Best India Group Tours Compared (2021)

Trying to decide where to visit in India and which is the best India group tour for you can be overwhelming – this sprawling subcontinent has more than its share of places you’d want to experience – so to help you choose India small group tour itinerary that’s right for you, here are our favourite group tours India has and a breakdown of which itineraries we love for first time and repeat visitors to India!

This post contains compensated affiliate links, and if you book a tour through one of our links, we may earn a commission. For more info please see our disclosure . Thank you for supporting Soul Travel!

The Best India Group Tours

My first trip to India – rather than being a solo expedition – was in fact as part of a guided tour group. It turned out to be one of the best travel decisions I’ve made. Since then, I’ve gone on to solo and duo travel around India for several months over the last four years, but that first trip to India was what sealed the deal for me.

Watching the sun rise over the hazy banks of the Ganges in the holy city of Varanasi, I knew that this was just the beginning.

We’ve written much about travel in India, and we know from first hand experience that India can be overwhelming for first time (and repeat visitors). As a huge country / subcontinent, it can be hard to get a grasp of distances, understand what’s possible within one trip, and know where to start. Especially if you’re restricted to one or two weeks for your trip. After all, the last thing you want is to spend most of your time in transit!

ⓘ  TIP:  Planning a trip to India? Join our free   India Travel Facebook group here !

With that in mind, we highly recommend taking a group tour on your first trip to India, or whenever you might find yourself short on time. Not only do group tours pack more in than you could do on your own, but they also allow to you to sit back, relax and truly enjoy your trip (rather than wrestling with the  Indian Railways  train booking website.. which is a story on its own!)

Our Favourite Group Tours in India

The company we are recommending in this post is G Adventures, who we’ve travelled with and love their travel style in general. Their India group trips are typically small-group tours which use (importantly) a local guide. Their have different styles in place suiting those who are backpacking, or those who want a bit more comfort.

We love them for the amount of public transport many of their trips include (hello local experience without the booking hassle) and also for their responsible tourism commitments through their not-for-profit division,  Planeterra , that has a number of projects it supports throughout India. G Adventures also have a “Ripple Score” per tour which provides an estimate of the percentage of your money that stays and benefits the local economy.

We’ve picked out some of our favourite India tour itineraries, according to different interests, preferences and price points!

Quick Reference India Group Tour Comparison Chart

North India Group Tour Itineraries

Many people come to India for it’s flagship offerings: The Taj Mahal, the monuments and history of New Delhi, and the candy-like pink of princely Jaipur. Although they are without question some of India’s finest sights, they are also the most chaotic and touristed. We recommend including some other areas of India in your trip, too, if you can, or exploring India’s more natural beauty of the south.

Delhi to Kathmandu – 15 Days, Standard Comfort

If you want to pack in both India and Nepal, this tour could be the one for you. Take in the crazy streets of  Old Delhi, the Taj Mahal, beautiful Orchha  with its riverside tombs and once-in-a-lifetime Varanasi before heading into Nepal to explore  Chitwan National Park and Pokhara before winding up in Kathmandu . This one’s definitely on our bucket list, and there’s also an option to do this tour in reverse.

National Geographic Delhi & Rajasthan ‘Mysteries of India’  – 15 Days, Upgraded Comfort

This is a  classic India tour itinerary that covers quintessential Rajasthan  (Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer) plus an opportunity to get off the beaten track and experience local culture in Rajasthani villages too. The trip is run by G Adventures under the National Geographic Journeys label which means  upgraded accommodations, authentic local experiences, and guaranteed adventure . I bumped into a group on this trip during my stay at  Chandelao Garh homestay  and both the group and tour guide were amazing. The trip visits two G Adventures Planeterra not for profit projects and includes meals with local families and overnights at homestays for a more local, responsible experience.

Golden Triangle – Delhi, Agra, Jaipur – 8 Days, Standard Comfort

India Golden Triangle small group tour

A great option for those tight on time on and on a budget is this one week trip around India’s main highlights:  Jaipur, Delhi and Agra  with some stops off at lesser known  Fatehpur Sikri , the former capital of the Mughals.

Combination North & South India Group Tours

18-30 somethings delhi to goa – 15 days – basic.

Delhi to Goa small group tour

Perfect for backpackers and under 30’s on a shoestring, this is a great value trip that takes you around  North India and Rajasthan  before winding south to  Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Mumbai and finishing up in Goa  where you can happily add on days or week to enjoy some time on the beach, a spot of yoga, or explore under your own steam.

Delhi to Kochi by Rail – 21 Days – Standard Comfort

Delhi to Kochi Group Tour

There’s no better way to travel India (in our humble opinion at least…) than by train. Many of my favourite memories and connections from travelling in India were made while on lengthy train journeys. Making new friends and chatting over chai passing through changing landscapes is the stuff of any slow traveller’s dream. Train travel is in air conditioned sleeper cars so you don’t need to worry about losing sleep. This one’s for those who would rather avoid flying and go the long haul – taking in the sights of  Rajasthan and Agra  before heading south to  Mumbai, Goa, Hampi, Mysore before winding up in Kerala  just in time to float off on the backwaters… bliss!

India Encompassed – 28 Days – Standard Comfort

North and south India group tour

Enter the mammoth tour! Cover Delhi, Agra, Varanasi and the exotic temples of Khajuraho before heading south to Cochin to explore the highlights of Kerala, Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu. South and North India are incomparable – when it comes to food, climate, scenery, language, and lots more! If you’d like to mix swaying coconut palms,  Kerala’s backwaters and the once French town of Pondicherry  with  sailing the Ganges  and looking for tigers in northern heartland of India, this trip is for you! This is a much more representative introduction to India for those who have time ?

South India Group Tours

Best of southern india – 14 days – standard comfort.

South India group tour

Explore both the west and eastern sides of Southern India and take in the  formerly French enclave of Pondicherry, Kerala’s backwaters, Mysore’s spectacular Palace  and plenty more. This trip is great for nature-lovers too, with the chance to visit Thekkady (for Periyar National Park) and Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary which is well off the beaten traveller path.

Goa to Kochi – Southern India by Rail – 10 Days – Standard Comfort

southern India by rail tour

Wind inland from coastal Goa to explore among the  ruins of Hampi , to regal palaces and off-beat temples as you explore Karnataka – one of India’s less visited but incredibly beautiful states. Learn about  India’s coffee industry on a coffee plantation  as well as visiting the Tibetan Namdroling Monastery. Finish in beautiful Cochin with plenty of opportunities for exploring Kerala further!

Off-Beat India Group Tours

North east india & darjeeling by rail – 13 days – standard comfort.

North East India Group tour

Kolkata is one of our favourite Indian cities, yet far fewer foreign visitors make it here than Delhi and Mumbai – which we feel is reason alone to give it a try! Filled with colonial architecture, cricket pitches and yellow taxis,  Kolkata  is home to the literati of India as well as where the Ganges meets the ocean. This trip takes you  down the Ganges through Varanasi  and then up to beautiful North East India for a ride on the  World Heritage-listed Darjeeling Himalayan Railway , which with its strong indigenous cultures and tea plantations a plenty, is guaranteed to give you a different taste of India.

How to Choose the Best India Group Tour for You

India has a lot to offer and it can be hard to work out which trip to take when you want to just see it all! Generally speaking North and South India have different things to offer: The climate starkly sets them apart for example. In winter, Northern India gets chilly at nights while the days are filled with dry sunshine, while southern India has a humid, sub-tropical climate year round.

We strongly recommend  avoiding Northern India, especially Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan during summer – April, May and June  as temperatures can be searingly hot (up to 50 degrees celsius in some places) and the region becomes a dust bowl. High season and the best weather in these regions is from October to March, but you’ll find the crowds then too. An alternative time to visit is during the monsoon season in August / September as the rains are refreshing, but it doesn’t rain all the time.

Likewise, the beaches of Goa and Kerala get lashed by rain during summer months with peak monsoon usually running between July – October (although these days, it’s changing a lot). The best time to visit South India is also during the winter (October to March) unless you like the rains.

Generally speaking, North India has more in the way of Forts, Monuments and Mughal history (although there are plenty of stunning palaces in South India too). South India wins hands down for lush jungle landscapes, paddy fields, beaches, relaxed vibes and incredible  thalis  served on banana leaves.

This much is certainly true: Whichever trip you pick, you’re in for travel memories of a lifetime. Enjoy!

When is the best time to visit India?

The best time to visit India largely depends on the region you plan to explore, as the country experiences diverse climates and weather patterns. Here's a breakdown of the seasons and the ideal time to visit different parts of India:

Winter (October to February):

  • This is generally considered the peak tourist season in India, especially for popular destinations like Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan, and Kerala.
  • The weather is pleasant and mild, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C (50°F to 77°F) in most parts of the country.
  • It's an excellent time for cultural sightseeing, exploring historical monuments, and enjoying outdoor activities.

Summer (March to June):

  • Summers in India can be scorching, particularly in the central and northern regions. Temperatures often exceed 40°C (104°F) in places like Delhi, Rajasthan, and parts of South India.
  • Hill stations and higher altitude destinations, such as Shimla, Darjeeling, and the Himalayan region, provide relief from the heat and are popular summer retreats.
  • If you're planning to visit Ladakh or other high-altitude regions, this is the only time when roads are accessible due to the snowmelt.

Monsoon (June to September):

  • Monsoon season varies across different regions of India, with heavy rainfall and high humidity.
  • Coastal regions like Goa, Kerala, and parts of the Western Ghats receive heavy rainfall, which can hinder outdoor activities and beach visits.
  • However, this period showcases lush green landscapes, and it's a great time for nature enthusiasts, as many wildlife sanctuaries and national parks come alive with flora and fauna.

Shoulder Seasons:

  • The months of February, March, and September to November are considered shoulder seasons, as they transition between the peak tourist seasons.
  • During these months, you can often find more affordable prices, fewer crowds, and pleasant weather in many parts of the country.

It's important to note that India's vast size and geographic diversity result in variations in weather patterns. Before planning your trip, research the specific region(s) you intend to visit to ensure you choose the best time based on their specific climatic conditions.

Overall, the winter months of October to February are generally considered the best time to visit India for most regions, as the weather is pleasant and ideal for exploring the country's rich cultural heritage and popular attractions.

Do I require a visa for my visit to India?

Yes, most travellers visiting India will require a visa. The type of visa and the application process may vary depending on your nationality and the purpose of your visit. Here are some important details regarding the Indian visa requirements:

Tourist Visa: If you are planning to visit India for tourism, sightseeing, visiting friends or relatives, or participating in short-term courses or conferences, you will typically need to apply for a Tourist Visa (e-Visa or regular visa). The e-Visa is available for citizens of many countries and can be applied for online. The regular visa requires submitting an application at the Indian embassy or consulate in your home country.

Business Visa: If you are traveling to India for business-related purposes, such as meetings, conferences, or trade activities, you will need to apply for a Business Visa. This visa is also available as an e-Visa or a regular visa, depending on your nationality.

Other Types of Visas: India offers various types of visas for specific purposes, such as medical treatment, research, employment, or long-term stays. The application process and requirements for these visas may differ, and it is advisable to consult the nearest Indian embassy or consulate or visit the official website of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for detailed information.

It is essential to check the specific visa requirements well in advance of your planned travel dates, as the application process can take time. Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in India.

Additionally, the e-Visa facility provides a streamlined and convenient process for many travellers, allowing them to apply online and receive an electronic visa via email. However, it is crucial to carefully read and follow the instructions and requirements provided by the Indian government's official e-Visa website.

Remember to plan and apply for your visa well in advance to avoid any last-minute complications and ensure a smooth and hassle-free entry into India.

What is the local currency in India, and can I use credit cards?

The local currency in India is the Indian Rupee (INR). It is advisable to carry some local currency for small purchases, local markets, and areas where cash is the preferred mode of payment.

Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities, upscale hotels, restaurants, and larger establishments. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are the most commonly accepted cards. However, it's important to note that smaller establishments, local markets, and rural areas may prefer cash transactions.

To ensure a smooth experience when using credit cards, here are a few tips:

Inform your bank: Prior to your trip, inform your bank or credit card provider about your travel plans to India. This helps prevent any potential issues with your card being flagged for suspicious activity when used abroad.

Carry multiple payment options: It's advisable to carry a mix of payment options, including cash, credit cards, and a debit card. This provides flexibility in case a particular card is not accepted or encounters issues.

Keep cash for emergencies: While credit cards are widely accepted, it's wise to carry some cash for emergencies, smaller establishments, or remote areas where card payment may not be available.

Check for card acceptance: Before making a purchase, inquire whether credit cards are accepted. Look for signage indicating card acceptance, or ask the establishment directly to avoid any surprises.

ATM availability: ATMs are readily available in major cities and towns across India. They are a convenient way to withdraw cash in the local currency. However, be cautious when using ATMs in remote or unfamiliar areas and prioritise using ATMs located in secure and well-lit areas.

Remember to keep your credit cards and cash secure while traveling. Use ATMs located inside reputable banks or secure locations, and be cautious of card skimming devices.

It's always a good idea to carry some local currency for smaller transactions, tipping, and places where card payments may not be feasible. Be sure to exchange your currency at authorised currency exchange counters or banks to ensure fair rates and avoid counterfeit notes.

Lastly, keep track of your expenses and retain receipts for reference and potential reimbursement purposes.

Will I require any vaccination for my visit to India?

Yes, it is recommended to have certain vaccinations before traveling to India to protect yourself against common diseases. The specific vaccinations you may require depend on factors such as your current immunisation status, the duration of your stay, the areas you plan to visit, and your individual health condition. It is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or travel health clinic at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to discuss your specific needs. They can provide personalised advice based on your medical history and the latest recommendations.

Here are some vaccinations commonly recommended for travellers to India:

Routine Vaccinations: Ensure that your routine vaccinations, such as measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTaP), polio, and seasonal influenza, are up to date.

Hepatitis A: Hepatitis A is a viral infection transmitted through contaminated food or water. It is recommended for all travellers to India, as there is a risk of exposure.

Typhoid: Typhoid fever can be contracted through contaminated food or water. Vaccination is recommended, particularly if you plan to explore rural areas or have a longer stay in India.

Hepatitis B: Hepatitis B is a viral infection transmitted through contact with infected blood or body fluids. Vaccination is recommended for travellers who may have close contact with the local population, require medical procedures, or engage in activities that may increase the risk of exposure.

Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis (Tdap): If you haven't received a tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis booster in the past 10 years, it is advisable to get vaccinated before your trip.

Polio: Polio is still endemic in some parts of India. Ensure you have received a polio vaccine as per your country's guidelines.

Japanese Encephalitis: This vaccine is recommended for travellers planning to spend a month or longer in rural areas of India, particularly during the monsoon season, when the risk of mosquito-borne diseases is higher.

Rabies: If you plan to spend significant time outdoors, work with animals, or will be in remote areas where medical help may not be readily available, you may consider a pre-exposure rabies vaccination.

It is important to note that these are general recommendations, and your healthcare provider will assess your specific needs based on various factors. They may also provide advice on other health considerations such as malaria prophylaxis, traveler's diarrhea prevention, and general health and safety measures during your trip to India.

Is India a safe destination to visit?

India is generally a safe destination for tourists, but like any other country, it's important to exercise caution and be aware of certain factors to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Here are some tips to help you stay safe while visiting India:

Research and plan: Before your trip, research the areas you plan to visit and familiarise yourself with local customs, laws, and cultural norms. Be aware of any travel advisories or warnings issued by your government or relevant authorities.

Stay vigilant: While India is generally safe, it's advisable to stay alert, especially in crowded places, tourist areas, and public transportation. Be cautious of your belongings and avoid displaying wealth or valuable items that may attract unwanted attention.

Dress modestly: Respect the local culture by dressing modestly, particularly when visiting religious sites. Cover your shoulders, avoid wearing revealing clothing, and remove your shoes when required.

Transportation safety: Use licensed and reputable transportation services. When using taxis or rickshaws, negotiate fares beforehand or use metered taxis. If using public transportation, keep an eye on your belongings and be cautious of pickpockets.

Street vendors and scams: Be cautious of street vendors who may overcharge or try to sell counterfeit goods. Use reputable shops and restaurants recommended by trusted sources. Be aware of common scams and avoid sharing personal information or engaging in financial transactions with unknown individuals.

Food and water safety: Drink bottled water and avoid consuming raw or uncooked food from street vendors unless you are confident in its hygiene and quality. Opt for hot, freshly cooked meals from reputable establishments.

Health precautions: Take necessary health precautions, such as getting required vaccinations, using insect repellent to prevent mosquito bites, and following proper food and water hygiene practices. Carry necessary medications and travel insurance that covers medical expenses.

Solo travel: If you are traveling solo, inform someone about your whereabouts and itinerary. Use reliable transportation options, stay in well-reviewed accommodations, and avoid traveling alone at night, especially in unfamiliar areas.

Respect local customs: Respect local customs, traditions, and religious practices. Seek guidance and observe appropriate behaviuor when visiting religious sites or participating in cultural events.

Use common sense: Trust your instincts and use common sense throughout your trip. If something feels unsafe or uncomfortable, remove yourself from the situation.

By being aware, prepared, and respectful, you can have a safe and enriching experience while exploring the incredible diversity and beauty that India has to offer.

Is India a good destination for a solo traveller?

India can be a rewarding destination for solo travelers, offering unique experiences and opportunities for personal growth. However, it's important to note that traveling solo in India requires some extra preparation and awareness. Here are some factors to consider when deciding if India is the right destination for your solo adventure:

Diversity of Experiences: India is a vast and diverse country with a rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and a wide range of experiences. Whether you're exploring historical sites, immersing yourself in spirituality, or indulging in diverse cuisines, India has something to offer every solo traveler.

Warm Hospitality: Indian people are known for their warmth, hospitality, and curiosity towards visitors. You're likely to encounter friendly locals who are willing to help and engage in conversations. This can make your solo journey more enjoyable and provide opportunities to connect with the local culture.

Safety Precautions: While India is generally safe for solo travelers, it's important to take precautions to ensure your safety. Research your destinations, stay in well-reviewed accommodations, and use reputable transportation services. Avoid walking alone in isolated areas at night and be cautious of your belongings in crowded places.

Cultural Sensitivity: India has diverse cultural norms and traditions. It's important to respect and understand local customs, dress modestly, and be mindful of your behavior, particularly when visiting religious sites or rural areas. Being culturally sensitive can help you have a more immersive and respectful experience.

Transportation and Logistics: India has a well-connected transportation system, including trains, buses, and domestic flights, making it relatively easy to navigate the country as a solo traveler. However, it's advisable to plan your routes in advance, book transportation tickets in advance whenever possible, and have a general understanding of the local transportation system.

Community and Group Experiences: If you're seeking social interactions and want to meet fellow travelers, India offers opportunities for joining group tours, volunteering, or participating in yoga and meditation retreats. These can provide a sense of community and companionship during your solo journey.

Trusting Your Intuition: As a solo traveler, it's important to trust your instincts and make informed decisions. If something feels uncomfortable or unsafe, remove yourself from the situation and seek help or guidance from trusted sources.

Ultimately, whether India is a good destination for a solo traveler depends on your personal preferences, comfort level, and travel experience. It can be an enriching and transformative experience, but it's essential to plan, prepare, and maintain a level of vigilance to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.

Regional Diversity: India's culinary landscape is incredibly diverse, with each region having its own unique dishes and cooking styles. From the spicy curries of the North to the coconut-based dishes of the South, and from the street food delights of Mumbai to the aromatic biryanis of Hyderabad, every region offers a distinct culinary experience.

Spices and Flavors: Indian cuisine is famous for its aromatic spices, such as turmeric, cumin, coriander, cardamom, and cloves. These spices are used in various combinations to create flavorful dishes. From mild and fragrant to fiery and spicy, the range of flavors in Indian cuisine is extensive.

Can I drink the tap water in India?

No, it is generally not advisable to drink tap water in India. The tap water in most parts of India is not considered safe for drinking due to the presence of bacteria, parasites, and other contaminants that can cause waterborne diseases. To stay healthy and avoid any potential illnesses, it is recommended to drink bottled water or use water purification methods.

When in India, opt for sealed bottled water from reliable brands that can be easily found in grocery stores, hotels, and restaurants. Make sure the seal is intact before consuming the water. Additionally, you can use water purification methods such as boiling, using water purifying tablets, or using water filters to make tap water safe for drinking.

It's also important to be cautious about consuming beverages or ice that may be made with tap water, such as juices, lassi (yogurt-based drink), and iced drinks. It is advisable to choose drinks made with bottled water or boiled water to avoid any potential risks.

Remember to also use bottled or purified water for brushing your teeth and washing fruits and vegetables. Avoid swallowing water while showering or bathing as a precaution.

By taking these precautions and being mindful of the water you consume, you can reduce the risk of waterborne illnesses and have a safe and enjoyable trip to India.

Are there any cultural norms in India I should follow?

Yes, India has a rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions, and it's important to respect and follow certain cultural norms during your visit. Here are some key cultural norms to keep in mind:

Dress Modestly: India is a conservative country, particularly in rural areas and religious sites. It is recommended to dress modestly, covering your shoulders, chest, and knees, especially when visiting temples, mosques, and other places of worship. This shows respect for the local customs and helps you avoid unwanted attention.

Removing Shoes: When entering places of worship, homes, or certain establishments, it is customary to remove your shoes. Look for signs or follow the lead of others to determine if you should remove your footwear.

Greetings and Respect: Indians place a strong emphasis on respect and courtesy. When meeting locals, a traditional greeting is "Namaste" with folded hands. It's polite to use respectful language and address people by their titles (such as "sir" or "madam") until given permission to use their first name.

Public Displays of Affection: While showing affection between couples is accepted in some urban areas, it's generally more conservative in smaller towns and rural areas. It's advisable to be mindful and avoid excessive displays of affection in public to respect local customs.

Etiquette in Temples: When visiting temples, mosques, or other religious sites, be respectful of the sacred space. Dress appropriately, remove your shoes, and follow any specific guidelines or rituals. Seek permission before taking photographs, and avoid touching or disrespecting religious idols or artifacts.

Dining Etiquette: When eating with your hands, which is common in certain regions and for certain dishes, use your right hand as the left hand is traditionally considered unclean. Wash your hands before and after meals. It's customary to accept food or drinks with your right hand, as the left hand is traditionally considered impure.

Religious Sensitivity: India is a multicultural and multi-religious country. Respect the beliefs and practices of different religions and be mindful of local customs and rituals. Seek permission before taking photographs or participating in religious ceremonies.

Personal Space: India can be crowded and bustling, especially in urban areas. While personal space may be different from what you are accustomed to, it's important to respect others' personal boundaries and be mindful of personal space when interacting with locals.

Photography Etiquette: Always seek permission before taking photographs of people, particularly in rural areas or when photographing religious ceremonies. Respect any signs or restrictions on photography in certain locations.

Left Hand and Feet: In Indian culture, the left hand is traditionally associated with hygiene purposes and is considered unclean. Avoid using your left hand for giving or receiving items, particularly food. Similarly, avoid pointing the soles of your feet at others, as it is considered disrespectful.

By being aware of and respecting these cultural norms, you can have a more immersive and respectful experience while visiting India and foster positive interactions with the local people.

How does the rooming work on tours?

Small group tours in India typically involve a set itinerary where you travel with a group of fellow travellers and a tour leader/guide. Accommodation arrangements  vary depending on the specific tour you choose. Here are some common aspects of rooming arrangements on small group tours:

Shared Rooms: In order to promote camaraderie and facilitate interaction among group members, most tours arrange shared accommodation. This means you will be paired with another member of the same gender from the group to share a room. Roommates may sometimes change periodically throughout the tour.

Single Supplement: If you prefer to have your own room and privacy, you may have the option to pay a single supplement fee. This additional fee allows you to have your own room for the duration of the tour. However, please note that single supplements can vary in cost and availability.

Roommate Matching: Tour operators usually offer roommate matching services, where they try to pair you with a suitable roommate based on your preferences, such as age range. This can help ensure compatibility and a more enjoyable experience for all participants.

Rooming Preferences: When booking your small group tour, it's important to communicate your rooming preferences to the tour operator. If you have specific requirements or preferences, such as sharing with a friend or a specific roommate request, it's advisable to inform the tour operator during the booking process.

It's important to carefully read the tour details and inclusions provided by the tour operator to understand their specific rooming policies. If having your own room is a priority, make sure to inquire about the availability of single supplements and any associated costs before booking your tour.

Keep in mind that while sharing a room with a fellow traveller can be a great way to meet new people and build connections, having your own room provides more privacy and flexibility. Consider your preferences and the dynamics of the tour when deciding whether to opt for a shared room or pay for a single supplement.

Remember to communicate your needs and preferences clearly with the tour operator during the booking process to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable accommodation experience on your small group tour in India.

India's Bestseller - 5 Day Golden Triangle - Delhi, Agra & Jaipur (Guaranteed Departure)

Our adventure in India was great thanks to our great driver Sita Ram. He was our point of reference as this company has several customer service people. Our guides were all very knowledgeable and we enjoyed every single site. Trip and everything. Hotels were fine 3 star hotels with the exception of the one in Delhi, (Ajanta) that hotel was more like a one star hotel. The one in Agra and Jaipur were great. We loved Phatepur Sikri , Amazing place ! and Ali the tour guide there was one of the most professional guides I’ve ever known . We really learned everything about the place . Overall experience was great! I would definitely use KK holidays again to tour India.

Golden Triangle Tour With Ranthambore

The trip was well organized. The driver was very good. The hotels were ok except for the Lily Pool Heritage in Jaipur. The room was worn out. Room service was provided only after 3 complaints at 8 pm and done in a lousy fashion. Moreover, the guys at the reception were anything but nice and helpful

Colorful India with Taj Mahal & Rajasthan Tour

Colorful India with Taj Mahal & Rajasthan

It was not an expensive tour and some aspects will reflect that. The hotels aren't 4/5 star but they are clean I'd in a bit of disrepair in some situations. My driver Lakhan Singh made me feel safe and cared for which was very important as a solo traveller and I'd recommend him to other solo women. If I wanted roadside chai he'd ask me to stay in the car and he'd bring me the chai so I didn't have to deal with stares or rude questions, and when my tour ran a bit late he checked in repeatedly to make sure everything was ok. The tour guides are a range of skill and experience but they'll be different for every city. My favorites were Nipendra in Udaipur and Bhawani in Jaipur. They customized the tour on the fly for me when I expressed that I wanted different experiences. If I were to do it again the only change I'd make is the length. A day extra in Delhi and Jaipur would have been ideal for me, and while I'm sure the company would have made those adjustments for me, it was my first trip to India and I wasn't expecting to be overwhelmed by the beautiful sights.

Golden Triangle Tour with Varanasi Tour

Golden Triangle Tour with Varanasi

PROS : OUR DRIVER SUSHIL !!! This trip was an amazing overview of the North Indian experience. Our driver Sushil was a blessing for us throughout the trip! He was very professional, adaptable and constantly ensuring that we are enjoying ourselves. He was also very adaptable whenever we wanted to slightly steer away from the schedule. I will be recommending him to all my friends and family who are thinking about going on this trip. The guides were also very knowledgeable. CON: The stay at Jaipur was a convenient hotel as it was close to the monuments but the smell from the nearby sewage was unbearable. We moved the room but I am pretty sure it didn't help much. I also had the displeasure of eating uncooked raw chicken at the hotel - luckily I didn't get sick. Please avoid that hotel from your roster. OVERALL, we were very satisfied and will be booking with you guys again :) THANK YOU

Premium India in Depth Tour

Premium India in Depth

Intrepid Premium India in Depth (November 13 - 25) Mumbai - Delhi Excellent tour leader along with very good local informative guides. 3 changes in accommodation; Mumbai - Gordon House Hotel is excellent, well priced and only 1 street back from Gateway to India but the company changed to Fariyas Hotel, Mumbai which was been renovated as well as painted so very noisy, couldn't use the pool and scaffolding all around. Definitely not ideal. Our second night in Delhi was also cancelled at Jaypee Siddharth Hotel though privately booked and paid for months before the tour so had to find alternative accommodation while on the tour and they told the travel agents they were "closed for renovations" however the tour was booked and stayed there and no renovations were occuring. Hadoti Palace Hotel in Bundi looked nice and rooms were big but not clean especially the toilet and shower. Otherwise all hotels were very nice and rated accurately; cleaning the showers/washrooms would have helped with the mouldy smell but that is somewhat consistent in most countries. November is the start of wedding season in India which are very loud and noisy and have no time restrictions so be prepared for that if going at this time of year. Tour involves quite a number of days travelling in a bus/coach for 4 - 6 hours with a stop every 2 - 3 hours. Rest stops are OK at best with only snack food to purchase. Adjusting the departure time would have helped with timeframes as quite a few days we were getting lunch around 2 - 3 pm when hotel kitchens were closed. Definitely not enough free time for shopping on your own with organized evenings most nights or in a venue on the outside of towns. Toured the markets but they were only a walk through with the group and no time to stop and shop. Restaurants and food was amazing and no one was unwell on the trip. 2 days in Ranthambhore Park was too long and could have done in 1.5 days with more time in Agra. Overall a very good trip for myself and my father (aged 79).

What people love about Fully Guided Tours in India

Very informative,a bit of a challenge ,had a great time.
Although I LOVED everything about this trip, I have to say that the experience was 10 times enhanced by our amazing CEO, Manvendra. He went above and beyond and truly made this the trip of a lifetime

Teams are divided into pairs, with each pair sitting with their backs touching. One person is given a shape and the other a sheet and a pen. The person holding the image must give verbal instructions to their partner as to how to draw the image without telling them what the image or shape is. Masters 2024 props, golf odds: Expert reveals top PGA Tour prop bets, parlay picks for Augusta National

Mike mcclure locked in his expert pga golf prop picks and parlay for the masters 2024 at augusta national.

team tours in india

The first 2024 Masters tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday after weather delayed the start of the opening round. At 100-1 to win outright in the 2024 Masters odds, it's unlikely that Tiger Woods will pick up his sixth career green jacket this week at the Masters 2024. However, there are still plenty of intriguing Masters Tiger props on the board for golf bettors to consider before he tees off. The latest 2024 Masters prop bets list Woods' Round 1 score over/under at 73.5, with the Over favored at -165 (risk $165 to win $100).

Other Tiger prop picks include a top-10 overall finish paying +900 and a top-20 performance returning +350. Which 2024 Masters props should you target involving Woods and every other golfer in the 2024 Masters field? Before locking in your 2024 Masters prop picks or entering Masters pool picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his  golf picks . He is up almost $9,500 on his best bets since the restart.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure's picks has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the Masters golf tournament and just locked in his top prop picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure's Masters 2024 prop picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 Masters prop picks

We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite Masters prop picks is Ludvig Aberg to be the top debutant at +275. Despite turning pro less than a year ago, Aberg comes to Augusta in strong form. He's already picked up wins on both the PGA Tour and European Tour in the past seven months.

He's also made every cut during his 2024 PGA Tour schedule and hasn't finished worse than 25th in his past six events. His average finish position during that span is 12.8 and he's posted four rounds of 66 or lower this year, including an astonishing 63 in Round 4 of the Sentry. Wyndham Clark is the only other first-time Masters player who can claim a comparable recent run to Aberg, so McClure loves the value of betting on Aberg at a return that approaches 3-1.  You can see who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make Masters 2024 prop picks

McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the 2024 Masters, including a prop that pays almost 20-1 and comes from an unlikely player. You can find out who it is, and check out all of McClure's Masters prop picks at SportsLine .

Who wins the Masters 2024, and which golfer should you target for almost a 20-1 payout? Visit SportsLine now to get Mike McClure's Masters 2024 prop picks, all from the golf expert who is up almost $9,500 on his best bets since 2020 , and find out.

New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) New Zealand has planned to mark the centenary of the 1926 tour of an Indian Army hockey team, which included a young Dhyan Chand, to that country as part of its vision to celebrate the “breadth of our sporting relationship”, its envoy said on Friday.

Outgoing New Zealand’s High Commissioner to India David Pine said 2026 will be a “special year of our relationship”.

He was speaking during an interaction hosted by think-tank Ananta Aspen Centre here.

Asked about his nation’s plan to mark the centenary of the historic tour, the envoy said, “Yes, we want to use it as a trigger to celebrate the breadth of our sporting relationship.” He said an informal committee has shaped up and things will grow with time.

“In 2026, we are looking to celebrate that. In 1926, the Indian Army Hockey Team came to New Zealand with great Dhyan Chand. They stayed for three months,” Pine said, adding the touring team absolutely changed the way people engaged with it.

“So, we will celebrate all our sporting connections,” he said, adding that beyond cricket, weightlifting, judo, boxing and other sports connections will be celebrated.

New Zealand is also expecting visit of an Indian prime minister to that country in year 2026.

“It’s been a long-standing invitation,” he said.

The Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) was formed in 1925, one year after the formation of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), according to the official website of the Olympics.

“The IHF organised its first international tour in 1926 to New Zealand, where the Indian hockey men’s team played 21 matches and won 18. The tournament saw the emergence of a young Dhyan Chand, who would go on to become arguably the best hockey player the world has ever seen,” it said.

According to New Zealand Indian Sports Association website, the touring 1926 Indian Army hockey team is “significant in both Indian and New Zealand sporting history because it was the first overseas tour by an Indian hockey team”.

“The star player of this team was Dhyan Chand whose magical Indian dribble and goal scoring captured the imagination of the public wherever he played. He toured again in 1935 as captain of the all-India team and was a member of the victorious Indian teams at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games,” it said. PTI KND AS AS

Indian hockey team concedes two late goals to lose 3-1 to Australia in fourth Test

Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored India’s only goal. India’s fifth and final Test match of the tour will be played on Saturday.

India vs Australia hockey match.

The Indian men’s hockey team conceded two goals in the final quarter to lose 3-1 to Australia in its fourth game of the five-match series in Perth on Friday.

This was India’s fourth loss on the tour in as many games. The Australian men’s hockey team won the opening game 5-1, the second 4-2 and the previous contest by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh (12’) gave his team the lead in the first quarter but Jeremy Hayward (19’, 47’) and Jack Welch (54’) responded for the Kookaburras with three goals.

The Indian hockey team , two places below Australia in the FIH rankings at fifth, came out with a positive intent. Mandeep Singh, left unmarked in the circle, unleashed a powerful shot on goal but was denied by the Australian goalkeeper Johan Durst in the first minute.

However, India continued to press forward and earned multiple penalty corners. They finally got the breakthrough in the 12th minute through Harmanpreet Singh’s searing drag-flick.

The Kookaburras came out all guns blazing in the second quarter. They capitalised on their second PC of the quarter with Jeremy Hayward expertly placing the ball into the net.

The match continued with intense back-and-forth action, yet neither team managed to find the back of the net again in the second quarter and the third.

The final quarter commenced with Australia swiftly entering the circle and earning consecutive penalty corners. Jeremy Hayward gave his team the lead by converting the second penalty corner.

India almost immediately breached the Kookaburras’ defence but could not get the final touches to the ball.

The hosts then extended their advantage with Jack Welch finding the net from a penalty corner, making it 3-1 in Australia's favour.

India secured three consecutive penalty corners in the final stages of the game but could not convert their chances.

The Indian men’s hockey team will face Australia for the fifth and final match of the series, part of India’s Paris 2024 Olympics preparations, at the same venue on Saturday.
