BTS is a 3-year Degree Programme. The programme is of 96 credits. The BTS Programme is designed for those students who are interested in pursuing a career in travel and tourism sector at different level. The Programme is aimed at familiarizing you with varied aspects of Tourism, creating awareness about tourism, imparting basic training in organizing Tourism services and opening career opportunities.

What is the difference between bts & btsol.

As a first step, I would like to tell you that both Courses are equivalent, but there is only one big difference, which is how the programs were taught.

BTS means  “Bachelor Of Arts In Tourism Studies”  and it is taught in colleges by Professor whereas BTSOL means “ Bachelor Of Arts In Tourism Studies Online Learning ”, where students taught virtually like we did in past years due to COVID.

All Professors teach students on Virtually on Google Meet, Zoom, etc Platforms.

How to Apply for BTSOL Admission Online?

The submission of the admission form passes through the following stages:

• Open the URL ( https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in )
• Register (you will be given a Username and a Password).
• Your ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ is informed through SMS and email.
• Re Login to the system with your ‘Username’ and ‘Password.’
• Fill Admission Form online.
• Upload your recent passport size Photograph ,signature (maximum size 100KB  in JPG format).
• Upload scanned copies of the relevant documents (maximum size 200KB each document in JPG/PDF format).
• Read the instruction and declaration carefully by clicking the ‘Declaration’ box.
• Preview your data and confirm details.
• Make payment of Fee through the Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.
• Payment confirmation message is sent to you through SMS and email.
• View the form preview by clicking Next.
• You may download the filled in application form and keep a printout for your records once you have submitted the online application form.

Registration fee, Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fee

A non-refundable Registration Fee shall be charged along with the programme fee of first semester/year at the time of admission.

If a student applies for cancellation of application/admission and refund of fee, the refund request will be considered as per the University policy as under:

Before confirmation of admission:  Full Programme fee paid shall be refunded.  

After confirmation of admission:

Within 15 days of confirmation of admission : Programme Fee paid shall be refunded after deduction of Rs.500/- .  

Within 16-90 days of confirmation of admission:   Programme Fee paid shall be refunded after deduction of Rs.1000/- .  

After 90 days of confirmation of admission:   No refund shall be allowed.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU MTTM Admission

IGNOU Master of Tourism & Travel Management course is available for two types of categories students. Students must fall under these two categories to become eligible for the course. These categories are explained below:

• Category I: Students who have completed their graduation in any field along with a diploma in Tourism from any recognized University or by AICTE or have done BA (Tourism); BSc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration (BHM); Bachelor in Hotel Management. These students fall under Category I. 
• Category II : Students have cleared a bachelor’s degree in any stream. Those Students who fall under Category II will have to pass Additional programs during their study period. 

IGNOU MTTM Course Fees

The MTTM course fee is divided into two Categories. For 1st category, Students have to pay Rs. 7,300/- per year and the Total will be Rs. 14,600/-* For 2nd Category students have to pay an amount is Rs. 10,300/- (1st year) and Rs. 7,300/- (2nd year) the full course fee Rs. 17,600/-*.

IGNOU MTTM Course Scope

MTTM Programme provides students with a chance to pursue a career in management in the tourism sector by acquiring practical skills and knowledge. This is a course for those who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs or who own and operate their own tourism agencies. Four semesters are offered as part of the program.

Established in the year 2007, School of Tourism Hospitality Service Sectoral Management (SOTHSM) is the most hunted school of study at IGNOU. It is affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University and approved by UGC. The school was launched with a major focus to make a knowledgeable society by offering inclusive education. Admission Procedure for IGNOU Guwahati Regional Center ( Opening Admission for July 2024 Cycle)

Students who wish to pursue their higher studies in a specific discipline from IGNOU to establish a thriving career in their field can do so by taking admission in their respective courses. The admission procedure is designed in a user-friendly way so that individuals can easily enroll themselves in a few simple and easy steps. For any course, the admission procedure starts with filling the application form. This application form is available on the official portal of IGNOU in the new admission section.

This application form asks for basic details of applicants like name, dob, parents name, etc. once the applicant correctly fills in the information then he/she will be asked to upload documents, these documents include address proofs, 10th marskheet, 12th marksheet, income certificate, etc. once the documents are uploaded then students will have to pay the registration fee which is 200 rs. This registration fee varies for different categories so it is advised to check the registration fee before applying.

If any course opted requires the student to appear for an entrance examination then students will have to wait for the admit card to come to their house and then appear for the entrance exam on the date given on the admit card. If the applicant scores good marks in the entrance then they will be eligible to start their classes soon if not then they can try in the next admission cycle. The admission cycle for this year July 2024 ended on 15th December. Students who missed the opportunity to enroll themselves this year can try again in the next cycle as the admission cycle opens twice a year for Indira Gandhi National Open University.
