Hot off the heels of a massive stadium tour with his band Poison, for the first time ever,  Bret Michaels  is   hitting the road for a limited run of live dates for his  2023 Parti Gras Tour.  Michaels has created this tour with a Mardi Gras feel in celebration of his great fans and hit music.   The renowned rockstar will bring a few of his rocker friends along for a mashup of all killer, no filler hits featuring special guests  Night Ranger  and  Jefferson Starship  with special appearances from  Steve Augeri  (former lead singer of Journey) and  Mark McGrath  (Sugar Ray), plus a nightly surprise guest to rock your world. 

Presented by Live Nation, the 12-city limited date run kicks off on Thursday, July 13th at the one and only Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI; known for its epic concerts and parties, going on to make stops across the U.S. including at The Pavilion at Star Lake, in his birthplace of Pittsburgh (PA), Holmdel (NJ), Tinley Park (IL), Tampa (FL), and more before wrapping up in Charlotte (NC) at PNC Music Pavilion on August 6th. The tour promises to be a modern day throwback to epic tailgate parties, positive energy, and a much needed nothing but a good vibe.

The summer run will feature support from Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, Steve Augeri, and Mark McGrath

Poison singer Bret Michaels has announced the Summer 2023 US “Parti Gras” tour featuring a stacked support cast of Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, Steve Augeri (ex-Journey), and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray).

Dates kick off July 13rd in Clarkston, Michigan, and run through August 6th in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A Citi Cardmember ticket pre-sales goes live today (December 5th) at 10 a.m. local time, and a Live Nation pre-sale begins Tuesday (December 6th) at 10 a.m. local time (code: CHEER ). General public sales start Friday (December 9th) at 10 a.m. local time. You can pick up tickets via Ticketmaster .

In addition to the aforementioned support package, a surprise guest will make an appearance each night to “rock your world,” according to the press release. The tour poster emphasizes that each performer will play “all the killer hits, no filler.”

'I'm a grateful guy': Bret Michaels on health, touring solo and with Poison and a love of bandanas

Bret Michaels is "cutting up I-80" on his way to a solo show in Fort Dodge, Iowa, a little more than a week before the kickoff of the summer rock circus known as The Stadium Tour.

The indefatigable Poison frontman – who is joining his bandmates , as well as Def Leppard , Motley Crue and Joan Jett and The Blackhearts on the three-and-a-half-month outing that began June 16 in Atlanta – is squeezing in a few concerts with the Bret Michaels Band, a practice he’ll continue throughout the summer.

But his strategy is identical whether it’s a Poison show or one of the 100-plus solo gigs he plays every year: “Bring 1,000% energy.”

The amiable Michaels, 59, appreciates his longevity in the music business – 36 years since Poison’s debut album – and approaches his career with refreshing self-awareness.

“I’m a grateful guy,” he tells USA TODAY from his RV. “To be on the good side of the dirt after all I’ve been through … I live to be on the road. It’s my freedom. It’s good for my soul.”

'Long may it last': Def Leppard trumpets new album, 45-year legacy

Michaels manages his Type 1 diabetes with workouts in his mobile gym during the drive 

Michaels has often publicly discussed living with Type 1 diabetes – he was diagnosed at age 6 – and the ensuing challenges for a rock star on the road. Controlling his blood sugar is his primary concern throughout the day, which he monitors through diet and dedication to exercise.

He’ll pull out his mountain bike for a ride at a truck stop, but for the endless hours of road travel between tour dates, Michaels fashioned a mobile gym. He drilled a “big bolt” into the ceiling of his RV for triceps and back exercises and also bolted down a stationary bike, which he rides a couple of hours at a time.

“Rather than eating my way through an eight-hour drive, I put on a movie, lock the bike down, seat belt myself in and ride for the whole thing,” he says. “I come from a family that likes to party, but as a diabetic, I have to find more balance.”

In an unexpected turn of events, Michaels pulled out of Poison's Nashville show on June 30 after being hospitalized for an "unforeseen medical complication." 

"I send my deepest apologies for being unable to rock the stage tonight," Michaels wrote on Instagram . "I am working on being back 100% very soon." 

The Poison singer collects his trademark bandanas at truck stops

Michaels’ TikTok showcasing his “patented headband diamond” folding technique of his trademark bandanas has generated more than 1.3 million views . He is unapologetic about both his love for the carefully arranged fabric (“It keeps me from sweating in my own face and it gives you swagger”) and the fact that he handpicks them from his favorite roadside stops.

“I have a drawer full of custom truck stop bandanas in a schmear of different colors. Just like life should be – all-inclusive,” he says.

AC/DC is his pre-performance jam

Michaels is proud that he’s “the real deal,” meaning no backing tracks to supplement his vocals and no Pro Tools manipulating any of the instruments’ sounds.

“It’s just straight-up live music and raw,” he says. “It’s the only way I know how to play.”

As his pre-stage prep, Michaels pops on his headphones and heads to the backstage stairs. “I always listen to AC/DC’s 'Thunderstruck'  as the last thing before I go on stage. Now I’m on (level) 10. It fires me up and boom! It’s like when a bull flies out of the gate.”

The hit catalog among the four artists on The Stadium Tour could be its own Top 40. While Michaels has affection for every Poison song, from "Talk Dirty to Me" and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" to "Nothin' But a Good Time" (“They’re like my children, I love them all for different reasons”), he’s also eager to hear some smashes from his peers.

“With Joan, my standards are ‘Bad Reputation’ and ‘I Love Rock ’N Roll' – that one is always going to be in my party playlist. Motley, I love listening to ‘Dr. Feelgood,’ ‘Wild Side’ is great, ‘Live Wire,’ and of course ‘‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ – you can’t miss with that one. And Def Leppard , I love all of their music, but ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’ and ‘Photograph,’ those are really good songs with such great harmonies.”

‘I built every house from brick one’

In addition to life as a rock ’n’ roller, Michaels is an entrepreneur, dabbling in film and TV and boasting an online store with branded wares.

The musician says he learned early that maintaining a lengthy career “means you take care of business, otherwise someone else will."

With Poison, he and bassist Bobby Dall "sign all the checks" and stay attuned to the needs of hardworking crew members. In his solo band, Michaels tends to his own team.

"There's got to be gas, hotels, per diems, where is everyone eating and sleeping," he says. “But I came from a basement in Pennsylvania, so I love being part of the business. I built every house from brick one, so if something goes wrong, I can go back to that foundation.”

In November, A&E will debut “The Origins of Bret Michaels,” a multipart documentary drawn from the musician’s “Auto-Scrap-Ography Vol. 1,” his visual-heavy memoir released in 2020.

“These are stories about me standing in my basement in front of my parents’ washer and dryer and having to move it to set up our amps,” Michael says. “The book gives you a real dive into my head. And in spite of myself, I am still here and still rocking.”

Bret Michaels Announces ‘Parti-Gras’ 2023 Tour With Night Ranger + Jefferson Starship

Bret Michaels knows how to bring the party and next summer the Poison frontman will take music fans back in time by hitting the road with rock legends Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship .

Dubbed the "Parti-Gras" tour, the trek will also feature guest turns by former Journey vocalist Steve Augeri, Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath and a still-to-be revealed "nightly surprise" that is guaranteed to rock your world.

Michaels returned to Poison in 2022 as part of the massive Stadium Tour featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Joan Jett, but this time out he's rocking solo within what promises to be a festival-like atmosphere.

Michaels states, “I created Parti-Gras as a sincere and grateful thank you to the fans, friends, and family who have rocked with me over the years. I promise to deliver positive energy, live, raw, real music, and all the bands will deliver sing-a-long hit after hit songs. Your voice will be hoarse after an epic, big, fun stage show.“

“After seeing Bret bring the party in every market of The Stadium Tour, this past year, we are looking forward to more of his ‘nothing, but a good vibe, high-energy performing’ on The Parti-Gras Tour next summer,” added Rick Franks from Global Touring Live Nation who are backing the run.

The 12-date trek gets underway July 13 in Clarkston, Michigan, sticking primarily to the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. before wrapping on Aug. 6 in Charlotte, N.C. All the cities, dates and venues for the run are listed below.

Pre-sale ticketing will start tomorrow (Dec. 6) at 10AM local time via Live Nation , with the tickets going on sale to the general public this Friday (Dec. 9) at 10AM local time. There are also VIP Meet & Greet tickets available via Michaels' website .

The concert was so awesome! I had a totally awesome time! I love everyone of his songs! I like how much energy he has! It was nice that he talked some in between songs! I like how he honored veterans! It is neat how he donates to charity! My husband went for me to see the concert and he came out enjoying it as much as I did! All I can say is Bret is so awesome!

It was an awesome show!! Been a fan since the 70's. I was super happy to get to meet him. Just wish i hadnt been so nervous so i could have talked to him more. He really seems like a very caring & compassionate man. He's very soft spoken. Wish i could have gotten to know him better. He seems like he would be fun to hang out with. I will definitely go to more of his concerts.maybe someday i will get to meet him again.

Bret Michaels Of Poison Is Very Fired Up About The NFL Draft For Some Reason

Bret Michaels is a lot of things. He's the frontman of ‘80s glam metal band Poison. He’s a reality TV star with his Rock of Love and a win on The Celebrity Apprentice. He could also very well be your father without your realizing it if your mom was a big Poison fan back in the day (hey, better him than CC Deville though).

And Michaels is a massive Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He ' s also one of the few singers from that era who can still belt out tunes as well as he did in the ‘80s, unlike certain people *cough* Vince Neil *cough*, but let’s focus on his love of the Steelers shall we?

Michaels hails from Pennsylvania and you've got to think that's where he came to be a Steelers fan (fun fact, guitarist Richie Kotzen who played with Poison in the ‘90s is a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. That’d be a fun tour bus during football season), and, like a true fan, he doesn't rest during the offseason.

No, in fact, he's incredibly fired up for the NFL Draft . He snagged a Terrible Towel and threw on his signature bandanna (I wonder if he ever mixed up the two) and made it known that he was ready for Draft Day.

Whoa. The Draft is like "Christmas Day meets New Year's Eve with a Thanksgiving kicker" you say, Brett? 

Holy cow, then the season opener must feel like trick or treating on a roller coaster times a thousand birthdays.

So, we know Michaels is a real fan (or at the very least owns a Terrible Towel), but now the real question: is he a Russell Wilson guy, a Justin Fields guy, or neither?

I feel like he'd have some very strong thoughts one way to another or would just be cool with whatever, man.

Michaels' Steelers made a surprise run to the postseason last year and overhauled their QB room in the early offseason with the aforementioned Wilson and Fields. They'll be picking 20th in the first round.

Russian singer offers to pay for funerals and treatments

Russian singer Shaman said he will pay for the funerals of the victims and treatments of those injured during the terror attack at the venue.

"We are all one big family. And in a family there is no such thing as somebody else's grief," the singer, known for his nationalistic views, said in a video posted on the Russian social media network Vkontakte to his more than 600,000 followers.

"My people, any troubles and misfortunes have always united our country. They have made Russia tougher and stronger. It will not be possible to frighten and break us this time either," he said. 

Correction: This story has been updated after an earlier version incorrectly stated that Shaman is a singer in the band Picnic.

At least 60 people died after Moscow's Crocus City hall attack

At least 60 people died as a result of the terrorist attack in Crocus on Friday, Russia's Investigative Committee said in a report on Saturday. 

There were also 145 people sent to hospitals, according to the Moscow Region’s Health Ministry, Russian state media TASS reported.

Over the last month, Russia has thwarted several ISIS related incidents in March alone, according to Russia’s state media agency RIA-Novosti.

Below is a list of different reported incidents across Russia that Russian authorities say involved people connected to ISIS, according to RIA:

• Reported on March 3: "The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reports that six criminals were neutralized during the counter-terrorist operation in the Ingush Karabulak. US warned Russia after steady stream of intelligence that ISIS-K was determined to attack, source says

Starting in November, there has been a steady stream of intelligence that ISIS-K was determined to attack in Russia, according to two sources familiar with the intelligence.

It was “fairly specific” intelligence, rising to the level of a duty to warn and the US intelligence community did indeed warn Russia, one of the sources said. But it’s not clear if this is directly tied to the March 7 warning by the US embassy in Moscow. 

Russian state media  reported  on March 7 that the FSB prevented an ISIS attack on a synagogue in Moscow, according to Reuters. The ISIS attackers were killed in a gunfight, the reports said.

A US official told CNN that the US is working to determine who is culpable for the attack at a Moscow concert venue.

Adrienne Watson, National Security Council spokesperson, issued a statement Friday on the US warning Russia about an attack.

"Earlier this month, the US government had information about a planned terrorist attack in Moscow – potentially targeting large gatherings, to include concerts – which prompted the State Department to issue a public advisory to Americans in Russia. The US Government also shared this information with Russian authorities in accordance with its longstanding ‘duty to warn’ policy."

Macron condemns Moscow terror attack and expresses solidarity with all Russians, Elysee Palace says

French President Emmanuel Macron said he "strongly condemns the terrorist attack claimed by the Islamic State" that left at least 40 people dead and more than 100 injured in a Moscow concert hall Friday, according to AFP and Reuters citing the Elysee Palace.

UN Security Council condemns "heinous" terrorist attack in Moscow

The United Nations Security Council condemned the "heinous and cowardly" attack at the Crocus concert hall in Krasnogorsk, in Moscow, on Friday, which left 40 dead and more than 140 people injured.

"The members of the Security Council expressed their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and to the Russian people, and they wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured," the UNSC said in a statement.

The members of the UNSC urged all States to cooperate with the Russian government to "hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice."

"The members of the Security Council reiterated that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed," it said.

Moscow terror attack leaves 115 people hospitalized, 60 in "serious condition," Russian health minister says

Following the deadliest terror attack on Moscow in decades, 115 people have been hospitalized of which 60 are in a "serious condition," according to Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko. 

“We hospitalized 115 people, five of them are children. One child is in serious condition,” Murashko said in an early morning statment on Saturday according to Russian state media TASS.

UN chief strongly condemns "terrorist attack" in Russia

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned "in the strongest possible terms today's terrorist attack at a concert hall outside Moscow," according to a statement released by deputy spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Farhan Haq. 

"The Secretary-General conveys his deep condolences to the bereaved families and the people and the Government of the Russian Federation. He wishes those injured a speedy recovery," the statement said.

Moscow urgently calls for blood donors to help treat dozens of wounded

Moscow City Duma Chairman Alexey Shaposhnikov late Friday called on Muscovites to come forward and give blood to help treat the dozens of wounded following Russia's deadliest terror attack in decades.

“After today’s tragedy in Crocus, many victims need donor blood. I ask you to donate blood for the wounded! Now this is very important, this is a matter of life and death for dozens of people,” Shaposhnikov said on Telegram

 Shaposhnikov listed several blood center facilities in the Moscow area that will accept donors throughout the weekend.
