The Ultimate Guide to Visiting the Arsenal Stadium Tours

Arsenal stadium tours ultimate guide.

From tours hosted by famous football legends to a self-guided audio tour so you can walk around Emirates Stadium at your own pace, it’s no secret why the Arsenal Stadium Tour has become such a popular tourist activity for sports fans in London.

The origins of the Arsenal Football Club can be traced all the way back to 1886, but throughout its history, the team has gone through many name and location changes. Arsenal FC only recently moved to the Emirates Stadium in Holloway in 2006, which was the same year the stadium was officially opened to the public.

The Emirates Stadium has 60,260 seats and cost a whopping £390 million to complete. The stadium is also home to the Arsenal Museum, which boasts two video theatres, and 20 massive displays centered around Arsenal FC’s history.

Arsenal Stadium Tours Highlights

There are three different Arsenal Stadium Tours to choose from which include:

  • The Stadium Self-Guided Audio Tour – where visitors can walk around the Emirates Stadium at their own pace using audio-visual guide handsets. The guide is narrated by Arsenal legends Lee Dixon, Charlie George or Nigel Mitchell, and will lead you to the Directors’ Box, both the home and away changing rooms, the Players’ Tunnel, the Pitchside and much more. Also included in the tour is a set of branded Arsenal headphones and a tour certificate.
  • The Legends Tour – which are led by former Arsenal players including Charlie George, Nigel Winterburn and Perry Groves. During the tour, the Legends will lead you around the Emirates Stadium, answer any of your questions about their time playing for the Arsenal Football Club, and even give their two cents about the current team.
  • The Match Day Tour – where visitors can take a tour around Emirates Stadium hours before a match, which includes visits to the Directors Box, the Pitchside, the Home Dugout, the Diamond Club, the Press Conference Room, and much, much more. However, visitors will not be allowed to access either the home or away changing rooms or the Players’ Tunnel (for obvious reasons).

The Stadium Self-Guided Audio Tour: The tour can take anywhere from one hour to even over three hours, depending on how long you wish to tour the stadium. Tickets can be purchased at the Stadium Tours desk (in the Armoury Store) on the day of your visit, and you don’t need to book your tickets online beforehand. Tickets are only valid for three months from the date of purchase, however, tickets are flexible and can be used at any time during the stadium’s opening hours.

The Legends Tour: Tours last approximately one hour and all tickets must be booked in advance. Be aware that all visitors must arrive at the tour entrance ten minutes before the departure time.

Arsenal FC History

Arsenal has an incredible history dating back to 1886 when a group of workers from Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory decided to form a football team. The squad called themselves Dial Square, after the sundial atop the entrance to the factory. The iconic red kit we know today manifested in 1895, two years before the team became professional. Fred Beardsley, Bill Parr and Charlie Bates left Nottingham Forest to join Dial Square, bringing their old red kit with them. The club decided that the most inexpensive way to kit out the whole team was to match their outfit to the same colour as the ex-Forest players. Throughout the years, the bright red kit has changed to become the iconic red kit, known today. Top sports brands, like Puma and Adidas, have even designed professional kits for the team, often showcased at the stadium.

The team also developed and grew, replacing managers and players with fresh members. The newly refurbished Emirates Stadium Museum details this progression through a series of exciting exhibitions. Here, you can view Arsenal’s history from the team's time at Woolwich through to their move to Highbury and then to their current home.

Arsenal Museum

Many of the items on display were kindly donated by former players who hold a special place in Arsenal’s history. Highlights include Jens Lehmann’s goalkeeper gloves that he wore for every league match of the unbeaten Invincibles season in 2003/4, Michael Thomas’ boots from Anfield ’89 and Charlie George’s FA Final Cup shirt from 1971. Charlie George attended the re-opening and currently leads Legends Tours of Emirates Stadium alongside Perry Groves and Nigel Winterburn.

The museum also features two impressive video theatres and twenty primary displays based on Arsenal’s proud history, from its formation in 1886 to the present day. These displays include a selection of iconic shirts including those worn by Alex James in 1936 FA Cup Final and the 2015 FA Cup Final shirt signed by the winning squad. Visitors can also see a collection of shirts, medals and trophies from former Arsenal captain Joe Mercer and the shield commemorating the club’s hat-trick of League Championships from 1933-1935.

The Arsenal museum forms part of the self-guided tour which enables visitors to explore behind-the-scenes of Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club. Your Arsenal stadium tour ticket also includes free entry to the Arsenal museum. Should you wish to visit the museum separately, that's also an option.

It was described by Arsene Wenger as "the biggest decision in Arsenal's history".

In 2002, relocation plans began and four years later, the club had a new home.

On the site of what was once an old waste disposal estate in Ashburton Grove now stands The Emirates Stadium - a state-of-the-art facility, fit for a club at the higher echelons of the game.

Throughout the 2009/2010 campaign, an "Arsenalisation" project began with the intention of connecting the club's storied past with it's exciting future.

Among the changes was the striking imagery of 32 Arsenal greats "embracing" the 60,000 seater ground.

This - along with the statues of former greats Tony Adams, Thierry Henry and Herbert Chapman - are among just some of the sights that attract thousands through the stadium's doors on both matchdays and non-matchdays alike.

Below is everything you need to know about Arsenal's Emirates Stadium tour.

How do I book my place?

The Stadium Tour, Matchday Tour, Legend Tour and VIP Legend Experience are all available to buy on the official Arsenal website .

Their main tour is included on multiple discount passes, and they also offer VIP tours which are led by legendary Arsenal players.

Each tour includes access to the Arsenal Museum, a personalized tour certificate, and more.

While there are some short matchday tours that last only 20 minutes long, most tour options are between 1-2 hours in length.

In addition to covering each stadium tour option in detail, this post will also provide information about how to get there and deals you can use to save up to 50% off tickets.

Emirates Stadium Tours and Tickets

There are currently four different tours offered at Emirates Stadium, including both a matchday tour and a VIP experience. Prices start at just £15, and you can enjoy this activity most days of the week.

Arsenal Stadium Tour

This is the standard tour offered at Emirates Stadium, and it provides self-guided access to some of the most notable locations in the arena.

Visitors can expect to see attractions such as the director’s box, the player’s entrance and tunnel, dressing rooms, the press conference room, and even Pitchside!

Everyone who takes this tour will receive an audio guide with commentary from legends such as Charlie George, Lee Dixon, and Nigel Mitchell.

You’ll have the opportunity to listen to this audio tour on a free pair of Arsenal earphones. Admission to the Arsenal Museum and a personalized tour certificate are also included with purchase.

As if all of that weren’t enough, every ticket is valid for up to 3 months, so you don’t even have to worry about booking a date or time to visit!

  • £27/Adults | £18/Children (5-15)
  • £22/Concession (Seniors, Students, Disabled)
  • Free for children under the age of 5
  • Purchase tickets or learn more .

TIP: This tour is included at no extra cost with the London Pass and the Explorer Pass .

Legend Tour

If you’re interested in a more personalized guided tour, this option includes everything from the standard self-guided service along with a 90-minute tour hosted by one of three legends: Charlie George, Perry Groves, or Nigel Winterburn.

Everyone who takes the Legend Tour at Emirates Stadium will receive a photo opportunity with their star and a signed photograph. You’ll also receive a free Arsenal lanyard!

Availability depends on when each Arsenal legend is available, and most tours take place on weekends at either 11 am or 1 pm.

  • £50/Adults | £30/Children (5-15)
  • £40/Concession (Seniors, Students, Disabled)

VIP Legend Experience

This is the most exclusive experience available at Emirates Stadium, and it’s essentially a half-day activity. The tour itself is 4 hours in length, and it’s hosted by both the legend of your choice and pitchside commentator Nigel Mitchell.

In addition to all the behind-the-scenes locations included on other tours, the VIP Legend Experience also offers access to the TV studios where they broadcast the games live from on-site at Emirates Stadium.

Since the tour is so long, it also includes a nice buffet lunch with unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks and more in the Diamond Club. This isn’t your average buffet, either – the food is prepared by a 2 star Michelin chef!

Visitors can also expect one-on-one time with their legend of choice, during which time they will receive a photo opportunity and signing session.

You’ll also get a signed Arsenal lanyard, a premium gift bag, entry to the Arsenal Museum, a guidebook, and a personalized tour certificate.

The VIP Legend Experience is only available for adults over the age of 16. Tickets can sell out several months in advance, so we recommend checking back frequently to make sure you don’t miss out on this opportunity.

  • £325 per person
  • Purchase the VIP Legend Experience or learn more .

Matchday Tour

As the name implies, these tours are only offered on matchdays, and they’re a bit more limited in scope (60 min) as a result of the limited time available for behind-the-scenes activities on these days.

That said, if you’re already planning to arrive at the stadium early, this could be a good way to pass the time before the match begins.

The following tour types are available as matchday tours:

  • Whistlestop (20 min)

There are also early bird prices available for those who take the earliest tours (9:20 am).

Here are the prices for each matchday tour at Emirates Stadium:

Arsenal FC Emirates Football Stadium Tour Review & Guide

arsenal stadium tour certificate

Welcome to Arsenal

If you are a football fan in London, you must do a Stadium Tour as part of your holiday highlights. Within an hour from Central London, you have a couple of Premier League Stadiums that are easily accessible by the tube. There is Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Westham.

Of the lot, we decided to do an Arsenal Emirates Stadium Tour located at Drayton Park.

How to book the Arsenal Stadium Tour?

While you can book directly with Arsenal or Klook for the Emirates Stadium Tour , we have found a hack for a cheaper entrance fee. We picked up the Go City: London Explorer Pass for 5 attractions from Klook   and saved 35% off the admission. If there are more than 3 attractions in your itinerary, we suggest checking it out. Unlike other stadium tours, there is no need to book a specific date, making it flexible to plan your itinerary.

You can download the Go City App and download the pass according to the email confirmation by Klook. Once done, just show the pass on the attractions you visit.

Getting there

Getting to Emirates stadium is easy from Central London. Depending on where you are, it should take less than an hour to reach. There are three stations within walking distance.

  • Picadilly Line - Arsenal and Holloway Road
  • Great Northern - Drayton Park

Emirates Stadium Tour: Where to Start?

If you come from Holloway Road, you will see a pair of cannons fronting the stadium. Walk straight, and you will reach the armoury.

Head to the counter, show them the Go-City Pass or any other tickets you have, and you will be given a headset to start your tour. This tour is free and easy, and there will not be a guide to bring you around. Instead, an audio guide will lead you through the 14 narratives that will take place around the stadium.

Highlights of Emirates Stadium Tour.

The following are included in your ticket

  • Stadium Entry
  • Audio Guide
  • Arsenal branded earbuds
  • Tour Certificate
  • Museum Entry

Director's Entrance

There are several busts at the Director's Entrance. The most recognisable for international fans would be Arsene Wenger.

Director's Lounge (Inside)

Next we have a walk through the Director's Lounge.

Look out for the special golden Premier League trophy commissioned for Arsenal Invincibles, who finished a 38-match season unbeaten.

Director's Box (Outside)

Next, we stepped out of the Director's Box for a bird's eye view of the stadium pitch.

It's hard to deny the feeling when this is your first time seeing a Premier League pitch, especially when you have been following English Football for decades.

Diamond Club

Next is a quick stop at the Super exclusive Diamond Club

Player's Entrance

We head back inside to check out the player's entrance. There is an interesting time capsule here.

Players Pre Match Tunnel

The prematch tunnel is one of the more impressive ones we have seen among the stadiums we toured during this holiday.

Away Changing Room

The Away Changing Room is next. We think that this area is purposely blandly decorated to put gloom on opponents.

Home Changing Room

In contrast, the home changing room is impressive. The colours are more striking with Arsenal red.

There is even a treatment room in the changing room.

Next to the changing room is Mikel Arteta's newly renovated office.

Player's Tunnel

We walked down the famed player's tunnel, a feature you will see in home matches televised around the work.

Home Dugout

Besides admiring the pitch up close, we stopped at the home dugout.

Interview Room

The interview room looks much smaller than real life, but it is unmistakable with the sponsor's logo as a background. This room is usually featured at the end of the match when they interview the players

Press Conference Room

The press conference room was our last stop for this stadium tour.

The Armoury

The tour ends at the armoury.

Remember to pick up your free tour certificate here. You can also customise it with player's photos for a fee.

After that, you can shop at the armoury to pick up official merchandise at home as souvenirs.

Arsenal Museum

The stadium tour includes the Arsenal Museum.

The museum is split into 2 sections.

On the left, you learn of Arsenal's history from 1886.

On the right is a more modern section on Arsenal's recent achievements, including a tribute to Arsene Wenger.

If you are an Arsenal fan, you have to visit the Emirates Stadium. Even if you are not an Arsenal fan but a football fan, it will be hard not to enjoy this stadium tour if you are in London.

We highly recommend adding this to the itinerary if there are any fans in your travelling entourage; after all, it is not every day that you will get to visit a Premier League stadium.

Leicester WSL match to be held at Emirates Stadium

We are excited to announce that we will host an extra Women’s Super League match at Emirates Stadium this season.

Our penultimate home game of the season against Leicester City, currently scheduled to take place on April 21*, will become the sixth league match to be played in N5 this season.

It comes on the back of two WSL attendance records set at Emirates in 2023, most recently a 59,042 crowd for our 4-1 win against Chelsea in December.

The game against the Foxes will join Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as our remaining WSL matches to be played at Emirates this season, which take place on Saturday, February 17 [ tickets ] and Sunday, March 3* [ tickets ] respectively.

Our Chief Executive, Vinai Venkatesham, said “We’ve been thrilled by the consistent support for our women’s team this season. That includes record attendances, as well as regular sell-outs at Meadow Park and for all our away allocations.

“We’re delighted to bring our supporters another match at Emirates to build on that, and give as many of them as possible the opportunity to get behind the team in what will be a crucial period of our season."

Supporters will be able to purchase early bird tickets for the Leicester match from Tuesday, January 30 at 2pm (UK).

The match remains part of the women’s season ticket, and season ticket holders will be allocated the same seat(s) they have been using for all other games at Emirates Stadium for the 2023/24 season.

This game will not be part of the Emirates Home Advantage Pack, however supporters who have purchased a Home Advantage Pack for the 2023/24 season will have the opportunity to purchase their usual seat(s) in a priority window that will open on Thursday, January 25 at 2pm (UK) and close on Monday, January 29 at 2pm (UK).

Securing a Green Card Through Job Offer Under PERM Labor Certification – Process Explained

Introduction

Welcome to our blog post where we will walk you through the step-by-step process of obtaining an employer-sponsored green card in the United States. The most common process, referred to as PERM labor certification or ‘PERM,’ is designed for foreign workers who receive a full-time job offer from a U.S. employer and wish to pursue permanent employment opportunities in the country. The perception that employment-based green card sponsorship is only available for higher-level professional positions is not accurate. In fact, most jobs qualify for the U.S. permanent residency process through PERM, which can encompass a range of roles. This includes jobs such as teachers, nurses, airline pilots, landscapers, truck drivers, researchers, performing artists, nannies, and more.

In this article, we will outline the essential procedures and requirements involved providing a comprehensive understanding of securing lawful permanent residency status through this particular green card path.

Prior to taking the substantive steps below, a crucial initial assessment involves analyzing the beginning stages of an applicant’s PERM process. An immigration attorney should review the applicant’s proposed job description, along with the applicant’s updated resume to determine whether the position being offered is classified as an advanced degree professional, professional, or skilled/unskilled worker. This determination will be key in understanding eligibility for the last phase of the green card process, commonly referred to as Adjustment of Status. The immigration attorney should also determine whether the proposed employment requires any prior experience and collaborate with others to obtain the necessary employment verification letters well before initiating the PERM steps below.

Now, let’s move on to the substantive phases of PERM labor certification.

Step 1:   Prevailing Wage Determination

The first step under PERM labor certification involves obtaining a prevailing wage determination. This determination ensures that foreign workers are paid the same wages as similarly-qualified U.S. workers. The U.S. employer must submit a prevailing wage request to the Department of Labor detailing the job title, duties, work location, experience requirements, and educational qualifications. The Department of Labor reviews the request and provides a minimum wage that the employer must pay the sponsored foreign worker at the time the worker actually obtains his or her Green Card (this is a prospective future employer obligation).

Step 2: Recruitment in the Area of Intended Employment

To protect the U.S. workforce, the Department of Labor requires U.S. employers to make genuine efforts to hire qualified domestic employees before considering foreign workers. For recruitment purposes, sponsoring employers are only required to consider qualified U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. The recruitment stage involves the employer advertising the job in newspapers and other appropriate platforms in the area where the worker will be performing their job duties. Strict guidelines must be followed, including specific language requirements in advertisements, as well as timing considerations. Working with an experienced immigration lawyer is advisable to ensure compliance with these technical recruitment requirements. Although most employers undertake the recruitment phase after the prevailing wage determination arrives (Step 1), in some cases recruitment should be well under way even before the wage determination is issued. This is an option that should be explored especially if the prospective employee is facing some kind of urgent immigration deadline.

Step 3: Cooling Off Period

After completing the recruitment process, a mandatory cooling off period follows. During this period, the U.S, employer allows applications to trickle in from the recruitment efforts. The purpose of this period is to evaluate applications and conduct interviews to determine if any qualified U.S. workers are able, willing, qualified and available for the position. One common question raised by employers during this process is whether they are required to hire an applicant who seems to be qualified for the role. According to the Department of Labor’s FAQs, an employer is not required to hire a qualified worker when testing the labor market.

Step 4: PERM Application

Once the prevailing wage determination and recruitment steps are completed, the U.S. employer can proceed to file the PERM application with the Department of Labor on Form ETA 9089, which was just updated on June 1, 2023. The online PERM submission formally seeks authorization to hire a foreign worker for the position, indicating that suitable U.S. workers could not be found despite adhering to the prevailing wage determination and conducting appropriate recruitment efforts. The filing of the PERM application establishes a ‘priority date’ for the green card applicant and becomes important in Step 6.

Step 5: Form I-140

After the PERM application is certified by the Department of Labor, the process moves to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In this step, the U.S. employer files Form I-140 with USCIS, providing evidence that the sponsored foreign worker meets the requirements specified in the prevailing wage determination and PERM application and confirming that the employer has the financial ability to pay the offered salary to the applicant in the future. Form I-140 can be filed with or without premium processing. For some green card applicants, the sponsorship process will temporarily stop after this stage unless the State Department’s visa bulletin allows for the filing of the last part of the green card (Step 6).

Step 6: Adjustment of Status or Consular Processing

In Step 5, Form I-140 was filed with USCIS. Step 6 involves two potential pathways for the remaining part of the green card process, depending on the location of the worker and whether the worker’s priority date qualifies for the last phase of the green card under the visa bulletin.

a) Adjustment of Status: If the foreign worker is already in the U.S. under a valid nonimmigrant status, such as an H-1B or student visa, and their priority date (the date their PERM application was filed) is current under the visa bulletin, they may choose to adjust their status via Form I-485. This process entails transitioning from nonimmigrant status to lawful permanent resident status from within the U.S. While the Adjustment of Status is pending, a work authorization card and travel permission can be requested for the applicant and any qualifying family members.

b) Consular Processing: If the foreign worker is outside the U.S. or simply elects to process the last part of their green card abroad in their home country, they will undergo consular processing. This involves attending a visa interview at a U.S. consulate or embassy and, upon successful completion, receiving an immigrant visa stamped in their passport. They can then enter the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident, obtaining a green card.

Deciding which pathway to pursue for this last part of the green card process is important. If you are unsure, you can always select “Consular Processing” on your Form I-140 and then switch to “Adjustment of Status” from within the U.S. Switching from “Adjustment of Status” to “Consular Processing”, however, is much more difficult and may entail a lengthy delay from the National Visa Center, so it is best to think through potential filing venues ahead of Step 6, when possible.

Obtaining an employer-sponsored green card in the United States through PERM labor certification involves navigating through a series of complex procedures, starting with the Department of Labor and culminating with USCIS. From analysis of employment documents to wage determination to PERM application and subsequent Form I-140 filing, the journey can be labor intensive. It is crucial to seek guidance from an experienced immigration lawyer to ensure a strong foundation for your application and smooth and successful process.

We hope this blog post has provided valuable insight into one of the ways of obtaining an employer-sponsored green card in the U.S.

Zvezda Stadium formerly known as the Lenin Komsomol Stadium is a multi-purpose sports arena located in the Russian city of Perm. Home to local team FC Amkar Perm, the 17,000 capacity ground first opened in 1969 and in 2005 a decision was made to convert the grass to artificial turf.

Amkar Stadium Guide

Zvezda stadium (perm) history.

Zvezda, “Star” Stadium, is a multi-purpose sports arena which first opened on the 5th June 1969, initially known as “The Lenin Komsomol” in honour of both the former Leader and The Communist Union of Youth Movement. By the 1990s the political landscape had shifted to the right and once heralded Communist figures were becoming less popular with the renaming of Leningrad to St Petersburg being perhaps one of the most high profile examples of this.

Similarly, Amkar Perm’s home ground was renamed to “Zvezda Stadium” and after the 1985 facelift, the 17,000 capacity venue almost took on a new identity. Whilst traces of the Athletics track remained with a slightly longer distance between the stands and the pitch than newer venues, the running track was removed and colourful yellow and red seats helped forge a new identity for the aging set of facilities.

After finishing a record fourth in the Russian Premier League during the 2008 season Amkar earned the right to participate in the Europa Laeague and UEFA subsequently inspected the stadium, awarding it an official rating of 2 stars. This permitted the ground to host International Matches as well as games up to the quarter finals of both the Europa and Champions League Competitions.

Unfortunately, FC Amkar Perm failed to qualify for the group stages of the tournament after they were drawn against London based team, Fulham F.C. Coming close, Amkar Perm won the first leg at home 1 nil but lost 3-1 in the return fixture at Craven Cottage and subsequently lost on aggregate. To date an International match has yet to be held at the former Lenin Komsomol stadium.

Arsenal to sign David Raya on a groundbreaking deal – and this is how it favours the Gunners: report

Arsenal have agreed to bring David Raya to the Emirates Stadium on a kind of deal that has seldom been seen in the Premier League

Arsenal target David Raya in action for Brentford in the Premier League

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Brentford for David Raya – and it's an extremely unusual move.

The Gunners have confirmed that their No.2 keeper, United States international Matt Turner, has left for Nottingham Forest , paving the way for Raya to join. The Spaniard has worked previously with Arsenal's goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, with Cana said to be influential in this move.

Arsenal have previously been interested in Raya a number of times but given that they now have Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks, the need for another goalkeeper is minimal. Nevertheless, the Gunners appear to have struck the perfect deal.

David Ornstein of the Athletic has revealed that Raya is set to move across London on loan for an initial £3 million fee, with Arsenal retaining the option to sign the Brentford custodian for £27m come the end of the season, should they wish.

Raya was out of contract at the Gtech Community Stadium at the end of the season but has signed an extension to make the move happen. This means that Arsenal now have a year to rotate between Raya and Ramsdale before deciding who to keep – presumably, with Ramsdale able to command a big fee if he is sold.

VIDEO: Why Arsenal's Wait For A Premier League Title Is FINALLY Over

The move is extremely unusual for the Premier League, with very few first-choice players joining other sides on loan between with such a big option-to-buy clause. Given that very few clubs ever have two goalkeepers of this calibre for longer than a year, Arsenal have managed to broker the perfect deal to satisfy both players.

With Cana said to be Raya's "mentor" and Ramsdale being a valued member of Mikel Arteta's leadership group, Arsenal now have the best of both worlds, with Arteta being able to switch between two stylistically similar keepers between competitions.

Raya previously rejected a move to Tottenham Hotspur , according to reports.

The 27-year-old is valued by Transfermarkt to be worth €30m.

Mikel Arteta explains why Arsenal are signing David Raya

Arteta explains why he’s signing Raya

Arsenal clinched their first trophy of the season in an emphatic fashion after Leandro Trossard’s last-minute strike deflected off Manuel Akanji to take the game to penalties.

Fabio Vieira took the decisive spot-kick to give Mikel Arteta his third trophy in four years. Now the focus will be on claiming the most illustrious silverware.

The Gunners have strengthened the team, knowing that they are ever so close to beating Man City to the title this season, after narrowly missing out last campaign.

Ramsdale is a big reason we won today pic.twitter.com/TtzFmZBj3C — 🇨🇿 (@STU1VENBERG) August 6, 2023

Despite there not being a clearly visible weak spot in the goalkeeping department, the club feels that adding David Raya to the squad will bolster the current team.

After the Community Shield triumph, Mikel Arteta explained why there is need for more competition for his current number 1 at the Emirates Stadium.

“Competition here always exists whoever it is and that’s what he (Ramsdale) has to feel like.”

The Spaniard continued, “If we don’t feel like this, we are not going to get the best out of each player, so we better feel like this and make sure that we all feel like this, me first.”

We get linked with David Raya and suddenly Aaron Ramsdale starts saving penalties. Competition breeds competence. — WelBeast (@WelBeast) August 6, 2023

Raya is certainly not a player who can be considered as just a back-up. Last season, the 27-year-old was one of the best shot-stoppers in the league, surpassing Ramsdale on many metrics.

Many believe that the England international is bound to lose his number one spot to the current Brentford man. But after his heroics on Sunday, Ramsdale has made a strong case for himself.

In the end, the Englishman has made a career out of proving people wrong. And he will certainly be looking forward to doing it again when Raya arrives.

There is news from YouTube that Nottingham Forest and Arsenal have agreed to the transfer of Matt Turner.

If this is true, EPL has 4 teams with ex-Arsenal goalkeepers as 1st choice goalkeepers.

Yes I also noticed that

Leno, Martinez, once fighting for Arsenals #1 spot, are shining for their respective teams. We really sold both for a total of 18 million pounds..

Although rumor has it Nottingham will go for Henderson as well which likely will drop Turner to back up.

Arsenal are simply seizing the opportunity to sign a homegrown GK with years of EPL experience, good ball-playing ability and low price-tag

Raya will help us beat the homegrown quota and would likely play in knockout competitions. I just hope he’ll play better than Ospina

Gai, DRaya has always been a promising goal keeper with one of the best saves stats last season. Arteta seems a ruthless coach wanting results. This signing is to keep Ramsdale on his feet 24/7. It is also clear in some big games Havertz would be used as a false nine in the place of Jesus because of his positioning and aerial abilities… He is a hard working player with technical abities.. But really need to improve on his scoring. I didn’t faul him for the goal he missed any CF could have missed that it was a tight space And Matinelli should have scored if he was in form

I believe Raya will only play in cup competitions and Ramsdale will handle EPL

As for Havertz, many fans here didn’t seem to have watched his international games, where he played false-nine for Germany

@Sylva, Did you notice Odegaard pressed better, Havertz lack of press did affect Martineli, as most times, Martineli had no one to pass to, I hope you noticed the giants infront of Martineli on the rebound, it would have been a miracle if he scored that goal.

IMO, Trossard should be in for Odegaard in the 2nd half, Havertz needs all the support he can get to improve.

Should’ve kept Turner and sold Ramsdale.

Raya will end up costing Arsenal £25 million, and here is why.//Although i think £10 million plus addons is on the cheap side for the USA number one goal keeper Arsenal are selling to NottsForest, i believe that Arsenal will compromise at £25 million for the purchase of Raya.//This is due to his one year remaining contract situation and his experience, which will be fare to both parties, as both teams already have number one goal keepers already in that possition.// So Raya would be a number two for either Burnley or Arsenal at this present time as both teams have that position covered hence the compromise at £25 million for the number two goal keeper Raya.

Doubt Raya is coming in to sit on the bench.

Arteta was quoted about competition, and that wake up is exactly what Ramsdale needs.

He fell off at the end of last season, and some of that same sloppy play and complacent behavior showed again in the preseason.

Ramsdale needs to get benched for a bit and EARN his chances. Not convinced he’s better or more consistent than Raya

The big question bothering Arsenal fans and pundits alike, is Raya a genuine upgrade on Ramsdale. The young Englishman has established himself as a firm favorite under Arteta and give the Gunners over the past year, spending £27 mill on a new keeper does not exactly feel essential to lifting the big jug.

Although Ramsdale did not miss a single game in the last campaign, there were frustrations over mistakes in key moments, but he has went on and signed an extension to run until 2026.

They are reports Arteta cincerns has grown out of Ramsdale preseason form as opposed to his near post issues earlier in the last campaign The gaffer demands his keeper to play an active role in building play and varying passes into defense and midfield to kickstart attack.

Raya excelling in saves and attempted passes is no doubt driving the gaffer intrest in the Spaniard.

I don’t think Raya is an upgrade but he will push Ramsdale to be the best he can be.

Am incline to share your opinion Raya is not an upgrade on the young Englishman. So do you believe he’s coming to sit on the bench and push Ramsdale? Or playing the odd games and cup competitions? Could it be something he was told by the gaffer why he wants to join?

I think he is coming to compete, but he will get a number of pre set games from the domestic cups. Things happen, whether it’s injuries or form etc. I would expect he is being told that no player is untouchable and that he is not coming purely as a back up. Ramsdale replaced Leno fairly quickly but, he was always coming to replace him with the ability he has for distribution and the high crosses, although I don’t think the latter is his best attribute. It’s going to be interesting and I think that most people would retain the status quo, save the money, add to any Balogun sales income ….and buy a decent striker. That said I don’t know who that striker would be.

Fair enough 👍🏻

Raya is a big upgrade on Turner means we have 2 high quality keepers Raya for me is slightly the better keeper espec with the ball at his feet rarely misses a pass keeping them both happy is another matter but Arteta must have a plan in mind to do this the fact that Arsenal have agreed a deal with Forest for Turner suggests that Raya to Arsenal is a done deal!

Stats are saying different.

A top club needs two good goalkeepers, especially one that is going to play in the Premium league, Champion league and other cup competitions. We can play round about 60 games this season, so who even comes second will play so 20 plus games and with a couple of them probably very important. I am sorry but Turner is not good enough for a big club like Arsenal. Imagine Ramsdale plays all the games this season and the last game is the Champion league final and Ramsdale is injured, and we have Turner as our backup.

Raya is an upgrade on Leno and Turjer which strengthens the team. And he will defintiely push Ramsdale to stay on his best performance

“Despite there not being a clearly visible weak spot in the goalkeeping department” I completely disagree, Turner never filled me with any confidence and I bet that MA would agree.why do you think he didn’t play him,in our last EL game?
