Our story starts in 2002 and was founded on passion, experience, and dedication. Company President and New York native, Beth Lockwood, launched Details NYC looking to create a DMC where clients would have access to the hidden gems of the city she loves. More importantly, clients would feel they have a trusted guide dedicated to their event’s success. Her company would focus on a hands-on, personalized approach and this has become evident in her committed team and repeat clients year after year.

Over the years, we have been privileged to serve hundreds of clients and companies, producing one-of-a-kind events & meetings for groups of all sizes. We have been able to share sides of New York City where visitors can marvel at its unique culture and feel part of the city’s story. In 2012 we launched our Green Scene NYC Events division, creating eco-friendly, healthful, community-focused events for clients. This evolved into the Green Scene Method, our signature process of infusing eco-conscious elements into our events and helping clients leave something kind behind.

Beth Lockwood, President

President of Details NYC, ​​Beth Lockwood is a native and passionate New Yorker with 30+ years of experience in the group tourism and hotel sector. With an unparalleled background in the planning and management of corporate incentive programs, meetings, and special interest groups, she is knowledgeable and innovative in terms of the services she provides. However, Beth is not just the business owner, but a hands-on member of the Details NYC team who brings with her a down-to-earth personality and a resourceful nature, as well as her passion for sustainability. A self-motivated leader with a problem-solving mindset, she is committed to and guarantees the success of each and every event.

Beth first entered the industry through hospitality, before accepting a position in the leisure group department at the legendary Warwick Hotel in New York City. Soon after, she landed a job in the New York based sales office of a large Mexican hotel chain. There, she spent several years as a Group Sales Manager and traveled throughout Mexico. Having fallen in love with the country, she accepted a position with a prestigious Destination Management Company in the beautiful resort of Cancun, Mexico, and lived there for 2 years. Eventually, she felt a calling to return to NYC where she spent the next six years working for a leading DMC. That is until 2002, when she noticed a demand for a wider range of services she could provide and broke off to launch Details NYC.

Over the last two decades, Beth has built Details NYC, a Certified Woman Owned Business, into the thoughtful, creative and welcoming DMC that it is today, and continually strives to push herself and her staff to seek better ways to serve their clients. During the pandemic, Beth has received event safety training with the WHO’s Covid-19 Operational Planning Guideline, as well as ADMEI’s Emergency Preparedness certification, in order to promote the safety of both her clients and her city. She has also certified as a Sustainable Event Strategist through MPI – tying into her deep value of conservation and eco-conscious practices.

When Beth is not working with clients or wrangling vendors, she can be found capturing the beauty and culture of the New York boroughs with her camera or volunteering for her favorite animal rescue.

Jacki Abramowitz, CMP, is an Award-Winning Global Conference & Event Producer with over three decades of experience designing, planning and executing corporate meetings & events, incentive programs, high end social events, galas, and fundraisers. Known for cutting edge creativity and distinctive, one-of-a-kind experiences, Jacki’s passion for perfection, unparalleled customer service, and flawless execution have exceeded her clients’ expectations in destinations all over the world. With her extensive network of vendors and industry partners, Jacki leverages the relationships that she’s built over the years to create memorable experiences to thrill her clients and their guests. Jacki’s passion for music and live entertainment, as well as her close contacts in the music industry, has allowed her to provide her clients with unique opportunities to enhance their events.

Jacki spent most of her career planning events for C-Suite level executives with a variety of global iconic brands. Her events were considered “best in class” and often fostered client networking and developed new brand ambassadors for the host organization. Details NYC Operations Manager Gene Sturges has a long history in the leisure and corporate travel industry. Years of organizing and managing itineraries at home in NYC and in far flung corners of the globe have shaped his ability for keeping all the ducks in a row. Organization is the name of the game when it comes to managing logistical details for groups both large and small, and this is where Gene excels.

Gene has been associated with Details NYC for 20 years and has put his experience leading international tour groups and managing transportation and activities for corporate meeting and incentive programs to good use on the varied and exciting projects with the company.

Head Tour Guide at Details NYC, Juan Aviles has an affection for NYC that is apparent to everyone who has had the good fortune to have him as their guide. His love for the city and everything it has to offer is virtually limitless and he makes a priority of searching out the new things as well as keeping up with all the tried-and-true NYC treasures. In a city like New York with such diverse offerings, from high culture to the “guilty pleasure” low, it’s essential to have a guide with an innate ability to find, and share, the best of both…and everything in between.

Meeting & Events Manager at Details NYC, Migdalia Llado boasts over 20 years of experience in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions industry . In addition to remarkable organization and event management skills she also brings contagious levels of creativity and excitement. This, in combination with her knowledge of and love for sharing all New York City has to offer, is how she pulls off successful and memorable events. As a bilingual planner, Migdalia also provides Spanish translations for the material pertaining to a specific program. When Migdalia is not planning events or scouting exciting new event locations, she spends her time enjoying the bright lights and theatre scene of Broadway!

Prior to working at Details NYC, Migdalia spent numerous years at a prestigious Incentive House in NYC. There she joyfully traveled the world while managing programs for Fortune 500 Companies, and eagerly worked alongside presidents, executive producers and various Destination Management Companies. Eventually she branched out on her own and was a highly sought after Meeting Planner and Conference Director, whose work ranged from the World Cup and Olympics to Presidential Events. It was during this time that Migdalia worked as a freelancer for and quickly became an asset to Details NYC .  Needless to say, we were quick to swoop in and ensure that she would remain a part of our team & are so glad we did!

100-Year-Old Woman Mistakenly Identified as Unaccompanied Minor on Flights Due to Glitch with Birth Year, 1923

"I’m going through my second childhood," jokes the centenarian in an Instagram video

At 100 years old, Mildred Kirschenbaum still enjoys traveling — but since reaching her milestone birthday last August, she’s had an unusual experience flying.

The centenarian, who once owned a travel agency in New York and is still a registered agent,  says she now shows up as an “unescorted minor” due to a glitch in the airlines’ computer systems.

“The code is two digits for the month, two digits for the day, and two digits for the year. I was born in 1923. So I put in 23,” Mildred explains in a video posted on the Instagram account of her daughter, Gayle.

“Soon as I check in, I’m an unescorted minor,” she continues. “The supervisor has to come. And they have to see me right through security. No one seems to know how to correct it.”

Mildred, who’s previously gone viral on social media for sharing advice on life and longevity, adds with her trademark humor, “I’m going through my second childhood.”

While the birth year error requires extra time to sort out at the airport before boarding, she tries not to stress too much over it.

“I allow myself a half hour at the counter,” she tells PEOPLE. “I'm not going to get myself worked up with it.”

The Florida resident shared the video ahead of a May trip to New York, where Gayle lives. But she’s taken multiple flights since turning 100, including traveling to London in September for a transatlantic cruise. And a quick jaunt to New York for an appearance on Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd , just last week.

While the mother-daughter duo often fly Delta, they say the problem isn’t limited to one airline — nor was it caused by a booking mistake on Mildred's part.

“I was busy blaming her, saying, ‘Let me see what you did. You probably put it in incorrectly,’” Gayle tells PEOPLE. 

However, Gayle then called a travel agency her mom is connected to and was told, “That's how it is. It's two digits in the system." 

She adds that it now happens “every time" Mildred flies, no matter how they book the flight.

Delta confirmed to PEOPLE that because of how several legacy, industry-wide back-end booking and ticketing systems are built, the fields for customers' birth years only have the capacity for two digits instead of four.

"While it’s clear this customer is young at heart, she’ll simply have to check in with a friendly Delta agent at the airport to get her boarding pass," a representative for the airline told PEOPLE in a statement. "We appreciate her understanding and we’d love to hear her points on longevity and why she likes to travel as Delta marks our own 100th birthday next year.”

Gayle says she thinks the video she posted of her mom "has woken up the industry,” noting, “I'm hearing from people in the aviation IT area saying, ‘We're working on this.’”

Gayle has also heard from other relatives of centenarians who’ve had similar experiences.

“This happened to my mom too,” one commenter, who said her own mother was born in 1913, wrote on Gayle’s Instagram post.

Gayle says her social media followers also appreciated her mom’s playful take on the frustrating situation.

“They all love her attitude,” she says. “She makes light of everything.”

Gayle describes Mildred — with whom she recently collaborated on a book, Mildred's Mindset: Wisdom from a Woman Centenarian — as “incredibly resilient and fearless” and “absolutely not her age.”

“Travel is in our blood, I have to tell you,” says Gayle, a photographer, writer and filmmaker, who made the 2015 documentary Look at Us Now, Mother! “We have had great adventures all over the world.”

“When you don't have this fear, you get to enjoy a lot of things in life and have a lot of adventures,” she adds.

Russian minister detained after taking bribe, law enforcement agency says

Arrest of deputy defence minister Timur Ivanov comes weeks after Vladimir Putin urged FSB to step up efforts to root out corruption

A well-connected Russian deputy defence minister has been charged with bribe-taking, in the highest-profile corruption scandal in the country in years, triggering speculation about a possible purge within Moscow’s elites.

Timur Ivanov, 47, who was responsible for Russia’s military infrastructure projects, was detained by the FSB services late on Tuesday evening at his work.

On Wednesday, Ivanov, wearing his military uniform, appeared behind a glass cage in a Moscow court, where he was formally arrested and charged with high bribery. The court remanded him in custody for two months and placed him in the high-security Lefortovo prison in Moscow. He faces 15 years in jail if convicted.

Ivanov was widely seen as a long-term confidant of the powerful defence minister, Sergei Shoigu, having worked with Shoigu across various agencies for more than a decade.

The sudden arrest of an ally of Shoigu, who in turn Putin tasked with fighting the war in Ukraine , sparked speculations about a battle within the elite and of a public crackdown on the corruption that has plagued Russia’s post-Soviet armed forces.

“It is hard to find an official who has done more for Shoigu than Ivanov,” said a former defence official who worked directly with Ivanov, asking for anonymity so they could speak freely.

“This is an attack on Shoigu’s standing. But Shoigu has weathered other storms before.”

Shoigu, Russia’s longest-serving minister, assumed leadership of the defence ministry in 2012 after his tenure as the emergency services minister. Despite facing criticism for military setbacks during the war, he has retained his position and is widely regarded as a trusted figure by Putin.

Ivanov’s arrest comes weeks after Putin called on the FSB services to step up its efforts to root out corruption in state defence procurement.

Over the years, Ivanov, who was previously hit with US and EU sanctions, has cultivated a reputation for opulence, with Russian media abuzz with reports of his extravagant lifestyle that far surpasses the earnings of a defence official.

In 2022, investigators working for the late Alexei Navalny alleged that Ivanov and his family had been living a life full of luxurious trips abroad, lavish parties and elite real estate. Navalny’s team also claimed that Ivanov profited from construction projects in Ukraine’s Mariupol, which fell under Moscow’s control after a devastating months-long siege.

Forbes magazine has listed Ivanov as one of the wealthiest men in Russia’s security structures.

“He was known as the king of kickbacks, it was an open secret in the defence ministry,” said the former defence official. “The real question is why he was arrested now,” he added.

Observers suggest that the arrest could signal a shift in the Kremlin’s stance towards ostentatious displays of wealth since the onset of the Ukraine conflict.

Ivanov’s arrest was welcomed by pro-war commentators, who have urged Putin to crackdown on military corruption so that Moscow could wage its war in Ukraine more successfully.

Sergei Markov, a conservative Russian political commentator, remarked: “The arrest of Timur Ivanov surprises everyone only because it’s surprising why he wasn’t arrested much earlier.”

The events appear to have caught Ivanov by surprise, according to his family members cited in Russian media. Hours before his arrest, he was present on Tuesday at a meeting of top defence officials chaired by Shoigu.

Russian security services, however, hinted that Ivanov’s arrest was carefully planned in advance.

“Let’s just say the investigation did not start yesterday, the day before yesterday or even a month ago,” an unidentified Russian law enforcement source told the Tass state news agency. The state-owned Lenta.Ru outlet reported that the FSB had been collecting material on Ivanov for five years.

Ivanov’s jailing comes before Putin’s formal inauguration for his fifth term as president next month, which may feature a government shake-up, although there is no sign Putin plans to slow down his war efforts in Ukraine.
