If you dream of waking up each morning to a view of the Aegean Sea, Kouros Boutique Hotel Mykonos provides an excellent lodging option: Each room boasts ocean vistas from its veranda. This hotel (renovated in 2018) offers 24-hour front desk service, a large outdoor pool, a full-service spa and much more. The guest rooms come equipped with coffee and tea makers, satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi access and sweeping sea views. Travelers can also enjoy picturesque views from the hotel's exclusive 22-seat restaurant Narcissus, where the chef crafts modern Greek dishes with ingredients sourced from local farmers. If guests can pull themselves away from the breathtaking views, they will find popular attractions like Paraportiani Church, the windmills at Kato Myli and Little Venice are less than 2 miles south of the resort. While the town of Mykonos is easily accessible, some guests were disappointed that there was no direct beach access (getting to the beach requires a car or shuttle). However, staff members are happy to advise travelers on the area's best beaches, such as Paradise Beach and Psarou Beach.

Where to stay in Mykonos: Kouros Hotel and Suites review

Are you looking for somewhere to stay in mykonos.

There is a certain fame surrounding Mykonos, Greece. The party island, with its sandy beaches, blue oceans and frequent celebrity guests, is considered one of the absolute must-visit destinations in Europe.

And so, after the travel ban restrictions lifted and before the winter months kicked in, we thought we’d snatch a little bit of sunshine on the famous island, and we were lucky enough to do so at the secret gem boutique hotel, Kouros Hotel and Suites . So what happened during our stay, and would we recommend the hotel? Read our review here... 

Where is Kouros Hotel and Suites? 

The ‘sugar-cube’ hotel, with its trademark Greek whitewashed walls, is located on sloping hills, around a 15-minute walk from Little Venice and Old Port - and a very quick ten-minute drive from Mykonos airport. Its lofty location allows for gorgeous ocean views, and the whole hotel radiates coolness and tranquillity from the moment you're handed a glass of fizz upon arrival. 

What was our stay like?

We were shown to a spacious, stylish room with a large double bed, comfy sofa and bathroom with all of the amenities you could need, and were delighted to discover a wide balcony, complete with sunbeds, should we wish to squirrel ourselves away for sunbathing on the terrace.

The staff couldn’t have been more friendly, or do more to cater to us during our stay. Despite our very close proximity to the reception, we were waited on hand and foot by porters, drivers and the reception team, who made sure we had everything we needed and were content.

The team’s determination to go above and beyond was also demonstrated during our time lounging by the pool, as they managed to manifest - seemingly out of nowhere - a whole new set of sunbeds for a somewhat disgruntled family who arrived by the poolside too late and missed out on cinching an available space. 

Zoe Spa at Kouros Hotel 

Kouros boasts a cosy spa where an array of treatments are on hand including Valmont facials and massages. I opted for the Adonis Relaxing Aromassage - and it was one of my favourite parts of the trip! The masseuse, Maria, was hugely attentive and asked all the right questions before the treatment, so I received exactly what I wanted out of the experience. The spa also has a sauna and a hammam, for those who love spending a little bit of R&R inside as well as out on holiday! 

If you are keen on fitness, there is also a very well-equipped gym right by the reception for all of your workout needs.

Where to eat, drink and party in Mykonos 

Kouros Hotel has a beautiful fine dining restaurant, Narcissus, in which you can either be seated inside, or by one of the glowing pools with stunning views. There is also a nifty seating area above the bar, but due to the windy evenings during our stay, we opted to stay shielded from the breeze and remained by the pool.

The food is second-to-none, with delicious ceviche served in front of you, alongside some other mouthwatering options included lobster ravioli and exquisite lamb loin. There was also a sommelier at hand who was more than happy to pair wine with our food. 

For those wanting more of an upbeat vibe, we would absolutely recommending spending one night visiting the incomparable Buddha-Bar in Ornos Beach , an Asian restaurant that serves delicious dumplings, seafood and some of the best sushi we have ever tasted. The night gets livelier as it goes on, and by the time the bar has played its final upbeat remixed ABBA number, we were more than ready to try out the party scene we’d heard so much about.

For a fun and silly experience, we would recommend Scandinavian Bar in Mykonos Town, a pleasantly busy and energetic bar that had plenty of reasonably priced beverages (for Mykonos, that is). The bar was also a reasonable distance from Kouros - so extra bonus points!

How much does it cost to stay at Kouros? 

To stay in the deluxe suite, prices start at €950 per night. The lead-in rate for a double room starts at €680. The hotel is currently offering discounted last-minute stays, starting at £224.14 a night for two for a classic double with a sea view. Kouros Hotel & Suites

Less than 1,000 feet from the swarming narrow streets of Mykonos Town, you will find a calm escape at Kouros Hotel & Suites. The whitewashed Cycladic building clings onto the side of a cliff so you can get a glimpse of the Aegean Sea whether you’re enjoying traditional loukoumi sweets and lemon water in the lobby while looking through the telescope at the big-picture windows, sipping bubbly on the champagne deck or cooling off with cocktails in the infinity pool.

All 40 rooms in the boutique hotel also overlook the water. In 2022, Kouros debuted newly renovated suites and villas from French designer Fabienne Spahn. She punctuated the white spaces with pops of black to lend a more contemporary feel, plus white marble covers the floor and black marble lines the vast shower. Another incentive to stay in these spacious suites: they come with complimentary room service breakfast, which is much-needed after partaking in the island’s party-until-the-sun-comes-up nightlife.

If you need more recovery, spend time in the hotel’s relaxing spa, order delicious modern Greek fare at the restaurant and then lounge by the sparkling infinity pool, where the bar will ply you with fruity strawberry Aperol spritzes as you bask in the sunshine.

• Soak up vistas of the Aegean Sea and the new marina from the infinity pool and the cushy loungers lining it. It’s the best spot on the property to catch Mykonos’ blazing sunsets.
• All-day poolside restaurant Narcissus also affords prime sunset viewing. Another reason to visit: the small but well-curated menu of delicious dishes. Lunch brings fare like pita with spreads, like tarama (a dip made of roe), hummus, baba ghanoush and gorgonzola tzatziki, and a Greek salad loaded with red and green grape tomatoes. At dinner, the juicy tenderloin comes with pureed potatoes that are mixed tableside with egg yolk and Parmesan for a rich touch.
• Don’t bypass drinks at the restaurant and adjacent bar. We enjoyed the Tulum Raider, which manages to be smoky and sweet (thanks to mezcal, tequila blanco, Aperol, fresh lime juice and pineapple). But you can also try some Greek wines and spirits, like mastiha , an anise-flavored liqueur.
• The boutique hotel boasts an excellent location. It’s a 10-minute walk from Mykonos Town, Little Venice and the windmills, all of which rank among the island’s most popular attractions. Yet it’s far enough to be away from the fray.
• Every accommodation comes with a water view and a balcony or terrace. Book a suite with a pool or a Jacuzzi so you can see the waves while swimming or soaking.
• The seasonal Mykonos hotel opens from May to October.
• Rejuvenate at Zoe Spa. Using products from KOS Paris and Greek brand Juliette Armand, the small, tranquil facility provides a treatment room for massages, scrubs and facials, and another room for manicures and pedicures. There’s also a hydrotherapy area with a hammam and hot tub that’s open to all hotel guests with advance sign-up.
• The best way to rent a car is to do it through the helpful concierges (the hotel partners with a local rental agency). Kouros offers complimentary guest parking, too.

Kouros Hotel Review – Where to Stay in Mykonos

A fter spending 3 days in Santorini I was convinced the sunsets on the Greek Islands couldn’t get any better…then I stayed at the Kouros Hotel. This Mykonos property gave my photo snapping time in Oia a good challenge. It also provided a modern and comfortable location to explore Mykonos from…although once I saw my room it was pretty hard to leave it. This is my Kouros Hotel review.

Modern yet Traditional

Walking into the cliffside Kouros Hotel I was surprised to find modern furnishings with a Greek island feel. The rooms are spacious, something not too common in traditional Greek island hotels, and includes many modern touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In my room, this included a cosy living space with a couch and modern artwork, an espresso machine, and a desk. Then there was the bathroom complete with a jet tub.

Oh and don’t forget the views! Rooms at this hotel face west and provide the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun melt into the Aegean Sea.

Conveniently Quiet

The Kouros Hotel is conveniently located above Mykonos’s new harbour and minutes from the old. If you are island hopping there is no better place to rest your head. From there it is a short walk to the scenic old town where you will find shops, restaurants, cafés, and endless alleys for you to get lost in. You will also find the iconic Mykonos windmills , a great spot to enjoy sunset… but then again so is the private deck at the Kouros Hotel.

Around the Grounds

From the lobby to the poolside bar, this hotel has plenty of space to relax. I spent a good chunk of my time catching up on writing in the lobby lounge area because:

• It was super comfortable and
• It came with friendly service.

Beyond the seemingly resident cat that just wants to cuddle, the staff at the Kouros Hotel was always quick to ask if I needed anything or offer suggestions.

When I wasn’t enjoying the local company in the lobby I was poolside enjoying the Greek sun. The Kouros Hotel has one of the nicest pool lounge areas I have been lucky enough to enjoy…and enjoy it I did!

Next to the pool, you will find the hotel’s small restaurant. There I enjoyed an impressive breakfast spread, which is included in the stay. Thankfully the Kouros Hotel also has a small gym, perfect for working off the litres of Greek yoghurt and honey I consumed.

Stay traditional, Stay Comfortable

For a modern Mykonos stay in a traditional setting, choose the Kouros Hotel. Its friendly staff and perfect location for exploring the old town makes this hotel a win. Add in the private sunsets and modern touches and you won’t want to leave your room.

" Buss are all you need to get around but can get really busy "
