Mexican pop-rock superstars Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzmán are bringing their “VERSUS World Tour” back to the United States for its final leg.
Their joint concert trek will kick off March 7 at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, and conclude April 14 at the Hollywood Bowl. It includes an April 13 concert at San Diego State University’s Viejas Arena. All tour dates and ticket information appear below.
Prior to teaming up last year, Trevi — known as “the Mexican Madonna” — and Guzmán — known as the “Queen of Mexican Rock” — have long been seen as envelope-pushing rivals. Starting in the 1990s, both smashed stereotypes by embracing their sexuality and breaking the mold for polite, cookie-cutter female pop singers in Mexico.
Last June, Trevi and Guzmán became the first two Mexican female performers to sell out two shows at the nearly 20,000-capacity Staples Center in Los Angeles. Their 2017 album, “VERSUS,” was an international hit that included their Spanish-language version of the Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction,” a song Trevi previously covered on her 2011 album, “Gloria,” and her 1989 debut album, “...Qué Hago Aquí?” (“What Am I Doing Here?”).
If nothing else, the unexpected touring and recording partnership between Trevi and Guzmán is a canny marketing move — perhaps akin to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry burying their differences to mount a tour together.
Unlike Swift or Perry, however, Trevi became pregnant and gave birth while being held in a high-security Brazilian prison and was later extradited to Mexico.
She was in prison — first in Brazil, then Mexico — from 2000 to 2004. Her incarceration followed charges that she and her then-manager/boyfriend had corrupted minors and committed sexual abuse and kidnapping. Trevi was ultimately acquitted, while her former boyfriend and manager received an eight-year sentence.
Tickets for the concluding U.S. leg of Trevi and Guzmán’s “VERSUS” tour go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Jan. 19 at livenation.com and ticketmaster.com . There will be at least six pre-sales, including for fan club members and Citi card holders.
Ticket prices for Trevi and Guzmán’s April 13 San Diego concert start at $39.95 and go up to $500, which may be a record for any show at that venue.

Gloria Trevi is a singer and songwriter hailing from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Born on the 15th of February 1968, Trevi is one of the biggest names in Mexican music, selling over 20 million records worldwide.
"Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop" may sound hyperbolic when one first hears it, especially considering it was a term coined by VH1 of all things. However, when it comes to Gloria Trevi, it’s a perfect fit. There are few musicians alive that have the kind of influence and reach that she does, with most of her studio albums going to number one on her native Mexico’s album charts.
By the looks of it, this was Trevi’s plan all along. Her life in music began when she was twelve, when she left the town of Monterrey, where she was born, to pursue a career in Mexico City.
By 1985 she’d met her manager Sergio Andrade, and had joined a girl group called Boquitas Pintadas. The group was short lived, only lasting three years before splitting, but the year after that happened, Trevi’s debut solo album came out. “¿Qué Hago Aquí?” (What am I Doing Here) and was an instant smash, eventually selling two million copies and scoring a number one single in the form of “Dr. Psiquiatra”.
Trevi was almost immediately being talked about as the Mexican Madonna, and not just for her sexually provocative image. She often talks and sings of the social issues that made up the day to day life of many in her home country and around the world, from homelessness, to prostitution, drug trafficking and violence against women. She became an icon to millions in a very short space of time.
Her career in music and film blossomed but in 2000 she, Andrade and backup singer Maria Raquenel Portillo were arrested on charges of corrupting minors. Come 2004 she was released from prison and was immediately back in the studio.
“Cómo Nace El Universo”, the resulting album, was another number one smash that put her career right back on track. Hers is a career and in a lot of ways, a life, that only the strong could make it through, and in Gloria Trevi we have an artist who can face those challenges, pull through and still create the best music of her life. We’re all better off to have her around, and if the opportunity to see her perform comes up, I urge you to take it.
Live reviews
You might not have ever heard of her, but Gloria Trevi is a big deal in the land of Mexico. Dubbed the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop” and “The Mexican Madonna” for her controversial lyrics, 46 year old Trevi has a huge back catalogue of 90’s Spanish language hits to her name.
Despite her pop background, Gloria’s live performance is nothing to be sneered at, with a full live band and backing dancers half her age at her disposal, Trevi graces the stage in a glamorous feathery leotard and thigh high boots.
She has the crowd in the palm of her hand as she charismatically chats with the audience for lengthy periods between tracks, with the conversation often focusing on how the public can help with the darker topics she touches on in her music, such as Prostitution and Drugs. By the time she performs her hits “Con los Ojos Cerrados” and “Pelo Suelto” the crowd are in a raucous mood, shouting out the lyrics before she has a chance to sing!
In recent years Trevi has been in the spotlight mainly for her legal issues than her musical output, but with a career spanning 25 years and with an upcoming biographical movie to be released, there’s no denying her staying power, you wouldn’t be surprised to see her performing in a venue near you.

One of Mexico's most recognisable and successful artists Gloria Trevi truly believes there is still very much space for show within pop music and the live performance. She has been delighting crowds around the globe for over two decades with her charismatic personality and carefully choreographed performances. One reason the fans come back again and again is the fact Gloria is such a lovely personality and has such brilliant rapport with her audiences.
It is hard to believe she is now mid-40s as she looks flawless onstage whilst she moves around like a performer half of her age. She has a huge amount of Latin hits from across her albums so fitting them all in tonight is a real mission but thanks to some creative medleys and well timed visual interludes Trevi manages it. Her vocal holds through ambitious dance sections and after two hours, she does not seem to be hardly breaking a sweat. She truly is so much more than a singer, she is a performer.

Gloria Trevi, Alejandra Guzmán To Share Stage In Puerto Rico In 'Versus World Tour'

The biggest Divas of Latin music, Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzmán will bring their VERSUS World Tour to Puerto Rico on Friday, October 27, in a live show expected to make history. The highly anticipated tickets for the concert will be on sale here and at the Puerto Rico Coliseum ticket office starting Friday, August 18.
"Once again, it is a pleasure to be able to bring to Puerto Rico a unique and historical spectacle. Our Spanish Broadcasting System company will always aim to entertain and promote Latin music," said Mr. Lucas Piña , Vice President Senior, SBS Entertainment.
The VERSUS World Tour show has once again made clear the magnitude of the most important showdown in Spanish music, where the audience, responding to the energy of the singers, could not be left behind and have become protagonists in deploying all their support in favor of their favorite artist, which has created a rivalry between fanatics, highlights of the historical importance of the tour.
This rivalry between Trevi and Guzmán, reaches its most effervescent point when the two super stars join the stage to sing a theme together and unleash a climax and a total union in the audience in what has become an unforgettable moment for the audience.
VERSUS, the album, is the unique and transcendental musical collaboration between the two Mexican singers, debuting in position #1 in the list “Top Latin Albums” of the recognized Billboard magazine.
Alejandra Guzmán, in addition to being the birth heir of Mexican rock by his father Enrique Guzman and the iconic fame of his mother Silvia Pinal, created her own musical history as the most authentic and controversial rock singer in Latin America. On stage, Alejandra is considered one of the best performers of Hispanic music.

Also, living one of the greatest scandals of Spanish music industry provoked uncomfortable moments between some TV Show, tabloids and false accusations. Gloria Trevi Unmasks Tourmate And Former Foe Alejandra Guzman
Former foes gloria trevi and alejandra guzman shocked fans when they announced in december they’d be collaborating on a tour and an album called “versus.
Photo: Wikimedia Commons/DanielMedinaMx
Former foes Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzman shocked fans when they announced in December they’d be collaborating on a tour and an album called “Versus.” It’s been many successful months since the tour kicked-off with multiple venues having to turn concert-goers away when tickets were sold out due to high demand in multiple U.S. cities.
Thanks to their dual studio album, both Trevi and Guzman have songs that they can duet on while on stage, as well as sing many of each other’s hits both solo and together. It’s specifically when these iconic stars of pop and rock do the latter, that really makes crowds go wild.
“The energy and the emotion emanating from the audience at any one of our shows is just magical,” Trevi told HipLatina. “It truly has been an incredible experience to witness. People leave every one of our shows completely drunk – but not from alcohol, from music. The experience of being able to sing songs made popular by both Alejandra and myself at the same venue, it leaves fans extremely elated. I’m so very happy and proud at the result of our collaboration. With so much sadness going on in the world, I love soaking up all the joy of seeing fans united and singing songs from our combined repertoires.”
No one was more surprised than Trevi at many of the touching qualities possessed by Guzman. It’s easy to see why two of the biggest and most respected stars would join together on stage – the financial benefits can’t be denied. But Trevi has been able to witness a side of La Guzman that her tough exterior hides publicly.
“Alejandra is a woman full of surprises,” she said. “You will never be bored in her company. But what stood out about her the most to me is that she’s genuinely a good woman. She has a heart made of gold that’s full of sensibility. Not just that, but she is so badass! Don’t tell her I said all these things about her because she’s going to get upset at me. She loves having this rough and tough exterior and that’s how people have come to know her and love her. But there is a vulnerable woman under that tough outer shell. She’s a beautiful human being full of good intentions.”
But don’t mistake all these kind words as an ending to their feud – on the charts at least. Trevi warns that once their highly successful tour has wrapped, it’s back to business as usual. The Supreme Diva of Pop promises she will continue to innovate and evolve musically for her fans and to keep Guzman on her toes.
“I am a very big fan of all music and I feel that all music has to constantly evolve,” Trevi explained. “I love how the industry has evolved and now as artists we are able to get our music out there much quicker. Before we were limited to releasing a new album once every three years. This internet age has been very good for the industry. I have so much music I want to release and I no longer have to wait. So fans can surely expect many more surprises from me as soon as this tour wraps up. That’s why you can’t miss this tour. It will only last a few months and then each one of us moves on to our next project independently. So don’t miss it!”
Tickets are still available to tour dates in the United States in Mexico. The tour heads to many U.S. cities including Albuquerque, Las Vegas and Miami before heading off to South America, Puerto Rico and Mexico this fall.

After releasing two previous collaborative efforts, Feid and Yandel made many fans very happy when they dropped a joint EP called MANIFESTING 20-05 earlier this month.
This wasn’t the first time two reggaetón giants joined forces for an entire set; in fact, one of the first artists to do so were J Balvin and Bad Bunny in 2019 with Oasis . The eight-song set includes bangers such as “Que Pretendes” and “La Canción.”
“Benito and I share an aesthetic and originality,” Balvin previously told Billboard . “When he appeared on the scene, he brought a fresh perspective. I felt like the only crazy one there! It’s very hard for a label to bring two artists together like this. It has to come from a place of respect.”
The album debuted at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums in July 2019 (and led both charts for eight weeks).
Later, in 2021, good friends Ozuna and Anuel AA released Los Dioses , a 12-track album that flaunted their versatility, evolution, and bromance. The set also hit No. 1 on both the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums in February. “Right now, we’re making an album together but our relationship is not about an album,” Ozuna said to Billboard at the time. “This is a brotherhood, I’d say deeper than most anyone else in the genre has.”
But way before reggaetón acts got together to work on albums, there were Mexican rock divas Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzman. The dual powerhouses delivered Versus in 2017, in honor of their joint tour. The album was also a No. 1 hit, debuting atop Top Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums in July 2017.
Below, check out other Latin acts who have released joint albums in the past decade:
Christian Nodal & Los Plebes del Rancho de Ariel Camacho
Album: Recordando A Una Leyenda
Christian Nodal has been vocal about how Ariel Camacho, the Mexcian sierreño artist who died in a car accident in 2015, inspired his career. In 2021, the mariacheño star joined Camacho’s band, Los Plebes del Rancho, for a joint album honoring the late singer’s legacy. Released via JG Music under an exclusive licensing agreement with Universal Music México, the 10-song album is an homage to nine of Camacho’s timeless hits, in addition to their original collaboration, “2 Veces.”
Farina & Arcángel
Album: FloWres
In 2021, Colombian rapper Farina reeled in Puerto Rican urban star Arcángel for FloWres , an EP home to six tracks, including sultry traps (“Comas y Ceros”), Latin R&B (“Pegate”), and malianteo (“Montoya”) — even malianteo (“Montoya”). “Every song is so different,” Farina previously told Billboard . “We hit the studio to work on one song, but our chemistry and energy were so beautiful that we ended up doing seven songs, one of which we saved for another project.”
Feid & Yandel
Album Name: MANIFESTING 20-05
What was once a manifestation made in 2005 has become a reality. Earlier this month, Feid dropped a five-track EP with Yandel called MANIFESTING 20-05 (inspired by the career dream he once had). The set — which comes on the heels of two previous collaborative efforts (“Yandel 150” and “XQ Te Pones Así”) — finds hard-hitting reggaetón beats that perfectly lace both the Medellín and Puerto Rican flows, as well as the two artist’s smooth and melodious vocals. Flaunting their experimental side, “De Negro” is fused with electronic house beats while “Pa Janguiar” has sensual reggae undertones.
Gloria Trevi & Alejandra Guzmán
Album: Versus
To coincide with their joint tour in 2017, Mexican stars Gloria Trevi and Alejandra Guzmán dropped a 10-track set called Versus , which became the official soundtrack to the trek that lasted nearly one year. The set peaked at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums, and included anthemic songs such as “Todos Me Miran,” “Hey Güera” and “Eternamente Bella.”
Grupo Firme & Los Buitres de Culiacán Sinaloa
Album: En Vivo Desde Tijuana: Los Buitrones y Los Firmes
Before catapulting to stardom in 2020, Grupo Firme recorded a joint album with Los Buitres de Culiacán Sinaloa. The nine-song set, En Vivo Desde Tijuana , recorded live from the band’s hometown of Tijuana in 2017, is a corridos banda album through and through. It also follows the style in which Firme began recording music, doing it live during a get-together. A style that has led to many albums recorded live in collaboration with other bands or artists.
J Balvin & Bad Bunny
Album: Oasis
In June 2019, superstars J Balvin and Bad Bunny surprise-dropped the eight-song Oasis . It bowed at No. 1 on Latin Albums and earned both artists their first top 10 entry on the Billboard 200, where it entered at No. 9. “Benito and I share an aesthetic and originality,” J Balvin previously told Billboard . “When he appeared on the scene, he brought a fresh perspective. I felt like the only crazy one there! It’s very hard for a label to bring two artists together like this. It has to come from a place of respect.”
Ovy on the Drums & Myke Towers
Album Name: CASSETTE 01
CASSETTE 01 is a six-track joint EP between Colombian hitmaker Ovy on the Drums and Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers. From edgy, distorted reggaetón jams to sensual dancehall jams, and other innovative rhythms, the album includes many collaborators such as Ryan Castro, La Joaqui, and SAIKO.
Ozuna & Anuel AA
Album Name: Los Dioses
Los Dioses finds Ozuna and Anuel AA on 12 tracks that flex their versatility, musical evolution and, most importantly, bromance. “Ozuna is the good guy; I’m the bad guy. And I’m telling you, there is no more powerful combination,” Anuel previously told Billboard . “Our relationship is not about an album. This is a brotherhood, I’d say deeper than most anyone else in the genre has,” Ozuna added. Producers who worked on the set include Tainy, Hi Music Hi Flow, Ovy on the Drums, DJ Luian, Mambo Kings and Súbelo Neo.
Santa Fe Klan & Lefty Sm
Album: Necesidad
Frequent collaborators, Mexican rappers Santa Fe Klan and Lefty Sm teamed up for a joint album that includes 10 songs and was released in 2020. Doubling down on their commitment to shine a spotlight on Mexican rap culture, Necesidad cements both Santa and Lefty as forces to be reckoned with in hip-hop. Left was shot and killed last year in Jalisco, Mexico at age 31.
Tainy & Yandel
Album: DYNASTY
Over the years, Tainy and Yandel have released timeless reggaetón bangers such as “Pam Pam,” “Noche de Sexo,” and “Sensación,” which only made sense when the two Puerto Rican artists dropped a joint album in 2021. Produced by Tainy with Yandel on vocals, the artists presented the album during a press conference in New York City. ““It’s been years of a lot of work, sacrifice, winning multiple championships, that’s why I feel we’re a dynasty,” Yandel said at the time.
