Tout au long de votre séjour au Mexique, vous serez assisté par le principal guide-chauffeur et fondateur d'Iguana Tours, Frédéric Mullié.

Français, parisien d'origine, il est piqué très jeune par le virus des voyages. Ses études de langues lui donnent l'opportunité de vivre au Japon, aux Pays-Bas et aux Etats-Unis. Puis, de retour en France, il enseigne pendant de nombreuses années le japonais, tout en continuant à "bourlinguer" aux quatre coins du monde. En 2007, c'est le coup de foudre en découvrant pour la première fois le Mexique et 6 mois plus tard, il décide de poser ses valises définitivement à Mexico. Dans un premier temps, il enseigne le français en parallèle à des travaux de traductions et dès que l’occasion se présente, il part visiter le pays. Puis, les uns après les autres, se succèdent les amis, et à chaque fois Frédéric les emmène en voiture à la découverte du Mexique authentique qu’il affectionne tant. Et là, c’est la révélation, pourquoi ne pas proposer ce type de services aux voyageurs ? Une sorte de voyage organisé mais à la carte et en toute liberté. Le concept d'Iguana Tours est né.

Afin de professionnaliser son projet, il suit une formation à l'Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH), et obtient en 2012 son accréditation comme guide touristique auprès du Ministère Mexicain du Tourisme (SECTUR). Il ne reste plus qu’à créer Iguana Tours. Après 5 ans à Mexico à explorer les villes coloniales et les sites archéologiques du Centre du Mexique, il décide de s’installer à Playa del Carmen et de se lancer dans l’aventure.

We are also pleased to encourage homestay accommodation during Iguana Abroad, during which participants stay in the homes of local Mexican families and contribute directly to the household’s domestic income. The Manuel Antonio specialists bring you the privilege of experiencing Costa Rica’s main tourist attraction, the Manuel Antonio National Park. Explore the park with a highly trained, well-educated Costa Rican nature guide, who will show you the treasures living inside. Come and enjoy the Manuel Antonio National Park, a 52-year-old (created in 1972) exotic, bio-diverse tropical rainforest.

The pace of this adventure is determined by your group’s abilities and interests, you will stop and observe the abundance of wildlife in the park – all in its natural and breathtaking habitat. Your guide will show you many different species, such as sloths and numerous species of monkeys, as they travel through the tree canopy, playing with each other and searching for insects and tropical fruits to eat. You will also be able to see several types of reptiles resting in the trees or running in the middle of the tropical rainforest. While enjoying your surroundings you can listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above your group, curiously looking for adventure. On this 2 ½-hour nature walk you will see infinitely kinds of flora and fauna. Your experienced guide will help you easily spot wildlife you would otherwise miss, set up a telescope for you to admire them up close, and even take pictures through it.

The tour include a stop to enjoy some local fresh fruits and refreshments as you soak in the beautiful waters. When your guided educational adventure has ended, you are free to explore more of what Manuel Antonio National Park has to offer. You can take an additional hike on the forest trails or enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches – it’s up to you.

We encourage you to learn more about the history of the Quepos Indians and Costa Rica’s past in the stunningly beautiful Manuel Antonio area. Please ask about how you can help us preserve this precious ecosystem and national treasure for generations to come. It will give you a unique experience, leaving and a new perspective on nature.

We offer 3 time slots for this tour:  6:30 am, 10:30 am or 12:30pm, and the tour duration should be around 4 hrs

As we provide transportation to and from the Manuel Antonio area as part of the tour fee, when booking make sure to let us know where you'll be located that day, and we'll come pick you up!

For an extra fee, we also offer transportation services to and from other tourist hotspots in the Central Pacific, including:

General Pricing Policies

Minimum number of people to operate a tour from Manuel Antonio, Jaco and Dominical is 2 people (except for our  "Rainmaker Rainforest Hiking" and "Carara National Park" tours with a minimum of 4 people, and the "Iguana Catamaran & Snorkeling" tour with a minimum of 6 people). If the minimum is not met, the amount for the minimum number of people will be charged. Rates for customers in Dominical, between Uvita and Cristal Ballena, are based on a minimum of 4 people.

Rates for private tours are calculated based on a minimum of 6 people, each person above this must pay an additional fee

• All children under the age of 6 are free of charge.
• All children 6 years and older pay full net rate.
• All children must be under adult supervision.

In order to guarantee your reservation we do require that, on the day of the tour, you or your clients (in the case of travel agencies) show us a copy of your/their voucher, which shows us the prepayment amount and any additional details needed for their Iguana Tours Adventure.

If necessary, please submit cancellations by telephone, e-mail, or fax.

There will be no refunds on cancellations made less than 48 hours before the confirmed pick-up time for any tour.

For group tours, there are no refunds on cancellations made 7 days before the date of the tour.

Because we respect and protect our animals, the maximum weight allowed for the horseback riding tours is 200 lbs or 90 kg.
