Producers Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio have announced that A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical will play its final performance at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Sunday, June 30 before embarking on an electrifying North American tour launching this fall in Providence, Rhode Island. On that date, A Beautiful Noise will have played 35 preview performances and 657 regular performances on Broadway .

As of Monday, February 19, A Beautiful Noise has grossed almost $63,000,000 and been seen by almost half a million people representing all 50 states, a leader in the post-COVID theatrical landscape. Additionally, the show was the first production after the pandemic to have its world premiere at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre, revitalizing the return to the out-of-town tryout, an economic engine for many cities in the country and a much- needed creative step for shows in development.

A Beautiful Noise began Broadway previews on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 and opened on Sunday, December 4 making international headlines as Diamond himself stood in his box seat and led the entire audience in a rousing rendition of “Sweet Caroline,” the last time he has publicly performed that iconic song.

Prior to Broadway, the musical had its world premiere engagement at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre where it played Wednesday, June 21, 2022 through Sunday, July 30, 2023.

A Beautiful Noise stars “American Idol” winner Nick Fradiani as ‘Neil Diamond – Then,’ Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominee Mark Jacoby as ‘Neil Diamond – Now,’ Amber Ardolino as ‘Marcia Murphey,’ and Shirine Babb as ‘Doctor.’ They are joined by Becky Gulsvig as ‘Jaye Posner;’ Michael McCormick as ‘Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke;’ Tom Alan Robbins as ‘Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond’; and Bri Sudia as ‘Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.’

The ensemble, swings, and standbys include Neal Benari (standby for ‘Neil Diamond – Now’), Dianna Marie Barger (ensemble), Mateus Leite Cardoso (swing), Gabrielle Djenné (swing), Jordan Dobson (swing), Ninako Donville (swing), Paige Faure (standby for ‘Ellie Greenwich/Jaye Posner/Marcia Murphey/Rose Diamond’), Kalonjee Gallimore (ensemble), Anthony J. The musical includes a score of Diamond’s most beloved songs, direction by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer ( Spring Awakening, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, American Idiot ), and choreography by Olivier Award winner and four-time Tony Award nominee Steven Hoggett ( Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Once, Black Watch ).

The design team for A Beautiful Noise features Tony Award winner David Rockwell (scenic design), Tony Award nominee Emilio Sosa (costume design), four-time Tony Award winner Kevin Adams (lighting design), Tony Award winner Jessica Paz (sound design), and Luc Verschueren (hair and wig design). The production has music supervision and arrangements by Sonny Paladino, incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer, vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo, and orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer. The team also includes Julie DeVore (production stage manager), Jamie Harrison (illusion consultant), Kathy Fabian (properties designer), Jim Carnahan, CSA (casting), and Amy Jacobs of Bespoke Theatricals (general manager).

With his first break into songwriting in the 1960s and his meteoric rise in the 1970s, and plenty of crushing disappointments and heart-stopping triumphs along the way, Neil Diamond has maintained an almost unthinkable level of superstardom for five straight decades . A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical to Launch North American Tour

A multi-year North American tour of A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical is set to begin in 2024. 

The tour will launch from Rhode Island’s Providence Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2024. A full list of cities and dates will be announced, along with casting.

The bio-musical, which tells the story of Grammy-winning artist Neil Diamond, opened on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre on December 4, 2022. It features a book by Anthony McCarten and a score consisting of songs from Diamond’s catalog.

“Some of my most thrilling nights have been while I was on tour, bringing my music to audiences across the world,” Diamond said in a statement. “Having A Beautiful Noise go on tour is an honor, and I can’t wait for audiences across North America to experience this show. I hope they enjoy it as much as I have.”

‘A Beautiful Noise’ to launch a national tour in the fall of 2024

The providence performing arts center will be the first stop for the neil diamond bio-musical.

“A Beautiful Noise, the Neil Diamond Musical,” which premiered last summer at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston before heading to Broadway, is going on tour in the fall of 2024.

The jukebox musical’s “multi-year North American tour” will begin at the Providence Performing Arts Center before traveling to more than two dozen cities in its first year, according to a statement released Tuesday by producers Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio.

Casting and the full tour route will be announced at a later date, according to the statement.

In the Boston premiere, Will Swenson delivered a sizzling performance as the younger Diamond, from struggling songwriter to arena-filling superstar, and Mark Jacoby portrayed present-day Diamond, wrestling with his inner demons in a therapy session.

Swenson and Jacoby are also playing those roles in the current production at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, which marked its 100th performance earlier this month.

Papa Roach Announces 2022 ‘Kill The Noise Tour’ With Hollywood Undead, More

Papa Roach  has announced the first leg of its 2022  Kill The Noise Tour , which will see the alternative hard-rock group circle the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with special guests Hollywood Undead  and  Bad Wolves .

Frontman and co-founder  Jacoby Shaddix , alongside members Jerry Horton (guitar/vocals),  Tobin Esperance  (bass), and  Tony Palermo (drums), will take the stage at Anaheim, CA’s  House of Blues  for the tour’s first stop on March 1st. The heavy schedule will continue with runs through Phoenix, AZ’s  Arizona Federal Theatre (3/2);  The Great Saltair  in Salt Lake City, UT (3/5);  Fillmore Auditorium  in Denver, CO (3/6);  Alerus Center  in Grand Forks, ND (3/8); and  Ralston Arena  in Omaha, NE (3/9).

Moving through the Midwest, the group will stage performances in Minneapolis, MN (3/11); Gary, IN (3/12); Cincinnati, OH (3/13); Cedar Rapids, IA (3/15); Grand Rapids, MI (3/16); and Detroit, MI (3/17) before heading north to Canada for shows in Toronto, ON (3/19) and Laval, QC (3/20). East Coast dates will ensue, with stops in Montclair, NJ (3/22); Washington, D.C. (3/23); Uncasville, CT (3/24); Greensboro, NC (3/26), Atlanta, GA (3/27); Oklahoma City, OK (3/29); and Corpus Christi, TX (3/30). Papa Roach will conclude the first leg of its 2022  Kill The Noise Tour with a festival appearance at Welcome To Rockville  in Monterrey, Mexico on April 1st–2nd.

“We’re really excited to be back on the road, joining up again with Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves,” said the band in a press release. “Both bands bring deep catalogues and killer live shows. It’ll be a non-stop Rock N Roll thrill ride start to finish.”

Matty Healy Is 'Tuning Out the Noise' After Taylor Swift's 'Tortured Poets Department' Release: Source (Exclusive)

The 1975 frontman remains focused on his band following Swift's double album drop last month

The past stays in the rearview mirror for Matty Healy .

The 1975 frontman is "tuning out the noise" amid renewed interest in his former relationship with Taylor Swift following her latest release, The Tortured Poets Department , a source tells PEOPLE.

Though fans have speculated Healy, 35, is the subject of a number of songs on the pop superstar's new album, Swift, 34, does not explicitly mention him by name.

The British musician remains focused on his band — which wrapped their Still ... at Their Very Best tour in March — as they begin writing for the follow-up to 2022's critically acclaimed Being Funny in a Foreign Language .

Healy has made one comment on Swift's double album publicly — after being approached by paparazzi late last month and asked how he'd "rate" his "Taylor diss track" as compared to others, he questioned, "My diss track? Oh!" then laughed and replied, "I haven't really listened to that much of it, but I'm sure it's good."

While the Grammy winner doesn’t name-check Healy on TTPD , a number of songs on the record seem to reference the star, whom Swift  dated for several months  in the spring of 2023, nearly a decade after they first sparked romance rumors.

Healy's aunt Debbie Dedes previously said she didn't think the musician would be bothered by Swift's songs.

“She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she? I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all,” Dedes told The Daily Mail of her nephew. “He's very happy in his new relationship so I'm sure he will be focusing on that.”

Healy has been dating model and Instagram chef  Gabbriette Bechtel since September 2023.

Swift initially met the "Happiness" singer in 2014 and enjoyed what Healy has called a "flirtation," but didn't publicly strike up a romance until years later. In 2022, Healy confirmed his band worked with her on her 10th studio album  Midnights , though their work was never released. Then, in January 2023, she performed during a guest spot at a 1975 concert in London.

By May, Healy used a break from his own tour to enjoy Swift's Eras concert in Nashville. Throughout the month, the two were spotted out on date nights and working together at Electric Lady Studios.

But by June,  Swift and Healy had broken up . "She had fun with him, but it was always casual," a source told PEOPLE. "They are no longer romantically involved."

"It was a good time and ran its course," another insider told PEOPLE last year.

Ride for Peace: Hundreds of motorbikes making noise against gun violence in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Motorcyclists revved their engines loudly ahead of a tour through Cincinnati on Saturday.

If people heard them, their mission was accomplished.

The Ride for Peace event was meant to draw attention to the gun violence epidemic.

Organizers said it starts with our youth.

The motorbikes were meant to grab the attention of people to open doors to talk about gun violence.

They wanted everyone to look at other ways to solve differences rather than turning to firearms.

The event brought together families, local businesses and community leaders.

It was a collective commitment from hundreds of bikers who rolled through the streets of Cincinnati, complete with a police escort.

They were biking and uniting against gun violence.

Their mission was to make as much noise as possible so people would come out and ask what was going on.

"Anyone that's out there pulling guns and hurting our babies, this is what you're up against. You know? All these people are sick and tired of this senseless gun violence. That's what we're trying to show people, that we're tired," said Mitch Morris, Cincinnati Works' Phoenix Program director.

The ride started in Avondale and went through downtown, OTR, the West Side, Winton Terrace and more.

Morris said they go around town to spread the love.

"We get together on Saturdays and Sundays. As you see, there are a lot of people out here, but this just isn’t going to stop. This effort continues throughout the week. Every day of the week. We have to be there, all hands on deck at this time right now," said Morris.

Tiger was one of the bikers.

She said she hasn't missed a Ride for Peace since it started 13 years ago.

The stops were personal for her.

"You got to humble yourself when you ride through there and you see all the things that's going on, and it does make you want to go out there and make a difference," said Tiger.

Tiger said she loves it when the kids come up to her and ask about her ride.

It's a talking piece.

"The bikes are just something to bring them in and we can talk to them about other things in life about just being aware of firearms and just being good kids and doing the right thing in school," said Tiger.

The kids were sticking with bicycles for now, but organizers said it's all about showing them a positive future.

"If they see something, if we can show them other than what they see every day as violence or different, just a smile thing, then I think it will be a difference. But it's up to us and it starts at home as well," said Angel Kennedy, children's book author.

When Ride for Peace first started, Morris said there were only 20 bikes so seeing it grow to hundreds was positive growth and he wants to continue its popularity.

The Cincinnati Police Department reported 23 homicides in 2024 as of Saturday.

It's about the same as the reported 22 at this time in 2023.

REPERTOIRE : OK, I can’t deny I’ve been excited about this one for months. The new album from Shane Parish (Ahleuchatistas) named Repertoire comes out this Friday, May 10. It arrives courtesy of none other than Palilalia Records, which is owned and operated by Bill Orcutt (Harry Pussy). The album compiles 14 solo guitar arrangements by Parish of such classic and revered artists as Kraftwerk, John Cage, Charles Mingus, Alice Coltrane, Aphex Twin, Ornette Coleman and others. It opens with a contemplative version of Coleman’s “Lonely Woman,” and this really sets the mood for the entire listen. His fingerpicking on the Minutemen’s “Cohesion” is learned but fluid, much like the 1984 original. With Cage’s “Totem Ancestor” he maintains a tick-tock rhythm while sprinkling both lighter and heavier fare atop it. And what he does with Kraftwerk’s “Europe Endless” could cause someone unfamiliar with the tune to assume the German stalwarts are actually from Kentucky. Parish plays as if he has four hands sometimes, and each time this spins something revelatory happens. He’ll play a release show for this on May 23 at Hendershot’s, but you can get familiar with this starting this week. HOLIDAY ROAD : Tears For The Dying , Athens’ longest-running death rock band ever with over two decades of existence now under its belt, is heading out on tour this week with most dates being in support of Athens’ other band of dark lords Vision Video . The group heads to Detroit first, then roughly follows the East Coast back down to Georgia after hitting New York, Nashville and a few other places. In other news, group founder Adria Stembridge is now joined by Cody White on guitar, but they’re currently without a drummer, so the tour will progress with the band performing as a two-piece. GET LOW : Ancient art band Limbo District never had an album when it existed. It actually didn’t have much of anything for the consuming public to, you know, consume. But it also wasn’t around for very long, either, having played a final show in 1983 and barely existing for a full two years. As part of its continuing effort to bring Limbo District into the public eye and consciousness, Chunklet Industries will unleash the very limited edition (only 100 copies) of an album titled Live Limbo . This was pieced together from live recordings of the band, and edited and sequenced by Chunklet head Henry Owings and producer to the stars Jason NeSmith . Pre-orders are being accepted now for this, and its release date is scheduled for May 20. This will absolutely sell out, so jump on it now if you want one. ONE WORLD : Steve Fitzpatrick (Radio:Tahiti, Sky City, et al) and his long-running project Unus Mundus will host what he’s billing as the first BM Fest, which stands for “beats and metal.” This happens Friday, May 31 at Ciné and the reason I’m telling you now is because advance tickets are already on sale. WHAT’S IN A NAME? : Marcel Sletten (Primordial Void) has a fresh EP out now which is his third EP release, but far from his third overall. It’s titled Lamb , a name of which I cannot deny being a fan, and contains three tracks. The title track opens with a quickened heartbeat of a rhythm that quickly solidifies before some oscillations and only slightly lighter fare enter the picture. “Hebron” was originally released on the compilation Tracks for Palestine courtesy of Planetary Tracks. This is easily among the heaviest work Sletten has ever released and reaches deeply, with both hands even, into the depths of classic industrial music (i.e. late 1970s era) and succeeds admirably. The final track “Dove” is of the expansive ambient style that a lot of Sletten fans should already be familiar, but with a few beats like thunder right toward the track’s end. PRINCE AVENUE SLEIGH RIDE : Athens punk veterans Noise Mountain will release its new EP this Friday, May 10 and celebrate its release the next night, Saturday, May 11, at Normal Bar along with new Athens band Cactus Jackson and the always reliable Shehehe . The EP, titled A Good Year For Azaleas , comes out digitally and on vinyl and, if you get the physical record, the whole thing is on both sides. This is a tight collection of incredibly tuneful and aggressive songs that carry on the tradition of Hot Water Music, Lawrence Arms, Avail, et al. The first chords of opening song “Halfway House” foreshadow the central musical conceit of the next song “Baba” which makes solid use of musically referencing The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” It’s really difficult to break this record apart and identify which tracks are better than others because the whole thing is so solid. That said, “Azaleas” raises its own bar with its opening chunky rhythm, but then seamlessly introduces guitars which sound like their own chorus. Even the goofily named “Satan Rules” kicks out the jams here. This was recorded, mixed and mastered by Kyle Spence (Harvey Milk). The release show will run you 10 bucks to get in or $20 for the show plus a copy of the record. Savannah City Council unanimously approved an ordinance Thursday afternoon that requires open-air trollies to install sound control devices within three years.

The decision comes after residents voiced concerns and issues with the sound from tour service shuttles and trollies in downtown. The ordinance requires devices to keep sound from being heard more than 15 feet away from any certain vehicle.

"I am so happy that we are responding to the outpouring of these residents to improve your quality of life on this issue," said District 1 Alderwoman Bernetta B. Lanier. "We want to improve livability, and that's all we want."

City Manager Jay Melder gave a timeline for tour companies and whatever open-air vehicles they own to be in compliance with the new ordinance:

• 35% of all vehicles must comply within 12 months;
• 75% of all vehicles must comply within 24 months;
• 100% of all vehicles must comply within 36 months.

"I would like to see two things," said Savannah Mayor Van Johnson. "I would like vehicle specific identification the signifies compliance, so for example when a vehicle is outfitter, with it is a sticker or something on so that people know this vehicle is in compliance."

The mayor gave almost full support for the ordinance, citing concerns with company compliance. Along with the request above, he also asked Melder to ensure a database is available for residents to know how many vehicles follow the new rule.

"I think that's important to make sure that we keep everybody's word when it comes to this. I know we're all Kumbaya right now," Johnson said. "We just want to make sure that in 36 months we come by, and nobody hears (the trolleys)."

City council proposed two different sound systems to be used in the vehicles; directional speakers and in-ear headphones. District 2 Alderman Detric Leggett said it would cost nearly $12,000 to upgrade one trolley with directional speakers.

WJCL 22 News reached out to Old Savannah Tours for comment, but have not heard a response.

US Senate passes provisions to improve air tour safety, address air noise in Hawai‘i

The US Senate on Thursday passed the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, which included several provisions authored by US Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i). The bill contains measures to address air tour noise in Hawai‘i, improve air tour safety, help airports adapt to extreme weather, and establish a Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary at the Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection. The bill now moves to the House of Representatives for consideration.

“These provisions will help make air tours in Hawai‘i safer and less noisy as well as help airports across our state become more resilient to disasters,”said Schatz, a senior member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. “We’re also making meaningful investments to empower the Department of Transportation to advocate on behalf of air travelers more effectively and strengthen consumer protections.”

Specifically, the provisions:

• Direct the FAA to participate in the State of Hawai‘i’s air noise and safety task force and recommend ways to reduce the disruption that air tours can cause residents. 
• Require stronger safety requirements for commercial air tours and helicopter operations through increased FAA oversight, equipment upgrades and flight data monitoring.
• Ensure airport projects that would improve resilience to sea level rise and extreme weather are eligible for funding under the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program, which will enable work to make Hawaii’s airports safer in the face of climate change.
• Authorize the Department of Transportation’s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection to be led by a Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary and supported by $70 million over five years in authorized funding.

Hawai‘i has the highest number of fatalities from air tour crashes in the nation, totaling over 85 people since the National Transportation Safety Board began keeping records, according to Schatz.

Schatz originally introduced the Air Tour and Skydiving Safety Improvement Act and the Hawai‘i Air Tour Management Act with the Hawai‘i congressional delegation following multiple fatal helicopter crashes in the state in 2019. He also previously introduced the Natural Hazard Resilience for Airports Act with Senator Ted Budd (R-N.C.) following concerns that FAA programs were not set up well to allow Hawaiʻi’s airports to build resiliently.
