MY TOP 3 PICKS FOR MALAGA BOAT TOURS

MOST ROMANTIC ❤️ Sunset Sailing Catamaran Trip with Glass of Cava A lovely sunset experience with cava and music!

MOST ACTION-FILLED Benalmadena Coast Tour with Lunch & Water Activities A fun Malaga boat tour with waterslide, paddleboard, kayak, and snorkeling options.

BEST FOR PARTY 🥂 Friday Evening Boat Party A fun experience to meet other travelers and spend time on the sea with music and drinks.

Malaga Boat Tours

Malaga: sunset sailing catamaran trip with glass of cava.

Duration: 1.5 hours Wheelchair accessible: Yes

What’s included in the boat tour:

  • local guide
  • glass of cava
  • live DJ on specific days in the summer

What’s not included in the boat tour:

  • food and additional drinks
  • swimming stops
  • hotel pick-up and drop-off

If you would like to enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise with a bubbly glass of cava, this is a great option for you! In the high season, you can even pick a departure with a live DJ some days a week, playing relaxing music on board as you soak in the pink sunset.

Seeing the sunset from the sea is one of my favorite adventures, as you get the contrast of a busy Malaga where the city lights get clearer and clearer as the sun goes down behind the mountains.

This is without a doubt a wonderful Malaga sunset cruise that will leave you will unforgettable memories!

Malaga: Friday Evening Boat Party

Duration: 3 hours Age limit: 18 years with a valid ID card

  • one drink (beer, wine, soft drink, or bottle of water)
  • swimming stop (when the sea allows it)

This is the ideal Malaga boat tour for the younger crowds that are looking for a party boat experience. With upbeat music, a bar with affordable drinks (make sure you bring enough cash!), and the opportunity to meet other travelers, this is a really cool experience!

Make sure you bring your swimwear too because this boat will stop for swimming too (as long as the weather is not grumpy, but you might not even be on the boat in that case.)

The boat does not provide any swimming gear, but you are welcome to bring your own. This is probably one of the most fun boat trips in Malaga.

There is also a photographer on board taking pictures of everyone to make sure you keep the memories for the future.

Note that this tour leaves from Benalmadena and not from Malaga port. You can take the train or a taxi from Malaga to Benalmadena.

Malaga boat tour

Gibraltar + Dolphin Watching by Boat

Duration: 10 hours Mandatory documents: Passport + visa (if required)

  • bus ride from Malaga to La Linea (border of Gibraltar) and back
  • dolphin watching tour
  • food and drinks
  • entry tickets to sites in Gibraltar

This is without a doubt the best Malaga to Gibraltar day trips ! Not only do you get to explore the little British territory, see the only wild monkeys in Europe, and explore the Rock of Gibraltar.

You also get a 90-minute boat ride in the Strait of Gibraltar looking for dolphins. While there is no guarantee of seeing dolphins in the wild, there is a great chance of spotting them in this area.

Shopaholics will also be happy to know that you can shop tax-free in Gibraltar, so make sure you bring your credit card!

Malaga: Catamaran Cruise with Optional Swimming Stop

Duration: 1-1.5 hours

  • swimming stop on the 1.5 hours tour

This is an excellent Malaga catamaran tour with music and a bar on board where you can purchase drinks. If you choose the 1-hour tour, you can sunbathe on the net in the front and take in the sea breeze.

The 1.5 hours catamaran trip (not available in December and January) offers a swimming stop. On a good day, this is the best catamaran trip Malaga can offer. I love getting into the water and it is a lovely way to cool down on a hot day.

Note that this is not one of those guided boat tours in Malaga which includes a commentary with info about the city and the things that you see. This is basically a trip out on the sea, to enjoy the catamaran, the sun, a few drinks, and a swim (if opted for and possible.)

Malaga: A Sea of Stars Nighttime Stargazing Catamaran Tour

  • guide explaining the constellations
  • a glass of cava

This is one of the new boat trips from Malaga that I can’t wait to go on! There is no better way to stargaze than from the open sea and this Malaga boat tour offers exactly that.

With a guide that explains all the constellations and stars that you see in the sky, live music on board, and a glass of cava in hand, it is hard to rival such an experience. There is also a bar onboard where you can purchase additional drinks.

While you enjoy a stargazing catamaran tour, Malaga at night is also a mesmerizing sight at night with the glittering lights meeting you on the way back to the port.

Malaga boat trip

Malaga: Captain Your Own Boat without a License

Duration: 30 minutes-4 hours Age limit for boat driver: 18 years

  • explanation of how to use the boat
  • water sport equipment

If you have dreamt of going out on a private boat ride, Malaga offers boat rentals where you can drive yourself without a license.

This is a great opportunity to get the freedom of exploring the coast as you want and check out beaches and bays yet in the privacy of your own party.

You will get good instructions on how to drive the boat before you set out and insurance for both you and the boat is included. As far as boat trips in Malaga Spain go, this is a truly unique and fun experience.

Boat cruise Malaga

Malaga: Benalmadena Coast Tour with Lunch & Water Activities

Duration: 3.5 hours

  • transportation from Malaga to Benalmadena and back
  • 20-foot water slide
  • snorkeling equipment
  • kayaks and paddleboards
  • small lunch
  • additional food and drinks

If you are looking for a fun-filled day jam-packed with water activities, there are no better Malaga boat tours than this! With a 20-foot water slide on board, snorkeling gear, and kayaks/paddleboards to use, this is a hit for the whole family.

I especially like that these action-filled boat trips in Malaga Spain leave with smaller groups on board. This gives you a chance to get to know others on the boat while it doesn’t get too crowded.

Get ready for a fun and wet day on this epic Malaga boat tour!

Final thoughts on Malaga boat trips

Whether you are looking for a party boat, an action-filled boat tour, or a romantic sunset cruise, Malaga has it all. I am sure you will find something for your liking within the above options.

Personally, I love this city so much, and going on a Malaga boat trip is one of the best things to do in Malaga without a doubt.

If you are staying only one day in Malaga , you could go on a Malaga sunset boat trip before leaving or check out the boat trips from Malaga port, Muelle Uno – just a stone’s throw away from the bustling historic center of Malaga .

Nonetheless, I am sure you will have a blast! Happy travels!

Málaga Self-Guided Walking Tour

This self-guided Málaga walking tour starts at the Gibralfaro and finishes at La Malagueta beach. You’ll spend the morning in and around the Old Town, visit the excellent Picasso Museum and explore the city’s lovely urban bach area in the afternoon.

Think of it as a loose framework on which to hang your day.

End-to-end, the total distance is around 3 miles . If you explore the Old Town, this will increase its length (I encourage you to do this).

CASTILLO DE GIBRALFARO

The Gibralfaro Castle (Castillo de Gibralfaro) dominates Málaga’s skyline.

In the early 8 th Century, the Moors invaded Spain and Málaga flourished as the main port for the nearby city of Granada . They held the city until its conquest by Christian forces in 1487.

Much of what we see of the impressive Gibralfaro Castle was built by Yusuf I of Granada between 1344 and 1354 to protect the Alcazaba and to house troops.

From its ramparts and terraces, there are magnificent views over Málaga, its port and the Mediterranean.

panoramic views of rooftops of malaga and mountains beyond from the gibralfaro

Address: Camino Gibralfaro, 11

Opening hours : The Gibralfaro is open daily. Seasonal opening times apply.

Getting to the Gibralfaro Castle : I went there on foot, taking the path that winds its way around the Alcazaba.

This walk is spectacularly pretty but also spectacularly steep. Don’t attempt it under the glare of the midday sun.

Bus number 35 runs between the Gibralfaro and Avenida Andalucia, Alameda Principal or Paseo del Parque.  The castle is also one of the stops on the city’s hop-on-hop-off bus.

Try to visit the Gibralfaro first thing in the morning to avoid the heat of the day and the worst of the crowds.

Learn more about the Gibralfaro: For more information when you are there, download the free audio guide using the QR code displayed at the entrance.

THE ALCAZABA

The Moors are also responsible for Málaga’s magnificent Alcazaba. Built between the 8 th and 11 th Centuries, it served as the residence of the Arab Emirs, who created an independent kingdom upon the break-up of the Western Caliphate.

The Alcazaba was my favourite place in Málaga.

islamic stone gateway framed by orange trees

Its pathways, lined with orange trees and bougainvillaea, lead through a series of graceful gates, designed to keep unwelcome visitors at bay. The Nasrid Palace at the Alcazaba’s upper level is a younger, more peaceful cousin of its more famous namesake at the Alhambra in Granada .

From the Alcazaba, there are also panoramic views across Málaga, the glittering Mediterranean and the countryside beyond.

Address: Calle Alcazabilla, 2

Opening hours : The Alcazaba is open daily. Seasonal opening times apply.

ROMAN THEATRE

roman theatre in front of castle walls on hill

Málaga’s oldest monument lies in the shadow of the Alcazaba.

The Roman Theatre was built during the reign of Augustus in the 1 st  Century AD and remained in use until the 3 rd  Century. There’s an interpretation centre next door which houses archaeological discoveries from the site.

MÁLAGA’S OLD TOWN

Málaga Old Town is a testament to the city’s rich history. I recommend wandering around here and then making your way to the cathedral.

beige ochre and salmon pink houses lining narrow street in malaga spain

Plaza de la Merced was part of the city in Roman times. It has been home to a market since at least the 15 th  Century.

Plaza de la Constitución has been the beating heart of Málaga since the Moorish period.

If you are in the mood for a spot of upmarket retail therapy after all of that history, head to Calle Marqués de Larios (Larios Street) . During winter, it is beautifully illuminated.

MÁLAGA CATHEDRAL

interior of malaga cathedral with soaring columns and alcoves

The next stop on your Málaga 1-day itinerary is its so-called One-Armed Lady.

Málaga Cathedral owes its nickname, La Manquita, to its unfinished state. When building funds ran dry in the 17 th Century, the tower on its west side was the most visible casualty.

The Cathedral has a superb collection of paintings and sculptures and an exquisitely carved wooden choir. But the highlight for me was the views across its roof.

Address:  Calle Molina Lario, 9

Opening hours : Málaga Cathedral and its roof are open daily. Check  opening times here.

MUSEO PICASSO

abstract painting by pablo picasso

No Málaga itinerary is complete without paying your respects to the city’s favourite son.

Pablo Picasso was born here in 1881 and lived in the city until he was ten. The Picasso Museum displays his artworks in thematic and chronological order, covering 80 years of his prolific career.

You’ll also learn a lot about the women in his life. There were two wives and three partners and, with the exception of his second wife, he outlived them all.

Address : Calle San Agustín

Opening hours : Open daily. You can check the seasonal opening hours here .

Ticket price : Admission fee applies which includes an excellent audioguide. You can buy your skip-the-line ticket here .

If you are a Picasso enthusiast, you can also visit the house where he was born. Casa Natal de Picasso on Plaza de la Merced is now a museum dedicated to his family background

CENTRE POMPIDOU MÁLAGA

Málaga’s Pompidou Centre , an offshoot of the Pompidou Centre in Paris, is a relatively new addition to Málaga’s cultural landscape.

The centre is also known as “The Cube” thanks to its steel and stained glass skylight,

Its permanent collection is made up of 70 works selected from the Pompidou Centre’s collection of 20 th and 21 st Century art. Málaga’s Pompidou Centre also hosts temporary exhibitions.

The lovely Muelle Uno flanks the port of Málaga. Lined with orange and palm trees, this pedestrian promenade is a lovely spot to stop for a drink.

LA MALAGUETA

Malagueta Beach stretches for over one kilometre between the Port of Málaga and La Caleta Beach.

A pleasant promenade, lined with towering palm trees that are occupied by vocal parrots, runs alongside this sandy Blue Flag beach.

This is the ideal place to relax and perhaps enjoy a plate of fried fish for which Málaga is famous at one of its chiringuitos as the sun sets .

Other Things to Do in Málaga, Spain

Ultimately, how you spend your day in Málaga will depend on your tastes and interests, and how relaxed you wish your itinerary to be. Here are a few suggestions if you want to squeeze in more sights or have more than a day in Málaga.

EXPLORE MÁLAGA’S STREET ART

street art in malaga spain of young child wearing face mask

From street art in my hometown of London to iconic artworks in Penang Malaysia , I try to explore urban art wherever I am.  Málaga can give both of these destinations a run for their money.

Since 2013, MUAS (Málaga Arte Urban Soho), has transformed previously rundown neighbourhoods into an urban outdoor art gallery, attracting some of the world’s best street artists.

The best street art areas of Málaga are Soho, between the port and Alameda Principal, and around Calle Victoria.

There is a useful street art map here .

ATARAZANAS MARKET

With its multitude of food stalls and small bars, Atarazanas Market is the perfect place to buy fresh produce or to stop for lunch

This cathedral to food started life as a Nasrid shipyard in the 14 th Century, only becoming a market at the end of the 19 th Century. Don’t miss its rear façade that features a stained glass window depicting scenes from Málaga’s history.

The Atarazanas Market is open from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to around 2-3 pm

Address : Calle Atarazanas, 10

How to Get to Málaga

Málaga is well served by train, bus and air.

map showing location of train stations and cruise terminal in malaga spain

Getting to Málaga from other Spanish cities by train

Spain’s AVE high-speed trains run to Málaga’s main Maria Zambrano station from Madrid (from 2 hr 30 minutes), Seville (from 2 hours), Valencia (from 5 hours) and Barcelona (from 6 hours). Book in advance for the best fares.

Getting to Málaga from Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos by train

If you are travelling from one of the resort towns on the Costa del Sol – Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Torremolinos – use the C1 line which terminates at the more conveniently located Málaga Centro Alameda.

Trains run every 20 minutes throughout the day.

Getting to Málaga by bus

Travelling by bus in Spain is sometimes quicker and more convenient than taking a train. For example; when I compared options for travelling between Granada and Málaga , the bus was the better option.

Málaga’s bus station is located next to Maria Zambrano train station.

How to get to Málaga by air

As the main hub for the Costa del Sol, Málaga Airport is served by a number of airlines. Located just 8 km from central Málaga, it is cheap and easy to travel from.

If you don’t want to fork out for a taxi, take the C1 train to Málaga Centro Alameda. The journey from Málaga Airport takes a mere 11 minutes and trains run every 20 minutes.

How to get from Málaga Cruise Terminal to the city centre

If you are arriving in Málaga on a cruise, you will disembark at the city’s shiny new cruise terminal close to Muelle Uno and La Malagueta. From here, it’s an easy 15-minute walk to the city centre.

Alternatively, the Port Authority of Málaga operates a shuttle bus from the cruise terminal to Plaza de la Marina in the historic city centre. There’s also a solar-powered road train that runs between the cruise terminal and Plaza de la Marina.

How to Get Around Málaga

Málaga is a very walkable city. Its main attractions are spread over a concentrated area and the best way of getting around is on foot.

But, if you prefer, there is the inevitable hop-on-hop-off (HOHO) bus service.

Where to Stay in Málaga

If you are staying in Málaga , base yourself in the Old Town area around the Cathedral or the trendy Soho district. These areas are close to the city’s main attractions, bars and restaurants and offer accommodation to suit all budgets.

Here are my top choices:

Mid-range apartment: Suites del Pintor

I stayed at this apartment in the Old Town, which is a great self-catering choice in Málaga. The washing machine, Nespresso machine and roof terrace were bonuses.

Where to Eat in Málaga

You certainly won’t go hungry in Málaga. Here are a few places that I tried and can recommend.

Café Bar Moran

This friendly breakfast spot in Soho serves cheap coffee and tostada with a smile.

Address: Calle Tómas Heredia, 12

Madame Suzanne

If you are not keen on tapas, try this French restaurant in Soho. It is open for breakfast and lunch daily and for dinner on Friday and Saturday.

Address: Calle Casas de Campos, 31

Madeinterranea

This Old Town restaurant serves excellent food and the service was superb.

Address: Pl. de Uncibay

Another recommendation is this modern tapas restaurant in the shadow of the Roman Theatre.

Address: Calle Alcazabilla 1

El Mesón de Cervantes

This cosy traditional tapas bar on the edge of the Old Town served one of my best meals whilst I was travelling in Southern Spain. Just be careful which wine you choose as some of the wines by the glass are pricey.

Address: Calle Álamos, 11

One Day in Málaga: FAQs

When is the best time to visit málaga, spain.

Thanks to its temperate climate, you can visit Málaga year-round.   When I visited in February, afternoon temperatures were in the low to mid-20s and the orange trees were vibrant with fruit. As there were fewer visitors than in peak season, exploring Málaga’s highlights was a delight.   Between March and May, the days and nights are warmer but still comfortable. The sea may just be warm enough to chance a dip and the orange trees will be blooming.   The autumn (fall) months have similarly comfortable temperatures.   To avoid the intense summer heat, don’t visit between June and August.

Is one day in Málaga enough?

I’ll level with you. One day won’t be long enough to see all that Málaga has to offer.   However, you’ll be able to see Málaga’s highlights in a day, take a walk along its beach and explore its artistic heritage.

What should I not miss in Málaga?

Don’t miss the Alcazaba, Gibralfaro and Cathedral when you are visiting Málaga. Not only do all of these sites encapsulate the city’s rich history, but there are also fabulous views of Málaga from the Cathedral’s rooftop and from the Gibralfaro.

Is Málaga Worth Visiting?

You can get a taste of Andalusia for very little effort by spending just one day in Málaga. It has history and culture in spades, a balmy climate, a sandy beach and many bars at which to get your tapas fix.

This is one of the best cities to visit in Spain .

20 Malaga Tours for an Epic Vacation

Whether you want to enjoy all of the best tapas, learn about the history of this city, or get out on the water, there are plenty of Malaga tours that you will no doubt love.

There are so many awesome things to do in Malaga and there are some fantastic day trips that you can enjoy with Malaga as your base as well. If you decide to hire a car in Malaga , you can probably opt out of some of these tour options and simply explore them on your own.

However, sometimes there is no replacement for a knowledgeable guide. If you want to learn about the history of the Alcazaba, the Roma ruins, or about why one of the largest collections of Picasso’s art is in Malaga, then you’ll need to get yourself a tour guide.

This list is extensive and includes everything from free walking tours in Malaga to boat tours in Malaga and everything in between. You’re sure to find the right Malaga tour for you and your family.

Boat Tours in Malaga

If you want to take a Malaga boat tour, you have several great options depending on your budget and how much you want to see and do on the water.

  • Fly Blue is the most famous boat company in Malaga and one of the most affordable options when it comes to taking a boat trip in Malaga. The cheapest option is a €12 boat trip that takes you out into Malaga bay and operates three times a day and lasts for one hour. You can also take a €15 trip that lasts for an hour and a half and goes a little bit further along the coastline. For €18 you can take a sunset cruise that lasts for an hour and a half. The trip is on a catamaran and during the summer months, it can be pretty busy. Book one of those boat trips here .
  • Mundo Marino is another popular option for a boat tour in Malaga. They offer catamaran cruises for an hour for €13 and unlike the Fly Blue, the Mundo Marino boat is a sailboat, so you will get to enjoy the beauty of being on a sailboat through the bay around Malaga. Check the times and book that tour here .
  • Feel confident enough to captain your own private boat? This boat trip in Malaga is completely self-guided and you don’t need a boat license to enjoy a trip out into the bay. This is a fun way to explore the coastline at your own pace, stop when you want to for a swim, or slowly explore the bays around Malaga with a packed picnic. Prices vary depending on how long you want to rent the boat for. Check prices and book it here .
  • Go to Gibraltar and explore the coast here by boat with this tour. You will be picked up in Malaga and transported to Gibraltar by bus where you will then get on a boat to explore the area. The idea of the tour is to go dolphin-spotting, but you also get the chance to spend some free time in Gibraltar doing some tax-free shopping or having some lunch. Book that tour here .

Enjoy sunset tours out on the water or from the best beaches in Malaga like nearby towns like Marbella.

Free Walking Tours in Malaga

If you want to take a free walking tour in Malaga, there are several great options.

If you aren’t familiar with free walking tours, they are not exactly free, but rather they are a tip-based tour system that allows you to “give what you feel it was worth.”

You meet the tour operator and they have a knowledgeable guide take you around the city offering interesting stories and information. At the end of the tour, you can give the guide a tip based on your experience on the tour. This is the only pay the guide receives, so be generous.

  • Free Tours Andalucia is a great company for your classic Old Town Malaga free walking tour. If you want to get to know the history of the Old Town they offer a tour three times a day that lasts for about two hours and takes you around to 19 different sites where you will learn about the history and present-day importance of many of these different locations in Malaga. They also offer free walking tours of the Alcazaba. Check all of the times and book a slot on their website here .
  • Explora Malaga is another company that offers free walking tours in Malaga. They have two tours a day of the Old Town of Malaga as well as a free tour of the Alcazaba available twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Old Town tour is particularly fantastic for history lovers because it focuses on spots like the Roman Amphitheater and Malaga Cathedral. Check all of the availability and book it here .
  • Paraguas Naranjas or Orange Umbrellas is a company in Malaga that has a nice selection of free walking tours as well as other types of tours with set prices. They have historical walking tours, tours of the Alcazaba and Roman Amphitheater as well as tours of the Malaga Cathedral. If you would prefer to hire a knowledgeable guide and build your own itinerary, this is the best company to get a tour guide for price and quality. Check all of the options and book here .

The entrance to the alacazaba and Roman theater where you can explore on your own or on a walking tour of Malaga.

Malaga City Tours

There are tons of different ways to explore Malaga. If you don’t want to take a free walking tour, you can also opt for things like segway or bike tours as well.

You can also book tours that take you inside some of the most famous sites like the Alcazaba or Cathedral, which the above free walking tours don’t actually do (they only take you to them and explain their significance).

These Malaga City Tours all have set prices and offer something a little bit different. All include interesting and knowledgeable bilingual (sometimes trilingual) guides.

  • Alcazaba and Roman Theatre Tour includes your entry tickets to both locations as well as a guide who will walk you through the two locations offering insightful information about the history of the buildings. These are two of the most important sites in Malaga, so if you love history and want to learn more about Malaga, this is the tour to take. It starts at a only €13. Book that tour here .
  • City Tour by Electric Tuk Tuk is the perfect Malaga tour that means you don’t have to do much walking or exert much effort at all in fact, but you’re still moving slow enough to see all of the sites and get information from a guide. This is a great way to get a better understanding of the city’s layout and learn about the different sites that you’ll pass by while you’re riding around town. Regardless of how many people (up to four), the tour costs €70. Book the tuk tuk tour here .
  • This Bike Tour of Malaga is a fantastic way to get active and see a lot of the city in a short period of time. You’ll cycle through the port area, along the beach promenade, past Picasso’s birthplace, and you’ll visit a neighborhood full of street art and colorful homes. This is a fun tour to do on a sunny day which also allows you to learn more about what you’re seeing along the way. The tour costs €30 per person. Book that tour here .
  • 3-Hour Walking Tour in Malaga is a good option if you like the idea of the free walking tours, but you want to go inside all of the different sites and really explore the city deeply. This tour will require you to be on your feet walking the cobbled streets for three hours, but you’ll see and go inside the Alcazaba, Cathedral of Malaga, and you’ll finish with a glass of local wine. The walking tour includes entry and skip-the-line tickets to the Alcazaba, Roman Theatre, and Malaga Cathedral. The tour costs €32 per person. Book a slot onto one of those tours here.
  • Segway Tour of Malaga is a fun and unique way to wizz around the city. This is a group tour that includes a knowledgeable guide as well as some initial instruction on how to ride a segway safely if you’ve never been on one before. This will be the easiest way up to the top of the Gibralfaro Castle where you will get some of the best views back over Malaga. The tour costs €45 per person and you can book onto it here .

Wandering the streets of Malaga is a great way to get the know the city, but it’s even better with a knowledgeable guide.

Malaga Hop On Hop Off Bus

One of the most affordable ways to tour Malaga in the shortest time period is on a hop-on, hop-off bus.

If you have never done one of these bus tours around the world before, you purchase a ticket and it is valid for a set period of time.

It allows you to get on and off at as many of the different stops as you want and it goes to all of the main tourist attractions around the city, which means you don’t have to worry about other modes of transportation.

The hop-on, hop-off Malaga bus tour is a double-decker bus with an open top, which means you get to enjoy the beautiful sunshine of the Costa del Sol while sitting back in comfort. The bus also includes an audio guide so that while you are riding around, you can learn about some of the history and interesting facts about the sites you are seeing.

Depending on which ticket you choose, you get free entry to some of the city’s most famous museums like Carmen Thyseen Museum Art Museum and the Interactive Music Museum (MIMMA).

If you opt for the 24-hour Experience ticket , you’ll also get entry to the Picasso Museum, a free boat trip, and the Museo Pompidou to name a few. This ticket costs €35 and the cheaper ticket only costs €25, so if you think you’ll use the museum entry and boat trip, it’s well worth upgrading to the more expensive ticket.

There are several bus routes to take around the city, all of which are included in both types of tickets. See all of the ticket options and book one of the buses here .

Exploring the different historical sites of Malaga.

Malaga Food Tours

There are so many great places to eat in Malaga and this region of Spain has some of the best cuisine (in my humble opinion). There are the espetos (sardines) grilled up to perfection on the beach. There are chilled cups of gazpacho or bowls of arroz meloso filled with seafood.

Like everywhere in Spain, there are tapas bars serving up great options and the best way to sample a lot of different foods and the best restaurants for that food is to take a food tour in Malaga.

Whenever I visit a new city for the first time, I always make sure to take a food tour. Not only do you get to learn about the food, but you also get a knowledgeable guide who is usually local to the city. You can ask them where they like to eat and what local dishes are their favorites that you should look out for on menus around the city.

  • This Tapas Crawl takes you on a three-hour food journey around Malaga. The tour promises to take you to the city’s most emblematic tapas bars where you’ll sample traditional Andalucian tapas. It includes 10-12 samples and as well as 3-4 drinks at some of the different stops to help wash it down. What’s a selection of tapas without a good wine or cold beer? It finished with a dessert and includes a local guide who is passionate about the local cuisine in Malaga. The Malaga tour is €69 per person. Book that tour here .
  • This Tapas Tour includes a visit to the Atarazanas Market where you’ll sample local ingredients as well as different tapas with those traditional and locally-sourced ingredients. You’ll get the chance to try seven different dishes and four drinks at four different tapas institutions around Malaga. The tour costs €69 per person. Book that tour here .
  • Go on this Food Sample Walking Tour to combine a walking tour with a food tour. You’ll stop into local markets and small local tapas spots as well as visit some of the city’s top sites like the Alcazaba, theatre, and cathedral. The tour starts with churros and chocolate before taking you to a Manchego cheese and Iberian ham tasting. You’ll also sample local, seasonal fruit and finish with a typical local ice cream. This tour costs €50 per person. Book that tour here .

Be sure to try some espetos on the beach in Malaga!

Pub Crawls in Malaga

Malaga is something of a party destination in Spain. People from around Europe come here for bachelor and bachelorette parties, including Spanish people from other parts of the country.

You can, of course, completely avoid the partying and enjoy the culture, cuisine, and history of Malaga without ever seeing much of the partying going on. However, if you are visiting with a group of friends or you simply want to have a fun night out while you’re here, join one of these fun Malaga pub crawls.

South Tours Pub Crawl is one of the most affordable and biggest options in Malaga. If you want to join a Malaga pub crawl that is full of fun travelers from around the world, this is probably your best option.

At only €15, this pub crawl includes five drinks, two bars, two clubs, VIP entrance to the clubs, and a guide to get you around to the coolest spots in town. The fact that it includes five drinks makes this one of the best value-for-money options out there. Book onto the pub crawl here .

There are so many different vineyards to visit if you have a rental car and want to get out and explore nearby Ronda.

Wine Tasting Malaga Tours

If you want to combine local wine tasting with some delicious tapas, you’ll find plenty of great wine-tasting tours in Malaga.

If you have a rental car and a designated driver, ditch the tour guide and head directly to one of these nearby wineries for tours and tastings .

Andalusia is home to so many different vineyards, especially from nearby Ronda, but there are so many different areas in this huge autonomous region of Spain that you have a lot of options when it comes to wine tasting in Malaga.

  • Three-Hour Wine Tour with Flamenco Show. This Malaga tour is an absolute experience that you won’t regret having. On this tour, you will visit the oldest wine cellar in Malaga, you will visit two restaurants where you will sample 5-6 different tapas dishes, and you will finish the night with a flamenco show. The show includes a drink to enjoy while you watch the dancers. This tour costs €87 per person. Book this tour here.
  • Market and Winery Tour . This is a fun tour in Malaga that takes you to Atarazanas where you will learn to tell the difference between Serrano and Iberian ham. You will then try a few different tapas as you explore more of the market. You will then go to a tavern that is run by the oldest winery in Malaga. You will sample a traditional Andalucian wine, a wine at the restaurant, and 10 different snacks along the way. This tour costs €55 per person. Book this tour here .
  • Wine Guided Tour . This tour will take you to several different bars and taverns around Malaga where you will be able to sample five different local wines as well as up to eight different tapas. Your local guide will explain all of the different types of wines and where in the region they come from. This tour costs €79 per person. Book onto it here .

  • Underestimating the Heat: Malaga’s location on the Costa del Sol means it experiences hot summers. During my first visit, I didn’t prepare adequately for the scorching temperatures. Make sure to bring sunscreen, a hat, and light clothing to stay comfortable and protected from the sun.
  • Skipping the Local Cuisine: On my initial trip, I stuck to familiar international food options and missed out on the delicious local cuisine. Malaga is a food lover’s paradise, and I regret not indulging in traditional dishes like espetos de sardinas and gazpacho from the beginning. Don’t make the same mistake – dive into the local gastronomy and savor the flavors of Malaga.
  • Overpacking for the Beach: Malaga’s stunning beaches tempted me to bring all sorts of beach gear on my first visit. However, I soon realized that many beachfront establishments offer sunbed and umbrella rentals, making it unnecessary to carry bulky items. Traveling light is key, so pack only the essentials and take advantage of the convenient beach services available.

Tips for Visiting Malaga for One Day:

  • Wear comfortable shoes: Malaga is a walkable city, so be sure to wear comfortable footwear as you’ll be exploring its streets and attractions on foot.
  • Stay hydrated: The weather in Malaga can get hot, especially during the summer months. Carry a bottle of water with you to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Plan your visits to attractions: To make the most of your limited time, check the opening hours of the attractions you plan to visit and prioritize the ones that interest you the most.
  • Embrace the local culture: Take the time to interact with the locals, try speaking a few basic Spanish phrases, and immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture.
  • Take breaks and relax: While it’s tempting to see and do everything in one day, don’t forget to take breaks and relax. Enjoy a leisurely meal, sip a coffee in a local café, or simply sit in a park and people-watch to soak up the atmosphere.
  • Use public transportation: Malaga has a reliable and efficient public transportation system, including buses and trains. Consider using public transport to get around the city quickly and conveniently.

Detailed description

Get to know the city on the boat tour in malaga.

The coastal city of Malaga is one of the oldest cities in Spain. As a commercial metropolis, it has always profited from brisk maritime trade. Numerous merchant ships anchored in its harbor as early as the time of the Phoenicians. Even today, the Andalusian port city is an important transportation hub for trade. In addition, the number of cruise ships docking in the Puerto de Málaga is growing steadily. So a good first impression of the city by the sea is gained in the port. Opened in 2012, the pier forms an elegant link between the city and the boat docks. Get to know Malaga from the sea and take a look down into the deep blue water during the boat trip, because with a lot of luck you will also be accompanied by dolphins on the way!

If you want to get an overview of the second largest city in Andalusia, it is best to take a boat trip off the coast of Malaga. Several ships depart daily for a coastal cruise off Malaga. You leave the harbor with its white lighthouse behind you and set off for the open sea. This eco tour takes you through the bay of Malaga and offers a different view from the sea than conventional city tours.

Valid on the reserved day or for 12 months after date of purchase if no date has been selected. You will receive the tour operator's details with the purchased ticket. Founded over two millennia ago, Málaga is one of the oldest Mediterranean seaports and a beautiful destination along the Costa del Sol. The landmarks reflect the city's multifaceted heritage and offer a wealth of things to do for visitors. Layers of history can be seen at every turn: ruins of a Roman theater, a medieval Moorish castle built on the remains of a Phoenician lighthouse, the 13th-century Alcazaba, and a glorious Baroque cathedral.

Besides cultural attractions, Málaga offers stunning scenery, balmy weather, and beautiful beaches . Leafy palm trees line the seaside promenades, and tropical vegetation flourishes throughout the city.

Málaga's old-world ambience is enchanting if you take the time to see the sights. Wander the historic center to discover pleasant squares and narrow cobblestone streets that brim with little boutiques, outdoor cafés, and tapas restaurants. Alcazaba de Málaga

Stronghold of the historic Kingdom of Granada, this ancient Moorish castle was built in the 11th century on the ruins of a Roman bastion and renovated in the 13th century. The town's Muslim rulers governed from this citadel for several hundred years.

Advantageously perched on the Monte de Gibralfaro, the fortified palace was designed with three circuits of defense walls and originally had 110 main towers plus other smaller towers. Visitors can see some of the remaining towers including the Torre de la Vela (tower), the Arco de Cristo (entrance), and the impressive Torre del Homenaje (tower).

The Alcazaba de Málaga is an Islamic architectural gem of the Nasrid period, featuring intricate decorative details and beautiful grounds. There are delightful terraced garden courtyards with refreshing fountains and decorative pools. Some of the outdoor vantage points offer sea views.

Note that the entrance to the Alcazaba de Malaga is located at the bottom of the palace. To reach the top (and all the interesting things), be prepared for an uphill trek on cobblestones for part of the way and stairs for the remainder.

The Alcazaba de Málaga is open every day year-round. Admission and guided tours are free on Sundays.

Address: 2 Calle Alcazabilla, Málaga

Catedral de Málaga

From the Plaza de la Marina, the Calle Molina Lario leads into the Old Town , which is dominated by the Catedral de Málaga (Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación de Málaga). Dating to the 15th century, the Cathedral of Málaga `replaced the city's Great Mosque and is considered a jewel of the Spanish Renaissance. The architecture also incorporates Baroque elements that were added in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Visitors are dazzled by the finely proportioned interior and sense of spaciousness. The cathedral's Capilla del Rosario (the third chapel in the south aisle) is adorned with a painting of the Virgin with Saints by Alonso Cano.

In the Capilla de los Reyes (the first choir chapel on the right) and on the left-hand wall are kneeling figures of the Catholic Monarchs by Pedro de Mena. This chapel also contains the statuette of the Virgin, which Ferdinand and Isabella carried with them on their military campaigns.

Catedral de Málaga

The modern altar in the Capilla Mayor features Passion scenes of 1580. The Choir is especially noteworthy, with its exquisitely carved 17th-century stalls. The 40 carved wooden statues of saints were the work of Pedro de Mena and José Micael Alfaro.

The cathedral's exterior was never completed due to a lack of funds. Although the monument was originally designed as a twin-towered structure, only the 86-meter-high Torre Norte (North Tower) was finished. For this reason, locals call the cathedral "La Manquita," which translates to "The One-Armed Woman."

To admire fabulous panoramas of Málaga and its harbor, take a guided tour of the cathedral's 50-meter-high rooftop, which has been outfitted with pathways, safety rails, and a viewing platform. This tour is recommended only for those in good shape, as visitors must climb the North Tower's spiral staircase of 200 steps to access the rooftop.

Address: 9 Calle Molina Lario, Málaga

Street in Old Town Leading to the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista

Surrounding the cathedral is the Old Town , a labyrinth of medieval-era pedestrian lanes and peaceful squares. Many of the atmospheric streets are lined with quaint boutiques, cafés, and atmospheric tapas restaurants.

At the heart of the Old Town, the Plaza de la Constitución is a hub of activity. This is a good place to begin exploring Málaga's historic center.

Old Town

Near the Plaza de la Constitución is the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista , which was founded by the Catholic Monarchs after the Reconquest of the city in the 15th century. The church blends Gothic and Mudéjar architectural elements, while the interior features 18th-century Baroque decor.

Castillo de Gibralfaro

Standing proudly on the Mount Gibralfaro summit above the Alcazaba, the Castillo de Gibralfaro is another medieval Moorish fortress. The castle was built in the 10th century on the site of a Phoenician lighthouse. The name is derived from the word "gebel-faro" (Arabic and Greek words that mean "rock of the lighthouse").

The Sultan of Granada, Yusef the First, enlarged the fortress in the early 14th century, yet the Castillo de Gibralfaro is most famous for its three-month siege by the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile. After the Christian Reconquest, King Ferdinand made the Castillo de Gibralfaro the emblem on Málaga's flag, as well as the flag of the province.

Although much of the fortress has been destroyed, the site provides a fascinating historical perspective. The Interpretation Centre displays educational exhibits.

The most visible remains of the fortress are the immense old ramparts, which rise above the woodlands. Inside these defensive walls are the relics of buildings and courtyards typical of Islamic architecture.

Take a scenic walk around the well-restored ramparts to discover the grounds and enjoy magnificent views of the Málaga harbor. The sweeping coastal panoramas are breathtaking, as are the views down to the bullring and the Centre Pompidou Málaga.

For those with the energy to burn, a walking trail leads up to the Castillo. This ascent is not for the faint of heart, and although it's paved the entire way, it's steep and very difficult. An easier option is to take the city bus (#35) to the top and walk down.

Also high on Mount Gibralfaro near the Castillo and the Alcazaba is a superb hotel, the Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro . Set amid a forest of pine trees, this luxury accommodation features Moorish-style architecture, comfortable rooms, and a roof terrace with a swimming pool. The four-star hotel's stylish restaurant serves traditional Andalusian cuisine.

Address: Camino de Gibralfaro, Málaga

Teatro Romano

On the west side of the Mount of Gibralfaro is the Teatro Romano , the ruins of an ancient Roman theater dating from the time of emperor Augustus. This spectacular site is located just below the walls of the Alcazaba, and the setting could not be more dramatic. If you've never seen ancient Roman ruins, this is a must-see.

Wander in and take some time to explore this well-restored site. Be sure to descend the stairs and explore the area underneath the plaza. An interesting assortment of excavations can be seen here, all labeled in multiple languages.

Unlike most historical sites in Spain, admission to the Teatro Romano is free. The gate is located near the paid entry point of the Alcazaba.

Museo Picasso Málaga

A must-see attraction for lovers of modern art, this museum in the Old Town displays an extensive collection of Málaga's famous native son. Picasso's childhood home (the house at 15 Plaza de la Merced) is now the Picasso Birthplace Museum (Museo Casa Natal de Picasso).

The collection of the Museo Picasso Málaga represents the entire span of Picasso's life and art career, from his earliest studies to his revolutionary artistic innovations. The wide range of artworks (created between 1892 and 1972) reflects the many styles and techniques that Picasso mastered.

Examples of Picasso's creativity, versatility, and talent are seen in his reworking of paintings by the European masters, as well as the variety of art movements that he introduced, such as Cubism. The collection highlights themes such as the portrait, still life paintings, landscapes, and nudes.

Highlights of the collection include the Mother and Child (1921), the Acrobat (1930), Woman with Raised Arms (1936), Still Life with Skull and Three Sea Urchins (1947), Jacqueline Seated (1954), the Bather (1971), and Musketeer with a Sword (1972).

The museum has a bookshop specializing in books about Picasso and a casual café set in a garden courtyard amid geraniums and orange trees. The café serves breakfast pastries, lunch, coffee, tea, and refreshments inside or on the shaded outdoor terrace.

This is one of Málaga's most popular attractions. In order to avoid disappointment and delay, book your tickets in advance online and select your entry time.

Address: Palacio de Buenavista, 8 Calle San Agustín, Málaga

Puerto de Málaga

A fine result of a massive investment in waterfront redevelopment is the Puerto de Málaga. This delightful area, the arrivals area for cruise ships, is full of wide walkways, restaurants, shops, and restored historical buildings.

A couple of must-sees include the Centre Pompidou Málaga and the historic La Farola lighthouse originally dating from 1816 but renovated over the years to the current structure and location dating from 1939.

The port area is also a popular location for dinner or lunch at one of the many waterside restaurants. You'll find the tourist information office at the western end.

Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga

At the center of the Old Town, the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga occupies the elegant Palacio de Villalón , which was built on top of the ruins of a 1st-century AD Roman villa. This aristocratic mansion, built in the late 15th- to early 16th century, reveals elaborate Andalusian architectural details of the Renaissance era: ornate coffered ceilings and a two-story central courtyard with marble-columned arcades.

The permanent collection of the museum is renowned for its assortment of 19th- and 20th-century Spanish paintings and has a special focus on artworks of the Andalusia region. The permanent collection also presents paintings by European Old Masters from the 13th century to the 18th century.

Highlights of the collection include Santa Marina by Francisco de Zurbarán, Rocas de Jávea y el Bote Blanco ( Rocks at Jávea and the White Boat ) by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, the portrait of Julia by Ramón Casas Carbó, Vista del Guadalquivir ( View of the Guadalquivir River ) by Manuel Barrón y Carrillo, La Capilla de los Benavente en Medina de Rioseco by Genaro Pérez Villaamil, and Mujeres en el Jardín ( Ladies in the Garden ) by Cecilio Pla y Gallardo.

Visitor services at the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga include a cloakroom, cafeteria, an outdoor terrace, and guided tours. The guided tours are approximately one-hour long. Guided small-group tours on various themes are available upon request.

Address: 10 Calle Compañía, Málaga

Playa de la Malagueta

Málaga has a delightful assortment of beaches within its city limits. The most popular, and the closest to the historic center of town, is the Playa de la Malagueta. This beautiful urban beach features an expansive sand and pebble shoreline and a promenade lined with swaying palm trees.

Amenities at Malagueta Beach include snack bars, beachfront restaurants, showers, a children's playground, and rentals of sun beds and umbrellas, as well as water sports equipment. Next to the beach is the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga yacht club.

Malaga

Thanks to its safe and clean waters, the Playa de la Malagueta has been awarded a Blue Flag designation, so it's a great place to visit for swimming, water sports, and sailing.

Sculpture outside the Automobile and Fashion Museum (Museo Automovilistico & de la Moda) in Malaga

A museum that showcases classic cars and haute couture fashion together may seem like an odd combination. However, at the Museo Automovilistico & de la Moda , it works. Over 100 vehicles are on display here along with over 300 articles of high fashion.

Fashion and style cues are explained in fascinating detail across 10 different themes on guided tours. Famous and exclusive brands and cars are on display ranging from Chanel, Dior, and Hermes along with Rolls Royce, Jaguar, and Mercedes Benz.

The museum is located a short walk from the port area.

Stained-glass window of the Mercado de Atarazanas (Market Hall)

From the Alameda, side streets lead north to the Mercado de Atarazanas. Just the entrance is worth seeing in itself. This horseshoe-shaped Islamic gateway dates to the 14th century and is the only remaining part of the old Moorish shipyard. But even more eye-catching is the fantastic stained-glass window showing historical images of the city.

The market hall itself was constructed in the 19th century. In the 1970s, the building was completely renovated after having been closed for many years.

At this spacious market building, visitors discover a bustling scene of vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and cheese. The morning, when the locally caught fish arrives, is the liveliest time to experience the market.

Mercado de Atarazanas (Market Hall)

It's also fun to visit the market's tapas bars later in the day for a taste of pescaíto (fried fish) and other specialties. The most striking feature of the interior is the stained-glass window that depicts the historic landmarks of Málaga.

Another area for shopping and snacking a few blocks away is the Calle Marqués de Larios , a street lined with many clothing shops, jewelry boutiques, shoe stores, confectionery shops, and cafés.

Address: Mercado de Atarazanas, Calle Atarazanas, Málaga

Museo de Málaga

The Museo de Málaga contains two museums: the Museum of Fine Arts and the Provincial Archaeology Museum. An 18th-century neoclassical mansion, the Palacio de la Aduana de Málaga houses both museum collections.

The Museum of Fine Arts has an excellent permanent collection of local 19th-century paintings, as well as renowned pieces by Spanish artists Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Luis de Morales, Francisco de Goya, Diego Velázquez, Francisco de Zurbarán, Alonso Cano, Ramón Casas, Muñoz Degrain, Enrique Jaraba, and Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, among others. The museum also displays two of Picasso's earliest works: the Study of Old People painting and The Old Man with the Blanket.

The Provincial Archaeology Museum exhibits Roman antiquities, a collection of Hispano-Arab pottery, and models of the castle.

Jardín Botánico-Histórico La Concepción

La Concepción Historical-Botanical Garden was created in the mid-19th century by the Marquis and Marchioness of Loring. These exquisite grounds are filled with vibrant Mediterranean, tropical, and subtropical flora. Plant species found in the gardens come from all over the world.

At its center is the Jardín Histórico-Artístico (Historical-Artistic Garden), over three hectares of Romantic-style landscaping filled with unusual species, tropical plants, and exotic flowers. This distinctive garden also features fountains, waterfalls, and neoclassical elements.

Surrounding the Historical-Artistic Garden is the Jardín Botánico (Botanical Garden), which encompasses 23 hectares of diverse landscapes. This luxuriant garden has been designed with special thematic sections, such as aquatic plants, primitive plants, orchids, and cactuses. Other highlights include the "Around the World in 80 Trees" path and the "Scenic Stop" route.

Nestled in a delightful spot of La Concepción Garden is a cafeteria with outdoor seating. The cafeteria serves soups, salads, sandwiches, quiches, and cakes. There is also a gift shop where you can pick up souvenirs.

Address: Camino del Jardín Botánico, Málaga

Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Victoria

The Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Victoria is a 10- to 15-minute walk away from the Picasso Birthplace Museum (Museo Casa Natal de Picasso), reached by way of Calle de la Victoria. One of the city's most important churches and a listed Historical Monument, this 17th-century Baroque church stands on the site where the Catholic Monarchs pitched a siege of Málaga during the Reconquest.

The church contains the Shrine of Our Lady of Victory with a 15th-century figure of the Virgen de la Victoria, the Patron Saint of the city. The figure was a gift of Emperor Maximilian I to King Ferdinand.

Among the paintings and sculptures decorating the sanctuary, highlights are the two sculptures by Pedro de Mena. Another must-see piece is the Altarpiece of San Francisco de Paula by Luis Ortiz de Vargas. The basilica houses some of its art treasures within an exhibition hall.

Address: Plaza Santuario, Málaga

Centre Pompidou Málaga

Málaga boasts the first branch of the Centre Pompidou to be located outside France. The Centre Pompidou is one of the top museums in Paris , renowned for its modern and contemporary art collection.

The Centre Pompidou Málaga displays an assortment (around 80 paintings and photographs) of the prestigious Paris collection. Highlights include works by Picasso, Max Ernst, and Frida Kahlo. The center also presents temporary exhibits every few months.

Pop in here for a quick look around and then grab lunch at one of the many waterside restaurants that line Paseo del Muelle Uno. You'll have your choice of cuisines, from Indian right through to Mexican and Greek, sometimes at the same restaurant!

What to Expect on a Day Tour from Malaga to Gibraltar with VisitandDo.com

Ape's Den in Upper Rock Nature Reserve, Gibraltar

Ape's Den in Upper Rock Nature Reserve, Gibraltar

The Gibraltar day tour that I went on is organised by VisitandDo.com, a reputable tour operator that runs various tours in the Malaga area.

What I love about their tour is that they have numerous pick-up points along Costa del Sol - so Malaga is not the only starting point which is super convenient. On this visit, I was based in Benalmadena so it was a no-brainer for me to select the nearest pick-up point in Benalmadena for my trip.

So if you’re looking for a Benalmadena to Gibraltar tour, this is a great option. Same goes if you’re based along Costa del Sol - just see the tour information page here and check if there’s a pick-up/drop-off point near you.

The drive from Malaga to Gibraltar typically takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and the specific starting point. The tour utilised a comfortable, air-conditioned coach, ensuring a pleasant journey. There was also a tour guide onboard who took care of us.

The route to Gibraltar wound through the various towns along the Mediterranean coast, with one toilet stop before we arrived at the Gibraltar border.

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory, so entering from Spain involves a border crossing. It's usually straightforward, but can vary in terms of waiting time, particularly during peak travel seasons.

To ensure a smooth crossing:

  • Non-EU nationals must check if you need a visa to enter Gibraltar. (There was a group on my tour that were unable to enter as they needed a visa so this is an essential thing to do!)
  • You'll need your passport or national ID card (for EU citizens) to enter Gibraltar.
  • Be prepared for Customs checks. While these are generally quick, be ready to show your passport and answer any questions about your visit.

Once you’ve crossed into Gibraltar, the adventure really begins. The territory, while small, is densely packed with attractions, shops, and cafes. Your tour guide will inform you about the day's schedule, including meeting points and times for group activities or free exploration.

If you don’t opt for any activities, you’ll typically have about 5 hours to explore Gibraltar on your own. There are also local tour operators on the ground or you can hire a taxi to take you around. If you’re added on a tour (more on that below!) or a dolphin-watching excursion, you should have about 2 hours of free time.

A popular option when visiting Gibraltar is to do the Rock Tour. You’ll spend 1.5 hours with a local guide who’ll take the group around the territory on a mini-bus, visiting a few key attractions. It’s a fun and easy way to discover the best of Gibraltar in a short amount of time.

Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll likely do a fair amount of walking. It’s also a good idea to bring water with you to stay hydrated (especially during the summer!). Be sure to pay attention to your guide’s instructions, especially regarding meeting times and places.

Gibraltar uses the Sterling Pound, not the Euro. Most places accept credit and debit cards, so it’s not necessary to exchange your Euros. But if you need to, it’s easy to find exchanges on Main Street in Gibraltar.

In total, day tours from Malaga to Gibraltar are a full-day excursion, taking 8 to 10 hours, depending on your pick-up and drop-off points. So it is a long day with an early start, but you can relax on the bus journeys.

My Malaga to Gibraltar Tour Experience with VisitandDo.com

Gibraltar Bay

Gibraltar Bay

A day tour from Malaga to Gibraltar has an early start, with pick-ups beginning at 7.00am in Malaga, with staggered timings across the towns in Costa del Sol. As I was based in Benalmadena, I had a 7.55am start time at the pick-up point closest to me.

I arrived at the pick-up point about 10 minutes beforehand and there were already other travellers waiting there. Do note that many tour operators use the same pick-up points, so don’t get on the wrong bus! Be sure to check with the tour guide before you hop on any bus.

Right on schedule, the bus by VisitandDo arrived and we got into a line to check off our names with the tour guide before getting on. We each also received a free tote bag to hold any shopping we might do in Gibraltar.

Once everyone was aboard, the bus went on to pick-up other tour participants along the way. There are a fair number of stops, but each pick-up was pretty quick and efficiently handled. I enjoyed the opportunity to just relax on the bus and enjoy the scenery.

When all the guests were on board and we were less than an hour away from arriving in Gibraltar, Susanna, our tour guide, introduced herself and the driver and gave a quick rundown of the day’s schedule.

She also shared historical information about Gibraltar, setting the scene for our arrival and time in the British territory.

For those who had only purchased the “Visit Only” option, there was a last-minute opportunity to sign up for either the Rock Tour or the dolphin-watching excursion as there were still vacancies on the activities. From my pick-up in Benalmadena to arrival at the Gibraltar border, the journey took about 2.5 hours.

Soon enough, we arrived at the border crossing and Susanna provided clear instructions about what to do and where everyone would regroup after going through immigration. Susanna would stay at the back of the group, just in case anyone had any issues getting through.

If you’re an EU national, you can zoom through the crossing using the automated gates. For the rest of us, there’s a separate line that moves pretty quickly. And as you cross into Gibraltar, there’s another UK officer who’ll look at your passport/ID.

It was all pretty quick and efficient, but during peak periods, this process can take longer.

As instructed, the group waited in an area just after the crossing and once Susana came through, she led us back to the bus where our Gibraltar adventure would begin. During the short journey from the immigration to the Main Street area, Susana gave us the key timings that everyone had to mind; most importantly, that the bus would depart from Gibraltar at 4.00pm sharp.

As I had already signed up for the Rock Tour, my time in Gibraltar would begin with the tour which is about 1.5 hours long and then I’d be able to enjoy some free time before we had to return to Costa del Sol.

For those who were going dolphin watching, they had about an hour of free time before having to reconvene for the excursion. Then afterwards, they’d also have some free time before getting back on the bus.

Some tour participants had not signed up for any of the activities and so, their time in Gibraltar was fully in their hands. Susanna provided some general information about what to do and advice on how to spend the day. But, if you decide on this option, I think it’s best to do your own research beforehand and create your own plan to avoid the stress of just winging it.

I really appreciated having the different options available as each traveller can pick the type of tour that most suits them. For me, I opted for the Rock tour as it covers many of Gibraltar’s highlights without me having to plan anything. It was nice to just sit back and enjoy the day, instead of worrying about logistics!

In total, we had about 5 hours to spend in Gibraltar.

The 1.5 Hour Rock Tour in Gibraltar

After arriving in the coach parking lot in Gibraltar and having a toilet break, the small group of us that were doing the Rock Tour were gathered together and Susana handed us off to our local guide, Louie, and the mini-bus that would take us around the territory.

Born and bred in Gibraltar, Louie was fun and personable which made the tour feel like it was with a friend rather than a tour guide. He shared information about Gibraltar’s history and architecture and also some unique insights of Gibraltar as a military base as he used to serve in the military himself.

As we travelled through the narrow streets of Gibraltar, Louie would point out historical buildings and share interesting facts.

Europa Point, Gibraltar

Europa Point, Gibraltar

The first stop on our Rock Tour was Europa Point , one of Gibraltar's most breathtaking and historically rich experiences.

As the southernmost point of Gibraltar, it provides unparalleled views of the Strait of Gibraltar, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, and on clear days, the coast of Africa is visibly striking, presenting a tangible connection between two continents.

The panoramic vistas from Europa Point are simply unmatched. The area offers several viewing platforms where you can take in the majestic scenery. The meeting of two mighty bodies of water, coupled with the view of Africa’s Rif Mountains, creates a spectacle that is both humbling and awe-inspiring.

Dominating the landscape of Europa Point is the Europa Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse, with its iconic design, has been a symbol of guidance and safety for mariners since its inception in the early 19th century.

Europa Point is also home to a diverse array of religious and cultural monuments, reflecting Gibraltar's multicultural heritage. Notably, the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe, a place of pilgrimage and worship that dates back to the Middle Ages, embodies the spiritual significance of the area.

Additionally, the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque, a gift from King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, stands as a testament to the Islamic heritage of the region. These sites, along with the Hindu Temple and the Roman Catholic chapel, highlight the peaceful coexistence of diverse faiths in Gibraltar.

We only had 15 minutes here; I wished we had more time! There was just enough time to take in the views, snap a few photos, and marvel at the Rock of Gibraltar and the lighthouse. Sadly, it was a cloudy day so the views to Africa were obscured.

After that quick stop in Europa Point, we hopped back into the mini-bus as Louie took us further up the cliff and into the Upper Rock Nature Reserve to our next stop: the magical St Michael’s Cave .

As we got off the mini-bus, Louie handed us each an entry wristband which is actually the entry ticket for the Upper Rock Nature Reserve and all its attractions (this ticket is included in the Rock Tour). So, for anyone interested, you can still visit the other attractions after the tour with that same ticket.

A site of natural beauty, historical mystery, and cultural significance, St. Michael's Cave is a network of limestone caves deep within the Rock of Gibraltar. Its vast chambers and intricate formations draw visitors from around the world, making it a must-see destination on any trip to Gibraltar.

I was very excited to visit it and we had 30 minutes to explore and enjoy.

Archaeological evidence suggests that St. Michael's Cave has been known and used by humans since prehistoric times. It was long believed to be bottomless, giving rise to legends that it was a gateway to the underworld.

During World War II, the cave was prepared as an emergency hospital, although it was never used for this purpose. The network of tunnels and chambers was expanded during this time, adding to the cave's intriguing human history.

Today, the experience at St Michael’s Cave is enhanced with a light show that illuminates the natural beauty of the cave, creating an otherworldly ambiance that captivates visitors.

Multi-coloured lights are carefully positioned to highlight the intricate details of the stalactites, stalagmites, and other geological features. The play of light and shadow, coupled with the natural shapes of the cave, creates vivid images and an almost dreamlike setting that feels like stepping into another world.

The cave itself was just stunning and the light show added a fun dimension to the experience. In the Cathedral Cave, the largest chamber within St. Michael's Cave, there’s a seating area set up so that you can enjoy the light show in comfort.

Outside the cave entrance, along the street where the minibuses were parked, were Gibraltar’s most endearing attraction: its Barbary macaques.

These wild monkeys are not just a delight for visitors but also hold a unique place in Gibraltar's cultural and natural heritage, being the only wild population of monkeys in Europe.

The Barbary macaques have been residents of the Rock for hundreds of years, with many legends surrounding their presence. One popular belief is that as long as the monkeys remain on Gibraltar, the territory will remain under British control.

This legend was taken so seriously that during World War II, the British government took steps to ensure the monkey population was maintained, even amidst the pressures of wartime.

Outside St Michael’s Cave, scores of curious tourists were taking photos and videos of these cute monkeys. Even I wasn’t immune to their charm!

Some people got very close to them, taking selfies next to them and such but remember: while the monkeys are accustomed to human presence, they are wild animals. Despite their generally playful and inquisitive nature, they can become aggressive if they feel threatened or if they're seeking food.

We spotted more Gibraltar monkeys on our next stop, Ape’s Den , which lived up to its name.

But aside from the monkeys, this is a fantastic place to enjoy panoramic views of the town and Gibraltar Bay from the top of the Rock.

After about 15 minutes at Ape’s Den, we were back in the mini-bus and Louie pointed out other key attractions in the area like the Great Siege Tunnels and the Moorish Castle as we headed back to town.

While the Rock Tour is listed at 1.5 hours, our tour actually took almost 2 hours, with us being back in town at about 1.30pm. Time just flew back, and it definitely didn’t feel like 2 hours at all!

If you opt for the Rock Tour on your Malaga to Gibraltar day trip, you may want to spend more time in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve as there is so much to see and do in that area and you already have an entry ticket.

What you can do is to let the tour guide know that you’d like to stay up there and you can just stay on the tour until the last stop at the Upper Rock. After that, you can walk to the attractions in the Upper Rock that you’re interested in visiting.

My suggestions would be visiting the Great Siege Tunnels and the Moorish Castle which are downhill from Ape’s Den.

And you’ll have to walk back down to town as well. If you opt to do this, be sure to factor in walking time back to town and the departure meeting point.

I certainly wished I had more time to explore the Upper Rock Nature Reserve but instead I decided to explore the town itself.

Free Time in Gibraltar

Our Rock Tour ended where it started, the coach parking lot, which is about a 10-minute walk to Main Street.

The first order of business for me: lunch! And when in Gibraltar, what else should one have for lunch but fish and chips? Roy’s is the popular fish and chips place in town but I ended up walking in the opposite direction from it. So instead, I picked a local English pub (recommended by our guide Louie) for lunch.

After fuelling myself, it was time to explore Main Street.

Main Street in Gibraltar is the vibrant artery that runs through the heart of this unique territory. As the central hub for shopping, dining, and leisure, it offers a fascinating blend of British and Mediterranean influences, reflected in the architecture, the retail offerings, and the culinary delights available.

Walking down Main Street is like taking a step into a cosmopolitan blend of history and modernity. The street is lined with buildings that showcase Gibraltar’s rich past, from colonial-era facades to traditional Genoese and Spanish homes.

It was really interesting to observe the variety of building styles which is one of a kind.

The dining scene on Main Street is equally eclectic, offering a taste of local Gibraltarian cuisine alongside international dishes. From quaint cafes serving traditional English tea and scones to lively tapas bars echoing the flavours of Spain, there’s something to satisfy every palate.

Main Street is also a shopping paradise where you can find everything from luxury brands to locally crafted souvenirs, all duty-free, making it a haven for bargain hunters and fashionistas alike.

I managed to walk the entire length of Main Street, from Prince Edward’s Gate and the South Bastion all the way to Grand Casemates Square, just taking in the vibe of Gibraltar.

Casemates Square, situated at the northern end of Main Street, is a lovely place for a coffee break or simply to people-watch.

Known as Gibraltar's bustling entrance and one of its most iconic landmarks, this expansive, open-air square is encircled by historic buildings that tell the story of Gibraltar's rich and varied past, making it not just a popular gathering place but also a significant cultural and historical site.

Originally designed as a barracks and later used for executions during the Spanish period, today's Casemates Square has transformed into the vibrant heart of Gibraltar’s social life. The square's name itself is derived from the British-built casemates — bombproof barracks — that line one side of the square, a reminder of Gibraltar's military significance through the ages.

Now, Casemates Square is alive with the energy of cafes, bars, and restaurants that spill out onto the square, offering a diverse array of dining options (including the famous Roy’s!).

By this point, my day in Gibraltar was winding down and it was almost time to head back to the coach parking lot to get on the bus back to Costa del Sol.

This Gibraltar tour merely whetted my appetite to visit again. I found Gibraltar very intriguing and there’s still so much that I wasn’t able to see and do. That’s usually what happens on day trips, right? With limited time, you can’t do everything… but I’m glad that I managed to learn more about the history and culture in Gibraltar and see a handful of its main attractions.

I got back on our bus about 10 minutes before departure time and the bus was already half-full. I suspect that everyone else had also had a full day in Gibraltar and were ready to rest and relax their feet!

Sharply at 4.00pm, with everyone accounted for, we headed to the border crossing to re-enter Spain.

It was a similar process: we had to get off the bus with all our belongings and go through immigration. EU nationals could use the automated gates or were waved through after an immigration officer examined their ID.

For other nationalities, there was a fast-moving line where they would scan and stamp our passports once again.

Then, we were back on the bus where we could comfortably rest on our journey back to Costa del Sol. Just like the morning, the bus stopped at the various pick-up points and it took about 2 hours for me to arrive back in Benalmadena.

Overall, despite it being a long day, I had a great time on this Malaga to Gibraltar tour.

I loved the convenience of it, as I didn’t have to worry about any planning or any logistics at all. The Rock Tour is a good way to see Gibraltar’s highlights when you have limited time and having free time to explore afterwards was relaxed and lovely.

Every aspect of the tour was well-communicated, from the pre-tour communications via email and WhatsApp to how our tour guides on the day communicated to the group. Everything was handled in a smooth and professional manner.

I do wish that we had more time in Gibraltar itself but it already is a long day, so I think that in the end, it’s a nice balance and 5 hours is sufficient time to get to the essence of the territory. And well, it’ll just entice you to return again for a longer visit!

If you’re looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable way to visit Gibraltar on your Costa del Sol holiday, this is definitely one of the best options to do so.

Day Tours from Malaga to Gibraltar: Choosing the Right Tour for You

There are various tour companies and operators that offer day tours from Malaga to Gibraltar so it’s important to select and book the right tour for you. Here are some tips on how to navigate the booking process and what to consider when choosing the Gibraltar tour that best fits your preferences.

Gibraltar's unique appeal makes it a popular destination, so tours can fill up quickly, especially during peak travel seasons.

To secure your spot and avoid disappointment, it's wise to book your tour well in advance. This also gives you a better chance of finding a tour that matches your schedule and preferences.

Choosing a Tour Operator

With numerous companies offering day tours to Gibraltar, deciding on one can be overwhelming. Look for operators with positive reviews and a track record of providing reliable, high-quality experiences.

As you’ve read, I went to Gibraltar with VistandDo.com , a reputable tour operator in the region with 8 years of experience and a reliable 4.7* rating on Google reviews. I had a great experience and have since taken other tours with them so I highly recommend them, if you’re looking for a tour company you can trust.

You can check out their tour offerings in Costa del Sol here.

Understand What's Included in the Tour

Before booking, carefully review what the tour includes. Knowing what's included ahead of time can help you budget for any additional expenses. For instance, some tours might offer an all-inclusive experience, while others may provide more flexibility with free time for lunch or exploration, meaning extra costs for food and entry fees.

What I love about the Malaga to Gibraltar day tour by VisitandDo is that there are several options available which makes it easy to customise the experience based on what you want.

There are pick-up points all along Costa del Sol, so it’s convenient no matter if you’re staying in Malaga or further down the coast in Fuengirola or Estepona. You can also choose a free-and-easy day in Gibraltar to explore on your own, do a tour of Gibraltar, or go dolphin-watching!

While it's tempting to choose the cheapest option, it's important to weigh the cost against what's included. A slightly more expensive tour might offer greater value with more attractions covered and a knowledgeable guide, making it a better overall deal. That’s why I suggest going with the Rock Tour option as you’ll get to see Gibraltar’s main highlights in a 1.5 hour tour.

Lastly, ensure the tour is offered in a language you're comfortable with. While most tours from Malaga to Gibraltar are conducted in English and Spanish, it's always best to confirm beforehand.

Final Confirmation and Details

Once you've chosen a tour, make sure you receive a confirmation email or document with all the details, including the departure time, meeting point, what to bring, and contact information for the tour operator. This is also a good time to ask any last-minute questions you may have.

On my tour by VisitandDo.com, I received an email confirmation immediately after booking. I appreciated getting an email reminder the day before my day trip with all the necessary information. They also sent me a message via WhatsApp with the information, which was handy to refer to on my phone.

By considering these factors, you'll be well on your way to booking the perfect day tour from Malaga to Gibraltar that meets your expectations and provides a memorable experience. Remember, the right tour not only offers convenience and value but also enriches your travel experience with insights and access to Gibraltar's must-see attractions.

So, there you have it – your essential guide to day tours from Malaga to Gibraltar. I hope this has inspired you to plan your own visit to Gibraltar - it’s a super easy day trip, especially when you go on a tour.

Gibraltar certainly surprised me. It’s a little slice of Britain under the Spanish sun, with more charm and history than you might expect from such a small place. From the moment you see the Rock to your last stroll down Main Street, Gibraltar packs a punch. I definitely want to visit again to discover more of its secrets.

So, grab your passport, lace up your walking shoes, and set off with an open heart. Say hello to the monkeys for me, but remember to keep your snacks to yourself.

Here's to making memories in Gibraltar that will keep you smiling long after you've returned home. Safe travels!

Tampa bay rays at chicago white sox odds, picks and predictions, share this article.

The Tampa Bay Rays (13-13) visit the Chicago White Sox (3-22) Friday for the opener of a 3-game series. First pitch from Guaranteed Rate Field is set for 7:40 p.m. ET (Apple TV+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s  lines around the Rays vs. White Sox odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Rays won 6-1 last season

The Rays snapped a 3-game losing streak and avoided a 3-game sweep by the visiting Detroit Tigers Wednesday with a 7-5 win, covering as slight +101 underdogs. CF Randy Arozarena  and 2B  Curtis Mead  each homered in the win.

The White Sox enter on a 7-game losing streak and have been swept in back-to-back series after falling 6-3 at the Minnesota Twins Thursday, failing to cover as +178 road underdogs. After taking a 2-0 lead into the 6th, Chicago allowed 6 runs in 3 innings, which proved to be fatal. LHP Tanner Banks yielded a run and 3 hits without recording an out to pick up the loss in relief.

Rays at White Sox projected starters

RHP Zach Eflin vs. RHP Chris Flexen

Eflin (1-2, 3.68 ERA) makes his 6th start of 2024. He has a 1.06 WHIP, an MLB-best 0.6 BB/9 and 8.0 K/9 through 29 1/3 innings.

  • Rays are 2-3 in Eflin’s 5 starts, scoring 3 runs or fewer in 4 of the 5 games
  • Allowed 12 ER and 4 HR in his 5 starts, while striking out 26 and walking just 2

Flexen (0-3, 6.41 ERA) makes his 4th start. He has a 1.42 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 5.0 K/9 through 19 2/3 innings.

  • White Sox are 0-5 in Flexen’s starts this season with the righty allowing 3 or more runs in 3 of the 5 games
  • Allowed 14 ER and 4 HR in his 5 appearances, while striking out 11 and walking 7

Rays at White Sox picks and predictions

Rays 6, White Sox 4

There is minimal value on the Rays (-250) to beat the White Sox (+200), who hold the worst record in the MLB.

Run line/Against the spread

BET RAYS -1.5 (- 140 ).

The White Sox are 1-13 in their last 14 games. Excluding the 1st setback of that stretch, a 7-6 defeat in 10 innings, the Sox lost each by 2 or more runs. They have allowed 6 or more runs in each of their last 6 games and have scored 3 or fewer runs in 10 of their last 13.

Meanwhile, each of the Rays’ last 2 wins have come by 2 or more runs. Overall, 9 of their 13 wins have been by 2 or more runs.

BET OVER 7.5 (- 110 ).

The Rays have hit the Over in 3 of their last 4 games and have scored 3 or more runs in 6 of their last 10. They face a Chicago team that has allowed 6 or more runs in each of their last 7. The White Sox have scored 3 or more runs in 4 of their last 6.

NFL draft attendance record within reach in Detroit, Commissioner Roger Goodell tells fans on Day 2

DETROIT (AP) — The NFL draft tour has not had a stop quite like the one in Detroit .

“We watched 32 amazing players join the NFL family in front of a record 275,000 people ,” Commissioner Roger Goodell told fans who flooded downtown Detroit on Friday for a second straight day. “Guess what? Another 230,000 are already here tonight.

“So Detroit, you’re within 100,000 of breaking the all-time record.”

Nashville drew 600,000 fans over the three days of the NFL draft in 2019 to set the mark the Motor City will shoot to surpass on Saturday. Nashville had the previous first- and second-round records, drawing 200,000 fans each day.

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore, assistant coaches and players he has returning from last season’s national championship-winning team were introduced on stage by Goodell, and the crowd sang the school’s fight song before the second round kicked off.

“It’s super special to be here,” Wolverines tight end Colston Loveland said. “Detroit showed out, for sure.

“There’s lot of bodies here.”

Streets, restaurants, bars and hotels were filled for a second straight day as fans of the 32 teams gathered for a party that showed no signs of slowing down.

Larry Kordosky traveled from Arizona to attend his second NFL draft and left no doubt who his favorite team is, wearing red and blue pants with Bills logos and a Buffalo jersey under black shoulder pads.

“You couldn’t ask for a better crowd or host,” Kordosky said, standing in a rare open space in the middle of Campus Martius Park. “I had never been to Detroit. I love it. It’s an amazing city.

“I went to the draft in Las Vegas two years ago, but it was nothing like this. There are fans everywhere, especially Lions fans.”

Lions season-ticket holder Reiner Calderero of Warren, Michigan, and Christopher Guiao of Sterling Heights were in the first row up against a barricade just beyond the covered theater area where the picks were announced.

They were easy to pick out in the crowd.

The men wore the same Honolulu blue and silver masks they put on for home games at nearby Ford Field.

Guiao said the NFL draft experience exceeded his high expectations.

“All day, both days, the whole area has been packed,” he said. “Hopefully, the world sees what we see. Detroit is a beautiful city with warm people.”

In addition to the intangible benefits of showing the city in a good light for visitors and 50-plus million people watching on TVs, phones and tablets, the economic impact was expected to exceed $160 million and that’s when local organizers were expecting 400,000 fans to attend the three-day event.

More than 20 teams have inquired about hosting a future NFL draft and Green Bay will be on the clock after the seventh round concludes Saturday.

The Motor City, which was once one of the nation’s largest and most powerful cities, has bounced back from filing for bankruptcy in 2013 and has made the most of an opportunity to shine.

“A special thank you to everybody here who came from across Michigan and across the United States to help Detroit set new attendance records for the NFL draft,” Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan , joined by Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, said on stage before announcing the Lions had drafted Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the second round.

The NFL draft is giving Detroit a chance to show the world how far it has come, according to Dan Gilbert, whose real-estate company, Bedrock, was among the private and public entities to land the league’s annual event.

“The city, it’s got an energy to it,” Gilbert said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I think that’s one of the reasons we’re able to convince the NFL to do the draft out here. They could feel the energy as we took them on tours here.”

Ice Spice Gets Slizzy in the Music Video For Cash Cobain and Bay Swag’s ‘Fisherrr’ Remix

By Andre Gee

Cash Cobain and Bay Swag ’s “Fisherrr” was already the hottest thing in the New York streets, and the guys getting an Ice Spice verse makes the remix an early song of the summer contender. The Bronx starlet got slizzy on the hypnotic track and filmed a KZA-directed video which was released today.

Ice follows the lead of the original song, answering Cash’s opening line by rhyming, “Got an attitude but I’m feeling lit, so I ain’t mad at you / And I’m tatted too and it’s fatter too, I’m your baddest boo.” She closes her verse with a callback to her breakout “Munch” hit, rhyming, “I ain’t callin’ you “my boo,” nigga, what you thought? I was feelin’ you?”

Billie Eilish Would Like to Reintroduce Herself

Kristi noem describes executing puppy she 'hated' in new book, kanye west announces 'yeezy porn' amid reports of adult film company, billie eilish, lorde, green day among artists to sign letter in support of ticketing reform act.

“It’s a beautiful record. It feels amazing,” Cash says of the remix. “It feels like NYC is back stronger than ever with me and Spice — two Bronx legends. Get ready for the song of the summer.” Back in 2022, we chronicled how certain communities within the drill music scene were shifting away from brutal block-spinning lyrics into a smoother, less volatile sound.

The piece was centered on Cash Cobain and Chow Lee’s “sexy drill” and Ice Spice’s “Munch.” Their collision was inevitable, and it seemingly happened on the perfect record. While “Fisherrr” isn’t exactly family-friendly, it’s fun, and feel-good, which is the perfect recipe to be played all over the city this summer.
