The Chrysalians were a spacefaring race . They were a neutral people who, as of the mid- 2360s , had been at peace for ten generations and who were " uninvolved in all interstellar matters of consequence. "

In 2366 , they hired a Betazoid / Human hybrid , Devinoni Ral , to handle their affairs in negotiation for the Barzan wormhole . The Chrysalians felt they had the resources, technology, and science to oversee a wormhole , and Ral was able to secure exclusive rights to the wormhole by manipulating the Caldonians , the Ferengi , and the Federation . Eventually, the wormhole was determined to be useless, but Ral expected the Chrysalians to be understanding due to his previous services to them when he returned to report to them. ( TNG : " The Price ")

• Goofs When Jack climbs over a table in the cargo bay and does a front-flip off of it, there is a quick cut and actor Tim Ransom is replaced by and obvious stunt double. In addition to the physical dissimilarities, when the scene cuts from the long shot (stunt double) to the close-up (Ransom), Jack's arms are suddenly crossed where they had been down by his sides.

Jack : The fact is-is that the universe is going to stop expanding, and it is going to collapse in on itself. We've got to do something before it's too late.

Jack : Sixty trillion years, seventy at the most.

The crew of Deep Space Nine is about to get a shock when a visitor from the past arrives.

Miles O’Brien’s former love, Dr. Julian Bashir, returns to the station after a long absence, and with him, he brings a startling announcement: Julian has been working with a powerful alien race known as the Chrysalians, and he has come to Deep Space Nine to find a cure for a deadly virus created by the Chrylians.

Julian has been searching for a cure for months, with no success. He believes that the crew of Deep Space Nine may hold the answer to his search — and he is willing to do whatever it takes to find it.

Meanwhile, the Chrylians, led by their leader, the mysterious “Klingon-like” figure, have set their sights on Deep Space Nine as well, and they are determined to get what they want.

Tensions mount as the station’s crew are caught in the middle of a conflict between the Chrylians and Julian’s search for a cure. With both sides unwilling to back down, it’s up to Miles O’Brien and the rest of the crew to find a way to save the lives of the station’s inhabitants, as well as the lives of those on the planet below.

As the Chrylians, led by their leader, close in on Deep Space Nine, Julian and the crew must find a way to work together and defeat the alien threat. With Miles and Julian at the helm, they must use their skills and creativity to solve the mystery of the Chrylian virus, and to save the station from destruction.

With the fate of the station and the lives of its inhabitants in the balance, will they be able to find a way to stop the Chrylians and cure the virus before it’s too late? Will their efforts be enough to save the station? This thrilling episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine will put the crew in a race against time as they struggle to find a way to stop the Chrylians and save the station.
