On April 28, 2024, I used YVR Skylynx for a one day trip Vancouver Downtown (Hyatt Regency Hotel was pick up spot) to Whistler (Creekside was drop off spot), and my return trip from Whistler to Vancouver; I took the 8am departure from Downtown Vancouver which arrived at Whistler at 940am, right on time; and I took the 11am from Whistler (Creekside) back to Vancouver. I went to Whistler for a short visit. YVR Skylynx provided excellent service for my brief trip to Whistler. The same driver was driving the bus for both of my bus rides. He was fantastic!!! Such a kind guy and an excellent driver. He made sure everyone put on their seatbelts and understood the importance of safety. I strongly recommend YVR Skylynx, which I have used several times for trips from Vancouver to Whistler. You will not be disappointed if you use YVR Skylynx!

I was impressed with Skylynx service in a late April trip from YVR to Whistler and back. Both ways I enjoyed full size, clean, well maintained and comfortable buses, operated by competent and friendly drivers. Their website is easy to use. Note that Skylynx runs a tight ship so don’t be late.

Driver I had was a super friendly guy who uses vocabulary like "Sup bro" and makes you feel welcome, Seats were comfortable with leg rests, storage below the bus and carry on above seats. Had an outlet with two plugs and two usb ports.

Skylynx makes going to Whistler so easy. It's literally the next best thing besides being able to teleport there like nightcrawler, but close enough. Tickets are very reasonably priced and easy to book online, questions are answered promptly over email and the driver was fantastic.

Comfortable ride, great views enroute to Whistler! Bus was punctual, driver was friendly. Luggage was handled with care. Ride was comfortable. If you're travelling from downtown Vancouver to Whistler, I recommend not taking the "Express Bus". The regular bus that stops in Squamish is just off the highway and is a 5-10 minute layover only, not worth the extra fare for "Express" services. Would take again.

Take the bus. You'll thank yourself! Love Skylynx. After you take the bus to Whistler or to YVR you won't ever want to drive again. Skylynx is fast (you get all the bus lanes), comfortable, has wifi, bathroom, etc. The driver, Michael, lives in Whistler and is as knowledgeable about the area as he is helpful.

Needed to get to Whistler fast and didn't want to sit through the stops in DT and Squamish. Kiosk staff recommended the express bus to Whistler and it was perfect. Very smooth and quick trip from airport to Whistler. Already booked my return ticket from Whistler back to Airport later on the week with Skylynx.

Timely and courteous drivers. It made traveling to Whistler enjoyable.

I was very pleased with the trip from Vancouver to Squamish. The driver, Amanda, was very friendly when giving her professional speech, indicating the rules, important information about the itinerary and welcoming all passengers.

Hopped on the bus right out of the airport and dropped me off right in front of the Fairmont Chateau Hotel in Whistler. Good price, friendly drivers and staff and quick ride. Will look to travel with Skylynx again on my return trip back from Whistler to Van Airport.

How can I pay for my Vancouver to Whistler Day tour?

What is your cancellation policy?

You can book with confidence knowing that all daily sightseeing tours are fully cancellable up to 24-hours in advance of your tour. Plans can change even for groups. For parties of up to 10 guests, simply cancel within 24 hours of your tour time and receive a full refund. For groups of 11 or more, cancel 7 days or more before your scheduled tour time to receive a full refund.

Do I need to book a tour in advance?

This tour has a booking cutoff 2 hours prior to the departure time. For last minute bookings, call our Guest Services Team, who will be happy to check availability for you at 604.255.7272 or 1.877.669.2277.

Are their meals included in the tours?

Meals are not included in any of our tours. There are plenty of opportunities for you to purchase food during many of the stops you will make throughout the day. Feel free to also pack and bring your own snacks and lunch. We do not mind you eating on board any of our vehicles so you save your time to enjoy the stops!

Does the Whistler tour run if it rains?

Our tours run rain or shine which is great because it rains an average of 168 days a year here in Vancouver. They don’t call our city “Rain City” for no reason! We promise that you will not melt in the rain and we even provide complimentary umbrellas for you to use for the duration of the tours. Regardless of the weather, we assure you that your day will be spectacular.

Do you pick-up and drop-off at the Vancouver Airport?

Yes! For pick-ups , you will need to arrange them in advance. Meet us at The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel- a short walk from the terminal. Meet outside the front doors, at street level, under the awning at the time instructed in your confirmation.

Drop-off: When you arrange it in advance with us, we will drop-off to the Vancouver Airport after your tour. We require advance notice. In addition, if you are staying in Richmond, we do pick up at several airport area hotels, which you can find on our hotel pick-up page.

What should I wear on the Whistler & Sea to Sky Gondola tour?

Even though your tour is by bus, we will be stopping at various locations. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather depending on the season. Check the weather prior to arrival into Vancouver. Bring an umbrella or rain jacket we're called the "Rainy City" for a reason.

Main Terminal: After you have cleared customs and collected your luggage you may check-in by phone, email or in person. A courtesy phone is available at the information desk and the airport has free wifi. The Whistler Connection desk is located in the domestic terminal, near baggage claim 2. South Terminal: Whistler Connection does not pick-up directly from the south terminal. Please make your way to domestic arrivals in the main terminal and follow the check-in instructions for the main terminals. The airport provides a courtesy shuttle .

Pickup Times: Whistler Shuttle offers flexible departures. In the case of a delayed flight, Whistler shuttle will adjust their departure schedule to ensure that you are on the road to Whistler as soon as possible. The shuttle meets flights arriving from 9:00 AM to as late as 9:00 PM in Winter. If your flight arrives after these times, you will be transferred to the first shuttle the next morning.

Door to Door Service

Door to Door service is included and provides transportation to most hotels and condos located in the Village (Whistler Village, Upper Village, Village North and Creekside). Due to the landscape at Whistler Village, at some locations Whistler Shuttle are able to provide transportation service to a property closest to your hotel/condo only. Whistler shuttle are still able to drop you off at your specific location in Whistler for an additional fee of $40 per group. To enquire about specific drop-off/pick up locations, please call 1.800.944.7853 for more information. A list of all drop off/pick up locations is also available to view during the online checkout process.

Key Service

Due to the additional requirement to provide Key pick-up, check-in assistance and additional transportation, a Key Service fee of $25 per group will be levied (plus 5% GST). This fee is a one time fee (inbound only) and does include your return pick-up at your hotel/condo. Guests must make their checkout arrangments directly with the property management company prior to departure. The key service can be booked online. Please add to your cart when booking.

Baggage Policy

Limit to 2 pieces of luggage, not to exceed 22.5 kg (50lbs.) per piece and one carry on (6.8 kg / 15lbs and under). Overweight items will be subject to an additional fee per piece of $15.00 (includes tax) and space availability.

Bike Ski, Snowboard & Golf Club Policy

EXPRESS Service : YVR Skylynx’s EXPRESS service conducts pick-ups from YVR Vancouver Airport then is a direct express transfer to Whistler. In Whistler, the EXPRESS service picks up and drops off at Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa, The Westin Resort & Spa, and Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

Passengers may bring a maximum of 5 suitcases and 1 carry-on bag per person.

Bikes, Skis & Golf Clubs

Passengers may bring a maximum of 2 sets of golf clubs, skis or snowboards per person.

Each ticket holder may bring one standard size suitcase or duffel bag no larger than 158 centimeters (62 inches) and weighing a maximum of 23 kilos (50 pounds) plus one carry-on bag that can fit in the overhead storage compartment. Please note that overhead storage space on buses is typically smaller than found in airplanes and measures 23x 40.5x51 cm (9x16x20 inches). Bringing a small suitcase as a carry-on bag weighing no more than 12 kg (25 lbs) is perfectly fine. Additional luggage is charged $15 each for a single or return trip.

Each ticket holder may also bring one set of skis or snowboard or golf clubs. Additional skis or snowboards or golf clubs are charged $15 which also covers the return trip if a return trip is purchased at the same time. Customers wishing to transport a bicycle or tandem are charged $20 per bike for a return trip.

Epic Rides Fares

Pick up / drop off locations, vancouver downtown to/from whistler.

Burrard Station Downtown Vancouver - Hyatt/Burrard sky train station. Melville St. door entrance to the Hyatt. Melville St. is about 100m long at this block and there could be other buses at this stop when Epic Rides pull up, please watch for Epic Rides pulling up behind them, along Melville St, beside the Hyatt. Gateway Bus Loop Whistler Village - located in the heart of Whistler Village beside the Visitor Centre.

Richmond to Whistler

River Rock Casino (Richmond) - Epic Rides pick up passengers a 5 minute train ride (requires a small fare) from the Airport at the River Rock Casino and Resort in Richmond (get off at Bridgeport Station - 3rd stop). The airport train to Epic Rides pick up location is just 5 minutes away. After you get off the train, the pick up location is just a 1 minute walk to the front of the River Rock Casino and Resort. Please note this route is offered as Round Trip Only (one way trips not offered at this time). YVR Departure Gate - Epic Rides drops off passengers on the return trip from Whistler at the YVR Departures Gate between the International and Domestic Terminals. Hotel or Residence in Whistler - Epic Rides drops off and pick up at all hotels and hostels in Whistler. They also can drop off at residential addresses in Whistler (as far north as Rainbow), though they do tow trailers and may not be able to access all residental streets. In which case, they will get you as close as possible to your location.

This can save you up to an hour of travel time, making this the fastest and most convenient shuttle between Vancouver and Whistler – clocking in at just 90 minutes .

You get to ride in style in a luxurious 11-passenger Mercedes Sprinter van or deluxe 24-passenger mini bus coach for the ultimate in luxury and comfort.

Whistler Bus Departure Points

Vancouver international airport.

You can find the YVR Skylynx kiosk alongside the exit by the international/US arrivals area – behind the wooden Musqueam welcome statues near the escalator.

You’ll receive further instructions from staff upon arrival. While tickets can be purchased at the kiosk, you’re much better off booking in advance.

Just make sure not to book your Whistler bus too soon after arrival. In fact, I’d recommend budgeting at least 2 hours from landing for international passengers.

This will allow for possible delays and provide ample time to claim your baggage and clear customs.  With the crazy nature of travel in the post-COVID era, it’s simply better to play it safe. 

Pacific Central Station is a railway and intercity bus station located on the fringes of Downtown Vancouver. So, it will likely be more useful for locals or those staying in East Vancouver.

If this sounds like you, the station is located a short walk from the Main Street-Science World Skytrain. This places it about two stops from Burrard and Granville Stations – which are the stops closest to most Downtown hotels .

The most popular stop is the most central one – on Melville Street outside the Burrard Skytrain Station. If you’re staying at any of the best hotels in Vancouver , this will likely be your departure point of choice.

The pickup point is alongside the Hyatt Regency Hotel , so if you’re looking for a quick hack to make an early bus – consider staying at the Hyatt. 

Service is also available to and from the scenic Sea to Sky city of Squamish, though by appointment only. You’ll be dropped off at the Squamish Adventure Centre at 38551 Loggers Lane, beside Highway 99.

One unfortunate thing to note is that travellers to Squamish are charged the same fare as those going to Whistler – despite the fact that it is roughly half the distance. 

Whistler Village 

There are two drop-off points available once you arrive in Whistler: Creekside and the Whistler Gateway Loop .

Most travellers will get off in the Whistler Village, the terminus stop.

However, some may require service to the reservation-only stop at Creekside Village. Simply follow the instructions when booking and in your email after purchase. You’ll be dropped at the bus stop outside of Legends.

Heading to Whistler Village? Well, many of our favourite Whistler hotels are located just meters away from the Whistler Gateway Loop, so you may be fortunate enough to be able to walk. 

But even if you’re staying a little further afield, you’re likely only a 5-minute cab ride away – and there should be taxis waiting nearby.
