Get in early and ensure all your MyTicketmaster account details are up to date – from your password to your card details and your phone number.

Ticketmaster will regularly ask you to update your password to ensure the security of your account – you don’t want to get stuck having to change your password while the ticket timer is counting down during onsale as you can risk losing the incredible tickets you have secured.

Instead, now that you know you want to purchase tickets, log into your account and update your password today to ensure you are ready to nab those tickets.

Get to know Ticketmaster’s Smart Queue

If you aren’t familiar with  Smart Queue , it is Ticketmaster’s way of creating a clear and fair process for thousands of fans to buy tickets in a short space of time. Fans enter the virtual  Waiting Room  prior to onsale time before joining the  Smart Queue  – which acts as a ‘virtual line’, helping us protect you and your tickets in a more effective way.

The time you join the Waiting Room does not determine your place in the Smart Queue, so we recommend joining at least 10 minutes prior to the event going on sale.

When the sale begins, the Smart Queue will open and everyone in the Waiting Room is given a place in line. Those who did not join the Waiting Room will be placed at the end of the line.

  • Sign in to your Ticketmaster account at least 10 minutes before joining the Waiting Room. This will speed up your purchase later.
  • Confirm you have a valid form of payment in your account with current email and billing information. This will make checkout a breeze.
  • Resist the urge to refresh. Your page will automatically refresh when you enter the Smart Queue.
  • Keep an eye on the time! When it’s your turn, your spot will be held for 10 minutes to begin shopping.

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as they’re progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Jack Johnson will take his new album Meet The Moonlight  around Australia throughout November and December 2022. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.au.

Live reviews

I have been waiting my whole life to see this show. What an perfect night it was to be in the pit. Jack is such a down to earth person; it was like the crowd was just hanging out with him and his band. He played all of his most popular songs and asked the crowd for requests quite a bit! He also played a couple of songs that he had been recently working on, a song he wrote about Willie Nelson, and a few songs with some neat instruments that they use in a lot of their songs (and of course, the accordian). I am so glad I was in the pit- tickets for seating were the same price! 100% of the proceeds for his merchandise sold at his shows (which is made of 100% organic cotton amd ink- and is extremely soft) is donated to charity, and his foundation. The Ohana Foundation is a large part of what is funded. This foundation funds children in need, primamrily. I know that Jack cares a lot about the environment, and carbon emission offsets were used in part of ticket fees as well. His stage decor included sea trash in strung-up lighted mason jars! How cool. Apparently, between the opener (the Bahamas), Jack was hanging out at a booth, playing some songs (which, sadly, I missed). What I would do to meet Jack and talk to him about my passion for the environment! Not to mention, his voice was perfect, and you could tell how much fun he and his bandmates (friends) were having. It was surely a night to remember ("do you remember?") :) thanks for the love, Jack. Until next time! Glad I could be part of kicking off your first tour in awhile with you. <3

Born and raised in Hawaii, it’s no real surprise Jack Johnson is such a chiller. But there’s a unique delicacy and warmth to his soft, acoustic rock that has justifiably shot him to stardom, and melted hearts the world over in the process.

Forced out of the water by a surfing accident at the age of 17, Johnson soon found refuge behind a guitar, with his early life experiences crafting his sundrenched, tender and youthful sound. Indeed, it’s the honesty and transparency of his music that makes an evening with Jack Johnson so special. Often found on stage solo, just man and guitar, Jack’s charming music breeds intimacy - making the world’s largest arenas feel like the smallest beach huts. Like a good pina colada, Jack Johnson is best enjoyed with friends, so grab some buddies and head for the front row for a good singalong!

Over the course of seven records, Johnson’s trajectory has seen him headline festivals across the globe, but, admirably, his connection to Hawaii has always remained strong. A strong involvement in the Kokua Festivals helped raise funds and awareness for environmental education in Hawaii, whilst in April 2012 Jack set out on a seven date tour of the Hawaiian islands. Right on, Jack.

A Beautiful night, Jack is always a great experience you don't want to miss.

The simple melodies set your soul at ease. The band played all the favorites with just a touch of the new album. The arrangements flowed beautifully. Jack not only sings his story, He shares them so intimately during the show, you want to invite his family to dinner! They spoke briefly about Keeping our oceans free of plastic and the lovely display of lights that surrounded the crowd and stage, are actually small pieces of plastic found in the ocean he surfs in Hawaii. The band is always warm and engaging. The Bahamas Joined the guys on stage for a beautiful tribute to Tom Petty. Amazing night under the full moon. Thanks Jack!

This is the fourth time I have seen Jack live and he never

disappoints me. This time I was able to take my 8 year old daughter which made the experience all the more enjoyable and meaningful.

Blossom is such a beautiful venue. Combine that along

With the positive energy that Jack fans create and you will understand why his fans are so loyal.

I look forward to taking both my girls to see him in Santa Barbara. An experience I'm sure all of us will enjoy

This was a great show. Jack brought the energy and engaged the audience very well. I liked his setlist and was happy he did not play many songs from his forthcoming album as the audience wouldn't have known those songs.

My only complaint is the general admission format. It penalizes people who have to come from work and gives them no chance to get a good seat. In fact, we had to rush to get there just to make sure we would have any seat at all.

I went both nights. I feel bad for the people who only got to see the first show. Don't get me wrong, but Friday was a 2 1/2 hour wonderful love fest performance and was absolutely phenomenal. Jack dissed the Thursday crowd early, referencing the lack of crowd support singing/involvement, then tried to backtrack...didn't work. My suggestion is to sing loud and you'll get the great show...sit on your hands and you're going home early.

This was the sweetest most laid back concert I've been to. I loved every second of it! A lot of people(including some friends of mine) arrived late due to traffic, so at the end he came back out to play more music for them. I love how much he loves the ocean, nature, and just people in generalm. I would recommend his concerns to anyone! <3

This was one of the best shows in my life. Jack Johnson brought out all the major hits in the form of medleys at the beginning. The artwork in the background was mind blowing. The rest of the band was great as expected and greater by improvising and making well known songs slightly different for a live scenario. Wow!

Great summer concert! Jack Johnson played all his best music, brought out special guests and friends to play some of their own original music, covered a few songs, notably Sublime's Badfish and Boss DJ, and also brought out the opening act, Lake Street Dive, during his encore.

Jack was amazing as usual. He was made to perform live, and he and his band are so talented. Best concert I've been to, fun for all ages. This venue was perfect for him and it was all good vibes. Great sound and good views from all seats. Would love to see him again!

Jack Johnson on 20 years of fame, and the woman who has helped him every step of the way

Jack Johnson stands in front of a bunch of huge trees in a forest. He looks up and past the camera.

  • X (formerly Twitter)

"I thought someday I would brag to my kids that I opened for Ben Harper, and that was it. Then it kept growing."

Jack Johnson is one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters in roots music, with over 25 million record sales and a sound that has been a cornerstone of one of the 2000s most prominent musical movements.

Yet even global superstars aren't immune from a little procrastination.

"I always enjoy making albums, it's fun every part of the way," he tells Double J's Sarah Howells on Stir It Up .

"I like writing songs a lot and I kind of always am doing that. But once I decide I'm gonna make another album, then all of a sudden, I actually have to finish it.

"It's really easy for me to start the songs, I get these little sparks for a chorus and maybe one verse, and then I usually get bored with it and I put it away for a while."

Last month Johnson released Meet The Moonlight , his first album in almost five years.

"I was always writing in the background, but sometimes I need a little kick in the butt to decide I'm actually going to put all the songs together and make it," he says.

In Johnson's instance, that kick in the butt comes from a powerful place.

"At some point, my wife [Kim Johnson] kind of helps me," he reveals. "She's always been like my editor, ever since I was 18 years old.

"She was the one that I trusted more than my own ear. She had a cooler CD collection than I did back in the day, so I trusted her ear on my songs more."

Johnson has fond memories of learning all about bands like Pixies and Sublime and delving deeper into the careers of legends like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding through his wife's eclectic collection.

He even references her love of the Pixies in 'Love Song #16' from his 2017 album All The Light Above It Too .

' When you were a little girl

And you were an ocean away from me

Didn't know what I wanted

But you were already listening to Pixies '

These days her impact on Johnson's work is arguably even more profound.

"She kind of helps me to figure out, 'Out of these 20 ideas, you should go for these 10'," he explains.

"Everybody needs an editor, because you can get a little bit lost by yourself. She helps me a lot with finishing the actual songs too, I'll show her different ideas for the final verse, and she'll give me a little direction.

"I heard Kurt Vonnegut, one of my favourite writers, say one time that when he writes he always thinks of one person, and it was his sister.

"Whether she was with him or not, as he would write every line, subliminally he would think 'Would this make her laugh? Would she enjoy this line?'

"If she would like it, he would keep going. I guess I have a few people in my life like that, and my wife's definitely one of them."

For Meet The Moonlight , Johnson found new creative stimulation in producer Blake Mills.

"We became really good friends through the process, and I really enjoyed working with him," Johnson says. "He's just an amazing musician. So, I learned a lot about playing guitar."

In the past few years, Mills has helped the likes of Alabama Shakes, Perfume Genius, Dawes and Jim James make some of their best records.

He's also a superb singer-songwriter in his own right, and the musical connection between Mills and Johnson ended up being a key part to the making of Meet The Moonlight .

One example of this is the distinctly Hawaiian-influenced 'Calm Down'. Despite living on the island for most of his life, Johnson admits playing the music of his home isn't his greatest strength.

"Growing up there, it was one style of music I would hear a lot, the traditional Hawaiian music with the slack key guitar playing and the beautiful singing," he says.

"['Calm Down'] is funny, because I can't play slide that well. I don't practice or anything. But when I found those notes, it felt very much like an older era of Hawaii. It was a kind of a soothing sound, I was really happy when I found it.

The guitar-interplay between Johnson and Mills is perhaps clearest on this track, but it's a technique they found useful across many of its tracks.

"On the final recording Blake and I sat down, as we did for a lot of the album, we kind of faced each other with two guitars and we would play at the same time," Johnson recalls.

"That track has two different guitars playing slide and we're taking turns finding these little licks.

"The beginning tracks on the records would start like that, with just two guitars, and sometimes we would keep them pretty stripped and other times we would build on top of them. But they all started with a live track of the two of us."

Slow down everyone, you're moving too fast

It's been 21 years since the release of Johnson's acclaimed debut album Brushfire Fairytales , a slow-burning hit that entered the Australian charts over a year after its release and stayed there for 45 weeks.

You can still hear the influence of that record in the work of many breezy, folk singer-songwriters that emerged through the 2000s, some of whom have become megastars in their own right.

The extent of this impact is quite astounding when you learn about the album's humble origins.

"I always just try to write songs from the perspective of where I'm at in my life at the time," Johnson says.

"The first album I wrote mostly when I was living with six other guys in a house in college. A lot of the songs, [when] I listen back, I can still kind of relate.

"But it's funny. It's like from a different time where I'm just working out the things that you have to work out, with roommates and friendships."

Reflecting on the success of that debut album, Johnson remembers the giddy excitement of achieving what seemed like significant goals at the time.

" Brushfire Fairytales – and this is not false modesty – I never thought that many people were going to hear that," he says. "We went into the studio for six days and finished the whole record. We did two songs a day.

"I was really excited to get the tour opening for Ben Harper. To me, that was like I had already reached the pinnacle.

"I really didn't dream beyond that point. I just thought that someday I would brag to my kids that I open for Ben Harper, and that was it. Then it kept growing."

While many things about Jack Johnson might remain the same over 20 years on from his debut, some things are markedly different.

He has tens of millions of monthly listeners across streaming platforms. He plays shows in arenas and amphitheatres to enormous crowds.

While he is acutely aware that everything he releases will now be heard, and judged, by an enormous number of people, he tries not to think too about it.

"When you write a group of songs, and you put them together not really ever expecting people to hear it, it's one thing," he says. "Now when I make them, it's just a little different knowing that a lot of people might hear it.

"That's part of the editing process. I almost have to just forget all that. Put it together and then decide what I'm comfortable sharing and then my mind tells me more."

Listen to Jack Johnson's records consecutively and you'll essentially get an insight into his growth as a person.

"The next record [ On and On , 2003] has a lot of young love: my wife and I [had] just got married," he says.

"Then when we brought our first little baby into the world, that was probably on the third record [ In Between Dreams , 2005]. There's lots of songs about raising a family and that kind of thing.

"I guess the biggest difference is just where I'm at in life. Now I've got these teenage kids that are super cool. I love hanging out with them, we play a lot of music together.

"They inspire me quite a bit, musically, now. I steal all kinds of ideas from them and don't give them any credit. Someday they'll hate me for it.

"Nah, just kidding."

Jack Johnson and Australia

Johnson played a one-off Australian show for Bluesfest's 30th anniversary in 2019, but hasn't toured the country extensively in around half a decade.

Jack Johnson performs at Double J's 'Best of Byron Bay Bluesfest' artist showcase.

When he returns for shows at the end of this year, it will be the longest gap between Australian visits since his first tour back in 2001.

It's nothing personal. In fact, he and his family were supposed to be here for a holiday in March of 2020.

"We literally had to decide the morning that we were about to board a plane to come to Australia," he recalls. "We were just coming out to hang out and visit friends and be down there for a while. We had to decide to stay in Hawaii."

Had they decided to board that plane at the beginning of the pandemic, they might have had an extended stay.

"That wouldn't have been bad at all!" he says. "I would have missed my mom, that's about it. Everything else would have been fine."

This year's visit is a mere extension of a deep and longstanding relationship Johnson has with Australia, one which he does not see diminishing any time soon.

"Even before the music thing started, I used to make surf movies and I would go to Australia quite a bit to shoot films and stuff," Johnson says.

"I made a lot of friends over the years in the surf world, and then through the music thing, [I have] lots of friends out there that play music. So, we definitely love coming to Australia."
