a better guide: beside being the perfect entertainer (he dances, he sings, he cracks jokes along the way), he is mainly on point regarding the geopolitics and history of his country. He went above and beyond for each of us (and let me tell you it is not easy to manage a group of 14 people) to make sure our trip was perfect and he made it memorable. Sri Lanka is a treasure and there is still a lot to discover. Plan your trip asap before the return of the tourists’ waves!

Dream travel company

I've had 3 trips with Flashpack and all of them have been an amazing experience: great itinerary, cool leaders and fellow travelers. My last travel took me to Vietnam and it was an amazing adventure! You dont need to worry about anything, because the Flashpack Leader is taking care about everything, so you can have an enjoyable experience. What is special about Flashpack? You get to meet locals (e.g. having dinner with a local family), you travel with open-minded and cool people, you stay at nice hotels, you get some local adventures. I am a big fan and recommend this travel company for all solo travelers (even the introverts :-))

Sri Lankan adventures

When it comes to travel there are lots of variables that can impact your trip. Flash Pack's expertise lies in their ability to account for as many variables as possible when designing and implementing a tour. From expedient check-ins and check-outs at their curated hotels to all of the meals and experiences that await you on your trip. But more importantly, they listen to the feedback both on the tour and after the tour to continually make improvements. The Sri Lanka trip itself captures the essence and culture of the country over the 11 days of touring. There's a balance of activities that will appeal to most travelers, especially for those who like to indulge in the local culinary delights. This is more of a low key trip in terms of nightlife it that's your thing. However, the true strength of a Flash Pack tour is the people. From our tour guide Suren who made sure the group was organized, informed and entertained (try to keep up with his musical knowledge) to the rest of the crew and local guides, everybody was top notch.

Another fantastic Flashpack trip completed

Just returned from my second FlashPack trip, this one was Untamed Costa Rica. Was an amazing trip, which was well organised and full of fun activities. We had a fantastic knowledgeable tour guide who made sure everything ran smoothly. I've made some new friends from the trip and already have dates in the diary to meet up with them.

Sri Lanka: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sri Lanka was a bucket list destination and I'm so grateful I finally got to experience it! Everything about the experience exceeded my expectations. The itinerary felt hand-curated by Flash Pack: from the breathtaking hotels to the endlessly delicious meals and unique experiences. I was unsure if this would be a good time to visit the country but after discussing it further with very patient FP customer service folks, I felt reassured that it would go smoothly. And going was the right decision. I felt extremely comfortable, safe, and welcomed with open arms by locals. The country is stunning and Sri Lankans are eager to share it with visitors. By nature of the tour, you end up spending a lot of time with the group and everyone was really cool. The dynamic was friendly, fun, open-minded people from a few different countries that got along great. They set a high bar for future trips! Worth noting that our tour guide, Suren, was the best tour guide I've ever had (and I've done many group trips). He took the time to get to know everyone and even remembered what our bags look like so they got delivered to our hotel rooms without us having to lift a finger. Everything was taken care of thanks to him and he did a great job of teaching us about the country and answering endless amounts of questions. TL;DR: if you're deciding if you should go to Sri Lanka, just do it. You can thank me later.

My First Flashpack Trip

It was an amazing trip to Sri Lanka and I fell in love with this country! The activities, which flashpack organized, were just absolutely stunning, beautiful und great!! I never would have experienced such things,if I would have gone on my own to visit this country! Meeting new people all over the world, was also very nice and we had e really good time together! The organisation was just very good und we had been informed about everything what was changed in our trip and their reasons. The whole trip was the money absolutely worth!! =D And I also have to admit that Suren did his job absolutely perfect! A good and funny soul with a huge knowledgement about his country! He tried all the time to fulfill all the needs of everybody in our group,so thank you a lot for that: you made the trip even better!!

Flashpack- Sri Lanka

Flashpack- Sri Lanka. I’ve done several solo travel group trips in the past with other companies and this was by far the best. Being with others of a similar age range (30s/40s) and open mindset when it comes to connecting with new people and places meant the group was friendly, up for anything, and lots of fun. It’s definitely an elevated group travel experience, staying at really nice hotels. Part of what made the trip so unique and memorable through was the local group experiences curated by Flashpack. I felt completely safe and taken care of the whole time, and enjoyed going to locations that were less filled with tourists. Adding to that was our incredible guide, Suren, who helped create a great group dynamic and took the time to get to know everyone. I will only be doing group travel with Flashpack going forward. 100% recommend it!

Amazing Tour Company! Will join again

Just did a tour in Mexico. Fantastic Tour Guide, great itinerary. Quality people on the tour. Can't wait to do another tour with Flashpack.

First Flash Pack trip - total win!

I recently did my first Flash Pack trip - Secret Vietnam. Everything about the trip (from booking, customer service, and of course the trip itself) was top notch. I have to admit I was a little nervous, as I'd never done solo group travel before. I'm so happy to report that everything exceeded my expectations. We had a great group of travelers, an EXCELLENT pack leader (Lee!) and we got lucky with great weather throughout. I thought the trip was very well thought out, and it was so nice to have a lot of unique cultural experiences vs just the normal "touristy" activities. Hoi An was my absolute FAVORITE city, and I'm glad we had a couple days there. My only suggestion is to make the trip a day or two longer, as we really didn't have much time in Hanoi or Saigon. Thank you, Flash Pack! I'm already researching which trip I'll be joining in 2023!

Love flashpack travel…

I have done two trips with flashback and it’s hard to consider another company now. I traveled to Portugal and Egypt and had great experiences and tour guides. They keep your agenda busy but also provide enough space for relaxation. The age group and size is perfect. Totally recommended

Excellent trip to Peru

Excellent trip to Peru . Flash pack planned everything to the T. I am very particular with my hotels and food on my vacations and flash pack did not disappoint. Had the most beautiful hotels and out of the world cuisine . No corners were cut when it comes to experiences. To top it all we had the BEST pack leader one can ask for Dennis . Our group was in tears saying our goodbyes to him . Overall fantastic experience

Spectacular Peru Indeed!

I did Spectacular Peru in October and it was quite literally spectacular!! Everything was so well organised, you did not have to worry about a thing. We got to see and do a wide range of activities with of course Machu Picchu being an absolute highlight! I have never done solo travelling before and was very apprehensive about going with a group of strangers but I am SO glad I did it, I was so lucky to have a wonderful group of ladies that I can now call friends and our pack leader Dennis was an angel and we all absolutely adored him! I would 100% recommend flashpack to anyone thinking of doing solo travel!

Ultimate Argentina

I have been dreaming about this trip for years, not able to go during the pandemic. I was thrilled when Flashpack returned and this trip started up again. My expectations was very high but the trip lived up to them all! The activities were fun, adventurous and included a couple of wow moments. Very impressed with our guides, both our trip leader and the expertise of our local guides. Also grateful that so much food, wine and snacks were included

My second and definitely not my last Flash Pack trip...

My recent trip to Portugal was my second Flash Pack trip and it won't be my last! Rita was an amazing guide who took a genuine interest in each of us. She shared so many things with us and was so organized. She always kept us up to date on the days activities and even made sure to include us when weather changed plans. She was respectful when anyone didn't want to participate in an activity. I truly enjoyed this trip and made some many memories and new friends!

Just back from a fantastic trip to Thailand and I would absolutely recommend Flash Pack. My group was brilliant (think: lots of professionals looking to have fun without the stress of organising it yourself), the activities were really fun, it was all very well organised and it was busy...so be prepared to keep moving! You pack in lots more than you probably would on your own, but this is a good thing. Everything was beautifully curated and I will definitely be doing another trip with them.

Great company

Great company. Travelled to Colombia in November and had a fantastic time. Our guides were knowledgeable and interesting, the accommodation everywhere was fantastic and on the luxurious side! The itinerary was well thought out and gave a great insight to Colombia whilst also having enough time to do a bit of exploring on our own. Would highly recommend Flash Pack for solo travelling, I’ll be booking another trip soon!

I would thoroughly recommend Flash pack, and the secret Vietnam trip. It was organised very well, the hotels were all lovely, and the activities were fantastic. The people in my group were all very friendly. The tour guide Hoang Lee was brilliant. He was very knowledgable and took care of all arrangements so that we didn’t need to worry about anything.

Absolutely Incredible Experience

If you are an individual traveler, stop reading this and book a Flashpack trip right now. It’s amazing. The itineraries are really planned out, the accommodations are great, the local guides are amazing, and you will have a group of people to share the experience with. I can’t recommend this enough.

Untold Jordan

I travelled with Flash Pack's Untold Jordan tour in November 2023. The tour was fantastic, Petra and the Dead Sea being the headline highlights, however the days spent at Wadi Rum and the Red Sea were just as good. We had a group of 10, everyone on the tour was a solo traveler, and everyone came into the tour with the right mindset. I know every tour group is different, but I think Flash Pack's target demographic of 30s/40s solo travelers just seems to attract the kind of people you want to travel with. I was a little unsure about the price, with Flash Pack definitely being pricier than other companies with similar itinerary's, however I must say that the accommodation was really nice everywhere we went, and I barely needed to spend any money during the tour. I will definitely travel with Flash Pack again.

Jordan: Beautiful country, amazing hospitality!

My first time in Jordan and it was amazing! In a group of 6 plus our excellent tour guide, Fadi, we toured the country. Starting in Amman, hiking through the Dana Biosphere Reserve, visiting Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba. The carving into the rock at Petra is beautiful and the red desert of Wadi Rum is remarkable. We did a cooking class, floated in the Dead Sea, rode a camel through the desert, had food & coffee with the Bedouins and went snorkeling in the Red Sea. Experiences that felt once-in-lifetime. I would not have been able to have done all this without Fadi's local knowledge and Flashpack planning the trip. It felt like everything was perfectly curated and taken care of. Wish I was still there now to be honest...

5 FlashPack trips and counting

I have now been on 5 FlashPack trips and I love the company and the brand and all that they stand for. I feel that they are true to their word on the group dynamic and I won't travel with any other company now. They're a company who listens to their customers and they truly deliver a white glove experience.

Worth it! Just go!

I had the absolute greatest time on my Portugal trip! I met fantastic people from all different places and got to try new things, like surfing, and see beautiful areas, even though the weather was less than ideal. This was my first solo trip and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Rita was the greatest Pack Leader and I made some lifelong friends.

Just got back from Alternative Thailand…

Just got back from Alternative Thailand and it was amazing! Our guide Amy was better than I ever could have imagined. Food was incredible. Overall the trip had so much packed in but I never felt like it was too much. Plenty of time to relax and do what you want to do. Go on this trip!

Bali Immersion

Overall amazing trip filled with memorable experiences. Our pack leader, Ketut Sunarka, was extremely knowledgeable, funny, personable, and very attentive to everyone's needs. He made this trip extra special. The itinerary was awesome, I would only change couple of things. Coffee store stop in Ubud, I would skip it and exchange it for a stop at the Tunas Coffee experience - which wasn't on the itinerary, it was an extra stop and I'm glad we did it. I would also add a snorkeling & waterfall excursions, I did those separately during free time. Generally speaking, everything was super spectacular!

8 Day Morocco Highlights in December

I recently came back from the 8 Day Morocco tour and it was incredible. For a female solo traveler, it was a great way to see this country. Sidecar ride was amazing and don’t skip out on surfing even if you’re hesitant as those who were on the fence, but did it, said it was one of their best experiences (even with wipeouts). If you’re going over Christmas time, the hotels really do a wonderful job at decorations so you won’t miss out in that respect. If traveling in December/winter - note that Morocco gets cold so while surfing was surprisingly warm (as was Essaouira), you won’t be using any pools elsewhere and bring your winter layers! The group we had on this trip meshed really well almost immediately so that obviously elevated the experience. However, if you need your solo time, there is room for that as well so don’t let that deter you if you’re not sure about a group trip. Don’t skip out on experiencing the magic of Morocco with FlashPack. I just wish I had more vacation days to see more of the country!

The most wonderful holiday in Bali

The most incredible group of women - never has the phrase ‘my vibe attracts my tribe’ been more relevant. We shared amazing experiences together as well as sharing similar life stories as we went. The itinerary was fabulous, a perfect mix of tourist hotspots and off the track immersive cultural experiences. The tour guide was excellent. Very easy, perfectly organised. LOVED it.

Flash Pack tours are a bit more expensive compared to other tour company alternatives. For example, a 9-day Costa Rica adventure costs $3495 whereas, in G-Adventures, 9-day Costa Rica tours come under $2000. However, there are differences in group size, experience, and quality of accommodation between the two.
