Keeway V-Cruise 125: Small Chinese cruiser that starts life as a Benda

The Keeway V-Cruise uses the Benda Fox 125 as a base and is marketed away from the model branded with the name of Keeway's compatriots.

The new Keeway V-Cruise is unmistakable for its edgy style, powerful components and vigorous V-Twin engine at the centre.

The Keeway V-Cruise 125 comes with a two cylinder, liquid cooled four stroke engine with a displacement of 125cc. The V-Cruise has a rated output of 10.2kW (13.7 horsepower) at 8500rpm as well and a maximum torque of 14.4Nm at 6500rpm. There is also a 2 in to 1 exhaust system and a fuel tank that can hold a volume of 15 litres.

In the suspension side of the machine the front suspension has telescopic forks and on the rear there is a telescopic spring oil damped coil. The front suspension stroke is 120mm and the rear shock absorber stroke is 42mm.

The weight of the V-Cruise is 140kg. The V-Cruise is 2.12 metres long, 1.05 metres tall (excluding the mirrors), the height of the seat is 0.69 metres tall and finally the bike is also 0.82 metres wide as well.

The Keeway V-Cruise keeps the feel of a classic cruiser but to bring it to the modern world with a digital dashboard. The dashboard is strategically placed below the handlebars and is rather low profile. The round digital displays all the information needed and with an added amount of style. A circular RPM gauge brings in mind traditional analog instruments: an appropriate balance in layout to the large speedometer at centre accurate to the last digit.

The price for the V-Cruise is yet to be announced.

What Do You Think Of These 125cc V-Twin Cruisers From China?

The benda fox and keeway v-cruise have made their way to europe, and have beginner riders in their sights..

You could say that European motorcycles are kinda weird. This is largely due to the strict licensing rules in the area, wherein young riders aren’t allowed to hop onto powerful machines like people in the U.S. are allowed to. I mean, if you think about it, it makes sense from a safety standpoint. Having said that, manufacturers have to come up with ways to make motorcycling enticing for young riders, despite taking speed out of the equation.

The result? A plethora of weird and wonderful motorcycles you probably never even thought existed. Sure, naked bikes and sportbikes with tiny 125cc engines have been around for many years now. But 125cc adventure bikes, and even cruisers, are now a thing. The coolest part? Some 125cc cruisers have tiny V-twin engines. Yes, manufacturers are actually making 125cc V-twins to mimic the sound and engine characteristics of bikes with ten times the displacement.

In Case You Missed It:

Granted, a tiny 125cc twin-cylinder engine isn’t exactly a novel concept, as Japanese manufactures such as Honda and Yamaha made 125cc V-twin-engined bikes like like the VT 125 Shadow and XV 125 Virago respectively. However, these bikes ceased existing in the mid-2000s. Now, small-displacement V-twins are back, and they’re from none other than China. Coming from two Chinese manufacturers—Benda and Keeway—are two new V-twin powered cruisers aimed squarely at first-timers: the Benda Fox and Keeway V-Cruise.

Interestingly, these two bikes seem to have nearly identical underpinnings. Their bodywork is the same, the frame and laid-back ergonomics are, too. Most importantly, the engine seems to be the same, as well. The only difference seems to be the fact that the Benda is available in Spain and Portugal, while the Keeway is available in Italy. It’s worth noting, however, that these two companies aren’t under the same umbrella. Benda is a brand of Zhejiang Changling Benjuan Locomotive Company, while Keeway, a brand you’re probably more familiar with, is under the Qinajiang group, which is also the parent company of Benelli and QJ Motor.

It isn’t at all unlikely, however, that the two companies have come to some sort of agreement to distribute the same model in different parts of Europe. Regardless, it looks like this pint-sized, V-twin-powered cruiser is destined to make its way to other parts of Europe, too. As for specifics, the engine is a 125cc unit, which means it has approximately 62.5cc of displacement per cylinder. Needlessly complex? Sure. However, it’s a deisgn that’ll provide young riders a close-to-authentic riding experience.

Performance-wise, the engine churns out 14 horsepower and 10 ft-lbs of torque—right at the limit of A1 and equivalent licensing requirements. Furthermore, the cruisers are equipped with a belt final drive, further adding to their American-inspired styling.

Moin, Danke für deine Eindrücke und die Infos. Sehr spannend, kannst du was zum Fahrverhalten, Sound und VMax sagen. Ist es vergleichbar mit unseren Brixtons? Ich persönlich bin auch auf der Suche nach einer Alternative zu meiner Cromwell, bin auf dieses Bike gestoßen: FK Motors Europe GmbH - B15 Bobber Aber die Keeways, Bendas, Mags und co. finde ich auch sehr interessant. VG

Moin AlexSam, das Fahrverhalten ist schon etwas anderes als mit einer Brixton. Sie geht "weicher" in die Kurven und schluckt Schlaglöcher besser durch die Upside-down-Gabel. Aber so "agil" wie eine Brixton 125er ist sie nicht. Sound ist für eine 125 schon ziemlich gut. Ich meine sie blubbert manchmal etwas wenn ich Gas wegnehme. Vor dem 1000er Service rasselt sie noch etwas wenn der Motor warm ist. Danach war alles super. VMax war bei mir so 110 km/h laut Tacho. 0 - 30 km/h ist sie etwas träge zieht aber danach besser/schneller auf 90+ im Vergleich zu meiner Brixton Cromwell 125.  

Danke für die Rückmeldung. Mit meiner Cromwell ist die gefühlte ideale Geschwindigkeit über Land so zwischen 80-90kmh. Danach wird es unentspannt, wie würdest du das bei deiner neuen beurteilen?  

Ich finde es wird ab 100 km/h unentspannt. Da klingt sie auch nicht mehr gut. 90 km/h ist mit der Maschine eine gute Reisegeschwindigkeit.

Hanway ist hierzulande (bislang) als Online oder Zündapp auf der Straße. Der Motor ist - für mich 125er - schon quirlig und zieht recht gut. Im "Finish" merkt man den preislichen Unterschied (Edit: zu den "großen" Marken) wohl. Soll heißen, nebst ABS und dem keck röhrenden 15-PS-Motor (im Vergleich zu dem, was ich sonst so kenne) oder zum Beispiel bei der Online dem TFT-Display sind dann zum Beispiel die Kunststoffschalter eher Kategorie "fühlt sich schlicht an". Ich kann da noch keine großen Erfahrungen in Sachen Laufleistung teilen, aber so ... mir machts Freude.

Also kurze Recherche, was kann der Koffer: Riemenantrieb V-Twin Motor 14 PS Bei Riemen und V-Twin war dann mein Interesse nun auch komplett geweckt. Glücklicherweise habe ich einen Vertragshändler direkt bei mir um die Ecke bei Leipzig. Also ab zum Händler und den Koffer genau begutachtet. Tja was soll ich sagen ... ein paar Tage nach dem Besuch beim Händler habe ich sie gekauft. Die ersten Kilometer Waren eine Katastrophe . Mir war natürlich klar, dass es ein Unterschied zu meiner Cromwell ist aber nicht wie groß der ist. Erster Kreisverkehr und schon schliff die linke Fußraste. Mit diesen Moped muss man die Kurven deutlich gemütlicher nehmen. Dazu kam noch der Schaltweg. Der ist gefühlt doppelt so weit im Vergleich zur Cromwell, aber dafür gingen die Gänge butterweich rein. Alles in allem fühlte ich mich auf den ersten Kilometern etwas unbeholfen mit der Maschine. 500 Kilometer Die ersten Kilometer waren geschafft. Ich hatte mich an die Schaltung, niedrige Sitzhöhe und tief sitzenden Fußrasten gewöhnt. Aber mich plagten nun Schmerzen am Steiß, die ich vorher auf der Cromwell nicht hatte. Daraufhin habe ich viel dazu gelesen und recherchiert. Es kann an der Sitzbank, Fußrasten, Polsterung, Vollmond, Luftfeuchtigkeit oder Sternzeichen liegen. Also weiterfahren und beobachten! 1100 Kilometer Nach vielem Rutschen, Schieben und Drücken habe ich meine Sitzposition endlich gefunden und die Schmerzen sind weg . Alle anfängliche Unsicherheiten sind verflogen und ich habe eine gute Zeit auf dem Moped. Probleme und Fehler wie bereits erwähnt ist die Sitzbank sehr gewöhnunsbedürftig Warnlampe für die Temperatur leuchte immer mal wieder (Lüfter vom Wasserkühler defekt) Simmerring Schaltwelle undicht Aktuell befindet sie sich beim 1000er Service. Dort werden auch die gennanten Fehler auf Garantie behoben Fazit Die Keeway/Benda V-Cruise 125 hat mich in den ersten 1100 Kilometern komplett überzeugt. Trotz anfänglicher Herausforderungen mit der Sitzposition und dem Schaltweg, hat sich das Fahrgefühl mit der Zeit deutlich verbessert. Die Entscheidung für das Motorrad wurde eindeutig durch den Riemenantrieb und den V-Twin Motor beeinflusst, die sich als gute Wahl erwiesen haben. Allerdings gab es auch technische Fehler, die im Rahmen des 1000er Services auf Garantie behoben werden. Trotzdem bleibt das Design und die Performance der V-Cruise 125 beeindruckend und vielversprechend für zukünftige Fahrten. Grüße Zum Vergrößern anklicken....

Denke das ist auch eine Sache der Getriebeübersetzung und des Ritzels sowie Zahnrad. Kann, muss aber nicht.

Die hat 165 Kg.Die Felsberg 135Kg. Also schneller wird die nicht sein, und wie gesagt ist das auch eine Sache des Getriebes.  

Hallo und danke für den Bericht. Ich überlege auch schon lange von meiner Cromwell auf eine V Cruise umzusteigen, weil mir die Optik einfach sehr gefällt. Ich habe auch Probe gesessen und fand sie super. Wie bist du mit der Verarbeitung im ganzen zufrieden?

Innovative Digital Gauge The central gauge intelligently displays multiple metrics within the same unit so you can enjoy the aesthetics as much as its ease of use.

LED LIGHTING Road illumination is an all-LED affair, starting at the front with a multi-element headlight. The circular daytime-running light, the low beam, and the high beam are positioned on different levels to project a complex visual impact. The taillight and turn signals are also LED, in the form of classic minimalist bullet lights.

V-TWIN ENGINE At the heart of the cruiser is the coveted V-twin engine, 125cc. Liquid cooling, electronic fuel injection, and multiple valves push impressive power and torque figures into this modern engine. A 6-speed gearbox ensures the right gear even at higher cruising speeds, and the 2-into-1 exhaust ensures the right sound - always.

Powerful Disc Brakes The large-diameter disc brake rotors inspire confident and responsive braking, measuring 300mm at the front and 240mm in the rear.

Rear Beacon Aesthetics shine bright on this model and its throwback rear light— be seen and stand out among the crowd.

Der Keeway V-Cruise mit ihrem 4-Takt 2-Zylinder-Motor mit Einspritzung und einem Hubraum von 125 Kubik steht die Keeway RKV 125C mit ihrem 4-Takt 2-Zylinder-Motor mit gleichem Hubraum gegenüber.

Bei der V-Cruise federt vorne eine Telegabel konventionell. Die RKV 125C setzt vorne auf eine in Federvorspannung verstellbare Telegabel Upside-Down und hinten arbeitet ein Monofederbein.

Für die notwendige Verzögerung sorgt auf der V-Cruise vorne eine Einzelscheibe mit 312 Millimeter Durchmesser und und hinten eine Scheibe mit 240 Millimeter Durchmesser und. Die RKV 125C vertraut vorne auf eine Einzelscheibe. Hinten ist eine Scheibe verbaut.

Bei der Bereifung setzt V-Cruise auf Schlappen mit den Maßen 120 / 80 - 16 vorne und 150 / 80 - 15 hinten. Für Bodenkontakt sorgen auf der RKV 125C Reifen in den Größen 120/80-17 vorne und 140/70-17 hinten.

Der Radstand der Keeway V-Cruise misst 1.420 Millimeter, die Sitzhöhe beträgt 690 Millimeter. Die Keeway RKV 125C ist von Radachse zu Radachse 1.460 mm lang und ihre Sitzhöhe beträgt 690 Millimeter.

In den Tank der V-Cruise passen 15 Liter Sprit. Bei der RKV 125C sind es 19 Liter Tankvolumen.
