Everything We Know About The Next The Grand Tour: Eurocrash Special Ahead Of Release

The Grand Tour:Eurocrash launches on June 16th, and will see Clarkon, May and Hammond's latest adventure through central Europe in three “ugly cars”.

We are just days away from the next The Grand Tour special, which this time takes the name Eurocrash. Jeremy Clarkson , James May and Richard Hammond look to be gearing up for one of their most epic adventures yet. They take a trip through Central Europe in three very unusual cars and take part in their usual array of challenges. Amazon recently unveiled the trailer for the new special, showcasing some of the challenges facing the three presenters.

Soviet era F1, archers shooting at their cars and making sure their vehicles last the trip are just some of the things we can expect from the special. The special will launch globally on Amazon Prime on June 16th.

The Three Cars That Feature In The Grand Tour: Eurocrash Special

The three presenters use an interesting array of cars in the adventure. Hammond is set to drive the Chevrolet SSR, a retro-styled pickup truck brought out by Chevrolet in the mid-2000s. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter Vortec with 300 hp, which was upgraded to an LS2 V8 with 390 hp in 2005. The SSR is a quite forgettable model for Chevrolet . It proved to be much slower than General Motors had hoped for despite having nearly 400 hp. Reportedly, the weight of the SSR was one reason the pickup truck fared so badly, as was the cramped nature of the cabin.

Mitsuoka Le-Seyde Engine Specs

Clarkson meanwhile is driving an ugly yet incredibly rare car . This is the Mitsuoka Le-Seyde. It is a Japanese car based on the Nissan Silvia S13, and only 500 units of the Le-Seyde were ever made. The company claimed that all 500 units sold out within four days of them going on sale. And it's styling resembles that of the Zimmer Golden Sprint with the expected modern refinements. The car has a 1.8-liter CA18DE engine under the hood. The same that you would find in the Silvia S13 up to mid-1990s, and the Le-Seyde is certainly one of the more unusual cars for the trio to drive.

May meanwhile is driving a diminutive Crosley Convertible. It was built by the small American manufacturer Crosley, who specialized in subcompact cars . The company would produce a wide range of vehicles, but we aren’t 100 percent certain yet which model May is driving. It looks like it could be a convertible Crosley CC Four built from 1946 to 1948. But May will no doubt explain exactly what it is in the opening segments of the show. From the trailer, it looks like May is set to have a deeply uncomfortable ride in the Crosley.

Where The Grand Tour Eurocrash Is Located

The grand tour eurocrash location summary.

  • Behind the Iron Curtain
  • Tor Poznan racetrack
  • Krakow Wax Museum
  • The Westerplatte
  • Cold War Airfield

The new The Grand Tour special will take us on an epic 1,400-mile road trip through Central Europe, in what used to be behind the iron curtain of the Soviet Union. This includes taking in the sights in Poland, and sampling the Soviet version of Formula 1 . Central Europe was seen as an unlikely destination for a Road Trip, but the trio have proven people wrong according to various insiders. Hammond looks to bin his old race car during their track day at a Polish racetrack.

Spy footage of the trio on the trip and sources have said that the three may retrace the early routes of WWII as part of the trip. They were spotted in the Dluga Streets of Gdańsk as well as in the shipyard and port areas, and in the Westerplatte as well. This is the area in which the first shot of WWII was allegedly fired. The trailer also shows an old airfield full of Soviet era fighter and bomber planes. Hinting at a trip to an old Cold War airfield. A trip to the wax museum in Kraków is another of the locations the three visit. Here, the trailer reveals an amusing waxwork of 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell that the three promptly take from the museum. A possible hint at the reports that they recruit a famous racing driver on their journey.

The Challenges The Grand Tour Presenters Will Face

There have been hints at some of the challenges the three presenters will face during their trip. Archers look to use their cars as target practice in one of the events, while there is allegedly a Fast and Furious climax to the show. But the trailer leaves few hints to that. Driving their three cars into the back of an old Soviet era cargo aircraft may be how the adventure ends. And it’s a prospect that leaves May slightly terrified at the start of the trailer.

One of the most exciting additions to the show looks to be the Praga Bohema which May looks to be throwing around a racetrack. With Praga based in Prague in the Czech Republic, it hints at the country being a destination for the three. The country is located in Central Europe and was formerly a part of the Soviet Union. Clarkson is also seen driving a classic open-top racer, while May apparently takes a flight in the radical AirCar from an airfield in Piešťany, Slovakia. It's likely there are a lot more locations and adventures that the trailer or reports haven’t yet revealed.

The Future Of The Grand Tour Remains A Talking Point

Away from the upcoming special, the future of the show remains a talking point . After Clarkson’s article earlier in 2023 about Meghan Markle, there was a lot of furor. And it was speculated that Amazon had decided to conclude filming of the show after the next batch of specials. The next of which recently wrapped up filming in Mauritania. But May suggested that it was all nonsense, and the three would simply decide to end things when they felt like it. Perhaps at the end of their current contract.

May would say “I mean, some people have said we’ve been canceled. But really we’re getting quite close to the end of our contract, but we didn’t really have any particular plans to keep going because we’re all really just getting a bit old. It might be time to let someone else have a crack at it.” He went on to add that, contrary to media reports, “No one has told us to go away. It’s reaching its natural end, like parties do. There comes a point at 4am when it is over.”

Fans of the show will be relieved to hear that it looks like the three will be allowed to end things when they feel like it. So there is a hope of further specials in the years to come, and we should get at least a couple more following the Mauritania adventure. For now, though, we should savor what we have of the three and look forward to the upcoming special which promises to be an absolute classic .

‘The Grand Tour: Eurocrash’ Takes Central Europe by Storm

Prime Video series The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (Season 5, Episode 2) Review

Controversy be damned, Jeremy Clarkson remains on our screens whether you like it or not for the motoring reality TV series The Grand Tour , and this time, the special is dubbed “Eurocrash.” Current affairs aside (with Prime Video cutting ties with Jeremy Clarkson due to his comments about Meghan Markle), this is another highly entertaining yet standard offering from the Top Gear trio as they travel through Central Europe in weird, comical cars.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash is a lot of fun

The fifth season of The Grand Tour continues with its second stand-alone special after 2022’s A Scandi Flick . In the latest episode, Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, and James May take part in a road trip that no one has ever thought of doing before.

They travel from Gdansk, Poland, through the countries of Slovakia and Hungary before ending in Slovenia, where they conclude at the scenic Lake Bled.

Adding these ‘weird’ cars makes this unconventional road trip hilarious. Richard Hammond is first on the scene, driving a yellow convertible pick-up truck for the entirety of the 1400-mile journey.

Jeremy Clarkson can be found in a hideous, limited-edition Japanese gangster car that looks like something Cruella de Vil would drive. James May is there, bringing up the rear in a 75-year-old micro mini that is four feet wide and struggles to reach its top speed of 40 mph. This, of course, becomes a clear hazard on European motorways.

grand tour poland cars

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (Credit – Prime Video)

As they travel through Central Europe, the presenters enjoy some gorgeous sightseeing diversions. They take in the history and culture of each individual nation while, as you’d expect, performing elaborate practical jokes on one another.

Between all the pranks, there’s room for some car analysis, with the trio using their standard sarcastic wit to inform viewers of their peculiar cars and the many other vehicles specific to those four countries.

This is all topped off with action-packed races and a captivating grand finale.

Eurocrash is a lot of fun. The trio gets up to their usual scripted shenanigans, deploying their trademark irreverent humor wherever they go as they plow through Europe. It’s painfully staged sometimes, but the old formula still works an absolute treat anyway. This special is sure to put a smile on your face at some point during its feature-length run time.

This installment offers nothing new or original, yet the trio is comforting and consistent nonetheless. Fans of the series and the trio’s previous work will not be disappointed. This entertaining road trip includes rebellious, silly comedy, detailed car analysis, and a cracking soundtrack.

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, and James May have been performing these sorts of specials for nearly two decades now, and very little has changed in their style or delivery in that time.

Yet even with such an overwhelming history of content behind them, the tried and tested formula still succeeds. It just feels a little dated now, is all.

The New Grand Tour Special Is Headed To Central Europe

Jeremy clarkson, james may, and richard hammond are back for yet another road trip..

Image for article titled The New Grand Tour Special Is Headed To Central Europe

The Grand Tour has released a new trailer for its new feature-length episode titled “ Euro cr ash.” Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond are reuniting for a 1,400-mile road trip across Central Europe from Gdańsk in Poland to Lake Bled in Slovenia. The trio are getting up to their usual hijinks with a Cold War-era twist.

The episode title “ Eurocr ash” is stylized in mock-Cyrillic and Clarkson stating, “We’re going behind what used to be the Iron Curtain,” setting the theme for the trailer. Though, Clarkson, May, and Hammond won’t be going on the epic journey in Eastern Bloc machinery. Clarkson will be behind the wheel of a Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, a strange 1990s Japanese car built around a Nissan Silva S13. May and Hammond will be driving American vehicles, a 1940s Crosley convertible and a 2000s Chevy SSR.

Related Content

During their trip, Clarkson, May and Hammond will visit a historic Formula Easter event, the Cold War-era racing category when single-seater racing cars were built out of components from production cars. The group also head to a wax museum in Kraków, Poland with a hilariously awful wax sculpture of British F1 champion Nigel Mansell.

It should be noted that the trailer is set to “The Final Countdown” by Europe. While it could just simply be an easy nod to the 1980s, the song could hint at this being the final or one of the last episodes of the Grand Tour. Amazon won’t be negotiating a new contract with Clarkson when his current deal expires in 2024 after his disgusting newspaper column about Meghan Markle.

The Grand Tour Poland Special Release Date Revealed

The-Grand-Tour-Poland-Special-Release-Date-Revealed

The release date for the upcoming The Grand Tour Poland special has been revealed by non-other than Jeremy Clarkson himself.

Clarkson and his The Grand Tour colleague, Richard Hammond, were talking to a Radio 1 Slovenia journalist about all sorts of things.

The journalist asked them about their favourite cars, what they thought of Slovenia, Slovenian food and also what they did for a living.

The interview is actually quite amusing to watch because the interviewer admitted that he didn’t know anything about cars.

He also Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond what they thought of Dacia cars, which is a Romanian brand of car that James May is particularly fond of.

When will The Grand Tour Poland special’s release be on Amazon Prime Video?

Anyway, during this interview, the interviewer asked Jeremy when The Grand Tour Poland special will be released on Amazon Prime Video?

Jeremy – who looked a little bit tired – revealed that it would be released in “a very long time”.

However, he then said that it would be out on the streaming platform in about six months.

Clarkson said:

A very long time. Is it six months, perhaps? Six months.

So, this means that this upcoming Grand Tour special might be released in December, towards the end of this year.

However, it could very easily be pushed into early 2023.

During the interview, they revealed that they had travelled 2,000km through Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and were now doing through Slovenia.

Here’s what Clarkson had to say about the upcoming Grand Tour special:

Well, this is, it is actually the finish point for a long – about a 2,200 kilometer drive from Gdansk at the top of Poland. All the way down to Krakow, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and then here.

Clarkson was then asked what he thought of Slovenia and he admitted that he thought it was “very pretty”.

Well, we came in through the mountains from Hungary, so it’s just straight away very pretty. And then it stays very pretty to here. So it’s just very pretty.

The NTSB is Investigating Fatal Crashes Involving the Ford Mustang Mach-E and BlueCruise

The Grand Tour's "Eurocrash," 45 Percent of a Car Show

Corey Lewis

On June 16th Amazon Prime released the latest episode of The Grand Tour , “Eurocrash.” With a runtime longer than every previous episode of the show (1 hour 47 minutes), “Eurocrash” sends the presenters to central Europe for a long road trip. This particular installment is a bit different than past voyages though: The connecting thread between the presenters, journey, cars, and the episode’s events goes missing.

the grand tour s eurocrash 45 percent of a car show

Before you read any further, be advised this article contains spoilers for the episode. You’ve been warned!

The prompt for Eurocrash is “a road trip that nobody had done before.” We learn the road less traveled is a requirement, as all the known road trips across the globe are blocked by terrorism or governments that banned one or all of the presenters. It’s decided the trip will start in Gdansk, Poland, and end some 1,400 miles away at Lake Bled in Slovenia. The trip will cross four countries in total; Slovakia and Hungary are between the endpoints. The route is pointed out on the map by two delicate hands wearing jewelry and nail polish, and that’s probably a commentary on something.

Unlike prior episodes with a strong theme for the presenters’ cars (last time it was four-door rally-bred sedans), the directive is simply to select a car nobody has used for a road trip previously. To that end, Hammond selects a Chevrolet SSR. The yellow “pickup truck convertible” is introduced along with a hole in the editing where Hammond doesn’t actually say what he was driving. While familiar to U.S. viewers, others may feel a bit lost.

Clarkson shows up in the baroque neoclassical Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, a Japanese take on the excessively gaudy coupes built by small American companies in the Seventies and Eighties. Under the bodywork, the Le-Seyde is Nissan Silvia with an automatic transmission. James is last to arrive, as ever, in a vehicle that makes no sense for the journey: A Crosley CC convertible from 1947.

While the Crosley is certainly interesting, its meager engine and near-single-digit horsepower meant it was selected only to fit the desired plot and scenes ahead. In no way would May realistically select such a car for a journey of that length. “I bought it when I was drunk!” he protests.

the grand tour s eurocrash 45 percent of a car show

The first 10 or so minutes of the program are where the most time is spent on the presenter's cars. Viewers eventually figure out what Hammond is driving when Clarkson states it, and there’s some brief vehicular information given as the trio leaves the port of Gdansk. May quickly falls behind as the Crosley has a top speed of about 30 miles per hour, and the other two leave him behind because they have cars that are functionally modern.

Within a couple of minutes, the journey pauses at a race track in Poland where some Formula Easter cars are gathered. The F1-style racers were built using the materials available behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, and though cobbled together are cool and interesting. Hammond is selected to be the driver as Clarkson is too fat to fit in the cockpit. May is far enough behind to miss the race, but not far enough behind to miss the day at the track. The racers seem not to try very hard as Hammond shoots to the lead, but then his car breaks down and spills fuel all over the track.

Hammond doesn’t notice the leaking fuel, which causes all the other racers to spin off the track (with no flag raised). But then Hammond eventually spins off and has a “crash” into a barrier that is not shown to the viewer. Now there’s a red flag on the track.

The fake crash gives May a chance to fetch Hammond in the unreliable Crosley ambulance he’s already prepared. Hammond didn’t have a radio to communicate with Clarkson and May during the race, as Clarkson and May had to write on poster board as Hammond passed the pit. But magically a radio appears in Hammond’s car so he can call for help after the crash.

Racing finished, the show takes a pause from car content for a while. The next destination is a statue of Jesus that’s billed as the second tallest in the world. There are some jokes about Jesus and internet pornography, intermixed with shots of James having trouble with the Crosley.

the grand tour s eurocrash 45 percent of a car show

Nearby is the Stalag Luft III, the German prisoner-of-war camp from which prisoners dug an escape tunnel. Their story was the inspiration for the classic film The Great Escape . Clarkson and Hammond explore the camp, where Clarkson mixes the reality of the camp and the fiction of the Hollywood film.

May misses the camp entirely, but manages to catch up as he’s bailed on the Crosley and is driving the comedy backup car instead. It’s an old Ford Popular with a Jaguar inline-six, which has "TITTIES N’ BEER" printed on the side. The Popular is also uncomfortable and slow, but not as slow as the Crosley. Worth noting: The Crosley was still functional, May just didn’t like using it. This is a different use case of the backup car than any previous episode (even dating back to Top Gear ), but who cares!

The show continues with non-car content and a trip to the Krakow Wax Museum. Giggles and juvenile jokes ensue at the poor-looking wax figures of famous figures. They are actually that bad in real life, per online photos. The takeaway from the museum (literally) is a statue of Nigel Mansell. Our trio “steals” the statue quite surreptitiously, and starts a 25-minute-long string of jokes about the retired British racing driver. The jokes are humorous to any British person over the age of 45 and nobody else.

Much time is spent on these exploits, and between the 33- and 63-minute marks the show focuses on tourism spots. The trio leaves the city and stops at an airfield, where the car James isn’t driving (the Crosley) is allowed to race against a three-wheeled communist trike, a man on a bicycle, a tractor, and a dump truck. The Crosley loses, and the race is not interesting.

This folly leads to a highlight of the episode in Slovakia, highlighting the ingenuity and engineering prowess of the Czech and Slovakian people. A skunkworks of engineers inside Skoda built a Le Mans racer in secret, but never got to race it. There’s also the Czech-made Praga Bohema, a 720-horsepower supercar with a 0-60 time of under three seconds. Also featured is a fully-functional Slovakian flying car, the Klein Vision AirCar. Notable as the first flying car to ever travel between two airports, the impressive vehicle is probably the most interesting part of the episode.

the grand tour s eurocrash 45 percent of a car show

Next up is a diversion to a field where some Hungarian archers fire arrows at the presenters’ cars, which are fitted with thick plexiglass windows. It doesn’t prove anything but does provide some more fodder for Nigel Mansell jokes. The Mansell wax statue is then sent down a ski ramp (sans snow) in the Popular, which is funny! Yes, definitely funny.

The last 15 minutes of the too-long episode take place at Lake Bled, the very beautiful end point of the journey. James is back in the Crosley by process of elimination and arrives late. Departing early for the airport, he steals a tire from the SSR and the Le-Seyde and puts them in a rowboat on the lake to cause general inconvenience.

the grand tour s eurocrash 45 percent of a car show

And as a grand finale, the show wraps with the exact same lame ploy as “ A Skandi Flick .” The presenters hurry to the airport near Lake Bled to see a cargo plane taking off with its ramp down. All three manage to make it up the ramp but… oh no!

The producer texts to relay they’re on the wrong plane again ! Their plane home is a commercial flight, not a cargo plane. Just like last time it was a commercial flight and not the private jet. Silly presenters!

“Eurocrash” is light on car content and heavy on tired, corny jokes. With tourist segments and a lack of cohesion in car purpose underneath it all, the show is more fragmented than ever. It’s not as good as “ Carnage a Trois ,” or indeed “ Lochdown ,” as those had stronger themes. “Eurocrash” is roughly on par with the mess that was “ A Massive Hunt ,” though it lacks a specific mission like the treasure hunt of that episode.

In any event, the sun is setting on The Grand Tour. The show has been canceled (or “not renewed” in PR speak) after Clarkson’s incendiary comments earlier this year about Meghan Markle. Amazon did decide to renew Clarkson’s Farm , which will proceed through at least a third season. The Grand Tour will have its final handful of episodes throughout 2024.

Beyond those, I'm fascinated by automotive industry experiments, both failures and successes. Lately I've taken an interest in AI, and generating "what if" type images for car models long dead. Classic Top Gear was the only television show that every member of my family would sit down and watch. It became 'appointment' viewing for us. For any other show, there is always at least one member of the family who dislikes or is apathetic about it. But they all enjoyed classic Top Gear. Sometimes when the whole family is together we stream a favourite classic episode.

  • Carson D I know that attractive cars are passe, but Subaru's designers must really hate their customers more than VW's or Mazda's designers do. This thing reminds me of 'snap-together' model kits from my childhood. They never looked right, but at least parents didn't need to worry about what their six-year-olds would do with the polyurethane glue. The body trim looks like something from one of the worst kits. It's like they really needed some black parts, but they didn't have an entire sheet of black parts. So, they just made the bumpers and flares in black rather than have a second sheet of blue parts and a partial sheet of black ones. A joke in the Subaru repair business is that the engineers have nothing but contempt for the people who buy the cars, since they probably joined the company to build rally cars for Petter Solberg or Colin McRae instead of dog trolleys for women who hate men. It seems that the Subaru culture of denigrating the customers had reached their styling studios.
  • Jbltg Any Subaru product is extremely popular here in southern Connecticut. This, in spite of the fact that we get very little meaningful snowfall in winter. This past one in particular.
  • Jrhurren I’d love to see a tracker on all the backtracking the mfgs are doing lately. I have no issues with EVs, but the level of shadenfreude is high. More evidence they are out of touch with who their customers are and what they want.
  • William & Sharon Do I have this right…$0.11 per kWH? Where I live (Massachusetts) we pay $0.44/kWH, and it’s been as high as $0.64 in the past 24 months due to seasonal adjustments. If you get the equivalent of 100 mpg at $5.00/gallon, I’d get 25 mpg equivalent because my electricity is 4x more expensive.Except I get 30 mpg (actual daily driving mileage over 2 weeks.) And regular is $3.50 so the gap is even bigger.Maybe if I were commuting 20 miles into Boston every day, stuck in stop-and-go traffic for 90 minutes, an EV would make sense. 40 miles round trip to and from the garage charger, and EV mileage probably isn’t much affected by stop-and-go.Thank you, though, for sharing your experience. Sharing real numbers is illuminating.
  • 3SpeedAutomatic Liability is the biggest driver of auto insurance costs in Louisiana. Each of the morning news shows is flooded with claims of $250k awards. Double the amount if you have a wreck with an 18 wheeler. Yet, the new governor has sat on his butt and done nothing. What a cop out!!

Stream It Or Skip It: ‘The Grand Tour: Eurocrash’ On Prime Video, Where The Guys Road Trip From Poland To Slovenia In Three Ridiculous Cars

Where to stream:, the grand tour: eurocrash.

  • Jeremy Clarkson

Stream It Or Skip It: ‘The Grand Tour: Sand Job’ on Prime Video, Where James May, Richard Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson Drive DIY Rally Cars Through Northwest Africa

Stream it or skip it: ‘clarkson’s farm’ season 2 on prime video, where britain’s top curmudgeon faces another season on the farm, stream it or skip it: ‘the grand tour presents: a massive hunt’ on amazon prime video, where the guys hunt for buried treasure in madagascar, new movies + shows to watch this weekend: netflix’s ‘ma rainey’s black bottom’ + more.

At the start of T he Grand Tour: Eurocrash , we encounter hosts hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond on a ferry to Gdańsk, Poland, with maps on the table in front of them. Because many of the countries they’ve road tripped through either have a “terrorism problem” or has banned one of them from their roads, they’re going to do a road trip “that no one has ever thought of before.” It starts in Gdańsk, winds its way through Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, and ends at Lake Bled in Slovenia.

THE GRAND TOUR: EUROCRASH : STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?

The Gist: The cars the hosts have picked for this 1100-plus-mile road trip are completely “inappropriate”: Richard picks a mid’00s Chevrolet SSR, a convertible pickup truck (yes, you read that right), Jeremy drives off the ferry in something called a Mitsuoka Le-Seyede, which takes a common Nissan “saloon car,” as Clarkson puts it, and adds body panels and fake exhaust tubes to make it kinda-sorta look like a Mercedes SSK. James, ever quirky, putters out in a 1947 Crosley CC Convertible, a 4-foot wide car with a roof that snaps on and an engine that generates all of 26.5hp. “Mr. Wilman” (EP Andy Wilman) has provided a whopper of a backup car: A purple hot rod with the words “Titties ‘n’ Beer” on the doors.

The SSR and the Le-Seyede aren’t the greatest cars, but they handle themselves reasonably well. But James is struggling in the Crosley, almost getting knocked over on the highway by passing tractor trailers as he toddles along at a speedy 38 mph. The car stalls out repeatedly. So at the first stop, at a raceway near Gdańsk, James comes way late to do a qualifying lap in one of the Soviet-era Formula One-esque cars. Jeremy is too fat to fit in one, so Richard is the only one who gets to race.

Jeremy and Richard prank James by having people lift the Crosley and move it inside the hotel restaurant, but James gets back at the pair at the next stop by making “changes” to their cars. Either way, James keeps missing tourist stops, like a massive Jesus statue or the stalag depicted in The Great Escape because the Crosley is so slow and stall-prone. Eventually he gives up, gets in the “Titties ‘n’ Beer” backup car, and has the Crosley towed from stop to stop. But the hot rod is no prize, either.

What Movies Will It Remind You Of?: Clarkson, Hammond and May have been doing this for over 20 years, between the original incarnation of Top Gear or the seven years they’ve been doing The Grand Tour . Of course, Eurocrash is one of the feature-length GT episodes Prime has been producing over the past few years, like A Massive Hunt .

Performance Worth Watching: This time around, we’ll give this to a wax statue of Formula One legend Nigel Mansell that the guys steal from a bad wax museum in Kraków. Some of the funniest moments are when the statue takes the brunt of abuse, like when archers in Slovakia shoot at the cars, or when the sun coming in the window of Jeremy’s car melt his face. All the while Jeremy and Richard are doing Mansell’s Birmingham accent.

Memorable Dialogue: “I have produced larger and more attractive bogeys than this,” Jeremy says about the Crosley.

Sex and Skin: Oh, we wouldn’t want any of that, would we?

Our Take: Listen, we know that the shtick of the Grand Tour hosts is pretty well known by now, and it’s now been tainted a bit by the blowback created by Clarkson’s written remarks about Meghan Markle . But, dammit if there weren’t moments when we laughed out loud at the fellas’ antics, as well as just enjoyed the chemistry the three have together, whether they’re being goofy together or being competitive rivals.

Also, we know how much of The Grand Tour is more semi-scripted sitcom than actual reality show, with a team of mechanics doing the modifications to the cars that the hosts say they did themselves. But we come for the travel scenery, the goofy camaraderie between the hosts, and the shots of the ridiculous cars they drive being abused and pushed to their sometimes-low limits.

We even got excited during the final scene, where the guys have to drive their cars onto the cargo ramp of a taxiing jumbo jet, fighting jet wash the entire time. After taking this road trip with these three guys, we were rooting for the cars to make it to their destination, especially the Crosley, which usually can’t get out of its own way.

Our Call: STREAM IT. The Grand Tour: Eurocrash is a funny, scenery-filled road trip with everyone’s favorite group of British goofballs. What’s not to like?

  • Studio Lambert has reportedly won a contract to create an updated version of The Grand Tour.
  • Little is known about the retooled show, but it’s expected to feature new presenters as well as a revised format.

With Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May leaving The Grand Tour , many thought the show was dead. However, a new report suggests that might not be the case.

According to Broadcast , Studio Lambert has been awarded a contract to “develop a fresh version” of the show. Details are limited, but the publication said the studio beat out rival pitches from Shine TV and Orchard Studios.

More: Jeremy Clarkson Says He’s Too “Unfit, Fat And Old” To Keep The Grand Tour Going

The show reportedly hasn’t been formally greenlighted at this point, but Studio Lambert is said to be working on an updated format. The reboot is also expected to have new presenters, although there’s no word on how many or who might get the role.

The latter is obviously the biggest question as the bond between Clarkson, Hammond, and May was almost as interesting as whatever they were doing on screen. It’ll certainly be hard to replicate that as Top Gear found out following their departure.

The Sun quoted an unnamed industry insider as saying, “The Grand Tour is one of Prime Video’s most watched shows and Jeremy, James and Richard have a devoted following, but the guys have made no bones about the fact they’re all advancing in years and they have lots of other projects to pursue.” They added the trio wanted to go out on a high note.

While there are more questions than answers at this point, the show isn’t exactly a stranger to reboots. While it initially had a Top Gear -like feel and roughly a dozen episodes per season, The Grand Tour was eventually retooled to focus on a handful of road trips.

It remains unclear if the latest evolution of the show will stick to this format or try to find its own path. However, with Top Gear taking a “rest,” there might be an opportunity to return to that style format.

With all that being said, what would you like to see out of a Grand Tour reboot and who do you think should host?

Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Release Date As Grand Tour Filming Comes To An End

The Grand Tour has been filming in Central Europe for two long weeks now after starting their journey in Gdansk, Poland . Since then they’ve traveled over 2,000km through Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and now Slovenia.

In a recent interview with Radio 1 Slovenia, Jeremy Clarkson talked more about the episode, where they traveled to, and the release date of the episode. This comes after they recorded another episode around Norway and the Arctic Circle earlier this year .

Beginning the interview, Clarkson was asked what his first thoughts were of the country.

“Well, we came in through the mountains from Hungary, so it’s just straight away very pretty. And then it stays very pretty to here. So it’s just very pretty,” he says.

He then revealed that filming was coming to an end in Slovenia :

“Well, this is, it is actually the finish point for a long – about a 2,200 kilometer drive from Gdansk at the top of Poland. All the way down to Krakow, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and then here.”

There was then a mix up thanks to the language barrier, but Jeremy eventually admitted that it would be six months until we see this European special come to Prime Video:

“A very long time. Is it six months, perhaps? ? Six months,” he confirms.

In a strange turn, both Clarkson and Richard Hammond were then asked about the car manufacturer Dacia. “You mean the cars?” Clarkson asks as Hammond corrects the interviewer’s pronunciation.

“Because you’re a specialist for cars,” the interviewer adds. “Used to be,” Clarkson responds. “A long, long time ago we ran a car programme. It’s changed since then. “My colleague James May is around somewhere, he’s an expert on Dacia. “He likes the Dacia.”

He tells the Radio 1 interviewer that he prefers Maseratis but drives a Range Rover, “a Lincoln Continental Mk8, and an Alfa Romeo GTV6, a Mercedes 600 Grosser, Bentley Flying Spur, another Range Rover, a Land Rover Discovery with a Mercedes SL body on it, and a Mini.”

The interviewer then asks what colour his car is, and Jeremy very quickly lost interest in the interview.
