În noaptea de sâmbătă spre duminică, petrecerea s-ar muta la Castelul Bran. Întregul castel ar fi fost închiriat pentru miliardarii americanii. Paparazi români i-au surprins în timp ce urcau pe elicopterele private care duceau spre Brașov pe Peter Thiel, fondatorul PayPal și partenerul lui, miliardarul Matt Danzeisen. Se zvonește că la petrecere ar putea fi prezenți Angelina Jolie.

The richest person in the world, and the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk , has reportedly hosted a Halloween party at Bran Castle, in Romania.

The Tesla and SpaceX founder is reported to have invited billionaires and celebrities to a Halloween party at Dracula’s Castle.

This weekend, the entrepreneur has reportedly been enjoying a weekend in Transylvania and has hired a director to put together a special Dracula experience for his guests.

But, did Elon Musk really throw a Halloween party at Bran Castle, and, if he did, who was on the exclusive guest list?

Here’s everything you need to know.

According to the Romanian publication Romania Journal, Musk hosted a Halloween party at Bran Castle, in Transylvania.

It’s alleged that some of the world’s richest billionaires joined Musk at the castle in Brasov, which is known as Dracula’s Castle, due to its connection with Vlad the Impaler.

On Saturday, 29 October, Musk took to Twitter, and said: “Fresh baked bread & pastries are some of the great joys of life”.

This was in turn interpreted by the publication Romanian Insider as Musk enjoying Romanian bread and pastries, which are traditionally given to guests as a welcome.

Romanian media outlet Media Flux reports that Musk rented the entire castle for himself and his friends to enjoy, with guests rumoured to be in attendance including PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, Google’s co-founders Sergei Brin and Larry Page and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie.

Elsewhere, Swedish actress Julia Sanstrom was also rumoured to be present, after she shared stories of herself in Transylvania, and dressed as a vampire on her Instagram.

Other Romanian media outlets reported that Dracula’s Girls, a well-known cheerleader group from Târgoviște will also be present, but full details, and what happened, are not yet revealed.

Bran Castle is one of Romania’s most famous landmarks, and it was built in 1388 and is located 30 km from the town of Brasov.

The castle is best known for the legend of Count Dracula, taken from the novel of Bram Stoker, whose character is a Transylvanian Count, with a castle perched on a rock, that overlooks a valley.

As a popular tourist destination, the castle was initially known as Turciu, and after the second world war, communist authorities turned it into a museum.

Oficiali MAI: „Elon Musk nu a intrat în România”

Petrecerea de la Castelul Bran a unora dintre cei mai bogați oameni ai lumii a avut loc azi-noapte - la aceasta au participat inclusiv Peter Thiel, fondatorul PayPal, și partenerul lui, miliardarul Matt Danzeisen. Însă Elon Musk și Angelina Jolie nu au ajuns în România, au confirmat, pentru Libertatea, două surse concordante din arme diferite ale Ministerului Afacerilor Interne, instituții care ar fi trebuit să cunoască intrarea unor cetățeni americani în țară.

„Încă din septembrie 2021, mai multe firme foarte importante de pază și securitate din străinătate au venit să inspecteze Castelul de la Bran”, a declarat pentru Libertatea un înalt ofițer din MAI, care a rugat să i se păstreze confidențialitatea. 

„După ce au făcut inspecția, au dat verde și s-au făcut foarte multe rezervări încă de anul trecut, în perioada noiembrie – decembrie, pentru sărbătoarea de Halloween din 2022”, a continuat acesta. 

Sâmbătă, site-ul Mediaflux a publicat informația potrivit căreia Elon Musk a închiriat Castelul Bran pentru prietenii săi din Silicon Valley și alte nume importante din industria entertainment. Presa românească, inclusiv Libertatea, a încercat să obțină informații de la organizatori. Aceștia, pe surse, au confirmat petrecerea și că noul patron al Twitter va veni în țară. Inclusiv Libertatea a anunțat ca „Elon Musk va veni în România” . 

Câteva publicații, printre care G4media sau Cotidianul, au fost mai rezervate și au anunțat petrecerea, dar au precizat că nu există o confirmare oficială privind venirea celui mai bogat om din lume în România. Inclusiv Libertatea a menționat lipsa unei confirmări oficiale a venirii lui Elon Musk în articolele care au urmat sâmbătă și duminică, ziua petrecerii. 

Petrecerea a avut loc, iar multe dintre televiziuni și site-uri au continuat să spună că Musk a venit în țară și că a luat masa la o stână din Poiana Brașov. După care a mers la petrecerea propriu-zisă de duminică noaptea spre luni, de la Castelul Bran. 

Luni dimineață, Libertatea a obținut confirmarea de la doi oficiali, din două instituții separate ale MAI, că „Elon Musk nu a intrat în România”. „Nici Angelina Jolie nu a intrat în România”, a spus unul dintre ei. Fiind cetățeni americani, ambii ar fi avut nevoie, indiferent care ar fi fost calea pe care ar fi venit în România, să apară în evidența unuia dintre punctele de frontieră ale țării.

Cei doi oficiali ai Ministerului Afacerilor Interne, ambii cu poziții de coordonare, acces la informații și care au solicitat păstrarea confidențialității, fac parte din două instituții separate, care, legal, ar fi trebuit să știe de intrarea lui Elon Musk în țară. 

Libertatea cere scuze publicului său, dar și celor care au preluat informația de la noi, pentru că s-a hazardat publicând sâmbătă anticiparea potrivit căreia Elon Musk ar urma să sosească duminică seara în țară.

Nu este vina surselor pe care le-am citat, ci doar a noastră, pentru că nu am fost mai scrupuloși în a analiza și verifica informația. Faptul că, mai apoi, nu am afirmat și că Elon Musk a ajuns în țară, nu ne scuză eroarea inițială.

Avai, dar câtă corectitudine, domnule… :) Aștept cu interes textele despre articolul în care “Libertatea” și-a bătut joc de o bătrână care le sesizase ocuparea abuzivă a unei părți a curții blocului de către unul dintre proprietarii de la parter sau despre cel în care afirma că, de vină pentru neplata datoriilor din 2021 în 2021, sunt măririle salariale din 2022 (la Metrorex). Vă pup. :)

Consultantul în turism Răzvan Pascu a comentat pe pagina sa de Facebook evenimentul. Aceste este de părere că o postare pe care o poate face afaceristul despre România va avea impact asumpra turismului din țara noastră. El mai dă de înțeles că oamenii politici ar trebui să profite de vizita americanului.

„Dacă aș fi președintele sau premierul României, aș face orice pentru a obține o întâlnire de 10 minute cu cel mai bogat și influent om de afaceri al planetei, chiar dacă este la o petrecere privată și e în vacanță privată. M-aș costumă în Dracula și aș stă toată noaptea în față castelului Bran, m-aș vopsi pe față și mi-aș pune coarne, habar n-am, dar aș face ceva trăznit, care să contrasteze puternic cu funcția de președinte sau prim-ministru, că să ajung la el și să îi spun în câteva minute de ce merită să investească în România.

Dacă aș fi ministrul turismului mi-a cheltui tot salariul pe un an de zile și aș instala panouri led mobile la intrarea în castelul Bran cu mesaje funny, sau aș ridică un balon cu aer cald cu mesaje personalizate deasupra castelului, sau aș aduce camioane întregi cu bomboane de Halloween în față castelului, sau aș aruncă flyere cu "Thank you for the visit!" din elicopter sau orice altceva trăznit mi-ar veni în minte (după o discuție cu oameni mai creativi decât mine).

Aș chema în noaptea asta la un brainstorming toate agențiile de publicitate/creație din România și aș încerca să gândesc ceva crazy că să îl fac pe Musk să posteze ceva mișto despre România.

According to reporting from Romania Journal , Musk gathered at the castle with a cadre of ultra-wealthy friends.

If the location of Elon's Halloween party seems a little unusual to you, you may not have realized that Bran Castle is famous for its connection to Dracula. That's because the castle was the basis for Bram Stoker's description of his fictional creation.

On Oct. 29, Elon tweeted, "Fresh baked bread and pastries are some of the great joys of life," which was interpreted by many as a suggestion that he was in Romania, where giving baked goods is traditional while welcoming guests.

Further reporting suggests that Elon rented the entire castle out for him and his guests and that Peter Thiel, Google co-founders Sergei Brin and Larry Page, and Angelina Jolie were all in attendance. Rumors also suggest that Elon hired a director to put together a special Dracula-themed experience for his guests and that they were all flown to the castle via helicopter.

Why is Bran Castle called Dracula's castle?

Although it's undeniably cool to hold a Halloween party inside Dracula's castle, some may wonder why this particular Romanian castle has the honor of being associated with the vampire. As it turns out, the castle was the basis for Bram Stoker's description of where Count Dracula lived, even though the character that Dracula is based on, Vlad Tepes, never lived in the castle.

Vlad Tepes, who was also known as Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracul, became a widely known figure in Transylvania in large part thanks to his cruelty and brutality. Books describing the violence of his actions were among the best-selling books to be published in Germanic languages in the early days of widely circulated print. By modern standards, it could be said that he was a war criminal who committed crimes against humanity.

According to the local newspaper ziare.com, the party will include Sergey Brin (founder of Google), Luke Nosek (co-founder of PayPal), Steve Jurvetson (founder of Hotmail and current board member of Space X), Larry Page (co-founder of Google), as well as several celebrities from the art world. Peter Thiel, founder of PayPal, and billionaire Matt Danzeisen have arrived in Romania by private plane and checked into a luxury hotel in the capital. The party would be organized by the owner of Bran Castle, Archduke Dominic von Habsburg. According to another Romanian newspaper, gandul.ro, more than 200 important people have announced their participation in this event. This makes it probably the most important event of its kind in Romania. The title in Gandul.ro, suggested that the Tesla owner would have rented the castle for the event. The event will be attended by business leaders, artists, producers, etc. The guests would have been picked up from the official lounge and transported to a luxury hotel in the capital’s center, Bucharest. According to mediaflux.ro, the organizers wanted to keep the event secret, but it leaked. On the link, you will see several celebrities traveling to their accommodation in Romania’s capital. Built on a rock, Bran Castle currently houses the Bran Museum, a museum that stretches over its four floors. Every year, tourists from all over the world arrive here in search of the legend of Count Dracula, and the guide emphasizes his mythical side. The history of Bran Castle fascinates them alike. The first documentary attestation of Bran Castle is represented by a deed issued on November 19, 1377 from the King Ludovic I of Anjou. Through this document, the inhabitants of the city of Brasov received the privilege of building a stone fortress in Bran. Between the years 1419-1424, the fortress became the property of another king, Sigismund, who was the ally of the lord of Tara Romaneasca (Wallachia), Mircea the Elder, against the Turks. At the end of the 15th century, the fortification was subordinated to the authority of the Szekler Committee, passing under the leadership of the Voivodeship of Transylvania during the reign of Iancu de Hunedoara. The connection of Vlad Ţepeş (the mythical Dracula) with Bran was also recorded during this period. More precisely, Iancu de Hunedoara entrusted Vlad Tepes, the leader of Tara Romaneasca (Wallachia) with the defense of the pass to Transylvania, a pass guarded by the fortress. The history of Bran Castle continues, and on December 1, 1920, the City Council of Brasov donated this castle to Queen Maria, queen of Great Romania, as a symbol of gratitude for her contribution to the Great Union of 1918. The castle was restored in the period 1920-1927 under the direction of the architect of the Royal Court, Carol Liman. During the reign of Queen Maria, Bran Castle experienced its heyday as a royal residence, being one of her favorite places. The guide also informs tourists eager for stories that Queen Maria’s heart was buried, for a short time, in Bran. Although in 1938, Queen Maria’s daughter, Princess Ileana, received this Castle by will, in 1948 the royal family was expelled from the country by the communist regime, and Bran Castle became the property of the Romanian state. Ten years after the installation of the communist regime in Romania, Bran Castle was opened as a museum of history and feudal art. The dilapidated state of the Castle led to its closure in 1987 and its reopening only in 1993, as a result of restoration works. Currently, Bran Castle is the property of Princess Ileana’s descendant, Dominic de Habsburg. The main reason why foreign tourists choose to visit Bran Castle is represented by the legend that has been created around it. Thus, the most representative legend of Transylvania, that of Dracula or Vlad Ţepes, is indisputably linked to Bran Castle. The myth of Count Dracula is based on the fiction novel “Dracula”, published in Great Britain in 1897, with the Irish writer Bram Stoker as its author. The characters in the novel “Dracula” are the result of the author’s fantasy, but the deeds of Count Dracula and his end are based on popular beliefs related to the existence of evil forces, such as vampires or undead. Bran Castle is known by tourists from all over the world as Dracula’s Castle. This is also one of the reasons why it was included by CNN journalists in a top 10 of medieval castles. “The administrators of the Bran Castle, but also the Romanian tourism officials, insist on highlighting the connection between the castle and Vlad Tepeş, a source of inspiration for Bram Stoker when he wrote “Count Dracula”. The connections are subtle, there’s no denying the eerie charm of this massive structure. Some of the exhibited pieces of furniture belonged to Queen Maria of Romania, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, who, after refusing the marriage proposal of King George V of England, married the King of Romania”, is the presentation given to the fortification by today. Bran Castle has preserved its external brilliance, history and legend.

Chad and Romania are situated on separate continents and share few historical or geographical links. They don't even have an embassy in each other's country.

The two countries rarely come up in the same sentence. That is, unless you're discussing their flags.

According to the online Encyclopedia Britannica , Romania initially displayed a flag with horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and red before settling on its current vertical design in 1861.

Chad decided on its own flag design after it achieved independence from France in 1959.

The country initially considered a green, yellow, and red design but quickly discovered Mali had already taken the same pattern. It then swapped the green for the blue — inadvertently creating a flag that was almost identical to Romania's.

Chad's flag is not the only one to resemble other flags — here are some other examples

The flag of Mali, the country Chad tried to avoid copying, is similar to Senegal's — a single green star in the middle appears to separate the two flags. Guinea's also replicates Mali's design but is reversed.

Both Indonesia and Monaco fly two horizontal stripes: red over white. Poland similarly flies white over red.

Ireland and Ivory Coast share the same design, but it is flipped on the flagpole.

All of these similarities may have stemmed from coincidence, but other flags have a specific reason for slight variations to a theme.

Ecuador, Venezuela, and Colombia all sport the same-colored horizontal stripes, but that's because they used to be part of the same country of Gran Colombia, which dissolved in 1822, according to Britannica.

Elon Musk just discovered that Chad and Romania have almost identical flags - but they're not the only lookalikes

• Elon Musk inadvertently turned up one of life's great mysteries by turning to Twitter to question why Chad and Romania have almost identical flags.
• The two countries - situated in Central Africa and Eastern Europe - both use a three-stripe flag in blue, yellow and red, in slightly different shades.
• Romania's flag predates Chad's by almost 100 years and the two share no real history.
• According to Britannica, Chad initially had a green stripe but chose to substitute it with blue because it closely resembled Mali's flag.

Aside from slight variations in color shading, their flags appear identical - an observation that Tesla CEO Elon Musk appears to have discovered and shared with Twitter.

According to online encyclopedia Britannica , Romania initially displayed a flag with horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and red, before settling on its current vertical design in 1861.

Chad, meanwhile, didn't achieve independence from France until 1959, when it decided on its own flag design.

The country initially considered a green, yellow, and red design, but quickly discovered Mali had already taken the same pattern. It then swapped the green for the blue to inadvertently fly a flag that was almost identical to Romania's. The three colors; however, represent the country's rivers (blue), desert (yellow) and the blood of its independence martyrs (red).

Chad's flag is not the only one to resemble other flags. Here are some other examples of similar-looking flags.
